LUCAS99: Dear forumites I applied for a renewal of my F-1 Student Visa through the Drop Box Visa Renewal Program at the U.S. Consulate General Lagos, Nigeria on December 2014 but on Wednesday January 7th 2015 I received an e-mail from the Correspondence Unit (TMI) US CONSULATE GENERAL LAGOS, NIGERIA stating that the they needed to see me in person inorder to proceed with my case. But the problem I am having right now is that my school resumes on Monday January 12th, 2015 for the spring semester. It is advisable to depart the United States while school is so close to resumption. It is worthy of note to point out that when I was filling the DS-160 nonimmigrant Visa Petition I also mentioned the following information listed below (1) That I have a pending immigrant petition filed on my behalf by my sibling (2) That I have a valid work authorization card issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) (3) That I have four siblings currently residing in the United States three of whom are United States citizens and one a permanent resident
Ojap, Imperiouxx, Msnas, bigfrancis21, Walspring, Zeezahbee and other forumites your inputs are highly appreciated. LUCAS99: Dear abujaniv I'm a Nigerian living abroad please do I have to be physically present in Nigeria inorder to renew my F-1 Student visa through the Dropbox Renewal Service program or can I ask my sibling or friend to drop off the application confirmation sheet, passport photos, visa fee receipt, and appropriate forms to one of the DHL facilities in Abuja or Lagos. And when the visa is ready my sibling or sister can collect the passport with the visa attached on my behalf and mail it back to me in the United States. abujaniv: Dropbox is meant as a service for Nigerians living in Nigeria. If you are living abroad, there is a likely another US Embassy or Consulate closer to you that can handle your renewal. You were advised against it but you still went ahead. |

MissEny: Hello
Please I wanna pay my big sis in the Uk a visit during summer.. Most likely in July. we're not blood related but we grew up together and our families are very close.
However I've never been out of the country, I work in a bank and my monthly income is above 200k, I've worked for 2years now and I have savings of about a million. I don't have landed property yet and I'm unmarried.
What do you think my chances are seeing that I've never been out of the country... Do you think I should go to Ghana just to have international travel history? Going to Ghana is waste of time and money, it will not do you any favour, you will be given a visa if you met the requirements, there is always a first timer. |

opite: good day house, vicjustice, justwise, worry359 and all
just joined and need answers to some of my questions.
my hubby , baby (6month old) and I want to go for a vacation. i,m self employed and want to sponsor the trip. presently, hubby has like 150,000 in his account while i have a little over a million in my account. my hubby works with a private firm and would be bringing 1. his payslip 2. letter of introduction and 3. bank statement
while for me been self employed, my documents are 1. bank statement from my business and personal account 2. Certificate of registration for company 3. tax clearance which was paid in may last year 4. marriage cert 5. child's birth cert 6. hotel reservation 7. pictures of my marriage and birth/naming of baby (still using my maiden name)
Is there any other document(s) we need to add?
when explaining the flow of money in the acccount, are we to write the date and amount then explain? in the section for my income, what should i write since im into business and dont have a fixed salary? Also, how much should be our budget collectively for a week vacation?
can i be solely responsible for sponsoring the trip? -You can explain it anyway you want as long as its clear enough for them to understand. -Since you have tax certificate it will explain how much you earn as a business owner. -Your budget will come from the addition of all your cost, you need to calculate how many flight, accommodation, feeding and shopping will cost the whole family for the trip....that will give you the idea how much to have. -You can sponsor the trip IF it will not affect the running of your business. |

I moiolaa: I am postgraduate student with a tier 4 visa . I am applied for my daughters 2nd of December 2014 and after two weeks of submission . I received a call from British commission office that the bio metrics fingerprints needed to be registered again at the Lagos office and we should travel to Lagos as soon as possible as the applications were mistakenly sent to Abuja as well my but unfortunately we were sent back at Lagos office (teleperformance office ) that the call was not notified to them, but after so many calls to the number a lady picked the call and said there was a mixed and she will notify me my email when next to be at lagos .At the closing of the day, an email was sent on the 23rd December 2014 stating ''the processing of your application has been non-straightforward and we have been unable to resolve your application within these customer service targets''. Contrary to this, I recieved a call again from one of the workers at the teleperformance ikeja that I am to fill an EEA family visit forms for my children ( economic european ) not tier 4 dependant form and i needed to bring them on friday 2nd of January 2015 or tuesday ) with all the confusion the same staff again around 7.30pm that we should call him on his private number as it is important that we should get the form across so he can send the forms to the British high commission. I would not want anything to affect my children application by calling a man that works there around 7.30pm of which i know they that close that late and even if they do . Why am not receiving mails to the effect ? at least a request to the email address provided should be sent and clearly state what is needed for me to bring regarding the applications made for my daugthers . I am not really cleared on why I have to fill in an EEA ( Economic European Area family visitor form) for them as I would not want to fall into wrong hands . I did submit all requirements for the tier- 4 dependant visa to apply for my children; My bank statement ( stating the money was held for more than 28 days ) Letters for my University , Letter from my lawyer stating why i have the sole responsibility on my children Letter from my landlord My Visa pages ( previous tier 4 visa and the recent one ) So my lovely people on this forum . pls help ooo . I dont know what to do , who to call . i have tried to email abuja.visacustomercare@fco.gov.uk, consular.lagos@fco.gov.uk and my people no response . Any advice at time will be much more appreciated . You don't need to fill any EEA form, and you are right for not calling that staff privately. Call the embassy and ask them about the fingerprint issue, this can be done in Abuja and not Lagos. Don't give up calling and emailing them, this is their mistake and not yours. |
