Good day just wise and other gurus in the house..

I intend travelling to the u.k for the first time on vacation. My actally date of travel was supposed to be last month but I had to shift it to this month because of work.

My question is, in my form I stated that I will be visiting London for a one week stay. But now I want to just spent one night in london and head to Dublin to see my cousins I intend spending 2 weeks. My cousin has already booked a return bus ticket to take me from london to Dublin the second day after I arrive (and back in 2 weeks) as I want to visit a lot of attractions in london. I need to to state that I did not declare that I have any family member in the UK.

I have also booked a hotel for my one night stay in London. I will also be traveling with about $2500 for shopping and pocket change. .

I hope the Point of entry officer will not raise issues
Not keeping your story/record straight when applying for visa does not help your immigration record.

1. You stated that you will be staying in London for one week but now you want to spend a night and spend 2 weeks in Dublin.

2. You stated that you don't know anybody in the UK but now want to visit your cousin for 2 weeks who lives in the UK.

There is a reason why many Nigerians find it difficult to get a visa and that reason is obvious.

Good day House,
Please I still need help on the matter i earlier raised. At justwise et all pls i need ur assistance urgently.

I, my wife and 2 children applied for a two years visa (visitor), on the TLS website i linked all the applications together and on the 13th we all did our biometrics in VI centre.
Since then i have been tracking the applications on the TLS website. On Tuesday i received email from TLS that a decision has been made on my application and my daughter and that our passports would be returned via courier. On the TLS website i also noticed that a decision was yet to be made on my Wife and Son even till this morning.
Curiously my passport has been returned with a 2 year visa but my Daughters Passport which shows that it has been dispatched by courier is yet to be returned.
So please has someone else experienced this kind of thing coz the last tym we applied our passports were all returned once.
I have been trying to contact teleperformance but cant get their number.
Have you visited their office to check?

Thnx Justwise, i think it's better to ask the questions once and for all as you are a busy person. Like I said I already have a Visa, I will be financially responsible for my wife and 2 kids Holiday expenses. I'm an Estate Surveyor with my own company,my wife's name is listed as the second director with the same share as me on CAC form, the company account has me as the sole signatory,I pay VAT and Annual Income company Tax. Occasionally i do transfer to my wife's account from company's account for foodstuffs and kids well being, she is not working..... I've my current and savings accounts.WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED SIR. Thnx as usual.

No it does not, you can over stay in the UK for upto 90days without any problem but don't forget to declare this in the form when asked.

Though i think that rule was changed recently but since your over stayed before the new rule comes in you will be fine.

Declare it and state like you did here why you and your family overstayed.
This thread is full of list of documents needed for tourist visa from part 1 to this part. Please read few pages back.

Since you will be sponsoring the trip many of the documents will be coming from you.

Thanks Justwise, I didn't find your question intrusive in any way. According to my pay slip, my monthly take home after tax and after a loan repayment of 37k that ends next month is 185k. Keep in mind that this is after about 40% of my annual salary has been paid at the beginning of the year and I also receive more than 100k monthly as allowance which is not reflected in my pay slip as well as some other allowances that are in certain months. So you can understand that I don't receive a fixed amount as salary monthly hence my confusion on what to fill as my monthly salary.
I know I would have to do a lot of explaining on the covering letter, I just hope the ECO will not just try to verify what I filled as my salary only from my pay slip without reading my covering letter.
More guidance on this or any part of my application would be appreciated. Thanks
You just have to outline a breakdown of cost for the trip and list places you and your wife want to visit while in the UK.

I think I remember how to link in UK application except things have changed. When you log in, there is a tab that says "Apply for yourself" and another says "apply for someone else". Apply for yourself and then for your spouse.

Its about 3 years ago I last applied. Please let me know if the process is different.

@dcutey
ekpotek has clarified that, people complained of not been able to link form when the new application form was introduced i guess that has been sorted out now.

Travel › UK Airport Runway Blocked By Activists To Stop The Deportation Of Nigerians by justwise(mod): 5:55am On Mar 29, 2017
Up to 12 ctivists broke through security at Stansted Airport tonight and chained themselves together on the runway to stop failed asylum seekers being deported.
The left-wing activists were trying to stop a flight taking up to 100 immigrants back to Nigeria and Ghana.
The runway was closed at about 10pm resulting in eight flights being diverted to other London airports. But by 11.30pm the airport was running as normal.

The protesters were part of three groups called End Deportations, Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants and Plane Stupid.
They were heard chanting: 'No borders, no nations, stop deportations'.
One of the activists blocking the runway, Emma Hughes, said she was trying to prevent families from being separated.

Thank you for reverting @justwise.

To clarify, there is a checklist you print after filing the online application and you tick as appropriate in relation to the document you are attaching to your application.

One of the items in the checklist is evidence of family members remaining in home country while I travel to the uk.

So my question is what kind of evidence can I provide for the above given that I am still single with no marriage certificate/children birth certificate. I only have my parents.

Thank you
Non. If you don't have any then you don't submit. You must not submit everything on that checklist, you submit only what is applicable to you.

Justwise, like I stated in my previous post our salaries vary due to the nature of our jobs. For example, none of us has received the same amount in the last six months and it's going to continue like that. I'm not really asking to be told our chances of securing visas, I'm only asking how our applications should be filled as regards the financial section considering we both don't have fixed salaries (should we just calculate the average of six month payslip we plan to submit), how our applications can be linked, whether we both can select co-sponsor since we are using funds from our many accounts. Should we also divide and allocate cost of the trip in each application based on our salaries?

Our budget for the trip is about 700k i.e 550k as flight cost (qatar is $1,719.4 at N312.18/$ according to oanda) and 150k as local transport+sight seeing+miscellaneous. Accommodation and feeding will be borne by my wife's family in the UK that's why I omitted those costs.
I guess you don't understand why i asked that question, i'm sorry if you found it intrusive, moving on...

1..should we just calculate the average of six month payslip we plan to submit? No you present your salary as its supported by your payslips and explain the method of salary payment by your company.

2.How our applications can be linked? I don't think you can link the application forms, you have to apply separately at the same time and use the earliest appointment date to submit both applications.

3. whether we both can select co-sponsor since we are using funds from our many accounts? Yes you can

4. Should we also divide and allocate cost of the trip in each application based on our salaries? You don't have to do this since this is a family trip. Let the total cost of the trip be stated in both application forms and use the additional information page to explain that its a family trip.

Spending 700k or 1M will depend on your monthly income hence my initial question

How can all the state governors be corrupt or are you insinuating that all Nigerians are corrupt?

You are so quick to pass judgement on everyone and everything Nigerian. Your decision to leave this country was personal and if I am supposed to believe you are enjoying your new country then you shouldn't express such intensely negative perceptions about ours.

We still have a few good men and women and if yu haven't been around the states you are not qualified to pass judgement smiley

I'm over qualified to pass judgment about Nigeria and Nigeria is deeply corrupt from federal capital to states.

Hi Everyone, @Justwise et all I appreciate all your humanitarian services, you're indeed a source of blessings to people like me over years. Please I'm confused and I do not want to make mistake, this summer I'm thinking of taking my family to Edinburgh festival, I have 2 yrs visiting visa myself which i got last year when i went for a conference, My wife and 2 kids needs visa, my first child and my wife travelled with me in 2014 as dependants on my postgraduate student visa and my second child was born in UK during my study period. However I left UK immediately after graduation because of work and my wife was waiting for NHS appointment date for the circumcision of my son who was born in UK, they waited 2 months without results before we decided we would do it in Nigeria and they left for home after overstaying for about 60 days. At the airport in UK no form was filled and no stamps was given, SO DOES THIS ATTRACT A BAN IF THEY APPLY THIS TIME?.

Hello justwise

great day, just decided to send it here again, pls I will need ur experience and guidance, so sorry to bother u

I will highlight them one after d other

1.i ve an elder brother in uk,, he had been there 4 a while and sent an iv to me, in fact the iv letter was dated march 20 2017
2.He has all necessary documented permits and a house in his name. And he has written that he is sponsoring the trip
3.I want to aplly for family visit to visit him for like 3 weeks schedule for July 2017
4.pls if I apply online now for instance, like when will my interview date be 7
4.i had applied before, like 8yrs ago and was refused,, then I was working in a bank, wher I worked for like 9yrs, I left banking like 4yrs banking, went to A merica and returned back on the specied time for me to return,3wks, though d visa had expired now
5.Since I left banking basically to obey and start the work of God ,, in church ministry,,, that I ve been doing, but with little businesses, poultry farming business.
6.I am married with 3 kids in secondary and primary sch ages, and my wife does business.
7.I have an account that does not ve a big balance as I dont receive salaries, but jus my poultry sales tansactions and personal transaction,,, but the present balance is less than 200k
.

I dont want to make any error and want to be on a good experience guide, just to visit him after 13yrs and return to my cleric job and my family because he was sick sometimes and operated upon.

my needs

1.pls, my own account issue will it matter as I dont get salary and not paid anywhere, and cannot falsify figures
2.the iv leter was dated 20th march, likewise some of d document he sent,, how soon or late dan I apply
3. Pks can u guid me in d financial index analysis, as in how much 4 ur trip, how much u earn, how much u spend on income etc,,, because of my status, honestly I dont know how to go about it
4.like how much do I need to have in my account 4 d trip..
4.pls generally what do u think about the plan and chances I ve,,, pls I dont want to make mistakes,,, any other information u need, will be supplied
This is one trip you can't afford to make, at the moment your tie to Nigeria is not strong enough because you don't have steady source of income and you have responsibilities.

This trip will cost you and your family at least half a millions naira and you don't have this available in your account.

Personally rather than spending all your saves to apply for visa and 'possibly' ticket to the UK invest this money in your poultry business or your wife's business for a better profit, even if your brother is ready to sponsor your lack of tie to Nigeria will be an issue.

Hello everyone, I've been following this thread and I must confess that I've learnt a lot thanks to Justwise and other contributors.

However, I didn't come across some questions which apply to my situation and I would appreciate your inputs as I plan to apply for standard visitor's visas for my family.

The main purpose of this trip is for our 3 month old baby spend some time with my wife's family in the UK as he's their first grandchild. We don't have sufficient fund for the trip in one particular account so we would like to combine all our accounts both personal and joint for the application in order to stand a better chance at obtaining the visas. Is it better to transfer all the fund into one account or leave them the way they are and explain in a covering letter? Should we both select co-sponsor in the application? For the cost of the trip and amount available for the trip, should we both input the total cost of the trip as a family in our individual applications or should I input this amount in my application while my wife inputs zero or should we divide the total amount between us and input an amount based on our account balances. I also read somewhere that our applications can be linked, please how is that done and which of the UK visa application sites allows this?

Also, our salaries are never the same in any two months based on the nature of our jobs and in addition, I usually receive a big percentage of my annual salary at the beginning of the year while the rest is spread over the year. Should we take an average of our salaries for the six months we would submit our bank statement as our monthly salaries or should it be an average of our total annual salaries?
1.How much do you and your wife earn as salary monthly?

2. What is your budget for the trip?
