Afam4eva: The things is deactivating your account only deletes your profile and the account but leaves the posts. So, what you should do is to delete your comments before deactivating the account.Yes but will you be able to delete the comment of those who quoted your thread? |
Afam4eva: Maybe i used the wrong word. The point is that, some people have made statements that they regret and maybe because they wish to run for the senate, decide that it's best they don't have a trace of those comments anymore and wish to deactivate their account. It's a common practice for them to be granted their wish. That's why that feature is in every forum CMS....and what happens when that thread made FP and many people have quoted the original post? Will account deactivation solve the problem? |
Davo93: HahahahaIts obvious that common sense is your weak point. |
@All I'm all for people praying and fasting for one favour or the other from God but please lets not turn this thread to Sunday service. Praying and fasting is a private thing between you and your God, lets leave this thread for what it was started for and not pasting prayer lines here, you can start a thread in religious section for that. Thank you. |
Davo93: Hi friend, don't be ignorantly deceived by that insultive MOD. Let me ask you, what happens to your post, notes and status updates when you deactivate your Facebook Page or Account??You are the ignorant one here and sadly you don't see it. This is not facebook, nairaland system is different from facebook. You don't quote peoples post in facebook, you can prevent people from seeing your updates, pictures or posts in facebook but nairaland is not designed like that and deactivation button will not prevent people from seeing your quoted posts |
adeaugustus: Now, I do, wasn't reasoning along that line initially, We're stuck here. I get it. But I think personal request should be granted provided the thread is created by the user registering the complain. I have a topic in travel section that I'd like to get rid of, am fully aware that you're a moderator in that section, I made a report on the thread, but you did not remove it. I am fully aware that you guys are not paid for the service you're rendering, but I believe that what worth doing, worth doing well. That system is in place already, mods do respond to such requested as long as its in the interest of everybody. I did not see any complain from you, i have gone through almost all your posts down to 2011. Some people who are supporting this deactivating button issue are doing it for all wrong reasons, yes i believe that people should be able to deactivate their accounts when they are fed up with nairaland but the excuse of protecting member's safety, security, privacy and intellectual property are just nonsense because deactivation button will not do any of those. |
druid06: It's just common sense. We all improvise sometimes. You can't say that when you are not Afam4eva |
druid06: Couldn't you just shy your eyes away from the error. He meant to say something else but he could find the right vocab and so he improvised. How do you know that? |
Afam4eva: While i think the OP should have presented his case with more imploring rather than threats, i'm surprised at this your comment. It's a global practice for every website in the world to have a deactivate button. It doesn't have to make the forum better but simply gives every member the right to their intellectual property. I should be able to deactivate my account when i want.Afam4eva? How will deactivating button protect member's intellectual property? |
adeaugustus: You don't get it!!! Modifying my post doesn't change the ones that have been quoted. Take for instance, you can't edit what I quote up there again, even if you modify the original post, this would still be there!Actually you don't get it as well, deactivating button will not change the quoted post too. |
I feel like r@@ping some mods till dey bleed and run inro coma. Gosh! Some are so annoying bitchy like some feminine GAYS, spewing like ho.r.n.y he-slüttt. Mtchwww. Is it thru sum are banned for a thousand years? Ewo!!!! Chi moo!!!!!? Ehhhhhhh!!! Hmmmmm!!!
This is disgusting and you need to be ashamed of yourself |
jammyng: Oga justwise, I don't have any. Pls can you give me a link? I understand all visas are done by the companies but I have no link to those companies and no one in qatar to run around for me. I can't do a "FREE" visa from Nigeria.Have you actually taken your time to read this thread? Some members here have taken their time to explain the visa and job issue over and over again. I think the prob we have here is info overload that have made some people so lazy and relaxed to do some reading. |
Bro! Your moniker should be ''Just*opposite of wise*'' What has ASUU got to do with this? I thought a username should mirror the user reasoning not the other way round.
Your ability to think outside the box is severely limited. |
sexkillz: If we don't help them, who will? The thread would have still been in page one. If you doubt me, count the number of posts that actually supported this nonsense.Sadly they don't appreciate our selfless service ![]() |
Kamanda: I need HELP!!! Too much Blood in my Alchohol stream. drink more 'blood' then |
jammyng: Ok igwe. Then, you can recommend someone for those of us who have no direct link to qatar. I believe that if we engage forumites to help us, it'll be great. We can have a situation where we pay after the visa is out.Who told you that you need to have a link in Qatar to be able to get a visa? |
ogakpatakpata: @jammyng.......................l got your PM in my inbox; l guess since you have been away for a while, let me re-freshened you quickly, I have been the subject of attack by WICKED and FACELESS AGENTS in the forum who come with multiple ID's to wreck havoc and undermine what we have been able to achieve on this thread, the last attack was a thread that was opened against me and the Moderator of this thread, the guy was banned because he came up with a baseless and false accusation, subsequently l was sent an apology mail by the management of the forum, click on page 123 and 124 of this thread and read all that happened, as a result, my account was hacked by unknown and wicked agents, l decided to stop responding to PM's from the forum and l also put a lot of security measures to protect my account. You have done what any decent human being will do, sadly people will still send PMs to individuals about visa |
Kamanda: My mind tells me the real name of the bloke behind this I.D starts with S and he is not Sexkillz I suspect that too ![]() |
sexkillz: Yup. That's all what this is. We're helping him achieve it. That is part of our duty as caring mods ;Dm helping some loners get some much needed attention |
Delphy97: When you submit a bank statement to the ukba for a student visa, are you allowed to still withdraw money from that account since you have money to fund the stay in another account. If not, where is it stated that you are to keep the money there http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/Tier4migrantguidance.pdf Read from: ''Documents needed to show money available to you'' |
Davo93: Obviously true, but you that even claim not to be affected by the strike behave in a worse manner...I really hope that you find something useful to do with your time after this '15mins' of fame |
Davo93: Not me of course... you are a confused fellow, why mentioning ASUU since this thread started.ASUU strike has allowed some kids to invade nairaland while mum & daddy are at work. |
Ich liebe dich:Yea i'm helping myself for sure but your problem is even more embarrassing, next time you copy from wikipedia copy with sense, and one more thing....wikipedia is not a good source of referencing |
Davo93: Are you scared you could be 'convicted' after the whole show??Scared, Convicted by who? You? i blame ASUU strike |
Ich liebe dich: there are nairaland users who are nt nigerians thats a knw fact. U dnt ave any valid point first it was abt visiting nairaland nw u've entered registering as a member. Say whatever makes u happyI'm trying to help you come out from your narrow minded thinking, after copying statement word to word from wikipidia you ran out of what to say. |
Davo93: Obviously, he has to and see how things unfold because he is a prime suspect in this case owning to the request number 1 & 2.You are demanding an apology from me? |
Ich liebe dich: u no jst wise at all all, even if u add those living abroad it doesnt add to the 1 million plus users. Most nairaland users have alternate accounts.I can see how wise you are from your posts, so because a Nigerian owns nairaland, you automatically think that only Nigerians can register as members ? |
Ich liebe dich: thats nt hard naw, even wikipedia knws, nigeria has approximately 44 million internet users onli a few percentage knw nairaland So basically nairaland is visited by Nigerians living in Nigeria only? |
