Amolad111: Dear Justwise and other Gurus in the house.
Pardon me for my lengthy narration. I am part of a project execution in my office and as such, were told to go on annual leave early this year so as to achieve the project's goals.
I applied for a Visa last year with my family but was refused, applied personally in December based on the office project and was issued successfully. In my preparation, I moved funds to my GBP account but with 40 pounds cash with me when I got to Heathrow's airport because I don't want to be moving cash around since I have paid for my hostel and trains within London ahead while in Nigeria. I have evidences of the train tickets with me.
However, in March this year when I got to Heathrow's airport, the border officer complained that the cash I had with me was too small. I showed him the funds in my various accounts even with my GBP account but was denied entering. My office in Nigeria was contacted to confirm the veracity of my status and also my contact in the UK. The major reasons were: 1) I have 40 pounds sterling with me, paid for 7 days hostel but have a return ticket of 12 days
2) I said I am seeing my contact in the UK.
I was told I have to be detained of for investigation but have the option to appeal but will take 28 WORKING DAYS to complete. In order not to jeopardise my project work in Nigeria and lose my job, I opted to fly back home immediately.
Before leaving, my Visa was CANCELLED on the spot.
I later appealed the cancellation in Nigeria and the decision was neither rejected nor accepted with a condition that I should have appealed in the UK. Even the appeal fee was refunded. I want to apply for visa in January to visit during Easter period and will state all the incidences with appropriate references. I have a printed statement of account for the GBP as at then and the response I got when I appealed the decision.
Can I go ahead to apply and hope this will not be seen as a sort of desperation?
Thank you. Yes you can and disclose previous incident and avoid the mistake you made previously. |

Please i need an assistance, i have a 5 year UK visit visa, i intend to travel in December and i would want my youngest sister 27 years old staying with me wants join on the trip...My husband would be at work during the Xmas so he wont be travelling with me. She has a passport i wanted her to join me on the trip so i can have a travel buddy. What are her chances? She's a startup that just finished NYSC I intend to be the sponsor Would it work? Her chances are very slim as a grown up adult with no tie to Nigeria. She has very little document to convince the ECO that she will return to Nigeria if given a visa. |

You don't have the profile to get a visa to any western countries so your agent has to use fake documents and ruin your immigration profile, at that point you will not need anyone to advise you again. |

Makkykiki: Hi, been following the trend for a while now, thank you for all the information, may God bless you all for taking out your time to answer all the questions.....
I have a question:
I just got my tier 4 Visa today, for a 2 years masters in Teeside University. I am married with a son, I was advised by the school to apply for just myself as it will make the visa easier to get. My Visa valid date shows from 26th of December.
So my question is this, can I apply for my husband and son, now that mine is out or I have to wait till 26th of December? Please anyone with an idea should help answer. Thank you You can apply for them anytime even tomorrow as long as you have the money that meets the requirement..i mean their own maintenance money which is separate from the one you used during your own application. You can travel after Dec 26th, applying separately was a mistake, you should have applied together. |

AmbHenry92: Thank you so much wise justwise. I really appreciate ur clarification, suggestion and advice.
Though a friend currently studying in Glasgow said not all job agencies do ask for letter from sch, that as a mater of fact, he had interview with over 5 agencies and it was only one that asked for letter from school. Also to open an account, you need bank letter from ur school... but he believes that this can be ready b4 one get into UK, and can get it on their school portal. Furthermore he said as for NI, they don't need any bank details all they need is passport and BRP. Once one has those two, he can book an NI interview and it doesn't take anytime that he got an appointment of 5 working days after he called them. And once one go for d interview, they'll give u a temporary ref number that you can use to work until ur NI number comes out in say 2 weeks after ur interview.
How true or possible is this guys? I don't know about any school that will upload bank letter in their website that will contain that student's details. This letter is personal and not generic, it contains your course and your personal details with your school stamp and signature. Again i don't know how your friend managed to attend job interview without registering with the school, get student ID and a letter. The first thing you do when you arrived in the UK as a student is to register with your school and get your student ID, you don't start looking for job even before doing all that. Regarding NI..maybe in Scotland getting interview date is not difficult but in England it takes average of 2months and getting the actual NI takes even longer |

Mrsabuh1: Please I seek advice from experts here as I'm lost and devastated over this issue, please bear with me as my story is a little bit long.
This is the 7th year of my marriage and the union is blessed with three kids, hubby and I stayed in UAE, but whenever I'm pregnant I come down to have my kids due to cost and also I ll be needing helping hands after delivery, it happened that when I came down to have my last child 3years ago as usual, I was preparing to return to UAE , I discovered that my Husband had canceled the resident visa for myself and our two kids, when I confronted him he said he is making plans to leave UAE and there was no point for us coming back and also business isn't moving as usual so taking care of us will cause a strain on his finances. At first I felt bad and cried about it but later I accepted my fate and moved on.
First plan was for me to apply for Canada study visa, the plan was to go with my last child and after sometimes hubby and my other kids can join me later, I got admitted into a Canadian college but when the time for visa processing hubby pulled out that we should go the express entry way, I accepted and started with registering for ielts tutorials which I did for 5 weeks, and to God b the glory I aced my exam. It was left for him to write his as he ll be standing as the primary applicant since he has lots of job experience but along the line he pulled out again and said everyone is going to Canada and he ll work out something different.
Last year he applied for US visa he was denied, he applied for Germany too, still denied. While he was doing all this I was alone in Nigeria with the kids while he stays in UAE but visits every 5 months. This year June, we had some issues that would ve resulted to divorce but we settled it with the help of some elders so he said he was going to make up for his mistake by applying for UK for both of us so we can just take a vacation to London, of course I was excited and looking up for the trip.
He applied for UK visa for both of us and lucky they granted us 6 months, I was already getting set and looking forward to the trip when he said he needed to rush down to UAE as he has some unfinished business, two days after he left I saw him updated his fb and the location was showing UK, he left without me and he didn't even inform me that he ll b going until he got there. When I confronted him he came up with the excuse that he needed to meet with some companies over investment so that way he can process resident permits for everyone at home so we all come over there at once, two days later he told me he got a job.
it's been 2 months over there already, we filed our stay for 10 days when applying for the visa and I know what he has done is messing his future chances up, now he doesn't do video call, won't pick my calls when I call at my own time, from 7pm he isn't active as no way I can reach him, before now the only time he put a call across is when he is in a bus .. I confronted him over all this and guess what,he has stopped talking to me, Wont reply my chats or even talk to me yet he reads them, our sons bday was 4 days ago and he couldn't even call to speak with him or wish him happy birthday.
I'm so confused, this is the man that I have lost lot of jobs opportunity for simply because he doesnt want me to work, I learnt fashion designing so it won't be like I'm staying at home doing nothing, I run a fashion store but trust me I'm not feeling it because its not what I'm meant to do ..
In two months time I will b 30 and you know how Nigerian systems works, the older you get, the lesser chances of getting a job I dont even know what to do with myself, please advise me what to do?
I'd also like those who ve an idea of how the system in UK works to tell me how long it takes for one to b granted residential permits in the UK so I ll know when all this will end or if it ll ever end so I can make my next move also how possible it is for one to land UK and in two days he is already working .
I feel used, I feel like hubby used me to secure a visa and I was never in his plans..I reported the issues to our family already and he Told them all he did was for the future of myself and the kids and I shld endure but I do not know for how long..,I'm tired of this distsnce marriage ,its been 3years in distance marriage and its been hell for me.
MOD please help me post this He lied to you, you can't get a job legally with visiting visa in the UK and you can never get permanent residency with such visa only if you are ready to wait for 20yrs to try your luck. He has also dented your chances of getting the UK visa in future |

FNRF: No, foreign students can not.
If I say I’m running a money exchange platform from Nigeria hence the reason of the huge funds coming in and out of my account would that work?
I do not work illegally, I only do the money exchange thingy.
I have thought about saying I buy goods and send back home from funds I have been able to save from the upkeep my parents monthly but my fear is I do not have waybills to prove that.
I also intend to join my Nigerian bank statement to show that the influx of payments going in and out of my Nigerian account as well but I do not have any standing balance in it because I majorly use it to receive funds and sell it as soon as I see a buyer for it. If working as foreign student is not allowed then what you are doing is illegal there is no two ways about it. Present an honest application than trying to make up things and cut corners. If your mum will be sponsoring you then present that evidence. |

AmbHenry92: Good morning guys. No doubt we have smart guys here, when i need clarification i come to this forum and go through questions and answers posts. So Transperent unlike agents that wont tell you most truth, but this forum would do so especially with hot debates over subject matters. Thumbs up guys!
That been said, Please i would like to get some clarifiation. I am to apply for Visa on monday 25th Nov, thereafter pick the next available date for interview here in Abuja. I am thinking of which would be better, standard or Priority? Reasons been that my resumption date is 27th January and i have heard that you are not allowed into the UK except a month to your start date which for mine is 27th Dec. Contrary to this some sources are saying the moment i get my visa i can travel even 2weeks to my expected depature date. The truth is, i intend traveling earlier so that i can settle down do everything like getting NI and a Job as well as work a bit before my start date which is 27th Jan 2020. I also want to travel before the xmas/new year period 20th dec to 1st jan 2020. This is to avoid the stress, risk and cost of traveling that period. If i am to make do with the "one-month to course start date" then i am expected to leave by 27th Dec and my parents already said i wld hv to postpone the trip and wait till first week of January to travel and this could make the time i hv to settle down before classes short. Hence to achive travelling earlier the taught of priorty came up. Because standard could place my visa coming in at mid Dec and before i could prepare, the xmas period is up against me. So guys please i need ur advice, suggestion and clarification mostly about departure time after visa is issued me.
Also i had to refusal from Australia in Feb and August over insufficient home ties, hope this wont be much a problem because i would be tendering my previous refusals. Though i now have a registered Telecommunucations Business name with CAC, this business brings in daily cash flow and is visible on my prove of funds though my mom is my sponsor but the money is in my account. I also currently have an employment with an NGO since March,(180k salary). But after bringing these documents including membership certificate with Red Cross, Rotary international, my 7.0 Ielts all just to make things juicy this time, BCIE are of the view that these doesnt matter for UK. I should only work with whats on my CAS (which is degree, transcript and prove of funds) that theres no need saying or supporting my application with home ties employment and other documents. I am only been careful and proactive. Thanks guys in anticipation. 1. You need to forget about traveling early to get NI so as to start working before your school starts because that is impossible. You will be lucky to get NI by Feb 2020, you need to do your orientation first, get letter from your school to open bank account before thinking about job. Many job agencies will ask for a letter from your school as well. 2. Your parents are right..forgot about traveling before Xmas because the chances of getting a visa before Xmas is remote because of huge demand and cost of ticket will be sky high. First to second week of January is your best bet if you apply now. 3. All you need are those documents listed in your CAS. |

I think it is too late now to apply for Xmas trip only if you are going to pay thousands for super priority application and pray long and hard that it comes out before your travel date. Secondly.. apply as a family and submit your financial documents together with supporting documents. Separate sponsorship makes no sense to me when you are applying as a family and traveling together. I don't know what your living expenses and disposable income should be as I don't live with you to know how much you spend in your family. Only you and your wife will know that. FNRF: Good day everyone!
I have been following this thread for weeks now because I plan on applying for a UK tourist visa.
I’m 25 years old and using a chinese student visa which is renewed yearly after tuition is paid.
I visited South Korea last year and I also traveled to Japan (April) and France (September) this year.
I have started the renewal of my residence permit and I’d like to apply for the UK tourist visa.
I have gotten T-Bills certificate from my parents worth 10 million naira and also account balance of circa 1.5 million naira, C of O and a survey for another landed property all of which are scanned copies.
I engage in a petty business which makes huge sums of amount going in and out of my account.
I help people (Nigerians) who want to pay their chinese agents, hence the reason of inflow of huge sums in my chinese bank account.
I filled in I have a personal savings which is equivalent to 1m naira.
I’m at the crossroad now because I do not have proofs to show these transactions other than conversations with this people and naira sent to my Nigerian bank account.
Also, my monthly expense I raised it to 130k which sometimes is possible. My monthly rent is 62k rmb and I have receipts for this, and I have utility bills of about 10k monthly which sums up to 72 rmb monthly.
My feeding goes up to about 55k which is because I do not eat some certain things and part it is used for some miscellaneous expenses.
I sponsor myself but just trying to use these documents with my parents name saying they’re sponsoring me with 1500 pounds flight, hotel and daily expenses for 9 days tourist visit.
Here’s a break down of the 1500.00
Flight; 532 pounds
Hotel; 460 pounds
The remaining balance would be used for feeding and buying tickets for tourist sites.
I can get letter from the school, also I’d like to ask if scanned copies of the T-Bills, statement, IDs and signed letters of my parents work?
I’d like to know if this is a good shot or are there anything I should add.
Thank you so much. You have to explain the source of money in your account if you are going to present any bank account from China. Are you allowed to work or do business as a foreign student in China? If no then be careful else it could affect your application. |
