slimmy05: I just see it as unfair on his part. The guy has his interview 3rd of oct and you deprived him of such opportunity. To me only a wicked heart will do such irrespective of little offence. Its just too extreme please. Even Seun himself would pardon him.
What opportunity did i deprive him? Did i stop him from logging on and reading posts here?

Don't insult me.
Nairaland General › Re: A Response To The Open Letter To Seun Osewa by justwise(m):
Seun: We also hereby apologize for the rudeness of some of our moderators to the people who asked for this feature earlier. Please understand that Nairaland moderators are not staff. They are ordinary Nairaland members such as you who have volunteered to help in their spare time. They are independent agents just like you. The opinions they express on the forum are theirs and theirs alone. They do not represent me or speak for me unless I directly ask them to do so, and I didn't ask anyone to speak for me on this issue. I prefer to speak for myself most of the time.

However, I apologize for the inflammatory statements that some of them have made and I promise to expose them to some sensitivity training.

Best regards,
Seun Osewa.
I'm ready to receive that training but while we do that you also need a training in man management skills, many of us receive little or no support from you, you hardly communicate with us even as we have private channel of communication, you preferred disrespecting your moderators in public than having private discussion/ warning before going public.

How do you expect us to be the best we can when you publicly claimed that we are not part of your staff? That we don't represent you and speak on your behalf? Why do you allow many of us to put in more than 4yrs of our life trying to keep our individual sections organized and decent while all we get in return are abuses and death threat both in private and in public? Why do you take our service to you and nairaland community for granted and at the same time expect the best from us?

No moderator is an angel, we all make mistakes but no moderator will take abuses on daily bases with absolutely no support from the site owner without cracking at one point.

SEXKILLZ moderate the two most visited and most controversial section in this site, its practically impossible for him not to have enemies, was he not voted by the public to moderate Romance section? Was he not voted the best moderator in nairaland only just a year at the job?

Hiring and firing will not change the fundamental problem, whoever you bring in tomorrow will face the same problem which your attitude towards your moderators and only an angel will hang on taking it all in without cracking.

Regarding people who work for you as ordinary member and agents is the highest level of insensitive.

Chillisauce: What a thread cheesy.
My opinion,
1.If you are deleting user names, pls put an anonymous in the persons previous threads and comments, like that one cannot trace the comments to the user and the comment can still be active for ppl to read.

2. Let the mods named, like Mod1 or modRomance.,,.or you make the mod not to comment on topics.

3. Pls, all nairalands, protect your user name the same way u protect your password. Imagine leaving your computer on, and someone sees it, you are finished grin

More to come
Mods should not comment on topics? Really? How will mods in job, career, travel, education, auto help members who need advice in those areas? Are you for real? What right have you got to tell ordinary member of nairaland not to comment on topics?

sexkillz: [color=#000030]I am not a staff of Nairaland. I am an ordinary independent Nairaland member/agent. My opinions are mine and mine alone. I am responsible for what I say, but, I am not responsible for how you choose to understand what I say. I volunteer my time, energy and resources to Nairaland because I love a sane environment, online or offline. I am not the best and have never claimed to be the best.
Most of the people calling me jobless have more Nairaland posts than I do(alt accounts inclusive), so their rants to me is classified as "hot air".

Nairaland adds no dime to me. I could care less about staying as a mod or leaving. I was happier as a non-mod. It makes no sense holding on to a position that adds no value to my life especially since mods are hired and retired all the time. Thinking that I am holding on to this post is only an opinion formed in your head and of course, you are entitled to your own opinion.

Listen, you are free to use agent, its your money and not mine, all we are here doing is to help each other as much as we can, we can't solve everybody's visa problem.

ogakpatakpata: @goodtalk and other forumites.

l have listened to various submissions on the Qatar issue, personally l have friends in Qatar in senior management positions who went there directly from Nigeria, but, the truth must be told here, care, caution and wisdom has to prevail here. l have received several calls from different people who want me to recommend people for them in Qatar to assist them with the 5yr work visa, my position is this:

1. The moderators are not comfortable when it comes to visa issue and the fact that money has to be paid to a third party, l kind of lean towards there position because of the havoc that has been perpetuated by so many agents, l also know that the moderators are not against anybody travelling to anywhere in the world as long as the forum will not be used as a means/tool to defraud anybody, that is why we have the forum to gather relevant informations in the first place.

2. Qatar is not a do it yourself (DIY), we all know that

3. In the past several companies where desperate to come and recruit from Nigeria directly, but, it is no longer so as they have a pool of migrants to choose from in Doha.

4. The best way to get the Qatar 5yr work visa is to have a TRUSTED, GENUINE, GOD FEARING PERSON who will act as an intermediary/middle man between you and the company.

5.We are in a faceless forum, and l must also add that we have wonderful and smart Nigerians on this thread and other thread who are genuinely assisting/contributing their efforts, energy and time to counsel and advise thousands and millions of first time travellers and we have lots of wonderful testimonies and feed back to this effect.

6. We also have fake, con-artist, scammers and fraudsters who are prowling or scanning for gullible travellers to swindle, and they seem to have out-numbered the few good ones.

7. Anybody can come online and claim he is an imam, pastor or voodoo priest, he may even be calling the names of ""GOD"" in every post but inwardly he is a ""ravening wolf"", or rather ""wolf in sheep clothings"", once money changes hands you will be surprised to see how the same person calling or swearing by his ""HOLY BOOK"" suddenly changes.

8. This is my fears, worries and concerns as regard the whole Qatar issue.

9.Don't bother to go to Qatar airways because they will tell you almost the same thing we already know.

10.Qatar has 15 days tourist visa and also 6 months visa, but, some people argued that it doesn't make sense to go to Qatar with either the tourist or visit visa because at the end of the day you will certainly need the 5yr work visa to enable you to work , and when you put the money you must have spent in securing the visit visa and ticket is almost equivalent to the 5yr work visa.

11. When some people call me privately and ask me if they should transfer money to member A,B, C or D. My question to them is do you know this person very well and trust him to assist you without stories and games at the end of the day, l further ask them, supposing anything goes wrong, wont you go and open a thread like it has been done wickedly/falsely and mischieviously before against me that ogakpatakpata recommended me to give money to somebody and the person has duped me., once l throw all this questions to them, they will say , thank you we understand your fears.

12. Finally, the major fears, worries, concerns and question is WHOM DO WE TRUST TO ASSIST OUR FORUMITES IN QATAR ISSUES CONSIDERING THE HAVOC SOME AGENTS HAVE DONE AGAINST SEVERAL PEOPLE.

13. THIS IS THE MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION SURROUNDING THE QATAR 5YR WORK VISA

Good day to all members of this forum and enjoy your weekend!! cheesy cheesy
That still remain my stand, we can't endorse any idea of allow any agent or individual to act as a contact in Qatar or recommend any company, very few Nigerians can be trusted when it comes to the issue of money, i don't want somebody to come back here later to accuse me of collaborating with agent or individual to defraud them.

I arrived UK yesterday morning. Still trying to get settled. Tho I was dragged to a student night party last night. It was really crazy.

Which area in Bradford did you get accommodation? There are some good and really rubbish areas. Lived in Bradford for a good number of yrs.

mikelreal: This thread just shows the amount of agberos we ve as mods. NL ought to ve been greater than what it is 2day, after how many years of its existence, it shuda been the facebook of Nigeria or even africa, but when u ve touts with zero manners as workers, well we all know d outcome... Its a pity.
This is what you called conversation? How long did it take you to start insulting the mods now?
Nairaland General › Re: An Open Letter To Mr Seun And Crew Members by justwise(m): 10:17am On Sep 29, 2013
mikelreal: lol in otherwords m now lousy? U see what pple re talkin bout? Was juz tryin tu ve a simple convo, but its obvious u lack self control, like serzly grow up man, n stop actin like a kid. I wonder where seun pack all dz touts from
That is your own interpretation of that sentence, saying that you made some lousy/bad generalizations does not mean that i called you names, there is no insult in my replies to you but your reply above shows why i don't do diplomacy.
Nairaland General › Re: An Open Letter To Mr Seun And Crew Members by justwise(m):
mikelreal: well, since creating the button wont hurt anybdy, why is it now becomin so difficult? As I said earlier I need the deactivation button to be able to deactivate my account whenever I want to,n block unsolicited mails, pm's, notifications n d likes, not to wipe away my "history"
You re a mod for a reason, ther shud be a code of conduct, goodluck jonathan s bein hurled with insults on daily basis, I cant remember him replying any, why? because he has to respect the office/post he holds.
With the likes of sexkillz a mod is just like a tout, lacks control... Mr Seun has been insulted uncountable times, I havent seen him reply any comment with insult, why? because he is a leader n he has t respect the position he holds..if you cant respect the position ua holding, simply drop it n join us, so u can be free to say whatever u wanna say whenever u wantu.
Peace.
'Wait for Seun to make that decision, you can block nairaland email address from sending you reminders.

You made a lot of lousy generalization , i don't know how you get to know that Goodluck Jonathan or Seun get insulted everyday and they do nothing about it.
Nairaland General › Re: An Open Letter To Mr Seun And Crew Members by justwise(m): 9:25am On Sep 29, 2013
mikelreal: I liked your comment, why? because you gave good points..now to ur point regardin illogical reasons, re u tryin to say all the reasons given by the op re illogical? not to mention the unsolicited mails NL sends to you when you dont login for more than a wk? re all these illogical?? @sexkillz startd this whole BS with his unguarded comments, so who will u blame if not ur fellow mod who seems to ve gone psycho?
Reasons i called illogical are: privacy, security and safety, deactivation button will not do any of those considering the way nairaland is designed.

Its your responsibility as an individual to be responsible online, hiding under an ID to say whatever you like thinking that deactivating your account will wipe out your past dirty history is just laughable

I was not against the request (if i need to repeat it over and over again) and the mods have the right just like everybody else to support or oppose the request.
Nairaland General › Re: An Open Letter To Mr Seun And Crew Members by justwise(m): 9:05am On Sep 29, 2013
Spartan3d: Sir ve known you to be a very good mod, with a complete sense, right from the dubai thread n the travel section, your comments here re really shocking...pls we really need ur proffessional attitude towards issues here, no fall my hand abeg.. thierz absolutely ntn wrong in the request bein made here, no need for the insults.
As I said earlier, I respect u alot.. tnks.
I have a simple policy..if you approached me with respect i will return the same, i don't do diplomacy when dealing with people who are quick to insult you and at the same time expect you to swallow and shut up.

Read through my posts here from the beginning and see my replies to those who were decent and matured in their replies. Most of these people think they have every right to say whatever they like to any moderator and at the same time claiming freedom of speech.

I was not against people making polite request, i support that because that can only improve nairaland, i'm against rude, obnoxious and arrogant individuals here who got no respect for other people's opinion, if you don't agree with their views the insults start raining.

I have said in my earlier post that there is nothing wrong with people suggesting for deactivation button but the reasons given are illogical and the approach is totally wrong.

Seun has the final say but you don't start making demands and threats even before Seun say a thing and any mod that replies are called all sorts of names.
