Killingmesoftly: Hello house. I need comments on these issues please. My sister in-law was assiting her younger brother to re-apply for UK visa and just yesterday a friend of my husband came to our house and from one talk to the other, we started talking of UK visa, so I mentioned about my sister in-law, how she was trying to reapply a visa for younger brother, the man started gisting me how he got his visa in 2012. He said that someone assisted him, he just went to Abuja with his documents and passport and was interviewed, in few weeks he got his passport with visa. I was very surprised, do tourist visa applicant go for interview ? He even said that most documents were fake but ended up getting it. He just said the man that helped him knows pple at the Embassy, I was so confused about his talk. Please are they some people that go through interview for tourist visa here in Nigeria? Is it in Nigeria that they put the visa sticker? He even gave me the connection of the guy for my sister in-law to use him, i called my sister in-law and linked her with the guy and he said he will assist but we are scared and beside I av not heard about Interview for tourist visa. So sorry for the long write up. . You should know too well that this is wrong and will lead to 10yrs ban from the UK? All that man wanted is to make money out of your sister inlaw by introducing her to the agent and you have succeeded in doing that. |

nahinbdis: Based on the realities that money no too plenty for this side, one of the options is to work 2 jobs, afterall Nigerians brag they can hustle. So na so I dey look this second job thing that has been offered to me:
Leave home by 8am for Job 1 that starts by 9.30am and ends by 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Then one hour bus home and arrive home by 7pm max.
Leave home 8pm for Job 2 that starts by 10pm and ends by 6am Sunday Night to Thursday morning. One hour bus home and arrive home by 7am.
Sleep time - 1hour at break time at night and anything that can be snatched during the day.
Is this feasible? You are going to kill yourself or have a serious health issue, no matter how strong you think you are you can't go against nature. You need to live to enjoy the money too |

salsera: There's a treasury bills and money market funds on nairaland.
It can be done online but I'd advise a trip to Nigeria to see one's account branch/officer before initiating. The two threads on nairaland are pretty informative.
However as others have said changing pounds to naira to pounds isn't wise.
But if you save cash in Nigerian accounts hen it's best to earn from it through either route Not planning to do that, the money will be spent in Nigeria. Will check out those threads |

dustydee: It took me about 5 years before finally deciding to take a credit card in 2017. I have not paid a dime in interest and the card has been very handy. I pay it off before it is due. I am now looking to get a rewards card so I can get extra benefit from it. I must add that having a credit card has not improved or reduced my credit rating. It has been about the same all these years.
Question: is it advise to get a bank loan and invest in Nigeria? e. g treasury bills and shares. I'm also interested in that info, i have heard people talk about TB but i really don't know much about it and how one can invest and make money from it |

Fekeri: @ justwise:
My visa application to the UK was refused and I got the letter today as I intend to visit a company I have been negotiating purchase deal with which sent invitation letter.
Although I have previously been refused for u explained deposit which was also not as seen by the ECO. sometimes salary comes the last date of the month or first day of the following month so it brought my salary to 8 salary payments in 6 months and that was reasonably understandable.
Apart from my salary I received 3 other deposit which was well explained. One being payment of my father’s landed property which was sold and money shared. And a refund of excess school fees from the school where I do weekend masters Programme. Another refund of 110k from the excess wall paper purchase to beautify my house. Apart from that there was no other deposit and these were all explained in the cover letter. But got refused initially.
This time the other deposit apart from my salary was the school fees refund showing the name of my school and the refund of 110k from the wall paper purchase.
The last deposit into the company account was 11th and the statement was printed 25th so how is this lodgement?
The company was not even contacted and here the refusal letter in the attached file. I feel the ECO based their decision on my previous application. But after the previous refusal I applied to spend the Xmas in Paris with family and got the visa and spent 10days with family in Paris.
Please gurus check and advise as I want to reapply to ensure the completion of the transaction.
I added the company account because they were paying for the trip. And I own the company with salary structure defined for myself (Director) and other staffs. Are you self employed? |

So aside that I work in a financial institution, there is daily inflow (Pos n transfer) into my business account though not huge funds cos I sell products ( have a sales girl for that) and render services to people which comes almost every weekend!(makeup) So it’s not like am just depending on my salary. Kindly advice so I will know the way forward. Its 50/50 situation, put the additional money you get from the business in a section for other source of income and submit the company's paper to support the source of that money |

Godwin590: Hello great minds Thank you’all for this interesting forum
Please I have a question, how long does it take banks to process international payment from here(Nigeria) to the UK?
I’m processing my school fees and my parent’s helping me. We went to our bank and I think it’s Form A they gave us or so. So filled everything both the receiving bank, my schools account and all. Since last two weeks my school has not yet received it. I went to the bank today they told me they’ve moved the payment to CBN since last week so the payment is with them and I just have to wait till they pay/transfers it off that school will get the Alert.
The whole wait is tiring and my CAS letter acceptance date is closing in.
I don’t know what to do You are not the only one experiencing this sort of delay, i really don't know why it takes this long but it used to be quicker than this. |

Micafe: its from the business. But since I’m getting paid every month a steady amount, should I have applied as a paid employer of that company. Bear in mind I own 95% of the shares and I’m a director. Also, the Bill of lading of the cars are in my name as consignee and after selling the cars, the payment goes into the business account.
I hope that did not add to the confusion?. Thanks for your help How many people are involved in this company? |

Lexusgs430: I never mentioned getting penalised....... If you read my initial position, i said credit card is not required to build credit history, but it could help build credit history....... ..you also said that paying up credit card balance in full will result in one's credit card been withdrawn.. credit does not work that way.. |

Lexusgs430: Paying back every month, also means you are using your card like a debit card, and not a debt card ........... It really palys no part in credit building ..........
A report placed on your file and other lenders might not like your financial habit/decision ................. It does play a part, you don't get penalized for being financially responsible. |

Micafe: Hi,
Thanks for your response. My salary is 950k monthly and I own the company with 95% of the shares. Its a limited liability so the company stands on its. As an importer and auto sales agent, I thought the best document to show the ECO the source of the money in the business account is to show the bill of lading I used in importing cars and after selling the car here in Nigeria, the payment goes to my business account and I get paid from the income of the business.
Please enlighten me.. what do you suggest I do? Is that salary from paid employment or from the business? |

I’m filling the application form for my one year old daughter, what should I input as amount planning to spend in the uk and how much she spends on living cost in a month?
Secondly for my application, at the section of other income, I earn 200k monthly and also get annual allowance...should I input the annual allowance on the other income section?
Thank you You need to cost the trip so as to be able to answer that question, calculate all the expenses that will help you answer questions regarding expenditure. Yes put it as other income |
