From Bossladymo1 to all especially those expecting her responses:

"I have been banned till 2025 for spamming. All I did was put up a post about a 'coup' that happened on a foodies group I belong to on Facebook. So I will not be able to reply any questions directed to me. Cheers!"
Have she tried posting here? Ban by mods only affect that section only and not the whole nairaland only if she was given global ban by the administration

Hi Justwise and co, I would really appreciate some help on the following issue:

I’ll be traveling to the UK in September to start a 1yr MSc program; I would like my wife and 2 kids to visit me for about 10 days during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
We’ve budgeted about 1.1 Mill for the trip:
Travel costs for 1 adult+ 2kids: 580,000
Accommodation: 350,000
Feeding and shopping: 200,000

My wife will make the application for the UK visitor’s visa in October, for herself and the 2 kids:
Her circumstances are as follows:

She has been working with a national NGO for about 5yrs.
She has a valid 2yr US visa
Salary after tax: 300K
Salary account will have a balance by October of: 2.3 mill
Savings account (in her name): about 1Mill (the account was opened about a yr ago and since then there has been no significant inflow or outflow)
Her salary account doesn’t have much outflow as per expenditure as I’m responsible for monthly expenses (When I Leave for the UK in September she will start having regular monthly expenditure).
My circumstance:
I am starting an MSc in the UK in September, after I resume I will be inviting my wife and kids to the UK.
I have paid my school tuition in full and I have a tier 4 visa.
Presently I am working but I will resign in early August.
My salary account has a balance of 6.85 mill (which includes my maintenance funds while in the UK, since I’m not going to be in London it comes to about 820x12months=9840GBP roughly about 3mill naira).
This means I have a balance of about 3.8mill after deducting my living expense.

Please consider the following options:

Option A:
I transfer the cost for the trip (1.1Mill) into her account and she will explain while applying for the visa on the blank space for ‘any other information to be considered as part of the application’ where the lump sum is coming from: The explanation would be I am sponsoring the trip as her husband I think this would be acceptable.. I would also be named as the sponsor in the visa application….What do you think? In this case would I need to provide 6 months bank statements, and payslips? Remember that I would have resigned in August and she’d be applying for the visa in October, this means I would be able to give her payslips from April to July I wouldn’t have any slips for August and September…..

Option B
She applies for the visa using both her own statements of account (salary and savings)…. And she indicates she will be responsible for the cost of the trip in the visa application…

Which one do you find most suitable? do you have any other option as to how to go about applying for the visa considering our circumstances I’m open to suggestions..
Thanks! smiley
Your layout plan is good, the combination of A n B will be good

OLANIJA:
Good afternoon all,

Visa Refusal :

I have Indefinite leave to remain and my ex husband is a British citizen .

We had 2 kids together and they were born In Nigeria and they have lived all there life in Nigeria . Aged 8 and 6 respectively .

We applied for a 6 months visiting visa for the kids and they were refused .

We stated in the application that the children will return to Nigeria at the end of a 5 weeks holiday and that in the near future we have the intention of bringing them permanently to the UK.

The application was refused and We are not given any right of appeal and no administrative review .

The only reason for the refusal is "Due to your aim to also want to settle in the UK , I am not satisfied that you are intending to visit the UK for a short time as stated"
"I am not satisfied that you meet all of the requirement of paragraph 4.2 (a) and (b) and 4.11 of appendix V . "

Ques:

1.What are the kids chances if I reapply straight away to reiterate that the kids will return to Nigeria.

2. Do I have to apply for settlement visa for the kids despite the fact that our intention at this moment is just for the kids to visit for Summer holiday ?

Pls guys , I look fwd to Ur advice on how to go about it .
Why not apply for settlement visa for them since both parents are British?

Congrats. I know there is a rule of no sharing of contacts and advertising of agents on this thread. Then again, the question is, how can one get information on trusted agent, especially from UAE that a member(s) of the thread have done business with successfully. Yes, there is emirates, there is dubaivisa.net, but their requirement are sometimes scaring. Guys just want to come to dubai and hustle and gain some international experience, after gathering some cash, these people (dubaivisa.net) will be requesting for such a lengthy paper works; 6months salary slip stamp, sign and sealed, 6months bank statement,or a deposit $1500, etc. If you are privilege to have all these documents, fine. But if you don't have them and you have the cash that will comfortably take you to dubai, what do you do then? That is why i think that, as it is good to do it yourself(DIY), it also good to get help from some trusted agent(s) that guys have successfully done business with. It is on this ground that I wish to ask @heywhytech1, Once again congrats.
~Paul
We don't encourage or recommend agents here, we have been saying this for 3 yrs now so stop asking for one.

Why did your plans change? And how soon after the interview did they change?

These are all things you should consider - when someone goes to a visa interview and is granted a visa for a purpose, that doesn't mean you show up somewhere else with a different purpose. That was not the intent in issuing your visa...

Aside from the fact that it was the wrong time and place to make a joke about staying for as long as you can, there are a LOT of questions surrounding when anyone shows up at POE with a different intent than when they applied for a visa.
Visaofficer ^^ responded to you and you are still asking for experts? He is a visa officer from American embassy in Lagos

Find your way to Abuja Immigration office, atleast that's what everyone with pp issues here have done.

@Justwise
I would like to use this opportunity to appreciate you for your last advise concerning my appeal hearing. We wrote a letter to the tribunal informing them that we are not using our lawyer again that my husband will be my representative, 16days after the hearing day, I got a letter of determination on 26th July, 2015 that I'm allowed meaning that I won the case. My hubby write a letter to the embassy and he attached the determination letter and I wrote them a letter 4 days after. The embassy rang me last week that I will be having an interview tomorrow that I should come with my passport alone.

Gurus, please what does that mean? Will they do another interview for me?
Congratulations! Really happy for you.

There is nothing to worry about, go for the appointment

By next month you can do introduction and by the end of the year trad and white wedding.

If you're not in Nigeria, they can put your picture on the chair next to your 'wife' at the introduction or infact you can facetime from wherever you are. Thank God for technology grin

And then we can do nairaland aso ebi, since technically we're part of your extended family grin grin

Greetings guys.
While I admire the valuable research n information, I believe it is obligatory and a civic responsibility to pay your taxes to your country(s). As such of u re a dual citizen, u don't have a choice than to pay taxes to both states because you are entitled to d civic benefits of both.
Plus if you are going to a foreign country to work it's illegal for one not to pay tax. As such in as much as letting the poeps know, it's really not so much as a negating factor on whether or not one should embark in d missionary journey on that premise.

because we in naija pay lil or no tax n gets nothing in return from d govt, in developed countries every penny of ur tax money is accounted for in a whole lot of entitlements which we over here are yet to even dream of.

Take for example, a John doe was hit by just a mere okada could stay beside d road n bleed to death n not stand a chance to life, ... that's near impossible over there. ...where med evac functions like breeze. ... if not for anything the life expectancy as a citizen beats ours jare lets face d fact.
So if paying my kido's taxes grants him those opportunity/privileges n more, sure y not!

Peace meehn. ...
Keep feeding us info n best regards to you n y'alls
Couldn't have said it any better.

People chasing foreign passport and good health care about trying desperately to avoid paying into the same system they benefited from.
