pipper4all: Hello justwise. I've only got 1 evidence of accommodation which is my Internet + phone bill. Will that be enough? Other utility bills are metre rechargeable and doesn't come with receipts/statement. Also I've just realised that my payslip has got a typo error. (Flat 1 instead of flat 3). Can I just correct that with a pen and sign under it as we do in our Nigerian banks? Thanks Evidence of accommodation should be tenancy agreetment or mortgage paper |

sparklerii: @justwise and nelli,I already have a visa.I am only filling the form for my kids,so that we can all travel together. Ok in that case attach the cost of the trip to their applications(make a mini budget/break down of the cost) or use the space in the for to do that and put a/n in areas asking for cost info in their form, then you need to attach the data page of your passport and the copy of your own visa |

sparklerii: Good evening all, please justwise you ve not answered my previous question and I also need to ask for your help again,I am applying for my two daughters with age of 3&5,do I need to fill in the amount they are going to spend in the Uk and cost of the trip with other expense details as required and my hubby is the one sponsoring for the trip, please would be glad if I can get advice from you. Since this is a family holiday financial details will be on your own form while theirs will contain only their personal details, put n/a in places requesting for any financial information and use the blank space to state that they are traveling with you. Financial details in your form will be total cost of the trip for the whole family. |

eniayooke: Hello All,
Abi Una remember this my matter,
I reapplied on the 23rd of June and got my passport back today with Visa granted.
I basically used the same set of docs i applied with at the initial refusal, Only this time I applied at Ikeja.
And yes , it took longer than normal.
I attended a webcam interview i did not plan for right after i submitted my documents (first timers take note)
Good thing is i was very composed and answered the questions confidently I was able to remember my aunty's house adress as well as give an account of what i plan to do in the UK. Interviewer asked me the nature of my job and what exactly i do ( must tally with the Job description you filled online) I also attached my graduation brochure which shows I just completed Masters in Theatre, When Interviewer asked me if I will visit London as my arrival is Manchester. I said Yes to Visit the Globe theatre, then we talked about Shakespeare. I smiled and tried to be very courteous.
I also used the additional information to explain the extra monies i recieved, I attached Church bulletin and yahoo mail conversations as well as my church organogram (Yes i am an extremist)
I wrote a cover letter and adressed the points highlighted by ECO in the refusal, I attached printed copies of online transfers for the monies i recieved that was'nt mine. Then I cut my budget to about 110£ and stated exactly how i will spend it including the places i intend to visit.
Two Things happened while I waited for my Passport.
My dad is a frequent flyer to the UK, he was contacted to confirm if I am his daughter.
My HR Manager called to say the Embassy contacted him aking about the nature of my job and how much I earn. He also asked the HR Manager who my direct line manager is ( I remember the interviewer asked me to even spell his name)
Then a verification Unit mailed my HR Manager again to confirm my date of birth and how long my contract with the company is. After he responded I got a mail apologising for the delay in returning my passport.
Please Pardon my epistle, This is just to help whoever may be applying next. Make sure you use the additional info, supporting documents are never too much,Refusals MUST be avoided as long as you are genuine, lol.
Thank you justwise, ekpotek, worry and all who helped me. God bless you. Congratulations! Glad it worked out |

zeezahbee: Medicaid is for children from 0-19yrs or low income. If you can't afford it, I advice you take Medicaid. Even people that live here can't afford NICu. Your baby is a citizen, accept the Medicaid. If you get back to Nigeria and you think you are buoyant, you can decide to pay it off. It won't also affect your baby future because she's a citizen and open to accept it.
The tax is gotten from rich people to take care poor, when your baby is actually in USA and start working, she will also pay back tax to the system. So what goes around , come around.
Take the Medicaid and save your baby .
A lot of people actually come here and say NO Medicaid but some of them actually paid little bill and took Medicaid to cover the rest. As long as they have a receipt, that's all. I saw a post about that here on nairaland. Yes tax gotten from rich Americans and not rich Nigerians. Rich Nigerians will rather dodge paying tax and stock their wealth away in foreign bank accounts. |

Beryl15: B So sorry about your baby dear. It's well with you. Like zee said, take Medicaid. A friend had her baby in NICU for a month and her bill was almost $100k. Took Medicaid and has even had her second baby in the US this year. Since you've paid all your own bills you're good to go. Do what you have to do. And abuse of the system like that will lead to policy change. many Americans pay their own medical bills and we should not abuse their system using every possible loopholes. If foreigners come to Nigeria to use our services and left without paying we will come out smoking. |

CallMeFavoured: Hello Everyone,
Pls and pls. I still want your advice based on my last post. I am devastated. I know its midnight but if ure awake and you know any referrals on this situation pls i need urgent advice. My baby is in NICU. My babys bills is in thousands of dollars. I have paid my own bills and collected zero balance for mine. Social worker has been following my babys case to register her for medicaid saying she is a citizen. I keep saying No because i dont know what to do, but he says he doesnt affect me in anyway. My hubby and I cant afford the final bill when it comes out, the best we can get is 15% discount. Pls if you had a similar experience or know a similar one advice me abeg. Will signing my baby up affect my visa renewal? Or affect my baby in the future after 18yrs of age? God why me. This is really tough for me. Sorry to read about your situation, it must be really hard really, that said....if you took Medicaid make payment arrangement for repayment, it's morally wrong to allow American tax payers to pick up the bill. The responsibility of paying that bill is on not your baby. Those encouraging you to take one will not attend next visa interview with you. |

omonnakoda: This has nothing to do with STAMPS.
Stamps are an outdated and unnecessary technology. All that is required is that passports are run through machines, verified by the machine and that the machine keeps a record.
THERE ARE NO EXIT STAMPS Why are you shouting? They don't need stamp to know when you left the UK because they get that from the airline anyway. |

I have read it extensively and it seems it was introduced barely 2 months ago and was for the Euro tunnel users and some water ports but I see nothing saying the Airports have been touched yet although the article suggests that it would be introduced after a while. So as of now, status quo remains. That is exactly what i just said. I don't know how successful the trial was and how they plan to use it on healthrow for example |

MadCow1: Most European, AMERICAN and Canadian Airports have no immigration stand at the departure terminals..
Reason being they are more interested in stopping people entering illegally than leaving.
So NO, you don't get an exit stamp when leaving the UK by Air or even rail.. (Atleast I am sure of those 2). Same for the United States and Canada as well. Infact most European Nation's too.
So the only stamps you get on your passport are the entry stamp into the European or American or Canadian Airport and the exit stamp you get is the arrival stamp at the destination country (in this case Nigeria).
So what people do is that when they arrive Nigeria, they will pally with the immigrations guys and they will walk them through the check in counter and just hand them their passports unstamped or stamped with a pre-season date depending on the type of scam you are running. It does not hurt Nigeria per se as you can't be deported from your home nation, but it affects the Country you are scamming.
It's an old trick but I researched it and found out that the scam is very weak and when it shows, it ends up not being worth it as you lose your Visa, get banned and sometimes deported and your opportunity of ever entering that country again diminishes greatly. Sometimes in the case of the EU, you may never enter Europe again. They do now. |
