kazlam: actually the guy is still trying to go to embassy but presently he is consulting a lawyer to nknow if their is any legal implication
I'm thinking that your friend has something to hide. consulting a lawyer for what? He should be calling the agent that made that application to know if he added any document that is not supposed to be there

kazlam: what did you advice him to do should he take the passport to embassy while the man at the embassy claim to know nothing while the visa was put on hold, and the visa is still fresh on his passport advice
He has no choice than to go to the embassy, if he got nothing to hide then why worry? If he refuses to go then he can say goodbye to traveling to USA again.

kazlam: justwise please this case is serious bcs my friend can figure out while his visa was place on hold while he still in nigeria and embassy did not notify him about it
If the documents he submitted were all genuine and he did not make any false statement in his application or during interview then he got nothing to worry about.

IamJerry: Please justwise, I need ur help. I got an offer letter from a training academy in london and I don't have toelf or any other english test. The school said, it is not part of their requirement; this means that they don't require english test like toelf or others.

Please what I want to know now is that, since the academy doesn't require toelf, I don't want to write it again......if I don't submit toelf in the embassy, will my visa be refused or granted?

Is it **compulsory** that I submit toelf at the embassy even if my academy does not really require it? Is TOELF or other english test compulsory in embassy?
What is the name of the school and how long is the training?
The programme starts this Sept. 2013...
Oh ok! i thought you said March.

Ok..the source of your money does not matter neither does your passport indicating student matters. As long as you met the student visa requirements then you will be fine.
Hello Justwise! I have a question that is of a concern to me.
I applied for a tier 4 visa for my MArch studies in London and my application is pending.
I have provided the CAS and proof of sufficient funds for both maintenance and tuition
fees(a total of 19755 GBP). My question is will the UKBA question the source of the money?
I have been working for a year now and earning a good salary, problem is my passport states
that I am a student... I don't know y it hasn't cross my mind to scan my labor card or provide any proof
from my firm that I am working... Is this a problem?, will they pick on this issue? In my bank statements
it shows that I am receiving a salary.. undecided undecided undecided

I am applying from the U.A.E
March which year?

Yes...very important

ibomboy: Thanks Justwise,
I have informed my school that i will be on scholarship and sent them the details of the award letter. similarly the awarding body sent a copy of the award letter they sent me to the school. However after making enquiries from the school if they are going to issue me another CAS or I should use the old CAS(which showed part fees payment) for my visa application, they said i should use the old CAS that they won't issue me a new one. This is the last mail they sent me "You will need to submit an original letter confirming your scholarship with your visa application. Your CAS will be updated online to show you have paid £4600 towards your tuition fees. You will not be issued with another CAS."
What do you think?
In that case print the email from the school directly from your inbox, don't copy the email and paste elsewhere before printing, attach the email to your visa application.

Pls what do you mean by staying with my friend is good, Do you mean I can also use that? Secondly, what do you mean by school address, I don't have nor have i paid for any school accommodation, or do you mean the plain school address? Also I have a scholarship covering tuition and maintenance, though i had been saving money for maintenance and kept it for 28 days. Do i present just the official scholarship award letter alone or still need to provide the bank evidence in addition?? Thanks
1.Staying with a friend for few days before you get your own place is good but you don't need to mention that in your application form since you have your maintenance money.

2. Use your school International office/centre address as your contact address for now, when you get to the UK and get your own place you can change it.

3.Did you tell your school that you will be on scholarship? Was it stated in your CAS?

sollie001: Hi everyone! please i really need clarification and help on this:

I'm going to Swansea University this Sept, awaiting CAS though. i don't want university accommodation and hear i don't have to before getting a visa. please, how do i arrange for a place to stay for few days before getting accommodation? i want the cheapest option please. I'm planning to arrive on 20-22 Sept by God's grace and the course is starting on 23rd.
Look for cheap hotel in the city where your uni is located, book for 2days and use it to look for accommodation. Or search for accommodation like B&B (Bed and Breakfast) they are pretty cheap.

Chylo: This new visa application procedure is a little confusing to me. Pls I need advice - when submitting the documents at the VAC centre, should we fill in and submit a paper appendix as well as the online printout? or the printout alone. Thanks.

PS: I notice that slots fill up quickly in the appointment booking. And thus, even after applying online, you may have to wait for a week or two before u get an available slot for appointment, and then the added wait for the visa to come out. This info sld be useful to those planning to start applying later in august for sept start. My advice is to apply as early as you can, putting the wait before appointment into consideration + visa processing time.
Yes that is the case.

ibomboy: Justwise,
Thanks for your reply to my earlier question. How long will it take for the visa interview to be scheduled assuming I apply on monday? Also, can I use the address of a friend staying in the Uk as intended UK address since I haven't paid for a permanent accommodation yet. I intend staying with my friend for about 2weeks, within which time i should settle my accommodation. Thanks
Use your school address, staying with your friend is good, as for the interview...i don't know how long it takes before they call you but they will get in touch.

ibomboy: Justwise,
I need your advice concerning documents to include in my visa application. My CAS didn’t specify whether it used my degree certificate or my transcript even though I submitted both to the university, it just said “Qualification evidence : BMS medicine and Surgery University of Calabar.
English Evidence: Assessed at CEFR Level B2: BMS Medicine and Surgery
University of Calabar ” I don’t know if it was my transcript or degree certificate used. Getting my transcript from unical is quite difficult and may take some time. I want to do my visa application next week, can my original degree certificate alone suffice as the documentary evidence and get me the visa since my CAS didn’t specify transcript. Or will my visa be threatened? Pls reply!! Thanks.
Always submit those documents listed in your CAS, those documents you sent when you applied for the course.

Pataki: I was truly right when I earlier called you an over-zealous goat. You have a penchant for repeating the same idiocy.

Follow the rules as clearly stipulated on the forum. You live in an English speaking country, you have no reason whatsoever to be disgracing yourself with this appalling English sentences of yours. You are a moderator here. Lead by pristine example. Enough said.

I live in a country where English is not my official language. Where furthermore, I am able to speak, understand and write in two European languages. Currently, I am learning my third language.

You have entertained me enough tonight. Brush up on your English. That is my honest and priceless advice to you.

Cheers.
Bla bla bla...

Excuse after excuse, you don't have to live in an English speaking country to be able to speak and write good English, Don't try to correct others when your own English is not perfect, you are just shamelessly giving excuses.

Just as i'm going to brush up my own English, make sure you do that as well and stop giving silly excuses.

Pataki: You are a moderator. You expected to lead by pristine example. Nairaland rules are there for you to abide with.

It is disgraceful when you keep spewing appalling English sentences here. To even dare to imagine that you live in the UK?! I am thoroughly ashamed!

Ik ga naar nu slapen! Welterusten!!!!
Oh please! don't be ridiculous, who writes perfect English? You don't and should be the last person to correct others.

The rules are there for everybody to abide by not just the moderators, don't start correcting people when you are no better.

The British don't write better than non=British neither do they speak better than non-British, so that comment alone from you shows how primitive you are.
