Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by justwise(mod):
bigfrancis21: Thanks. But I was right when I mentioned that the VOs rarely ask for certificates. How many interview stories have you seen where certificates were asked? When he asked me what he'd present as certificate to the VO, I never suggested obtaining any forged document because I don't ever encourage forgery in anyway. Its why I told him the VOs rarely ask for certificates because they don't.

And the other one claiming that I'm giving false information, what does that one mean? How many success stories here did the applicants say the truth in all their replies? You want to tell me that all these 'my uncle/father/mother owns an oil company' bla bla bla are all true? Even the 'my uncle who is the owner of so-so company is sponsoring me' when in reality there's no company or the man in question isn't even related to the applicant. Applicants have been lying at points when necessary yet they were granted, and you're telling me I'm giving false information. If the guy mentions that he did his OND at a polytechnic, is that the first lie being told at the embassy? Read many US visa interview websites, and one thing is common in all of them which is, 'if you must lie to the VO lie boldly with confidence'. I never wrote those websites neither did I make the rules. Others have been giving the VOs false information which you yourself even know yet you chose to single me out.

I always advocated for the truth, sincerity and being genuine. I've never encouraged forgery of documents, fake things and the like, whether publicly on nairaland or privately on bbm/email. My posts on nl all indicate that. If I've ever misled anybody on this thread let him come out and say it.
You don't have the bottle to address me directly rather you shamelessly referred to me as 'the other one'.

When you told somebody to claim that he graduated from a non-existing college that is misleading, when you are trying to justify it by claiming that others lie as well it shows that you encourages it too.

Whether people lie at the interview or not that is not my problem, its theirs but don't encourage it here.

olumide098: am a genuie applicant...I seek entry into the UK and to come back home to Nigeria after 2 weeks tour because i have my money to spend. i was told to remove my email address and thats what i did ok. IF AM NOT GENUIE THEY WOULD HAVE BAN ME FOR 10 YEARS WHICH THAT DIDNT HAPPENED.

I hope you are not heading towards that because you are sounding too desperate, when people claimed that they want to visit the UK just for 'holiday' and got refused a visa, you expect them to try another country...e.g South Africa or Kenya..for the same holiday, but when you keep reapplying after numerous refusals then there is something fishy about that 'holiday'

LondonCool: Olumide, sorry I dont do online chats or discuss personal issues outside this forum. The advice given is enough for you to plan your next application. The ECO's in Lagos and Abuja come here to read this thread everyday so take off your email and I hope it is not the same one on your visa application or they will refuse you again

You don't seem like a genuine visa applicant, the bolded part shows that you have more to hide than you have said here.
Travel › Re: Cost Of Nigerian International Passport by justwise(mod):
Fm007: Ok tanx i think is posible.bt nw i no
Fraudulently its possible but the person will run into trouble using it. As the person lives in France, the passport should show that it was issued in France. If the passport is issued in Nigeria then it should have exit stamp (living Nigeria) Even if you forged that, the passport should also have another stamp indicating when the person entered France.

bigfrancis21: The VOs rarely ask for certificates. Mention any good polytechnic in Nigeria. For example, 'I didn my OND in Business management at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Imo state'.
Please don't encourage people to give misleading info at the interview that may harm them in future. VOs are not silly

I am really thank full to for your kind help.
justwise: Sure he can apply for general visiting visa, attach his business registration paper, tax certificate, business account, his personal account, his marriage certificate, family pictures, if he owns house then he can add the documents and make hotel booking in the UK.

If he works as an accountant then he needs everything in bold his salary account and leave letter

There's a link "Forgot COnfirmation Number" on the website now https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC/, you may check it for yourselves. Cheers!
Yes you can do that but not without the email address the agent used when registering for the lottery. These bogus agents will not give you the email address they used because they knew very well that you are retrieve the confirmation now

SAT1: hello all,
I must commend d efforts of every contributor to this thread. Its indeed a great service to humanity.

@justwice n other great minds: I got an offer @ University of Leeds and will possibly move in September. Kindly gist me on the school's reputation. I am currently arranging accommodation with Carr Mills, hope to talk to a forumee who has info abt their apartment.
MOST IMPOTANTLY I AM IN DILEMA NOW AS I HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE ON THE BEST WAY TO PAY MY TUITION FEE WHICH I ALREADY HAVE IN MY GTB ACC. I was considering a friend's suggestion that I should pay the fortune into d sch's Barclays account on arrival using my master card to withdraw d money from my GTB acc until I confirm on this thread that this is not feasible considering a max ATM withdrawal of £600 a day( and am to pay £16500). Somebody mention using CBN within the thread but the question is how do I go abt doing that when my money is in another bank? GTB suggested I open a dommy acc for them to make d payment for me but am not comfortable with that as I dont know the exchange rate they would use. PLS ADVISE!

@ cipslim and other tech gurus: am glad to kno u studied Telecomms Engineering, am also pursuing Telecommunications and Signal processing @ MSc level @University of Leeds. I have over 3years telecoms in Nigeria here ( with Starcomms, Nera MW and currently Huawei Technologies as a TX Engineer), also bagged a couple of ICT certifications along the line. Though I dont issues with comming back to Naija after ma MSC as getting my self back into the telecoms sector should be my least problem (plus Huawei would readily take me back, but what's my professional job prospects in the UK? putting in mind that my company( Huawei) is fast growing in Europe and particularly in the UK( in fact they have a massive head quater in Readings now ). I am also considering relocating to the gulf region after my MSc if I get a good offer there........how do I get agents in the UK to help me on this regard?

Finally a senior colleague warned that I should think outside Telecommunications for MSc as the field is too narrow, he suggested instrumentation n control(because of oil n gas)which sounds weird to me as I have next to zero hands on experience in the area( I also heard one's hands experience must tally with his/her MSc to get a professional job in the UK). Whats your take on this........do u have any regret studyind Telecoms?
Leeds university rating is good, one of the best in west Yorkshire, the city is the most lively city in west Yorkshire with good transport system. Leeds has huge foreign students community because there are about 2 Universities and many colleges there.

Pay your fees through your bank, that is what many people do though you will be charged commission.

MakoStylish: That means even with the Statement and Covering Note/ leter head. Stating the amount I have obtained as a loan and how they wish to pay it wen I am there.
You are allowed to take a loan but in your case you are not getting this loan from a bank but from work-related loan organization. I'm not sure that the ECO will regard a letter from them like that of a bank

I will not advice you not to use it but i'm basically giving you my opinion.

You can read more about the use of loan here http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/Tier4migrantguidance.pdf

They Said they will Pay the Portions of My School fees in Instalmentally as I study in d University. I work in Hospital Management Board. Please I need a reply as soon as possible.
As always i will suggest that they pay that money into your account then its up to you and your agreement with your university on how to pay the fees, whether installmentally or in full.

abbakacici: thank you very much. I have another questions. First how much is exchange rate. Because I want to used oando currency converter thus 7200 pound is equal 11000 usd. Or I should put more a bit more then 11000 usd to be on the safer side. If I should like how much will be ok and my second question is if I deposit the money on 25th or 26th this month july 28 days will be on 23th august and I want to apply for visa like on 26th august. But my school resume on 24th september so should I ask for extention for the school or not
Why are you converting to $? You can add 100 pounds more just incase the exchange rate go up.

Why do you have to wait till 26th to apply for visa after 28days (23rd)? You are just wasting time you don't have.

Its always good to apply for extension
