You must be very lucky.

Look at it this way , if the landlord pays for your reference and it comes out wrong or black listed , then the next tenant and the next one. Who will bear the cost? Like I said previously , the landlord might ask you to pay initially and later refund it back to you if it comes out all right. If the tenant is recommended then the landlord might not bother taking up a credit check.
Lucky for more than 10yrs? Why have i not won lottery..

It cost bloody nothing to get a reference from previous landlord, letting agencies charge for it because its a way making money.

No check by the NLA?
I’m sorry to ask, but are you talking about renting a room or renting a whole property?
I really don't know where you guys have being renting your house from, you lots got a lot of money to throw around.

Let me put it this way..from renting a room to studio flat to a house in Hampshire, in Bedfordshire and and Yorkshire, in all these counties i have lived in no single landlord/landlady has ever charged me for reference.

Bros don't be deceived you cannot enter Australia with such visa.

Really surprised to hear that you have that fear that you can be sacked in your working place.

Look traveling is a decision whether you are working or not.Mind you some went and successful and some are regretting.

My advice do not be desperate cos a desperado will always fall victim of scammers and right now as a victim you still want to be victim again, hope you can decode it and if not i fear.

Check responses to your post and read them again cos majority said is not possible but a post want to ginger you that is possible.

My man is not done anywhere to enter any country with different passport from country you claimed on your e visa.
Don't bother he will learn from the experience when he approaches the airport with that fraudulent passport and visa

Landlords that wish to protect their investments............
Landlord insurance is not taken out to protect landlords against the tenant, its the same way you insure your own house you live in, your gadgets, car or any priced part of your body.

My landlady insured her house yrs before i moved in even when it was unoccupied

Very well...... But if she has insurance policies to protect her against tenants. When it's time to make a claim, one of the documents the insurance company would usually request to see is.......... You guessed right......

Lexusgs430:
Instead of charging a rent of £500 pcm, the amount for referencing is bundled into the rental figure, thereby charging £505 pcm on a 12 month rental agreement.....
There is no way to know if that is the case because monthly rental figure does not come with a breakdown of charges.

This types of landlords are very few and far between...... Or she packaged/factored it into the rent.....

How will that work?

So are you saying the landlord would reference you at a cost to themselves or not bother referencing at all?

Requesting tenants immigration status, is a compulsory legislation that UKBA enacted.... Failure to adhere to this regulation could attract a fine of about £3K.....
Yes. My landlady contacted my previous landlord and my employer and i paid £0000 for it

Really shocked cool shocked I did not know this oo, but haven't seen this search options for private LL on Zoopla and right move. How do we get this?
You are searching in a wrong place, use gumtree and select private landlord OR place an ad in gumtree(free) and drop your contact detail people with a house to rent will contact you including letting agencies and scammers.

I'm telling you this from personal experience, immediately i placed my ad on gumtree a scammer contacted me for a house to rent then i asked for details and pictures of the house and that was sent to me in no time.

It a lovely house and the deposit was very reasonable, he told me that he wanted somebody who will look after the house because he is always traveling bla bla bla, when i looked at the address of the property i discovered that i know the street which is just few minutes walk from my house and the email he contacted me with in gumtree was different from the one he used when sending me the property details.

Then i knew that if ran a search with the gumtree email nothing will come out because gumtree would have probably done that too.

When i ran a search with second email i came across many victims of his scam from all over the UK including US then i contacted gumtree to report it.

The rest of people who contacted are genuine and one of them is my current landlady.

Lexusgs430:
You put it so succinctly.........

All landlords would demand a deposit (which must be protected),all landlords would reference (at a cost to the tenant) + the landlord would have to pay an estate or similar, to conduct referencing (at a cost to the tenant) + plus the landlord paying a retainer fee to the estate agency (cost carefully bundled into the rental agreement)...

The beauty of an Estate agent, if any issues arises you would simply call the estate agent to rectify....

If you privately rent, and your landlord resides abroad. And all the landlord wants is their rent.... I need not say any more...
That is factually incorrect, not all landlords ask for a fee for referencing, when you are dealing with private landlord you bypass ALL charges from the middle-man(letting agent).

Only two landlords have ever asked me for reference for more than 10yrs i have being renting starting from my student days till date.

I recently moved house and my landlady requested for the longest list of requirements that i have ever asked to submit..6months bank statements and payslips, employer's contact details, previous landlord contact details, credit check and evidence of my status here, i was not asked to pay a penny for any of these including credit record check.

Try that with letting agency and see how much it will cost you.

Only a crazy landlord would put a tenant in his property without referencing. After watching tenants from hell its a big risk. What most reasonable landlords would do. Is ask you to pay for the reference if it comes out clean then it gets deducted from your rent. If not you will end up with a tenant who will use your property to grow weed etc.

No landlord has ever asked me to pay for referring, yes they ask for it but they don't ask you to pay for it but letting agency does that is the difference.

hello all, please I want to ask if anyone has gotten Australia visa using a resident permit of an European country. my agent just sent my visa to me why the travel document stated on the visa is the Norway resident card, though I have log to Australia site to confirm the visa, but am not clear on this Norway resident card number stated on the visa. anyone has similar experience, please enlighten me
The visa your agent gave you will land you in trouble if you approached any airport with it.

You are not a Norwegian, you never traveled or lived in Norway before but you are holding a visa with a Norwegian document?

The name on marriage certificate shows my name as ADEYEMI OLABODE While her name was written as AKINYEMI DEBORAH. But now that we are married her name supposed to be ADEYEMI DEBORAH. Her current passport was issued before we got married and it shows her name as AKINYEMI DEBORAH
This is not actually difficult but your explanation makes it so.

Let me get this clear..is the name in marriage certificate now ADEYEMI DEBORAH? You are saying it 'supposed' to be as if a different name is written there.

If you are married now and the name written there is ADEYEMI DEBORAH and your own name is ADEYEMI OLABODE then there is no problem.

Present your marriage certificate and use the blank space in the form for additional info to clarify things...that she got that passport before you got married.

When that passport expires she will get another one that reflects the name in her marriage certificate.

1.What is her name before marriage?

2. What is the name in marriage certificate?

buddiemm:
1) Her name before marriage is AKINYEMI DEBORAH and its the name on her current passport which I habe been writing on my application as spouse name.

2) My surname is ADEYEMI. My own name is ADEYEMI OLABODE

PPlease Gúrus in the house help a sister out, i need your urgent response as regards this issue.

When requesting for emergency papers to travel out of UK at the Nigerian High commission London, do they normally request for the Bio Data of your Next of Kin?
I suspect my sister is being used, her God mother whom i suspect is living in the UK illegally suddenly requested for her Bio data, and when i sort to know the lady (God mother) said she only used her details for next of kin.

I wrote the below message to her

(Sister, I intended to travel to the UK by September/ October this year. I should have told you earlier. But I wanted to take you by surprise, that was why, I didn't bother to inform you.
In case you are using my name for something else , please make sure it dose not affect me at the airport or any jurisdiction within the UK. It shouldn't be in anyway be on the system of immigration, or police because I haven't being the UK yet. Thanks in anticipation of your cooperation.)

Her responses
(Well about the info u have today, I only used in a form with Nigerian High commission London as my sister in Nigeria, not with UK govt. The Doc to travel which they gave me does not mention any of your details including name. The form was also submitted in hard copy and not online.
It's like a "mini passport" of limited value.
On that basis there4, u should be death with in your individual capacity based on evidence which u provide.)

Any truth here. Pls i need elightment,
I can't find any info to support the request for data page of a relative in Nigeria regarding ETC application but i don't think your sister should worry about that but should keep details of all the conversations between her and the GOD mother just in case things get messy in future

Hello guys

Thanks for all your contribution here. Is been very helpful. I have been issued 6months Visa and would be travelling this Friday.

I'm thinking of cancelling my hotel booking used in processing d visa. Will this affect me in any way and Wats the screening at d border like? Just curious cos is my first time of travelling to d UK. Don't want any issue

Thanks
If you are stopped and questioned at the POE why you cancelled your hotel chances are that you will be in the next available flight back to Nigeria.
