That is the main issue here, you have to convince the ECO that you actually work there and the money in your account comes from your work.

@Justwise, thank you for your response.

The proposed fund for the trip is about 600,000.00. Feeding and accommodation will be taken care of by my in-law.
I don't think that is realistic, how much will flight cost for 3 people?

Seriously. you're very dull! I can't believe someone can be this daft and ridiculous at the same time. What are you on really? Despite all the efforts made by several people to make you see things the way they are yet you stubbornly refused to see their point of view. You rather stick to your almighty opinion because you're the omniscience of everything about the UK. Like I said, just look for another thread to troll, people like you bore me to death with your pseudo-intelligence.
Dude you are completely uninformed, i refused to be as gullible as you are. You believed the dribbles they fed you with.. fine! then move on and stop trying to convince me about nothing. I have my own option and i'm within my right to express it and stick to it, if you don;t like it then tough!

Just come off your ''I know it better than everybody'' high horse because you know nothing! The OP has made his message very clear and I don't know in the life of me why it is difficult for slow people like you to get the main crux of his post. You're here embarrassing yourself in the name of trying to show you know it all. Stop acting as if you're the repository of all information about the UK. The OP message is simple and well understood by those it was intended for, so how about you just sod off and look for another thread to troll?
Honestly i don;t have time for your type today, you are really clueless that is exactly why you swallowed all the porkies from the op.

Why are you contradicting yourself? What is the essence of this thread? Isn't to make information available to people to read and make an informed decision? Why then are you and some people here against the OP? Please, we need this kind of information in the public space so that people will have enough information. It is shocking that people are making snide comments about the OP.
Another gullible soul, I'm not contradicting myself i'm basically saying that the op and few people here are misleading you.

Are you in Abuja? Let me take you out for a drink. grin

This is what I've been saying! If them born them well, let them include the caveat on the website that just 1% of international students work, lets see who will dash them money to cater to their citizens! I'm just tired of the senseless arguments gan!

You know the worst part for me? These defenders are people that I respect and used to follow gullibly but now that I see that I'm wiser than them on nairaland, I would start doubting everything they say! Just Imagine if I hadn't experienced this thing first hand, I would have out-rightly believed them, chai! mumu no good sha!

The reason for your your distress and irritation is clearer now...it is because people have taken potshots at your dear beloved UK govt, because of its policies. Afterall, the UK govt is perfect and can do no wrong in your eyes...not so? shocked

Oh, you didn't see the word 'restricted', before you went up in arms all over this thread.... huffing and puffing and trying to defend the UK govt's policies? I dey laugh.... cheesy Ok, I hope the UK govt gives you an award for the way you have defended them, on this thread. Next!
Distress and irritated? What loads of porkies! Direct that dribbles to people who invested millions and still jobless because they failed to do their home work before coming here to study

I am still trying to find out the reason for your angst. undecided The OP as well as a few others have made their points clear, about how the lack of job opportunities in the the UK after graduation, does not make studying in the UK an attractive option, especially after paying those huge fees for their degree programmes - degrees which could also be acquired elsewhere, at a cheaper cost.

Probably because UK schools do NOT stress this aspect enough during the application process, a lot of people may stil have a wrong impression about the possibilities of working there, after graduation. Now that a searchlight is being beamed on this aspect, some of you chaps are getting worked up because you see it as a slight on your dear revered Great Britain. Why? huh I believe all schools should include a caveat in their prospectus/brochure that says international students will NOT get jobs on graduation, except if they have studied medicine or engineering. That way, everyone is on the same page.... sad my 2 cents!

Yeah....attending UK schools should NOT be a priority for Nigerian students at this time, especially when there are equally good and cheaper alternatives in other countries. undecided
Keep trying you eventual get your head around it, couldn't make myself any clearer.

Silly!

I get offered 45k jobs on a weekly basis because of my expertise, degree, credentials and the fact that I don’t need a sponsor. Like, I literally have to mail them apologising that I’m not in the UK at the moment.

You can insist on what you want to believe, that’s ok, but saying that it didn’t work out for me without acknowledging the fact that it didn’t work out then because I needed a sponsor shows a funny level of intelligence.Show this thread to the sweetheart that got the Barclays job, I’m sure she’s smart enough to interpret the thread for you.

I mean, if it couldn’t work out for someone jay got a personal recommendation from a Prof emerita to work at an IT company, I don’t know who it can work out for.
grin grin grin dream is such a wonderful thing you know?

They are not stupid, the same way you know that it didn’t work out for me is how they would know.

Until the UK relaxes their sponsorship requirements and increases the sponsorship slots for organisations, it should be the last destination for all Nigerian students! And bet me, they would relax the employment laws because they need the internationals students to keep going to their country.

Cheers!
Good, invest your money in universities in Nigeria and let the UK sort itself out.

Duh! That is kinda what the thread is about, uncle. Now I believe saouri, you are just doing this for attention! You’re literally contradicting yourself all in one thread.

And no, the UK doesn’t give you the opportunity to work, that’s a fact, as organisations have limited slots for foreigners and pay huge taxes to keep the foreigners, so organisations would rather use the slots for experienced professionals.

Don’t believe me, that’s fine, argue with me when you do a master’s between 2014 and 2017! And if you don’t like my fact, come and beat me in my house!
They do but it did not work out for you.

Why must it be done privately? Why would people not apply for VOA directly without going through pm?

Isn't it better for them to look for a country to study and get some small experience and possible residency?
I don't understand you Mr Justwise
The U k gives you the opportunity to work if you have what it takes, again why did you not go to those countries where job opportunities and residency is guaranteed?

At least I would use up 1 million for a masters (worse case scenario) and save the remaining 7 million for a business in Nigeria. That way, I would even become a provider of labour.

Now, do you understand what the thread truly is about? Tbf, I’m not sure I care anymore if you do, because it’s pretty obvious you want to misconstrue the intentions of this thread.

Since the UK govt owes us nothing, let my people sit at home or go to a country that will allow them work. The UK should keep its education to itself.
You should have done that before coming to the UK to waste your money and time

. Don't misinform people. Only 1 out of 800 foreign student will get a job that can sponsor their visa. VERY FEW PEOPLE GET A JOB. After your masters you have about 3/4 months before your visa expiration which of course is not renewable except you get someone to marry so how can you get a job when you have to leave almost immediately? UK MASTERS NA WASTE OF MONEY
You are contradicting your own beer parlour statistics, tell me where that statistics is published.

You don't start looking for a job after graduation, your job hunt starts after your last semester, basically while you are writing your last project.

There are job seminars everywhere if you spent your time wisely and not on dating websites or night club looking for granny to marry you.

If you have failed woefully to get one there are people who were able to secure one and their Msc certificate is pretty useful

BossLaifay:
Lets not all come here and deceive ourselves. The truth of the matter is the chances of getting a job are slim. The truth is majority of people going to study in the UK (or anywhere for that matter) hope to get the opportunity to get some experience after school and possibly remain as a legal immigrant. But in the UK that is hinged on a sponsor and trust me its very very slim. I do know this for a fact because I researched my ass off at a point. And was refused a couple of jobs after interviews.
So please give the OP a break. He is just telling people not to go with that mind set to the UK. THEY WILL MOST LIKELY NOT GET JOBS!!!
Study in Nigeria where you are guaranteed a job after graduation.
