MizMary: Hello Justwise. Pls I need your help urgently.
Pls I am travelling to the UK on a tier 2 visa and resuming on the 6th of September. I just had a baby and I have asked my brother in law who is on a tier 5 visa and relocated April this year to invite my mum. Now he has provided all the supporting documents from his side. But my mum is a caterer who has a small catering school where she teaches about 4 to 5 students per set.for a while, she teaches students and sells some snacks In the school.thats where her source of income is from. She owns a landed property but hasn't gotten the C of O of the land yet (gotten from the Omonile pple). She is married and my dad is a pastor. The total money right now in her account Balance is 370k which she got from her business. Recently, after filling her visa application form, she was employed on a part time basis to teach in a big catering school at Ajah. The problem now is this, will it be a good idea to include her employment letter as part of her supporting documents, since it wasn't first included in the application letter ( cos she was self employed then and has not earned any salary from this new employer) I don't want anytime that 'll complicate her chances of getting a visa. Thank you. Pls this is urgent. Cc:Justwise, Epotek Add a note about the latest change in her employment and attach evidence to support that. you need to explain that she got the job just after making the visa application. |

Darvick: Wow 15 months within 2yrs and you ain’t questioned at POE. Well ECO will only know how long you stayed if you have departure and arrival stamps on your passport. Some people do avoid the actual date stamps if they have overstayed, only you know your situation. Also I hope you ain’t stamped at UK airport at any point?
You gonna need a very strong convincing reason to say to the ECO why you stayed that long, well nothing is in impossible. You could be lucky the ECO won’t pay attention to it.
Wish you luck with a good convincing genuine reason you gonna give the ECO That is actually not true |

Mancala: So, let describe how this works. Scenario 1: China calls in the debt, America pays up. America borrows more money from China to finance imports from China as America will not buy without them financing and China cannot sell otherwise. America wins!
Scenario 2: China calls in the debt and America pays. America slows down imports from China and their economy suffers. China buys American assets and treasury bonds like they have always done becasue that is the safest place for their money. America wins again! Case in point, the recent inveterted yield curve where short term rates are higher than long term rates due to China and the rest of the world rushing into American bonds as the markets went crazy. Where will America get the money to pay up? And what happens if China refuses to lend more money to America? America economy suffers? Your scenarios sound very funny and one sided. Life doesn't work that way. |
Travel › Re: Is It Better To Live In Europe Than In The US? by justwise(mod): 8:54pm On Aug 16, 2019 |
Mancala: You fail to realize that China's economy is mainly driven by exports. If other countries (especially America) do not buy, China is screwed. Americas economy is largely driven by consumtion. In simple terms, China's economy lies in Americas hands and Americas economy lies in Americas hands . In addition, China makes what they are told how to make. The technology of the stuff they make originates in the West. If America wisens up (which Trump is trying to do) and stops the transfer (stealing) of this technology, they are screwed. That is not entirely true, American farmers also depend on China to buy their products. Now China has decided not to buy soybeans from America and seek supplier elsewhere. Another false statement is... China's economy lies in Americas hands and Americas economy lies in Americas hands..if that is the case then the trade war should be hitting only China but that is not the case, its 2ways traffic, no country can survive on his own. America alone can not consume what they produce, if that is the case then China can also do the same because China is more populated. |

Mancala: In absolute terms, 1.11 trillion is a whopping number. Relative to the U.S. economy, it is not significant. It is not in China's interest to call in their debt because it will actually result in hurting their own economy (and this is why they havent done so).
Things indeed can change over time but will things actually change? China is trying to build their reputation, but are they actually convincing anyone of note? Apart from Russia, which other countries of note in their region are aligned with China? Which other countries will eventually buy into their overtures? Absolutely none in my opinion. Countries are begining to see through their shady pratices. China is investing and giving out loans, but guess what? When these loans default, what is China doing? They are seizing assets. They kick you when you're down. America did the opposite, they forgave loans. They gave out grants. They provided free healthcare, access to technology and education. China is not really winning over the hearts of the people like America did. America helped build up nations and created regional powers that now stand with it. China is on a resource grab to make itself great like the European powers did during colonial times. Very big difference Yes but hurt American economy even more, China has the money and most especially weaker currency so they can sell their goods quicker than America. |

DexterousOne: China can NEVER fill in the shoes that America fills today Not even in a thousand years So forget it. America will decline over the decades into the future That's for sure
But no other country can fill in that gap again The world has gone past that All we would have at best are power blocs and all that
But China? Forget it Many said the same thing about Trump being elected but today America has become a laughing stock each time he speaks. If you are older than 10yrs old(this is not an insult) then you should know that nothing is impossible. America started gradually until they become world power and other countries will one day do the same. It takes a very long time to build but a shorter time to destroy |

Mancala: If China and Russia succeeded in persuading the rest of the international community to drop dollar as the international currency then America will be reduced to just ordinary country. who would have thought that China will take over from America as world power in few years time? At least economically
I typed out a long epistle on this but unfortunately it got lost in my attemopt to post. Short version is this: The dollar remains the global currency of note not just by fiat or by choice, but by a reputation built over the years and prevailing curcustance. First, the largest market for most global traders is the U.S. and therefore the big players like China have to hold large amounts of USD. Second, US treasuries are considered the safest investment vehicle in the world. In fact, their rates are called the risk free rate. No other country can match this reputation at present. Third, most countries hold their reserves in USD because the value of the dollar is supported by the relative strength of the US economy as opposed to a country like China that manipulates its currency values. No sensible country will tie its currency to a manipulated currency. One third of the worlds GDP is from countries that peg their currency to the USD. Another 89 countries keep their currency in a tight trading range relative to the dollar. In the forex market, 90 percent of transactions invlove the dollar. This is all happening because the U.S. has built up a reputation over many many years. In Russia itself, a significant amount of transactios are conducted in USD. For Russia and China to change this, they will need to create a viable alternative which means they will need to demonstrate the following: transparency, egalitarianism, open mindedness, equity, impartiality and the list goes on. We all know this is not happening.
As for China being an economic power, its all tied to the U.S. A recession in the U.S. will almost always result in one in China and not vice versa. China is beholden to the America. ..and US is owing China how much? Yes a whopping $1.11 trillion!! All you listed above are all fighting talk as you know that things can change with time, China is building their reputation around the world by investing in other countries, giving out cheap loans, getting involved in a big capital projects in many countries the same way America did years ago so as to influence domestic policies. American influence and domination around the world will keep diminishing year by year and if you don't know this then you are living in another planet. |

Get over the hidden bitterness about the US.
Worry more about how the upcoming fall out from Brexit is going to affect your UK. I really don't know why you keep getting your knickers in a twist with that comment, just like Trump any comment that not favorable is either fake news or from enemy of America. |
Travel › Re: Is It Better To Live In Europe Than In The US? by justwise(mod): 5:33pm On Aug 16, 2019 |
Mancala: In terms of geopolitical alliances and influence, this cannot be further from the truth. On a global context, America is a country unto itself. There is no other country in the world that has to think about global implications whenever it acts. For example, Trumps trade wars are looking like the begining of a global recession. No other countries actions, not even China can produce a global recession. America's actions towards Iran are measured, not because Iran can do it any direct harm, but because of the potential difficulty it represents to the rest of the world. A third of the worlds oil demand passes through the straits of Hormuz. America can easily bomb Iran back to the stone age but guess who will suffer. India, China, Saudi Arabia, Europe etc. Russia and Iran are allies. If Russia cuts off gas supplies to Western Europe (Including the UK), people will freeze to death. And Russia is a NATO adversary. In fact, NATO exists becasue of Russia which is no direct threat to the U.S., but to the rest of Europe. However, no America, no NATO.
In terms of which continent is better to live, it all depends on perspective. I have lived on both and think there are pros and cons for one and the other. Anecdotal evidence suggests that if you first live on one, your preferences will lie there. They are quite different from a cultural perspective and if you get immersed in one culture, it becomes more difficult to adjust to the other. Yes and that will affect America too something Trump and his supporters are clueless about, they believed that China alone is paying for the tariff forgetting that Americans are also paying the price including farmers. The global recession issue is not because of the trade war alone, the protest in HK, Brexit and Indian/Pakistan kashmir issue are all contributing factors. If China and Russia succeeded in persuading the rest of the international community to drop dollar as the international currency then America will be reduced to just ordinary country. The days of invading countries are over considering the price America paid for wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya |

Appreciation:
This was entirely God's favour and mercy. I had to pray and fast reminding God of His promises upon my life every single day. Even booked mass join with novena to our mother of perpetual help...Catholics can relate!
Scharwarma, Fairheart, PreStan, Dreambound NL and other gurus in the house I cannot thank you guys enough for the transcript reviews and mock interviews. It's only God that can reward you for your selfless services and sacrifice in this thread. Scharwarma one bottle of your brand in Johnson city when we see
For those still on AP, three words for you guys...Pray, Prepare and Proceed. Pray and go ahead with preparations for your travel plans(except booking for flight). I know it's not easy with the anxiety and depression sometimes but to be honest the only change you can make is through prayer and faith in God. What's the worst thing that can happen!!! Will someone die? Pray and keep faith
For those that were refused, dust up and refire. Don't allow one VO in one window stop you from achieving your sweet dreams. Post your transcript for reviews, disturb the gurus for mock interview and retire. No room for quiters here...saw 9th attempt transcript sometimes here.
For those awaiting interview, in the words of Scharwarma 'just go and get that visa' most importantly don't show desperation in that way you will be more articulate in your response.
For the newbies, we were all once newbies. Just post any queries you have here no matter how stupid it seems. I am sure you must get a valuable response. Be focussed and prepare ahead for your studies abroad.
For the silent observers(I inclusive), try and say hello sometimes. Maybe you might be helping save someone's dream with your little contribution as many are helping save yours.
I will be available to help with any assistance as much as my knowledge and schedule permits.
Thank you everyone. |

Beautyaddy: Great!!
Not everyone will want and can live in the US...just as not everyone will want and can live in the UK.
As the saying goes "one man's meat is another man's poison"
No Country on Earth practices "free HealthCare" someone or something is paying very heavy for it either through taxes(indirect payment) or through out of pocket( direct payment of insurance). Any healthcare that is free(without it being funded for) needs serious questioning because it must be that most people getting such healthcare is being provided the bare minimum level of care.
Now about the gun laws in the US...admit it has been experiencing some very weak loop-holes that bad and crazy people are using to cause serious harm to innocent people. It can't and will not remain that way forever...I am very optimistic about that. The sane and caring Americans( which runs in millions) value human lives to the max...however the sick and angry Americans care less about human lives...or even their own lives that's why in most cases you see them get killed by themselves or by law officers .
Now Trump at most can ONLY be President of the US for 8 years...and his chances of getting elected for another 4 years seems to be getting thinner by the day.
The US will be very Alright. No Country can do without the US even with all its flaws. Of course you are joking. American influence around the world is slipping away rapidly and it will soon be replaced by China. Iran can bring down your drone and America can’t even put out a sensible statement. The only weapon you have now is miserably tariff that hardly work. Your senate can’t even checkmate out of control president, subpoena disregarded, republicans are scared to even speak against the lying president etc |

This I can't live in America has to stop ,it's becoming very stale.no country begs other citizens to come live in their country and the US definitely is one of such. About gun violence, why crying more than the bereaved??.the citizens right to firearms is as same as right to life.its in their constitution.let UK and other European countries have same in their constitution and see the effect.the law enforcements are doing absolutely their best to curtail the fallouts because in every 12,there must be a Judas. About healthcare again,is there any prove to show those with free health care have access to better care than those who pays for it?.As I said,to each its own. Trump will not be president forever and if you are a doing it right citizen, you won't be bothered about what trump represents. What are you on about, that’s my opinion and you can only take it or leave it but you can’t tell me to stop saying it. I can’t live in gun crazy America, why do you have problem with that? |

DexterousOne: The number of American citizens who denounce due to FATCA are less than 2000 per year The stats are there
And it's lack of understanding of FATCA that make people do that
I am an accountant, so I know the way around it
Offsetting the tax against taxes in your country of residence will make you pay nil taxes to US most times Or something negligible (like if the tax rate where you live is less than the taxes in the USA )
I don t see FATCA as mych issue You just need to know your way
America has 51m + foreign born residents That should tell you something And I have also seen the stats of more Europeans moving and over staying in America Than Americans in the entire European continent
Too lazy to fivd the links and post here Take your time and find that link. You know better and have more resources than current UK prime minister? He denounced his American citizenship. |

Beautyaddy: Says Who
Your opinion about Democracy in the US as almost dead is definitely not true...believe it or not.
The Majority doesn't necessary speak for ALL ...and that is why the Electoral College made sure that everyone's voice be it the ones from the popular or less popular States get to speak for them either through Congress or the Presidency.(Checks and Balances at Play)
I want to believe that the fore fathers of the US already foreseen that if they allowed just the popular or majority States to determine how the country will be governed then some people and States will be left completely ignored. What is democracy then? America preaches democracy around the world but hardly practices one. European countries do call snap elections far quicker than America does typical example is the UK. I can’t live in America, stupid gun law, no value for human life, no free health care then to make matters worse you have trump |

I introduced a woman that supposed to travel to give birth in Brazil to someone who resides in Brazil. Unfortunately, she couldn't get the visa cos she's had her previous children in USA and was really desperate not to have a Nigerian citizen. However, she had her baby in Nigeria. She called d lady I introduced to her upon seeing this post of yours that she wants her hubby to get a tourist visa to Brazil, d lady should help her arrange a baby dat her hubby can claim as d father in order for him to get the PR. This means their last born dat was born in Nigeria can automatically get the Brazilian citizenship. Imagine such corruption from a desperate Nigerian . She has posted on this thread and I'm not scared to mention her here.Cc Justwise, Ifyalways. Go ahead and call the individual out |
