Gerrard59: There are jobs in the UK, but they are poorly renumerated. Even British citizens acknowledge this. They cry in their posts when salaries are compared in a sub-reddit I follow. And this is not the tech industry o. The annoying aspect is the high cost of living. Now, with BREXIT, Brits have to apply for visas to visit EU countries.
In my opinion, any passport that easily affords her holders to work in the US is better off than the next one that does not offer similar opportunity. That is not true, British citizens do not need a visa to visit EU countries. Cost of health care in US takes away whatever salary gap them have over the UK. |

thebosstrevor1: Tensazangetsu20 is right Uk citizens need H1B visa to work in the United states. .
Salaries are low in the UK, so ambitious professionals move from the Uk to the United states to work.
Many Uk tech entrepreneurs, youtubers, Doctors, actors, musicians, professional sport men and women and scientists etc always immigrate to the US, they need visas to work in the US You do not understand my point |

tensazangetsu20: A UK citizen still needs H1B for the USA and there's no special pool. You would also need to do express entry or LMIA to get a job in Canada They don’t need such because they have the jobs and the same system here. You still don’t understand this . |

tensazangetsu20: People can research. A south american passport from the mentioned countries triumps that of the UK. I read lengthy explanations you gave to support your claims then you went back to modify it. British citizens do not need to queue at any embassy applying for visa to work in any country because they have those jobs here. Those who do will not struggle to get such visa .compare south american passports and its benefits to Nigerian passport. I No south american passport is even in top 10 world ranking… if you found any drop the link here. |

tensazangetsu20: Go and read bros. . Read far and wide and don't say something like this outside. At the moment, a citizenship of a south american country. Countries like Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Uruguay triumps that of the UK by far. Please explain.. |

Viruses: You are speaking from a place of ignorance.
Elon Musk will not go to a supermarket and buy a bottle of water for a hundred thousand pounds because he can afford it.
My water bill average around £150/annum and I'm still looking for a way to bring it down. That is really impressive to be honest, i'm not sure i can go any lower |
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by justwise(mod): 10:24am On Feb 17, 2023 |
Solumtoya: I agree, but you have to know that the easiest way to estimate usage is by property size. Some companies use number of occupants but it's typically unreliable because people never notify them when the occupants increase. With size of property, they can give a median occupant number without relying on your honesty. Size of property shouldn't be used because sometimes not all rooms in a property are occupied but we have seen where 3-4 people share one room, this is very common in Eastern European and Asian communities. If the size of your family increased the water company will know whether you tell them or not because your usage level will go up. |
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by justwise(mod): 7:57am On Feb 17, 2023 |
Solumtoya: Well, it depends. The average water (and sewage) bill in England and Wales is about £503 which is £42 monthly which is exactly what I pay and I have a meter. Your £25 may not be the norm. His £48 monthly is only slightly high especially without a meter Its down to usage, the size of property argument used by these water companies does not cut it. |
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by justwise(mod): 7:48am On Feb 17, 2023 |
claremont: The property size is one minor factor, but the family size is the main factor. I pay £50 a month for water for a family of 4. It used to be £42 until they recently increased it because, apparently, my water meter is indicating high usage. I think the figure is correct, we use a lot of water in the house. It might be only Grant Shapps that can spend only 4 mins in the shower after a hard days job, most people who do long hours will spend longer. When i was living alone in one bedroom house my water bill was £16 a month with no meter but now family of 4, bigger property, the same water company, the same post code area and my bill is £24 a month with meter. Though i think you are right regarding the usage factor, i just logged on to my online account to check our usage and i saw this: You are a super water saver. Let's keep working together |

That is the same reason why things are not working in nigeria ,everybody wants good life but dont want to be commited and responsible ,that is fraud of the highest order What exactly are you on about? |

igbsam: Elders, United Utilities don comot sleep from my eyes, abeg £584.08 for the period of 31.03.2023 to 31.03.2024 coupled with £299.91 that i am still trying to clear before 31.03.2023. eleyi o wa poju bayi. Isn't this too much ? How can i go about it ? Is too much ke. For ordinary water o. Any tweak to this thing ? Edakun o. When i called to complain, they said the bill is being charged on the size of the property. 2 bedroom apartment o with only me and my wife. I told them we're just 2 in the house. They said its not about the number of people living in the house, but the size of the property. I just weak. And i noticed one thing about these UK customer care services and this cuts across all services being rendered when you call them to complain about something, instead of them to solve that issue or give you a solution that would favour you, they would rather tell you their own reasons why you should pay the amount they're charging you and you have to pay. Next thing you go hear na say "What's your name for us to set up direct debit" shey you dey whine me ni, na because of direct debit i call ni abi una wan strangulate my life and pocket. That is high even without water meter, my water bill is less than £25 a month for a 3beds property, the problem with water companies is lack of competition in that sector else water bill will be a lot cheaper. Keep writing and calling them until they bring it down |

rinzylee: Hi family, happy new month.
Please can I get your opinions and guidance on this matter..
A new family in my city here (Man , wife and 3 kids (2 girls and 1 boy) moved in October. Man is a a student and wife just started care job today.
Their son who is the eldest goes to a school close-by, but the girls have to wait till September for a space so they had to secure another school 6 miles away.
This new school sends a taxi to pick the girls everyday at the cost of the school. I am worried this may be public funds. I said they should confirm that this would not cause some trouble in future. I asked the woman again yesterday and she said her husband said it is not, but pleaded I help her verify.
Biko my people, are they safe with this free taxi
Is it a trap?
Is it public funds
@Lexusgs430 @Justwise
And anybody bikonu Let the husband email the school to get an answer then save their response for future use, not all public fund policy is clear and many govt agencies are incapable of giving clear and straightward answer regarding this. |

Is anyone in Bedford/Bedfordshire area that would want a grey 2seater sofa, fridge freezer and a TV stand?
It's up for sale but if it's not sold by Friday then the person can collect for free on Saturday
Cheers You may get rid of those items quicker if you post an ad in Facebook Marketplace, you can put the price for as low as £30-50, if you put FREE you may struggle to get rid of those items. |
