turl: lol so true. bandwagon thins.. It's not like they're taking your money from you or anything.
Its a Nigerian thing, they read the headline and jump on keyboard. The bond thing will only affect very very few Nigerians, only first time visiting visa holder will deposit the bond which is refundable. South Africa does the same but you don't see Nigerians complaining.
Travel › Re: Why I Support The Decision Of The Gambia Govt To Pull Out Of The Commonwealth by justwise(mod): 2:56pm On Oct 05, 2013
naijaspeak: Recently the government of the Gambia under Yayah Jahmeh informed the world of Gambia decision to pull out of the Commonwealth.

For whatever reason that informed the Gambia government to embark on this decison, I am in support of it. The reason being that the rich countries of the commonwealth are not helping the struggling countries to rise up.

Take for example, Countries like the United Kingdom ( Britain ) Australia, New Zealand, etc possess a lot of resources to accommodate citizens from other member state like Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, South Africa and so on.

But these countries denied other Commonwealth national easy access to their countries by tighting up immigration. If you are a Nigerian, Ghanian, Gambians, you can not easily secure travelling visa to these rich commonwealth countries.

More recently the United Kingdom issued a 3,000 British Pound ( BPS ) on Nigerian travellers entering Britain including citizen from some few other countries. This is unfair to Nigerians and citizen from the not so developed countries.

It is against the culture of commonwealth and what the commonwealth is promoting.

The commonwealth is supposed to have a system whereby one citizen from one commonwealth can enter another commonwealth country visa free.

This bad policy have grown to a stage whereby commonwealth countries in the caribean such as Trinidad and Tobaga, are even tighting up their immigration to Nigerians citizen traveling there.

If you want to travel to Trinidad from Nigerian the Trindad High Commission will request that you deposit a security money which will be given to you upon your return to Nigeria from Trindad this does not promote the culture of the commonwealth.

Against all this back ground, Gambia is right in pulling out the the commonwealth. What development has the commonwealth even brought to Nigeria in the first place.

If Nigeria aligned itself with China we will benefit more than with this so called commonwealth that is not bringing any good to our life but a symbol of British exploitative expansionism.
Are those countries richer than Nigerian or that they have fewer thieving politicians and manages their resource better than Nigeria?

Why do you want other countries to help us while we are not helping ourselves? Why do we steal and bank in those countries and not investing in our own country?

Davidbanky: Most people just run away from pressure here because sometimes u don't want lagbaja to know u are still in the same position, it's not greener over there, it's just another hustling ground, we just live in the ' he lives abroad mentality ' we have here .... I don't even know what u want to go and invent in a developed country that will be new to them ... What am saying in the long run is that the money is too much and it's not fair ...
I can bet my last dollar that most of you commenting on this bond issue know little or nothing about it, inventing what in the UK while on visiting visa?
I added everything you just mentioned, but I 'm applying as a single person because I haven't done a change of name. I added my business reg, pictures, tax cert clearance, my budget, everything. Even my shares certificates I added them, the present value of my Landed property from diya fatimilehin was there, everything. With that i've established a social tie
If you added everything and the ECO said that he doesn't believe that the money belongs to you then it means that the cash flow is not consistent with your earnings
Travel › Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by justwise(mod): 10:52am On Oct 05, 2013
The entry clearance officer said he isn't satisfied my financial circumstances are as stated, I added my Land document, Plan, Deed of assignments, C of O, Governors consent, reference letter from my bank, account statements, this UK embassy is just shit I swear! I have a social tie here in Nigeria, I did the hotel booking with my credit dollar card. I have previous travel history to the middle east and south Africa, so what else do they want, i'm just weak! I hope my lawyer can make a case out of it and counter them.
Added all that but forgot to add something that will show how you made that money, nothing about your business and the state of your business, no tax certificate, no budget on how much the trip will cost you, no list of places you tend to visit in the UK, no marriage certificate and family pictures, letter from the Governor means nothing.
Travel › Re: Should Nigerians Pay £3000 For UK Visa Bond?? by justwise(mod): 10:23am On Oct 05, 2013
Davidbanky: Why would I pay that kind of money to go to UK of all places, as if they will pay me for staying there, I ll rather do business with my money here, am sure by the time as suppose to come back from the UK I would have made close to that amount as profit in business, it doesn't make sense to me sef, what if the value for pounds dropped from what I paid in the first place ? Nothing special about UK aprt from the premier league ... The rest is just another advanced Nigeria ....
That alone is special, anything that is better than Nigeria is special
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 8:39am On Oct 05, 2013
I added my tax clearance certificate I always pay my tax! I just think the ECO thinks the money in my account doesn't belong to me, because he just crowned everything up by saying he doesn't think my financial circumstances are as stated. Which is really disheartening, i'm sure my Lawyer can make a case out of it hopefully because my business is a venture not Limited so I can spend from the account, there is no part of the immigration Law that says so, and it's just a reason so it's a straight forward case
Ok, good luck
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 12:23am On Oct 05, 2013
so what do you suggest I do now because the lawyer can't know it all
You will be wasting your money getting a lawyer.

Sort your finance out, separate your business account from personal current account, pay tax on your business earnings and get tax certificate
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 11:47pm On Oct 04, 2013
I was refused a general vistor visa on stupid grounds, the ECO looked for a fault and decided to pour it on my finances like they usually do, saying they don't think the financial circumstances presented by me is true therefore I can't fund my holiday to the UK and also I can't take money from mu business account to fund a personal trip, I make my money so what's their problem, i've called my immigration lawyer and he is doing the review on my behalf. I hope the decision is overturned and I get the visa
The ECO is right, you don't use business money for foreign leisure trip. Yes you made your money but its their business because its their country.

comfortmuniru: oh thanks justwise, i added the datapage of his british passport certified by a lawyer, should i add my statement of account and fixed deposit account statement.? thanks
Add anything document that will strengthen your application, so adding your bank statement will not be a bad idea

comfortmuniru: hi @eebeano49, thanks for your input, i didnt print my husband's passport pages showing the stamps from immigration because they were very faint, can i be refused because of that? bt i have his itinerary for the journey to naija and back, also i have original bank statements, payslips were signed by his employers, tenancy agreement solely his own flat . He doesn't send me money, because i have a good job in naija, so there really isn't any need for that. thanks again, please any other thing am leaving out?.
You need to add the data page of his passport that contains his status in the UK.

Yes don't 4get to add that you earn enough hence no need to receive money from him

Ricky Rozay: DON'T judge a Book by it's Cover.....

Okay. Let me ask you this Perfect Question..

For Example; You are my Best Friend or a very close friend of Mine, and Your Father is Not financially capable of sponsoring your Studies abroad Neither do any of your Relative do have the Required Funds as well to assist You financially in pursing your dreams by studying abroad..

IF for example, My Dad Or Mother Or Uncle is veryy Rich and financially Capable of sponsoring your Studies in the US and his Willing to give you his Financial Statement for you to Use in supporting you all through your Application..

Does this mean this is Illegal?

Please answer this question..

I'm waiting for your response.......
The scenario you described above is just story, that was not the case here. That was not his line of inquiry, he was looking for a way to 'prepare' bank statement, forged/get build account for visa application, you just painted a complete different story.

Back to your story, no matter how madly rich your parents are, he will struggle to convince the VO that a complete stranger wants to invest millions of naira in him.

comfortmuniru: we got married in lagos, Ikoyi registry to be precise. also to add, i havent seen my husband since january dt i left, because i just got back to work and i couldnt get another leave just yet. we ave been planning the wedding since january wen i left tho. so he came home in september and spent 3 weeks. bt i have chat records, skype records, emails, phone call records to cover all the period we were nt togeda.
Then you don't have much to worry about, don't forget the marriage pictures, the financial requirement, the accommodation papers (tendency agreement or mortgage papers)
