Okororeg: Okay sir. But if it's refused because of that can they still grant me visit visa after that without referring to it again? Reason for previous refusal is likely to play a part in next visa application |

olorogun1: thanks to everyone on this forum for your contributions towards the success of my uk visa application. most especially @justwise i was refused 2007, i made the application through an agent back then, all information used by the agent then was fake even my international passport was not having my correct info except my name. i was so furious after the refusal seeing those errors,i had to do another passport with my real details aftewards,i applied to us twice and i was also refused, after reading alot about people's experiences and a word of encouragement from justwise i decided to give a try, i did my biometrics on 30th of july and i was sent a mail on 23rd of august to pick up my passport, i was given 6month on my virgin passport
i did all the application on my own even with my mobile phone i don't have personal account except my coporate and i run all my expenses with the account, though i stated that in my cover letter.
documents submitted.
cac cert. property doc (survey and family receipt) nepa bill lawma bill land use demand notice tax certificate
my wife had lost the marriage cert. so i only scanned the affidavit she swored for her change of name and our wedding picture.also the news paper publication for change of name. all was scanned with my phone through the edossiersolo app i downloaded.
wish everyone applying a success in their application.
thank you nairaland. Congratulations! Glad it works out at the end |

Fekonzy: I mentioned it in my application that I have collaborations in the UK and would be making lots of trips there. However, for the first trip, I stated it was for a convention. So if I overstay the 22 days on this first trip, would it still affect future applications? Stick to what you stated in your application form then return later for much longer stay since you have informed them already. |

Fekonzy: I work but I am on study leave. Running my PhD research in S.A. I have some research collaborations in the UK so I will be making lots of trips there. Perfect reason to travel to the UK and stay a month or two depending on your research need but you have to mention this in your application so as to have it on your file |

Okororeg: Good afternoon house. My name is Okoro. Please I once indicated on my UK visa application that I know only 1 person who is my step - sister. In year 2017 we had a wedding and one of my family I have not seen for a very long period of time was present and I discovered that he is also based in the uk. Since then we have been communicating effectively and he is ready to invite me to the UK now. We bear same surname as we have same father but another mother. Our father had six wives. Please hope it won't affect my application because I did not list him as one of the people I know in the UK in my visa application in the year 2016. He was in Nigeria in January 2019 when my daughter had her birthday and we took pictures together. Can he state in his letter of invitation that we lost contact for a long time and that we met at a family party in 2017 during my cousin's wedding while I also state it in my cover letter? Please advise. Thank you. The problem with your story is that it's far too common/familiar, no doubt that the ECO might have heard such stories too many times before. The question is ...will the ECO believe you? No one here can answer that, you just have to apply and explain the situation the way you did here. |

Fekonzy: Ok thank you so much.
But for clarity sake, its compulsory that I stay for a maximum period of 22 days for the first trip, Then subsequent visits can be more than that?
Also what duration am I allowed before I can return? Do you work or run your own business in Nigeria? |

Fekonzy: I would want to stay for 2 months. Is it possible? What is the implication. I have a research relating to my PhD. that I would like to conduct there and 22 days wont be enough. I will be surprised if you are able to renew that visa. PhD research was not mentioned in your application and you did not budget for 2 months stay. |

Fekonzy: Hello house and Justwise. Please help me with this. I have been to the UK twice now for both a convention and visit. I did a renewal and applied for 2 years instead. I have just received a 2 years visit visa and while applying I stated I wanted to go for a convention just like I did last year and will stay for 22 days.
Will staying for more than 22 days affect my future applications?
Remember I have been to the UK twice now but I am confused that if I stay for more than 22 days with this new visa, it will affect my future applications.
Please Justwise and house advise me. How long more do you want to stay? |

zakmus: Just wise I submitted what I just listed No need to lie cos I wouldn't be doing myself any good I'm looking for solutions to my situation now Then either the visa center mistakenly omitted some of your documents or the ECO did not see them because data page of his British passport is a vital document. Is either you reapply and attach letter of complain or you send a letter of complain pointing out documents you submitted so as to dispute ECO's refusal reasons If you want to reapply ask him to also send you the front cover of his British passport |

Documents from me - Employment letter -Employment confirmation letter - leave letter from employer -introduction letter from employer -Company I.D card -6 months payslip -6 months bank statement -marriage certificate -family pictures -my son birth certificate
Those where the documents I submitted I want to reapply as soon as possible cos my annual leave start on the 2nd September Will really appreciate your input Are you sure you submitted all that? That is exactly what the ECO was referring to in that refusal |

overlord77: Yea, I feel ya. It doesn't make sense that a hospital gives one discount and VOs are capitalizing on that as one's crime. They should come up with something else. Like you said, if the hospital is convicted of Medicaid fraud and demands their full payment afterwards, that'd make sense than calling them up to request you want to pay the balance given to you in form of a discount.
Anyway, like I said earlier. Let's those trying to renew their visas pipe down for now and give it a while, US elections are coming up pretty soon. For intending mothers, try Canada or some place else. Cheers

Monmarri: 1. If you have family members in the UK that need your assistance. My cousin sister had a five years UK visiting visa and her younger sister who is British gave birth to twins Dec 2017, their mother is late, so she decided to use her five years visa and stayed for five months last year 2018, from Jan - May to assist her sister because she delivered 2ru operation. This year March she left again to UK and just returned last month July to Nigeria. She said at the POE when she was asked how long she spent the last time, she said five months, she explained to them the reason and when she tried to show the immigration officer the proof of pictures and details of her sister, the immigration officer just wave it off and asked how long she will be staying and she said five months and she allowed her entry.
2. If ones partner lives in the UK . I had a colleague that went on secondment and the wife visited him and stayed for five months on each visits.
3. Medical Treatment : - Ones medical treatment might extend for six months based on doctors report. Apart from medical treatment which should be one of excuse per person the rest are abuse of your visa especially when you work, run business in Nigeria. Your cousin sister stayed 5 months looking after her sister then after a while she returned again to stay another 5 months looking after the same person? |

Monmarri: My advice since u are frequent visitor in the UK why not save money and apply for five or ten years to safe you time and gathering documents. ( I know it is expensive but it is the best u can do for your self)
Just apply for your visa and be honest in the duration of time u spent in the UK. Since you did not break immigration rules for overstaying more than 180 days in each visit. What u have is two years multiple visa and it is also meant for frequent travelers. They are different circumstances that can make one to stay five months in the UK. I believe that ECO will not deny you visa if u are honest in y application and give geniue reasons for frequent trips. Expect if ECO sees that through y frequent visit, that you are trying to make UK your second home that is where he can make objection.
My second advice, give your self some time before you apply again. If you don't have a job look for one, through a job u can get documents to make another application. Name that unique circumstances that will make you spend 5months on visiting visa each time you visit the UK |

wyzoe: Emergency Update
This happened just some minutes ago.
I was watching a lecture on YouTube when I heard someone knocking loudly on the door. I thought that was odd because anyone coming to the house would have called (I share a house) and I thought the other guys would answer. They didn't (because they were not home).
So off I go to the door and I meet this young white man, probably in his 20s holding a file jacket with a few documents and an Etch a Sketch. He pointed to his mouth indicating he was mute, then he showed me a document that had his story. The document said sorry for wasting the AC but that he was hungry with two kids, and that he tried to work but it was difficult for him. The document also assured me he wasn't a scam. While I was reading it, I was using my side eye to scan him for any weapons. He didn't seem to have any.
I then wrote on his Etch a Sketch asking if he'd take 20 dollars, he read and nodded and then I went to bring the money for him.
Now, since I came to the house, neither the front nor back door is ever locked and I mean ever. Makes me wonder what would have happened if no one was at home. I'll have a talk with my guys about this. You were one-chanced. |
