Amdan: @justwise
I applied for dependant visa for my wife and baby to join me in the UK on 22nd Dec 2014 in Abuja. We are yet to receive a response till now. I tried contacting the visa office and I was told my baby's application has been referred to another authority for further enquiries. I don't know what that means. Any thoughts? Can you list the documents you submitted? |

PrinceAdeAde: Hello guys,
I am sharing this coz I desperately needed accommodation for my wife and the support i got via information, calls, emails from all narialanders was phenomenal .I am indeed grateful to you guys and most of all to GOD as I eventually got a free and very good accommodation with my friend's aunt in Richmond itself and am using oakbend (yes,God still works in mysterious ways).
I also got a narialander share a great package of $1000(furnished room:$650,shared car rent btw two occupants:$300) though I do not have further details such as address etc.I was surprised she was reserved to share this information on the forum so that she wont be labelled a MARKETER and I was extremely perplexed by this as this would have been fantastic for me (if not for the awof i got) and possibly a ton of us all sourcing for info to optimize our cost.
@Justwise,I think we need to review the rules of sharing information such that people can be more open after all, the responsibility still lies on the forum participant to validate the integrity of information shared Have we not been sharing info here for ages? What we are against here is direct or indirect marketing which a lot people do here in the name of 'helping' people. If people want to market their business then they should contact the admin and discuss that. Please don't advertise accommodation, transport etc on behalf of anybody. I have edited your post to remove that section. |

momoyama: I have no need to read anything. I have been to Germany maybe 10 times as a tourist and therefore I know from experience. How the hell does a tourist suffer racism? You stay in a hotel, the staff treat you well (or get fired) and you are there as a paying guest. It is only if you intend to migrate there that it matters whether or not people are racist. Also, I can tell you a secret that seems somehow to elude black people. I have been all over the world, from Japan, to Argentina, to Iceland, to Peru to France and NOWHERE is as racist as the United States of America. Absolutely nowhere is as obsessed with race. Have you lived in US before? |

equlibrium: Ladies and gentlemen, I jet off 4th February to my base in Perth! It hasn't been easy in Nigeria, life! A country where nothing works, my prayer is for my kids to never have to go through what I went through to get where I am. Anyways, thanks to all who started and kept this forum running, the dictator justwise(take a joke for once in your life man), my mortal enemy jenny(gone offline, still with us in spirit), bossladymo and all the others to numerous to mention. its a long trip and an even longer life plan(2years msc at my age no b beans men), but having waited for sanity to come to Nigeria, and with no end to that wait in sight, I now leave that wait to more able people like that character that says husband and wife for your unborn children is one of the reasons to stay and wallow in the mediocrity my country has become. I'm so fecking excited, this is probably the biggest life decision I will ever make, but its time to leave my comfort zone, do something new everyday of my life and actually live! I will always come here to update all of you of the wonders my eyes will see from the moment I arrive and as I tour Australia, Viva Oz... I don't take that as a joke especially coming from you because i know and have read your views about me outside travel section. Please don't patronize me. |

temi127: my passport, and recent documents (that is all documents after my first degree) all have "Philip". Always maintain the same spelling on your international passport, degrees and other documents, the spelling should be the same when completing the form. You can approach your bank to correct the spelling mistake. |

listenersky: Pls no matter how nice the Lady might be,pls dont let her pay her own bride price,Because bride price is symbolic. You can only tell her to talk with her people if they can reduce the bride price for you.I know your bride must be an ibo chick,We all know that Ibo parents demand a lot from their future inlaw,so just like I advised a friend of mine ,Impregnate the girl as soon as possible and see if they wont reduce the bride price.infact they will even beg you to come and take her for free.Do this and you will thank me later.Dont waste time o. So a woman carrying your baby has lose her value as a human being? So she is now buy-one-get -one free? Pathetic. |

BreezyRita: I'm not sure where to post this. Mods help me out please
She's about to be married. The marriage requirements or 'lists' have been given to the husband to-be. Of course, he must have prepared for this. But the list is somewhat exorbitant and paying all these things will mean a less posh wedding........
My question: Should a woman who's financially stable assist her to-be with money for payment of the bride price or completion of the rites??
Is it advisable?? No. |

helpee: being a visa veteran here on nairaland, you definitely know about j-1 visa in America. Specifically, it is meant to acquire knowledge in America and you must return to your last country of residence to use that knowledge to benefit the country of last residence. So even Americans are not against training you with the purpose of sending you back to benefit your country. I am not against seeking quality education outside. I am not against tourism. I am not even against immigration . I am only against immigration based solely on the fact that Nigeria is irredeemable. Go and study abroad....come back with the knowledge to develop your country and not throw stones back home cos you think you are far away. some people sacrificed to take America to where it is today, they worked and believed in their country and that is why you can live the descent life you so much cherish in america Nigeria doesn't need anybody coming back to help develop Nigeria because development is not Nigeria's problem, corruption is. If any Nigerian can afford to live elsewhere happy and comfortable then it will be criminal for that person to stay back in Nigeria. |

saxywale: Germany for toursm why not the beautiful spots in Nigeria or west africa Its penny wise pound foolish. Have you noticed that some of them that preaches stay-in-Nigeria sermon spent millions a year to get foreign certificate, thousands on foreign holidays and some even married white women to get foreign passports? There are plenty very' hottly-pretty' Nigerian girls to marry. Why not invest that money on schools in Nigeria or Africa? Why not take holidays in Nigeria or other African countries? Why do they work hard in Nigeria and spent it in western economy? |

momoyama: If Nigeria is so bad, why are Nigerians not migrating to Ghana Cote d'Ivoire, Cameroon and all the other West African countries that do NOT require visas?? Do you expect me to believe that they all have daily power cuts? That has been happening for years, in fact there is huge ant-Nigerian sentiment in Ghana because of many reasons including 419 activities. You don't know jack about Nigeria. |

momoyama: I clearly stated that SA was the only part of AFRICA that I have visited. So it is my best terms of reference for imagining Nigeria. I did not say it was identical. Just expected there to be some similarities. Wrong idea, comparing power situation in SA to that of Nigeria is almost like comparing night and day. |

momoyama: wow, you guys are painting a pretty dismal picture of Nigeria. Never been to West Africa yet, but if you guys were my travel agents you would probably just have put me off a visit. i have been to Cape Town and Durban, and I must say they were NOTHING like how you are describing Nigeria. I did not see one power cut and, although they have impoverished townships, the majority of the city centre is very first world. Yea that is because Cape Town is part of Nigeria? So you can use your visit to South AFrica to give example of situation in Nigeria? You are sounding like Sarah Palin now |

helpee: like I said earlier, it is all about choice and has nothing to do with quality of life. May I chip it in here if justwise won't ask me to upload my certificate as evidence that I did my masters in public health at John Hopkins in America and I didn't feel safer in America. As a matter of fact, a classmate of mine of Uganda origin was shot dead in that same America over a minor tussle during the programme. You don't have to be rich to sponsor yourself through American education. My family contributed less than a million naira and I paid my school fees from my savings cos I was already working and not married before I travelled. I am yet to regret coming back home till date. @momoyama, Nigeria is a beautiful unexplored country. Of course the picture being painted here is only true of North East Nigeria where boko haram is rampaging and the situation in lagos is not nearly as gruesome as some are painting it here. Even if quality of life is less than what obtains in the west, so the next thing for us to do is to leave our country behind in search of quality of life. Americans worked hard to develop their country, I will also work hard to do same here in Nigeria. Ask you to upload your certificate? Pointless, you can buy one online and still claim to have studied in US. |

OUR GOD IS AWESOME HE NEVER SLEEP NOR SLUMBERS, HE IS THE GOD OF OLD HE HAS NOT CHANGE AND LASTLY HE IS THE ONLY CONSTANT SPIRIT. You don't have to shout through your post.
