justwise: God!! if you put more time and energy for your studies the way you do with foodstuff you are in for first class.

guiddoti: Mr moderator how could you jokingly say that. Do you know if she finished with first class during her undergraduate. I can now know how you reason. Downstairs mentality
Your inability to comprehend simple English is your biggest problem. The section in bold was referring to her intended course and not whatever grade she got in her previous course which i'm not aware of, that was all joke, but for moody individual like you its not.

If you are struggling to read and understand why not call for help?

I guess alot has changed now cus I left the UK in 2010. Gumtree helped me alot... As for the car sale yeah I know it wasnt allowed but I used the word part time based on its just to buy a car, advertise it and when u get a buyer, sell it off. One doesnt need to go and register it as a business oooo.... Me and my home boy where doing it in Coventry and today he owns midlands auto lounge in Coventry.
nothing much have changed in that regard, buying and selling is a business registered or not, it will get you deported for sure if get caught.

bunburized: I understand there are shops in Manchester that will sell african foodstuffs but at what extra cost.
Does a kg of stockfish in UK sells at same price as a kg of stockfish in Nigeria?
My point is that if I can manage a reasonable amount of food items that is within my baggage weight limit it will be foolish not to take advantage of it as I may have to buy same in the UK for probably an extra N100 or more.
I am definitely not planning on taking 20kg of stockfish but I will try to carry some as well as other food items that my total 46kg baggage weight allowance can accommodate.
My clothes and other items excluding food items won't even weight 10kg so it is only fair I stock on foodstuffs to make up the balance.
Seriously, I am thinking of throwing in another piece of baggage(23kg) as the excess baggage is charged per piece of 23kg weight and it cost a meager £60.
The only reason I will not go with much foodstuffs is if the prices over there in the UK compares favorably with those in Nigeria.
Finally, if I decide to carry foodstuffs from Nigeria it will be to my advantage as my parents will buy them without recourse to my maintenance money but if I choose to buy anything in the UK it is my responsibility as they say I already have my maintenance funds.
God!! if you put more time and energy for your studies the way you do with foodstuff you are in for first class.

BarrisNixon: I studied in Coventry, stayed and worked in London, Nottinghan and finally Manchester before returning back to Nigeria finally. I think getting a job is though challenging but you can always get one provided you got your complete papers and you follow the law in terms of working with a student visa. Though you cant expect much pay, at least you could pay your bills and feed yourself. As an international student you always need the support of your sponsor sha cus ur body go tell u lol... Well i do use this site to get jobs: www.gumtree.co.uk. I did more of sales and marketing jobs cus they are easy to come by. If you have a driving license, I wud advice u do part time car sales like i did. You buy cars via www.autotrader.co.uk and shade it for sale in your area or ebay. Its good business and all you need is a sence of selecting good and cheap cars and have a sat nav to pick cars outside ur area. UK is a fun place actually if u knw ur way. Biko no give ur account to person 4 bank transfer oooo
I think that is a wrong advise, car sale whether on part time or full time will get you deported if caught, foreign students are not allowed to get into any sort of business. You are lucky you got away with it.

Gumtree is not a place to look for job, hot bed of scammers.
Travel › Re: USA Or England: Which Is The More Racist Country? by justwise(mod): 7:08am On Jan 02, 2014
benom: As a Nigerian living in the US, I find this topic very disturbing. It is completely wrong to identify a country as racist. For all those that say the US is more racist, there is a very high percentage that you are racist yourself. The US is a very diverse place and people will treat you differently based on their personal experience. That does not make a country racist!
And oh by the way, Nigerians are some of the most sensitive people I have ever seen. Ask a fellow Nigerian here in the US and they will tell you they don't even want to live in a neighborhood with a lot of fellow Nigerians.
Bottom line, if you want to travel abroad, go with purpose and you will be respected. Don't come here depending on government assisted living and hope to be treated like a king.
A+++++

Nelly Ghenghen: Here we go again! black man with s.tupid talks on racism. really who is more racist than Africans? would we allow a white man to be the president of Nigeria? Can we allow a white man/woman to be a minister or a senator in Nigeria? or even local govt chairman?? Can a white person win MBGN? most times you even hear stuff like "she's too light skinned, she shouldn't win MBGN, she doesn't rep Africa".

Few months back your coach told someone to go back to belgium "white dude" and it was okay, if reverse was the case you'll see all black people crying offence.

We Africans are racists too, the only thing is other races don't give us the opportunity to shi.t them.
Thank you!! the hypocrite of some Nigerians is unbelievable
America:: Racist toward Blacks in states like Tenessee, Kenturkey, Missisippi, Arkansas, West Virginia, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma.

States like California and some of the states listed above are racist towards not just blacks, but Asians, Mexicans and worst of all Arabs..

U.K:: stabbing capital of the world.. Hate mostly Blacks and Indians

But like someone said, it depends on what part of the country you live in..
That stabbing is mostly blacks on blacks. So will you call that racist?

tdayof: I need different opinion
I'm not surprised that people are not answering your question which is unusual here in travel section considering the fact that those two countries have a growing number of followers here.

You don't show courtesy in your questions, you need to appreciate the fact that people are helping you, don't throw question at people and seat back and expect responses to start flooding in.

That said^^.....what level of studies are going for? I asked because different level attract different school fees and duration in each country.

Phinalphantasy:
I am interested in the answer as well. I am presently planning on quitting a job and furthering. However I have more questions:

is it easier to get a job during schooling in Canada than UK?(Masters Programme)
is it easier getting a job after the MAsters programme in canada than UK?
what is the likelihood of securing a job in both countries?
i know UK is now a fiish-school-and-go-home country but I am thinking there could be some requirements that could make one have staying power?
Don't quit your job yet, take a study leave, i'm not sure about Canada but getting a graduate job in the UK after graduation is tough, getting part time job while studying is not too difficult but it will get a lot harder as Bulgarians and Romanians get full right to live and work in the UK from day, so part time jobs will be a hot cake and preference will be given to EU citizens.

ironbender101: I applied for a HK visa since May 2013 and just yesterday the lady that processed my visa called me and told me ma visa is out. I have a very strong doubt as its my first time of applying for a visa and also ma passport is a virgin passport. I had issues with my agent because I thought she was a fraud when she collected 40k from me and after some months, I angrily requested for my passport and forgot everything about the HK trip totally. Now my fried in the states told me that HK visa is shengen visa and that the fake is so much here in Nigeria that I should try and verify. He also said the only way to verify is when I get to HK. Now I'm very confused, and I don't believe the agent either. Please house I need help I'm very confused now. I need your comments. Thanks and pardon ma English.
HK visa is not a schengen visa and if the visa is fake you will know that at the airport, you will not even be allowed to board.
