Kcwarren: @justwise and other gurus here Pls help!!!
My sis has just been denied visa on the basis of claiming 0point in the maintenance( which we submitted a statement of acc that has 10mil after paying 50% of her tuition already. Also, it was stated that the statement submitted is more than 31 days( did we make mistake by not printing a new statement? Mind u we used the same SOA sent to sch before cas was sent that still has over 10m till date
What is the best possible way to get this sorted since her school resumes second week of Sept. Pls how can we package this again and get a positive outcome? Your sister did not follow student visa rules hence the refusal. She can reapply and submit a fresh bank statement and pay for priority service so as to get her visa before or by month end |

abuhusna1: Why not go to Canada cos the it has more prospect than UK that will send you home after your study. Hope you know it's a must to return to your home country as a common wealth scholar Why would he reject a scholarship opportunity? |

Phocusjosh: The document checklist was generated before going to TLS. Only three documents were stated on the checklist.
Also, how can UKVI be contacted? Check the embassy website. Phocusjosh: I was denied Canadian study permit last year, then reapplied in March this year and got two years visa in June. Now, I don't feel like going to Canada because I got Commonwealth shared scholarship (fully funded) which is tenable in UK. I declared the above while filling the Tier 4 application.
My question is, will UKVI frown at my Canadian study visa?
@justwise I. Don't see that as a problem |

Thanks @ekpotek and @justwise. The reason: am not satisfied these docs( ref to hubby’s bank statement) evidence ur income. Though ur business exists but they do not verify ur personal income/ the funds in d account are generated from this employment. Incoming transaction is more than declared income. As such not satisfied he intends to leave Uk after d visit.
By extension me and my kids got refused.
If a business man has 1m incoming into his Acct does that mean d 1m is his income? No. That’s why I think the eco’s reason for refusal is flimsy. .Is your husband a business man and present his business account for you and your kids visa application? |

Phocusjosh: After submission of visa application, a document checklist was generated and degree certificate was not stated. Degree certificate was only stated on his CAS Statement. Yes that was because you did not submit it. You can try your luck by contacting the embassy to see if you will be asked to send it else you need to pray long and hard about the outcome because it could lead to a refusal. |

Phocusjosh: Please, I need clarification. A friend of mine submitted his Tier 4 application at TLS Ikeja on Friday but forgot to include his degree certificate because it was not stated on the documents checklist. Can he be refused based on that or UKVI will request for additional document? Or what do you advise he can do at this moment.. @justwise Phocusjosh: It was stated on his CAS e Which one? |

blueheart: Good afternoon @Justwise
I applied for a visiting visa and I did my biometrics on 5th July. Till now I am yet to get a response concerning my application.
My question is that:
Is it necessary or overdue that I should contact them due to the late turnaround time.
If yes, how do I go about it? I meant is it by mail or a visit to the Lagos centre or i may have to ring them. Thank you.
Grateful assist If you don't hear from them by this coming Friday then you can email them. |

bimbyabim: Good Evening house, this is my first time on Uk thread. I have gone thru several pages to see if any one has a refusal case similar to mine but didn’t see. I applied for Uk visa for my family sometime in Feb and my hubby being the sponsor. That wasn’t our first visa- we’ve had several Uk visas issued to us but we had a break (abt 8yrs)from visiting uk. Lo and behold for the flimsiest reason we were denied and slammed with No appeal and no administrative review. We however heard That we can ask for a review becos it was too obvious eco probably got things mixed up. Now my request: @ justwise @frontpagelawyer and all the gurus in house, what email ad can I sent my plea for review to. Thanks for your response. What was the reason for the refusal? |

BigIyanga: Did you not read terms and conditions stating that payment of application fee doesnt guarantee visa? So Naija universities offer u admission once u pay application fee?? You are not following the argument to the post you quoted, you probably need to read back again to see why you are asking me the wrong question. |

resurgent2019: I understood what you are saying. But in this case, the questions related to issues of law. The answers are the same the world over. My friend said he answered them correctly but the visa officer was asking irrelevant questions about why he chose the school he chose(completely unrelated to the grant of a student visa). The fact is that there is a standing order to deny genuine Nigerians American visas due to the misdeeds of other Nigerians who are abusing their visas.
The US should come out straight to issue a statement that there is a reduction in the number of visas to be issued to Nigerians henceforth. That is better than taking visa fees from Nigerians and still deny them the visas. It is a very simple matter oo. It is their country and they reserve the right to deny foreigners access to it. But they should honest about your consular objectives and policies regarding Nigeria! Why not admit that you don’t know jack about student visa interview? That question is completely relevant and any serious student will prepare to give a convincing answer. I actually feel sorry for your friend. |

Beautyaddy: I really do understand the frustration but believe it that Nigerians are not the only applicants going through the very strict and scrutiny of visa interviews with low approvals rates. Most applicants who come from countries that have very high visa abuser rates are...China and India comes to mind. You are too generous with your time |
