keji11: Thanks, but will it be weighed (30kg stipulated for flight requirement)If you put it in your check-in luggage then it will be weighed but if you put it in your hand luggage it will not be weighted |
gonelsystems: Thanks!! For the tuition fees, should it be for the 2yr period or only the first yearJust 1st year. |
This thread exist here already. |
gonelsystems: I am applying to UKBA and want to know if its okay to have funds in my personal account and to also present my legal Guardians account with a court statement showing that he is my Legal guardian. Also, if my program is for 2yrs, do i need to show the total amount for the cost of living for the entire 2 yr period or one yearTo avoid making things difficult for yourself leave the money in your account and forget about the legal guardians and court statement thing. You are only expected to have maintenance money for the first year of your course. |
Ogbeche77: @candyboi, I m having problem accessing any mail sent from NL.. I got a notification you sent me a mail but can't view the contentIts in your inbox, check your nairaland email, the email address you registered with here |
mrkossy: oga if you honestly believe what you are saying then you will believe anything. UK govt is nothing compared with Nigerians no doubt but that does not mean that if something is not right i lk agree with it cos they ve got good govt. Its bad enough to ask students to go for a Tb test as if that's not enough they ask them to pay 20000 naira for a Tb test. Something you and i know its very wrong! I wonder why they never ask them to submit a HIV test result even when they know that its very common in nija. Nigerian govt is bad yes i know that and so what? Why are you complaining because the UK govt wants people coming into their country to get checked up for diseases like TB which is problem in Nigeria? Canada started it years before the UK and the same case with Australia. South Africa ask for yellow fever certificate and its not free, they are trying to protect their own people and foreigners leaving in their country, so why are you complaining? |
keji11: pls at POE/airport are u allowed to bring in your laptop or notYou are allowed. |
mrkossy: regardless of what anyone thinks. The fact remains we can drag it all we want. That's the reason why its like that at the first place because most of us are full of bullshits and prefer kissing the back side instead of standing up.Stand up to Nigerian govt first before moaning about the UK govt, stand up for endemic corruption in Nigeria, you can't even stand up to your local MP let alone ranting about TB certificate. Did you stand up for fuel subsidy and what was the outcome? You don't have to study in the UK, why did you not invest that money in some of Nigerian universities? |
wilzz26: £3K was suspended since and its because we stood aginst it. Fine they are free to have health protection rules but i dont surport going to a uk desgnated place in my contry to pay more than what it should cost. That is what am aginst. They want to make sure that the result can be trusted as Nigerians can fake/forge anything. So having one trusted organisation do it is better than allowing thugs to provide the certificate. |
mrkossy: The problem with we Nigerians is that we don't want to tell our selves the truth. Despite the fact that deep down inside we know the truth, but most of what we say is crap. We open our arms and welcome anything said to us weather good or bad. Meanwhile without international students most of the unis here will close down. Its simple, this is just a way of exploiting and frustrating Nigerian students simple because they don't want them here. People can go on and paint it any way they want, try to make it sound better all they want at the end of the day the point remains that vast population or not hiv or not the whole thing is pure bullshit. That was how they placed a £3k embargo on first time visitors and nothing was done about it.Some of you are good at making things up, was this targeted at Nigerians alone? How about Russia? https://www.gov.uk/government/world-location-news/long-term-visa-tb-testing-comes-to-russia South Korea? https://www.gov.uk/government/world-location-news/pre-entry-tb-screening-in-south-korea-for-long-term-uk-visas China? https://www.gov.uk/government/world-location-news/tuberculosis-testing-in-china Hong Kong? https://www.gov.uk/government/world-location-news/tuberculosis-testing-in-hong-kong-macau-for-long-term-uk-visas Cameroon? https://www.gov.uk/government/news/tb-test-for-cameroonians-applying-for-long-term-uk-visas ..and many other countries, why are always too quick to see ourselves as victims? Must you travel to the UK? Why not try other friendlier country? First time visitors to the UK are not paying £3000, get that right. |
wilzz26: That as it may be. Its worth thinking but at the same time i know of students that schooled in Germany' and they are far competitive interms of out put and they both speak german and english language and can tell you they are verry good enginers today. Then go to Germany and forget about the UK |

wilzz26: Anually the Nigerian student contributes over £1millon to Britain's economy. If i spent over two decades of my life learning and using a white man's language as my first language and that same white man tells me to pay $145 to be tested in that same language am typin on now to comunicate and also to pay them $130 for health check. At this point i dont mind collecting my tuition fee back going to a contry where i have to first learn their language for a year and follow my coutse of study in their languge which i know is far better ty his mess one white english man is offering.Think carefully before leaving Nigeria to any country because you might end up wasting that money. |
Mr Knowitall: JUSTWISE why can't you behave like a fully developed human being for once in your life?Actually i act like one but i'm not sure about you. Why did you have to close down my thread because someone else is giving advice on a different thread? Two people cant give advice where you are from? You don't duplicate similar threads Why is it difficult for you to understand that similar threads does not mean they are identical? In this case they are You make me sick.Thank God for that. I dont know how an illiterate like you became a mod.I'm educated but i'm not an educated illiterate like you Anyways, have a lovely day my friend.Grow up and quick |
miz Gene: I'll be travelling without dt cert, dont believe those with visa already are going to be affected cos d site says d cert is to be presented at point of application, will let u all know how it goesYou will be fine, yrs ago my first visit to the UK i was tested right there at the airport, i was not even coming from Nigeria, everyone of us in that flight was delayed for about 2hrs going through the x-ray. Its nothing new and not targeted at Nigerians alone. |
ogakpatakpata: @julianauche19Sadly not everybody who came here asking for help is genuine, that individual is one of them, don't waste your precious time on him. Happy New Year to you and other decent Nigerians here. |
wilzz26: ] i am also yer to seeNigeria on that list oo. Nigeria is not a tb prevalence contry and i know for sure that if all tier 4 applicants are tested it will be verry difficult to get 1 out of 100 with tuberculosis. This is another scam on Nigerians by the british goverment. Two yers ago it was english language test now for us whoes first and official language is english and to top it all a British colony. If Jamaica could be exempted from english languge test i wonder why Nigeria should be on that list. If they were to be sincere with them selfs is Nigeria rated by the WHO as a tb nation? And why do i have to get tested and pay in their own specified organization? Too many questions begging for answers. The british government is takng us for a ride. 22K plus visa fee of 80k plus meaning its a 122k t there about for student visa application and still didnt mention the pearson test of english language fee of 30k plus. So a total of 150k plus is needed to make a tier 4 application. The British government is in no way bettter than the Nigerian goverment in terms of making life difficult for people. Didn't tbey realize that we tier 4 students contribute to their economy due to educational tourisim. Things has really got to change as we can not continue to be exploited like this.Yes!! WHO:http://www.afro.who.int/en/nigeria/country-programmes/aids-tb-and-malaria.html |
miz Gene: Still can't find us der! Do a snapshot n show us pls.Excellent reply!!, thank God for people like you who sees beyond sentiment. |
miz Gene: I hv gone thru d home office page from the link, I can't find Nija on that tb certificate list, do I need glasses or something? Was saying the same thing when i saw that link but yet to see Nigeria listed there |
swaggzflow: Hello guys..got a lil problem..Made a full tution payment of 10890( made an initial payment of 6445 on 22/11/13 then paid the balance of 4445 on 13/12/13 ) to the uni of lincoln... This payment was transferred from my dads account with UBA to the school. Then applied for my CAS on the 18th of dec..was made to understand that it takes 3 to 5 working days for one to be issued so as at the 28th of dec when I had nt seen any CAS, I wrote back to the school requesting the reason for the delay. Due to the holidays, I jst received a reply from the admissions officer that I had correspondence with, informing me that its only a payment of 6445 that is reflecting in my account. got furious and replied back outlining the payment shedule and attaching proof of payments (b4 then, I have always informed the same admissions officer of all payments I had made..attaching proofs also) I got from UBA for them to rectify the issue. called him also to convey my displeasure at the recent development hence he promised to get back to me by monday..dis is really nt a gud way to start the new year...how 4445 pounds go jst miss (are they learners)them tink say na beans..anyways guys shud I be worried..I hope to criously disturb dis guys by next week till the issue is rectified. plus no time too because according to them issuance of CAS stops jan 10th.You got nothing to worry about, wait till Monday by then they might have cleared the fund. The money can not go missing just like that. |
Guzye: I paid £300 initial and yes I have that in my CAS. But the full rent till July is about £3234 or soAs long as you have your maintenance money in your bank account for 28days you don't need to worry about the £3234 because the maintenance money covers that. |
Guzye: I have Paid all for tuition and a lil but for accomodationHow much did you pay for accommodation? Do you have your CAS? |
Guzye: Please while filling the online visa form on the new UKBA website, these two questions are confusing me :- Please does anyone know how best to answer it?Have you paid all or part of your fees? |
