aye88: I dont agree with this. A lot of people here secured medical visa using correspondence from hospitals like oakbend or even sone cheaper or slightly higher options all below 10k snd their visa were approved. Now they find it hard renewing those visas. Because we are nigerians doesnt mean everything has to be our fault Some struggle to renew their visas for so many reasons..low hospital bill, withholding material fact during the interview etc are on that list. |

NIFES: I totally disagree with you on this please! Budget is different from actual and don't you forget that the budget sheets usual include all expenses ranging from flight (for you and LO), accommodation, feeding, processing of document et al. That aside, when did "cheap" become "fraud" all because of visa renewal if I may ask? And what law of economics says that your budgeted and actual expenses must always agree?
Let's be objective in our analysis and call a spade a spade!
If you travel to any country on vacation or business and get discounts on goods, does that automatically make you a criminal or violator of immigration rules.
For years now, Nigerians have been travelling to India for diverse medical treatments in relatively cheap facilities (hospitals) and no hell has broken loose yet.. So what makes the case of getting cheap medical treatment in the US a crime for Nigerians if not that these are deliberate acts to discourage birth tourism?
I also hope you are aware that most of the documents/drafts of these OB packages clearly state; as a clause that if insurance is discovered on the patient's name, the contract is voided.
So what's the crime?
The attitude that some of us portray on forums like these are examples of the type of poor governance we all are complaining of in "OUR" leaders. Most of us simple cannot stand for the truth. ...Once a seemingly superior person or group of persons (especially white skinned) take a negative stand on something, what most of us do is "follow follow" .
It is well. I don't expect many to agree with me on this because its a touchy topic. I'm not talking about your budget for transport, accommodation etc..i'm talking about actual delivery cost, the VO will not approve your visa if you told her that you will be paying little to nothing with discount, your visa was approved because you presented a budget fitting enough for child birth. Your last paragraph is quite frankly insulting and playing race card on this is shameful. Lets call a spade a spade most Nigerians are dishonest, fraudulent and crafty, we get so angry when called out. This is not about white superiority, this is about what many Nigerians are known for, we struggle to get a visa to many embassies including South African which is an African country |

I don't believe that the American embassy is targeting Nigerians regarding this birthing issue, we all know what the problem is here though some are playing a blinder.
How many people here have gone for an interview, declare child birth, present burden of proof, VO was convinced and issued a visa then you traveled , gave birth and paid exactly or above that amount you presented to VO during your interview and was unable to renew that visa?
I have lost count of how many times people come here to ask for cheap hospital or birthing centre after getting a visa, if you convinced the VO that you planned to spend $10-15K and got the visa but you decided to go for cheap and cheerful option then don't expect to get that visa renewed. |

Blackfinegirl: I have been a silent follower.
let me drop my transcript here.
I applied via drop box to renew my usa visa and I stated I was going for medicals. 221g letter was sent to me and I rescheduled for interview. Unfortunately a week to my interview I had pre term labour at 6 months and they could not keep the baby since he was not up to 7 months. I reschedule my interview due to health reasons after delivery.
Today I went for my interview at Abuja consular.
VO: When last did you go the usa. me: 2013
vo: how long did you stay? me: 2 to 3 weeks
vo: for what ? me: Christmas holiday
vo: who do you know? me: my brother
vo: how did he get to usa: me: visa lottery
vo: I can see you wanted to stay for three months, why? me: so I explained how i lost my baby at 6 months just before the interview, so i rescheduled.
vo; what does you husband do, how much does he earn? me: I answered her.
vo: what do you do? me: answered
vo: I can see you earn ...... me; yes i do and my salary has been upgraded this month to......
vo: will you have a baby within the next two years? me: yes of course.
vo: will use like to give birth in the us me: yes, if doctors gives me the go ahead to travel, due to my history.
VO: What countries have you visited me: Uk,France, Spain, Luxembourg, Netherlands ,Belgium, Uae, Gambia, Benin rep..etc
vo: okay, i will be giving you this visa, please pay all your bills and do not accept any discount. get your itemized bills and all the necessary receipts. me: yes i will
me: I asked her if i needed to inform them when next I get pregnant, she said no, but i should declare it at the point of entry, and have enough funds to cover my treatment.
Thank you lord for this victory, and for doing something for me to wipe away my tears. Congratulations!! You were honest and gave straightforward answer and you got the visa. |

petetherock: please i need help, i have posted this before but didn't get the response needed. I was denied UK visitor visa in 2013 under 320 7a because of a family photograph(parents and siblings) with a different background and it was seen as altered and deception was implored which was not the case because i had no idea that such a photograph will raise any dust. I was single then. Moving forward 6 years later am married to a Doctor and i have a son who is a U.S citizen. my wife is about to apply for Tier 2 to work as a Doctor in the UK and my son and i are her dependents. I was told that my previous visa denial under 320 7a will or might jeopardize the application Because denials under 320 7a is automatic ground for ban under 320 7b since it involves deception. I don't know how true this is , i was not given a ban, i was single then. As a family man whose circumstances has greatly improved with a wife and son and she is the principal applicant, i would like an expert opinion about this so we don't make any mistakes. we are almost there. Somebody please help !!!! That is true and your ban will kick in when you apply for visa again. You can still apply and be completely honest and apologetic about it, hopefully you be forgiven. |

justwise: 1.Did she declare child birth during the interview?
During our first visa interview, we made it know we were going for our anniversary. She just took in then. The VO asked specifically if we are going now to give birth. We said NO. So we travelled and came back three weeks later. She then travelled when she was about due.
2. How much did she pay for the delivery?
We paid all the amount we were told to pay, about $11K. We have zero balance statement/amount paid in full from the hospital, lab to obgyn etc
3. Was the second visit for child birth or holiday?
The second visit was for child birth after the first one wch she went alone and declared at POE coz they she went thru secondary interrogation. They wanting to know the doctor's name and whether we have paid the hospital bills. That will be an issue because you were asked and you said no then 3wks later you still use the same visa for child birth. Prepare well because that issue is likely to come up |

Jbaby09: Thanks a lot.. also does it matter if I apply days after my salary is paid? Would that be seen as lodgment?
As a business owner, Is it compulsory I add incorporation company documents to my application.
Lastly, the cover letter that states I’m the owner of the business and also spells out my salary, who signs it ? Cos I don’t have an HR person yet. It’s still a 1 man limited liability company. You can't convince the ECO that you pays yourself a salary as a sole business owner. Visa wise that makes no sense, in one man business winner takes it all.. what you make is profit and not salary. |

My advise to them; 1.write embassy and inform them that wifey is pregnant and they intend to put to bed since there is enough fund available.
Please gurus in the house, i will appreciate further advise to assist my friend. Book for another interview and declare your intention to give birth in US else you will have some issues renewing that visa |

DrStrangelove: Good morning House,
We just received 221G follow up interview for me and my wife. We wanted to renew our visas wch is expiring May 2nd. We applied for b1/B2 for the renewal and this will be our second renewal together. We gave birth in the US to our son in 2015 and she spent 5 months because of this. This was during her second trip to the US after our first we're we went for our vacation.
The vacation was for 3 weeks. Her stay during her second trip was for 5 months after which she came back. She declared at POE that she came to give birth during that time. I also travelled to go see them for about 5 weeks.
Afyer everything they came back home. Though I came back before them. We made sure we got zero balance statements for all the bills (hospital, obgyn, lab tests, anaesthesiologist, pediatrics etc). We then reapplied using Dropbox and we were both granted visas. This was early 2017. So we decided to travel when we would be chanced wch was going to be early December to late December. She later decided to go to London with my daughter to see her family there while me headed to the US to visit a friend. We both spent about a month on both places and came back.
We didn't travel throughout 2018 due various reasons. We now decided to travel in July 2019 to NYC to visit a friend. We chose Newyork as we have never been there before and wanted a change from the southern states. And also this would be first time our son is returning. This is the time we can get to get off work so we decided to reapply early so that we can start planning for the visit. Nothing has changed in our previous application. I run a consulting firm with my wife as a Legal/compliance manager. She is a lawyer with 7 yrs post call.
Now the issue is my wife is 2months pregnant. We don't really know what to expect as this has put us in a precarious situation.
I think what ticked them off was 1. My wife's 5 months stay 2. She not using the previous visa in the validity period 3. Or the destination of our visit to NYC ( we are visiting a family friend and this was stated in the application with details)
Pls advise.
Also we can't seem to get a date for the follow up interview as the embassy hasn't released dates for them yet. My appointment page for dates always comes up blank. Am hoping we get a close date as anything further might complicate our case. Pls advise 1.Did she declare child birth during the interview? 2. How much did she pay for the delivery? 3. Was the second visit for child birth or holiday? |

Please assist with your opinion on this. I submitted my UK visa application. My printed bank account statement had 7 months salary (but was for 6months), because 1month was paid late in the month, and it appeared when i printed my 6months statement, however I forgot to submit the payslip (as I only submitted payslips for 6Months). Do you think the source of this would be questioned, because this was the second transaction on the printed statement? Being that I receive monthly salary from my firm and my firm's name always appear as the sender.. thanks. I doubt that, you submitted 6months bank statement and payslip that should be ok |

Hello Justwise sorry to disturb. Please the applicant is travelling for 12 days vacation and the budget he estimated for ECO is 650,000 flight ticket for 280k, accommodation ( hostel) for 76,000 and the remaining balance for living expenses and shopping. Is the 650k ok or he should make it 700k. Please I will appreciate y response. Thanks Spending more than 2months of his salary will not help his application, let him look for a cheaper ticket so as to reduce the overall cost |

Please @Justwise, when travelling as a group for a program, is it a must the group should have their interview fixed on same day and same location.
