Dramadiddy: the part of my uncle being my guardian from 2006-2013 meant he was responsible for everything concerning schooling..then when my parents died, they read d will and my dad wrote that my uncle should be my guardian. speaking about the mails, i only use mail to talk to them about school fees and some other matters...but if they need phone records im sure i have a lot of them which cove every month of the year. justwise, are you on any another social platform so i can get my responses quick so that i dont get refused again...just message the name or pin or whatsapp number please...thank u

I don't get other aspect of my life involved with nairaland outside here. I like to keep everything open here to avoid all sorts of false allegations.

damyoyepitan: Leeon ..any update on d outcome of your appeal yet ..justwise ,girlflo and other members of the house. I wanted to comfirm if I could. Reapply for my spouse visa considering d fact dt my husband has changed his job and wants to go into contracting ,my question is. Can. We. Still. Use the same documents from his former workplace andalso his former payslips ,as he hasbeen in niaja. 3tumes aftr d refusal now so we want to tackle d refusal and apply again.
You can reapply as long as you can address those issues raised by the ECO in the refusal letter, its better to use his current work documents rather than the former one
Actually the charges for a British citizen are less. $144 instead of $170. And my husband had a UK resident permit, not an Irish one! I do agree that the Home Office remain unchallenged in their fee increases, but at least their fees are the same no matter where you come from. If I was an Iraqi passport holder I would only have to pay $3, yes $3, for my Nigerian visa and if I held a Danish passport then I would pay $88. Just doesn't make sense.
Its tite for tate policy, as British govt increases visa fees for Nigerians coming to the UK, Nigerian govt do the same too.
I want to travel to Nigeria in April for my sister in law's wedding. I called the High Commission in London today to ask how much it a visa would cost. I was told that a company called OIS now deal with the all visa and passport applications. When I called them they told me that a single entry visa visa valid for three months would cost me $170 plus a $20 admin fee to be paid to VFS Global! I nearly had a heart attack....the last time I had a visa in 2009 it cost the equivalent of N10,000 plus a £20 admin fee. Just as I was picking my jaw up off of the floor, the OIS chap told me that my application would also be subject to a £72 admin fee payable to OIS and a further £20 admin fee payable to the Nigerian High Commission! He also told me that my bank account would have to show a minimum balance of £500 in credit! I then told the guy that my husband is Nigerian because I was sure that he was mistaken. NO MISTAKE! I think that having such a high fee for the spouse of a Nigerian citizen is disgusting. And before you guys rant on about what the Home Office charge for spouses of British citizens, I'm an Irish citizen and my husband has never had to pay for a visa to accompany me to my country or to any other European country for that matter. And although we live in London, he didn't have to pay for his resident card here either because I'm classed an EU citizen.
Get Nigerian passport to aviod all these problems, with that you don't visa to visit Nigeria. I'm glad that Nigerian embassy is turning the heat on with high charges, the UK increases visa fees unchallenged, your husband don't pay because he probably hold irish resident paper.

uadubasim: Hello @Justwise. Thanks for a good job. Please I'm about applying for my Uk visa and I obeyed the 28 day rule. infact the money stayed for 30 days. but it was withdrawn after I got my statement. Please will this affect my visa application? Will the uk embassy call the bank to confirm my bank details and balance? Please reply asap
Its 50/50, pray long and hard that they don't find out, if they do then you are walking towards 10yrs ban.

You shouldn't have done that.

Good luck

royalsweetness: Good idea. Would this work for Aberdeen too? I hear it's tres cold.
You will get the best of winter gear in the UK, buying it in Nigeria makes no sense because Nigeria is no where as cold as the UK and will not have the appropriate winter gear.

Dramadiddy: Please guys, I need ur advice on what to do on this... you have applied to join Mr. A, whom you state is your uncle in the uk in support of your application. You have provided birth certificates, death certificates, photographs, school records and copies of emails. You state that your parents died in 2010 and since then you have been living with Mr. A's cousin. There is nothing to show that Mr. A has had day to day responsibility for you. You need to demonstrate that he provides you with all the emotional, financial and other needs which you may and do have that he can and does exercise full control over the major aspects of your life, such as schooling, religion, medical care, etc. Although you have provided school documents that your fees have been paid and letters from you to Mr. A thanking him for paying your fees, there is no evidence that he actually paid them. The letter from your school states that Mr. A has been your guardian all through 2006-2013, however you state that your parents died in June 2010 and that Mr. A became your guardian after that date. You have stated in your form that you keep in touch with Mr. A and his wife through via phone calls and emails. You have provided copies of emails from you to his wife but these are few in number and only cover the periods nov-dec 2012 and june-august 2013. You have provided a birth certificate for yourself dated October 23, 2013 and death certificates for your parents dated 02 October 2013. Your birth certificate has been produced over 16 years since the date of your birth and death certificates have been produced over 3 years since the date of your parent's death. As such, I consider these to be self serving documents and am not satisfied that you are related to Mr. A as claimed. Having considered all of this, i am not satisfied that Mr. A has had sole responsibilty for your upbringing. I therefore refuse your application under paragrph 297(i)(e) of the immigration rules.

You have provided no detail or evidence or your current care arangements in Nigeria. You state that you have been living with Mr. A's cousin since the death of your parents in 2010. You state that this cousin is married and you can no longer stay with them. Due to the lack of evidence of this arrangement, and the above stated concerns about your relationship with Mr. A, I am not satisfied that there are serious and compelling family or other considerations which make your exclusion undesirable and that suitable arrangements have been made for your care. I therefore refuse your application under paragraph 297(i)(f) of the immigration rules.

Please can you help point out the reasons they refused the application because there are many things written and I don't which is correct or wrong. Please thanks
You messed up your application with some false info, i think they let you out 10yrs ban because of your age.

The letter from your school saying that your uncle started taking care of you from 2006 but that contradict your own statement.

Death certificate 3yrs after the death?

It gives the impression that the 'uncle' story is made-up one.

Please if you are 17 as you said them continue with your school in Nigeria for now, because of the way your recent application went, getting a UK visa in the nearest future will be hard only if there is significant change in your situation..e.g you graduated and got a good job, got married etc. Don't try another trick to get UK visa for now else you are likely to land 10yrs ban.

bunburized: I settled for an Air France return ticket. I hope to be back in Nigeria for the Xmas. I will be putting up with a friend until I can sort out my accommodation issue. That is the address I will be writing on the Landing card. Does that pose a problem?
If am asked at the point of entry should I say it is a temporary arrangement pending when I get mine or just skip the detail and say dat will be my aboard?

I will also appreciate comments and suggestions from anyone with experience flying Air France.
That is perfectly ok, there is nothing wrong in using your friend's address for temporary address, you can use your uni international office/center address as well, both are ok.

I have used air France ones, the experience is a mixed one, missed my connecting flight from Paris to Hong Kong because of delay at heathrow, we were given free hotel accommodation but having to wait for 10hrs before leaving for Hong Kong was the killing part, apart from that they are good.
