lilmaxfidel: Choose Character over Chemistry
While chemistry and attraction are no doubt important, character precedes them both. A famous quote follows, “Chemistry ignites the fire, but character keeps it burning.” The idea of falling “in love” should never be the sole reason for marrying someone; it is very easy to confuse infatuation and lust for love. The most important character traits to look for include humility, kindness, responsibility, & happiness. Both are equally important, its marriage and not business partner, without chemistry then you can as well live as a friend. |

refreshrate: Thank you sir, but what he said was i had submitted a statement that showed no evidence of deposits. Who runs an account and collects only salary on it?
Sorry for being such a bother its just if i had a colleague who treated a clients request like this and it was brought to my notice seriously id have to question hes credentials.
Sorry just to be clear on this it means i have to include a letter or how do i point out their folly when reapplying this time around? If you have no other source of income other than your job then your salary account should not be showing money that is not your salary. Like i said before...there is nothing you can do now other than to reapply and point out ECO's mistake, use the blank space in the form or separate paper to explain the situation. |

refreshrate: Thank you sir
Its actually an account i use for all my payments and receipts of money sir nothing major i cant possibly be lying here when im trying to get your assistance on the issue sir. look at it how come he wrote my employment letter was dated 22nd december when clearly it was an August date on the thing? Where in Gods name did i discuss anything about doing anything for any client in the UK?
I dare say the ECO had had too much of the christmas spirits in his or her system whilst attending to my application.
When you say reapply does it mean going through the whole process again and paying another money sir or how? That lies the problem, if you claimed to be earning 234,000 monthly and presented your salary account then that account should only contain your salary and not any unexplained money on it. You have more money in that account than 2-3 months salary that should have reflected on it, you should have explained where the other money came from. Yes reapplying means going through the process again. |

teeowl: she has family members and other relatives... You are not the one that gave her the energy to carry the baby for 9 months. it was her choice to have a child - respect it! No you respect my opinion, if you don't like it then move on to another post, the thread is here for us to comment on and i just did that. Age is not on her side, you don't have child for family members to look after, the child needs the mother and father. |

Lilimax: You think so? God that gave her the child will equip her with strength and energy to care for the child . Well..we all say that and wish that it comes to reality but the truth is that her health will start deteriorating by the time she hits 70s and the child will be just 10 then full of energy, running around and she can't keep up. |

Gave birth at 60? Selfishness, she will not have enough energy and time to bring up that child, the poor child will end up being her carer. |

Yes sir the bank statement clearly reflected the said amount of 234,000 on a monthly basis sir. Then its a difficult one because this is the case of your word against that of the ECO, its difficult to know who is making a mistake here. All you can do is to reapply and address ECO's refusal points, pointing out that your salary reflected on the bank statement. Apart from the salary do you have any other money going into that account? |

monchouchou: I can only tell you what I know from my experience and since I used Emirates Driving Institute (Please Justwise I'm not advertising them ) it might be a bit different from what you are likely to face (as RTA apparently directs their drivers to Al Ahli).
First download the RTA app. It was very useful as they repeated 80% of the practice test questions You will also learn a lot about the safety regulations and road networks. Its up to date and has information about the tram and metro system (which are things we are not used to in Nigeria). Infact everyone thinking of relocating to Dubai should download the app
Also, try and get close to your instructor. Now I DONT mean you should offer a bribe o because that is illegal. What I mean is that I was always gisting with my instructor and he gave me some excellent "expo" on how to pass the parking, institute and final road tests in the first attempt
All in all be prayerful. God is the beginning and the end. Some people attempt the final tests 3 to 4 (and even more) times before finally passing. |

refreshrate: Hi @justwise and everyone else who can make sense of this please just joined this forum cos i really don't know what to do next i applied for a UK tourist just before the christmas holiday and included all the required documents to support it. only to pick it up yesterday with the following reason for refusal
< You stated that you have been employed since September2014 with Bleep and that you earn 234,000 per month. As evidence of your employment you have provided an employment letter dated 22/12/2014. Within this letter it states that you would be travelling to the UK with approval from the office to work on a clients project. You have also provided bank staement as evidence of your employment but these do not show any salary deposits as claimed therefore i cannot be satisfied that your financial circumstances are as claimed.
i have also addressed your application under paragrapgh 46G and i am satisfied you do not meet therequirements of 46G i ii and iii i therefore refuse your application because i am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that you have met all the requirements
your right to appeal is limited referred to in section 84(1)(c) of the nationality immigration and assylum act2002>
Heres the problem
1. My offer letter clearly states a date ofAugust 2014. A letter of permission to go on a break as i was to work during the holiday period was issued by my office and was duly included it was a one pager separate document dated 22nd december how could they have assumed this to be my offer letter when it was duly addressed to the consulate?
2. The bank statements submitted clearly stated payments of salaries since September by the company on a regular basis how they didnt see this still baffles me
3. The letter from the office to the consulate clearly stated that i was being allowed to travel in January to substitute my working on a project for a client here in Nigeria during the holidays. How in Gods name did this become me going to work on a clients project in the UK still baffles me.
Please advice on what the next best steps to take would be as im still wondering what exactly is going on in the british high commission
thanks The section in bold is the main reason for the refusal, does your bank statement show N234,000 monthly salary? |

momoyama: I fail to see what the Bahamas has to do with this discussion. It just happens to be where I am from.
Of course the Bahamas has no anti-African agenda. We mostly descend from Africa. Nigerians require visas to enter the Bahamas, but Bahamians ALSO need visas to visit Nigeria and most of sub-Saharan Africa. In fact if you look at the countries that Bahamians need visas to enter, virtually most of the countries that do not give us visa free access are in sub-Saharan Africa.
In fact, South Africa is one of the only African countries that give us visa free access, while Europe, the USA, China, Japan, Canada and most other places are visa free. It is all part of what I am complaining about - the black against black mindset which has people on this site defending the UK's discriminatory visa requirement for Nigerians.
Nigerians should be free to visit the UK visa free as commonwealth citizens. A country of 200 million possible tourists only makes economic sense to extend the visa waiver to. Why are you not complaining about other African countries who restricted Nigeria from visiting free and concentrated on the UK? Why did South Africa gave your country free access and restrict Nigeria and other African countries? Nigeria is not visa free to British citizens so why must the UK allow Nigerians visa free? Commonwealth or not the UK has the right to any country visa free status as they wish. |

opite: Hello house, please I need more assistance in filling my form.
I'm having some difficulties in the Income and Expenditure Aspect. Will be grateful if someone can assist.
a. do you have savings, properties or other income, for example from stocks and shares? the savings referred here, does it mean savings account?
b. how much do you spend each month on living costs? my hubby transfers money to my account monthly for monthly expenses. should i write the amount in this column or i should write how much we spend from the particular money monthly?
and as for hubby, is he to write the money he transfers to me monthly as the money he spends monthly on living costs?
c. how much of your total monthly income is given to your family members and other depandents? should hubby state the amount he transfers to me? should answer b and c be the same?
as for me, should i put a figure there or 0 gbp?
d. what is the cost of you personally of your trip in gbp? am i to put down the total amount (since i am the person sponsoring the trip) or please can you explain and for hubby what will you suggest he write?
e.the total amount of money you have for this trip? is it same answer as "d"? or does it refer to the money for things like feeding, transport, site-seeing etc?
f. the cost of the aeroplane, boat or train ticket does this refer to the cost when we are in uk or it refers to the flight ticket fare?
is someone other than you paying for all or part of the trip? im ticking no, while hubby will tick yes. and it says, what is the total amount in gbp. should he write all the cost minus the money of "d or e"? in addition, for my 6month old baby, am i required to fill a separate form for him?
is 650k enough for a family trip?
Thank you all A. Very simple...do you have savings? Do you have property, cash or shares? Answer appropriately. B. Give an estimate of how much you spend in a month. C. Apart from the money your hubby spends on his family does he have brothers, sisters or spent on his mum&daddy? If no then state only the money spent on his family. D. How much will the trip cost you? Flight ticket, accommodation etc ..you are the sponsor so you should know. E=D, if the total cost is £500 for a example you can add 100 or 200 for incase F How much is the flight ticket cost? To know if 650 will be enough you need to calculate all the expenses and the result is your answer. |

momoyama: But I am not talking about work visas. What is wrong with visa free travel for TOURISTS ? I am certain that most Nigerians who go to Britain go as tourists. Why make it hard for them? There is no problem restricting work visas. But there is an anti-African agenda that drives Britain and others to discriminate against travelers from almost all of sub-Saharan Africa. So how about South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, Algerian and many other African countries that has visa restriction on Nigeria? Anti- African Nigeria agenda? Bahama has anti-African agenda? Nigeria lose her visa free status to the UK because Nigeria actively supported South Africa during apartheid, so why is South Africa not visa free to Nigerians? |

momoyama: No Bahamas is not visa free to Nigerians. You cannot compare the Bahamas (a small country with a huge number of immigrants) to Britain. Britain should be visa free to all commonwealth countries, naturally.
By the way, what do you mean that Nigeria only has 7 hours electricity daily? It is an oil producing country! I simply cannot believe that. There is so much anti-African propaganda in the west that it is hard to know what to believe. Another problem is that people who leave are not aware of improvements that have taken place in their absence. I am certain that Lagos today does not have the electricity problems that it may have years ago. Bahama put visa restriction on Nigeria and some other countries for a reason while they allowed other countries visa free. It got little to do with your population. Yes some part of Nigeria will be lucky to enjoy 7hrs of electricity a day, visit Nigeria and see for yourself, almost every household has a generator bought and maintained by themselves. |

helpee: Ok. Now that we have all made our points....i can now rest my case by saying this..what is d purpose of the thread? To make it seems like nigerians at home are so poor that once you land in America, we all start envying you. Now we are saying only very few myopic people does that cos many are making it at home. But you insist that only few that we mingle with are making it and millions are jobless. In fact, justwise kept saying he can't verify something. The purpose of a faceless forum is not to verify anything. How do I verify justwise is in UK? For all I care, he may be holed in sambisa forest typing this. So, never generalise. This thread is offensive. To you success means good living, to others fame, to others money so it's all by choice. When the guy came to say he had no reason to envy you, why did justwise took offence and immediately said he can't verify it. Why should you verify it? Did I attempt to verify the truth in your claim that you are in UK. If you are in UK and your friends back home start hating you, you must have been making bad friends before you left nigeria and thread like this will continue to make it difficult for nigerians to travel freely cos travelling is being projected like a career in Nigeria. So, enjoy your life in America. But get over it....nobody cares anymore back home cos we know boys are not smiling over there in UK especially. Justwise said the few success stories does not represent the life of an average nigerian.....it can't be truer for most nigerians in diaspora. few of them actually enjoy your so called decent life in diaspora....so few nigerians are actually living a life that is worth my definition of decent living in uk Here you go again, the same hot air, who cares if a few Nigerians are living better than those in the UK, who give a toilet brush if they are making millions an hour, saying things like that is so so childish. If you found this thread offence then move on to other threads around nairaland, you got no right to decide what thread is offence or not. People have the right to air their opinions about issues, you don't have to agree with them, that is why there is a word called choiceI don't boast about living in the UK because its not a big deal, many were here before i came and the trend will continue. |

Are u by any means insuniating that most nigerians that ran away are lazy and therefore want to make money overnight? Could that be the reason why many of them end up committing crime abroad thereby giving us bad name cos they want to make it fast even abroad and once they get there and discover there is no smooth way to success anywhere they end up committing crime. So, if hard work and years of dedication is what is needed to build our country then all hope is not lost cos many youths are now becoming aware that they don't pick dollars on the street in new York, be hardworking.....home or away, govt or no govt, you will make it Its harder to make an honest living abroad than in Nigeria because the chances of you living on stolen money and brag about it is remote but in Nigeria stealing is a full time job with a recognized position. May only few of you know those opportunities available to ordinary Nigerian because people in the attached picture will disagree with you This is a picture of job applicants in one state, the govt sold the form to them but many died trying to get the immigration job, this is the same Nigeria?
