alutachuks: I also have a question bothering hotel reservation. I have made a booking for 6 days.I intend to cancel the booking after visa application and get a hotel on arrival. hope this won't affect my visa processes and also hope this won't have a negative effect at POE. If you don't have a confirmed hotel booking by the time you get to POE you are likely to be in the next available fight back to Nigeria. |

oak202: Can you be more specific on what happened during the encounter for others to learn.
My last 2 applications so far, i cancelled my hotel reservation after getting my visas & booked a comfortable & convenient one before embarking on the journey. And this is what people i know do always and they have not gotten into trouble. The border patrol officer is only interested in a valid hotel booking not the one you used while booking.
I do noticed also people advising others to spend exactly the number of days they stated in their application. Spending few more days( 3-5 days extra) will not affect your next application once your return ticket covers the extra days. That is obviously not true, a budget of 10 days is not the same as a budget of 15days, stating that you are going to stay 10days and given a visa and you went ahead to book a flight a return ticket for 15days is an issue. Luckily you haven't paid the price yet but many have because its misrepresentation. |

Abeoladele: During my visa application , I stated I'm staying for 10days but now i intend staying for 15days. Hope that won't cause a problem at the port of entry ?? Also is a most that I use the same hotel I filled in my application form ? Also should i enter tru Heathrow or Gatwick airport?? Pls advice That is possible because you added extra 5 days which you did not budget for in your application, pray long and hard that you don’t get question about it but when renewing your visa you have to explain it. Booking a hotel and cancel before you land could land you in trouble at the Poe. |

omopapa: I have read through the Short Stay Waiver Programme you mentioned and I can confirm categorically that you CANNOT enter Ireland with a UK short stay visa if you are not a citizen of some countries in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Find below extract from http://www.inis.gov.ie/
I have also attached a picture
Short stay visa waiver programme
You may be able to visit Ireland, for less than 90 days, without an Irish visa if you can answer “yes” to each of these questions: Do you have an eligible UK short stay visa? and Does your visit to Ireland end before your permission to stay in UK ends (this is granted by an UK immigration official when you pass through UK immigration)? and Was your passport issued by one of the countries listed in the list below?
Eastern Europe
Belarus Bosnia and Herzegovina Montenegro Russian Federation Serbia Turkey Ukraine
Middle East
Bahrain Kuwait2 Oman2 Qatar2 Saudi Arabia
Asia
India Kazakhstan Peoples Republic of China1 Thailand Uzbekistan You are right Nigeria is not in the list of countries who can use short stay visa to Ireland |

ecton: Hi everyone.
I have a valid Uk multiple entry visit visa which I used for one week in October and the visa expires in April next year. I want to visit again this December to attend a family member's PhD graduation ceremony and also spend Christmas and new year holiday there. I'll be going with an invitation letter from the graduand and he will also be accommodating me. The total visiting duration would be about 3 weeks + (trying to get a decent fare rate in this rush period). My worry is if there's any policy on returning visits or if there's a limit to the duration of visit, especially for a second visit. Do you work or run a business in Nigeria? If yes..what was the reason for your previous visit to the UK? |

If we can get it, we can send our complaints to them.
Can anyone in the house help with it? Unfortunately this takes time, it takes as long as 6 months to get a refund sadly. I went through that experience with a family member. |

Real life personal experience, I travelled to Paris from Birmingham. My return flight was via Dublin airport, I wasn’t allowed to enter Dublin Cus I didn’t have Irish visa. The immigration officer even had a list in her cubicle where she confirmed with my nationality. Had to just continue my journey to UK jejely.
The link posted here specifically states that except for citizens of India or China.
Find highlighted points in the attached pictures That was just an example, with UK short visa you can visit Ireland and vice versa. This is not for people holding student visa or Long term visitors to the UK. Its called Short stay visa waiver programme Don't argue about something you don't know. |

frapzkid: Please how are other schools in UK cheaper than the ones in London, even if there are the difference is not more than 2000 . Apart from Imperial , UCL and King college there is no master course from a London uni that is more than 18000 pounds . You can even see courses of 15000 in UCL (5th best in Uk) according to times . Schools like Middlesex, Brunel university , university of west London are top schools too and cheap. So what are you saying.
The amount of exposure someone get in London is tremendous, trust me , if you are an IT or computer student , I would 100% advise you to go to a London uni . USA universities are more ahead in fact 2 times ahead of UK university in IT and computer courses. Is only schools in London that can one that higher exposure to reach the level of that in US Those two universities are not top universities and that is why they are cheap. Top universities are expensive even those outside London. |

Blessedolamide: Hi @Justwise,
Brief history: I have a distant uncle(Mum's uncle) who is a UK pr. So I applied for a visit visa in May 2010 using the documentation he provided. I was actually refused for the "absence of credible evidence that he is related to me, not current SOA, doubt in my purpose of visit". Presently studying in Ireland and intend to apply again. Most of my friends that applied for a tourist visa got the 6-month visa, even though most of them have family and friends in the UK, they didn't include. They only stated that they are going for tourism. Here is my question, I have a bro living there for a while now. I intend to sponsor myself, pay for accommodation and other expenses by myself as my temp student job & disposable income can cater for the travel expenses. Kindly advise on how to go about this as I will like to answer the question "do you have any friends or family in the UK?" with a yes without requiring any documentation or letter from him.
Thanks There is no other way of going about it, go ahead and apply and be honest about your previous refusal and declare your relatives living in the UK. |

simonjo: Sir, be rest assured I am trained to obey rules.
Good move, now from this forum to this section.
Your focus is on Education/Admissions/Travel agents and not agents of S.H.I.E.L.D which you have no control over anyway.
However a simple search reveals individuals that promotes certain institutions, facilitate payments, flight booking, and travel tours and even posters. I guess they are ghosts to you.
It's either you are overwhelmed, ignorant or simply choose to be biased. What are you talking about? |

simonjo: I had to go through a few of your posts and could disern that you are educated. Be specific and not ambiguous in your reference. Agents are much more than what you think.... they can reference special agents, general agents, secret agents and employees.
That I said I was an agent doesn't give you the slightest idea of what I do.
I promote and create awareness but to say agents are not needed is untrue and ambiguous. This is not ambiguous, its clear and simple, no agent, agency activities in this section. |

Please I really need your say or input. I just got an admission offer from Northumbria University for a 2 years Master's degree.
Can someone tell me about the university and Newcastle. I don't know much about the school because I was planning to go to Robert Gordon University but the study module and duration of Northumbria University is well structured than that of RGU.
I want to know how good or bad is Newcastle city and Northumbria University? Newcastle is a lively city with a lot of foreign student population and the university is a very good one, the university is a member of the prestigious Russell Group, very few universities in the UK are in that group. |

LaaJiblik: I promised to move ahead. I thought you would admit that you got it wrong (or probably mixed up a bit). It would appear you are adamant.
How clear do you want the rule to be? I saw that someone has graciously provided screen munches and link to the guidelines.
I would expect that for a PBS system, you all that is required is for an applicant to cross the Ts and dot the I’s. To do what the guideline says, rather than do what the guidelines did not say, just because someone feels there are loopholes.
I think you are mixing these things up. The use of the word ‘Sponsor’ by you shows clearly that you are mixing it up.
Guidelines stipulates funds to be in main applicant or dependant applicant’s name. Shikena. Any other 3rd party is counterfeit..... I still maintain everything I said on this issue, you don’t have to take it but I disagree with you. Move on because you can’t convince me on this. |

BouharryArtikou: Na wa for you ohhh. You clearly got something wrong. Admit it and stop arguing.
I have shown you precisely what the rules says about maintenance money for tier 4 deoendant. I have shown you the snapshot where it very clearly says whose account statement is eligible to be used. Either main applicant’s or Dependant’s.
Now it’s your turn to show all the members on this thread where you got your own information that in-law’s bank statement can be used for tier- 4 dependant.
I have opened book for you.
I want you to open book for me too.
As for the bolded above, you are making me laugh like a maniac. There is no way I can provide a link in support of your question which is baseless. Guideline specifically mentioned 2 people whose account statement can be used. You (on your own authority) decided to introduce a 3rd person whose account can be used. After being caught pants down by laajiblik you now want me to provide a document to disprove you? Ota show ya where you got that your mother in law information from.
