Treadway: yen yen yen, everyone else makes claims, only you speak facts. Over 200 that followed your kin advice, that is their reality. Many that will follow it will still find it to be the reality. If you ain't a nurse or top tier in tech or finance and you're heading or have headed to the UK on study visa hustle, come back and shame this post, with a job tag other than care worker, or sales boy/girl. Cheers
What Pocohantas said as related to the bolded is true to a T, as seen in my circle too. I don't know where you get the 200 people figure from..i guess one of those made-up figures just to make a point. Your post is full of falsehoods and lack of understanding of how things work when it comes to relocating to any country not just the UK. Whether you are a nurse of 5-6 tier in tech you are likely to struggling for some years before finding your feet, it will even get harder when you are a student, but things will definitely change if you don't listen to fear mongers like you. Very few people land abroad and kick start things withing a year, many will do jobs outside their skill set until they get what they want. Some of these delays are immigration status related while some are lack of in-country experiences. Like i said before ..i read posts here and smh |

Treadway: to your first question, I won't call it struggle, I would say that is their current reality, and it is something I wouldn't want to be my reality. To your second question, don't know, don't care. Why should I? I'm in Nigeria, 'innit'? Exactly why i called it careless comment because nobody cares about facts anymore. Just random online post. I do hope that those planning to relocate will do the dd and not base their decision on these careless comments here |

Treadway: not a careless comment. She has friends who have left for the UK...as do I. Aside two, that got jobs from here, one as a Nurse and the other a radiologist, everyone else I know who has left for the UK on this study visa as dependant in over a year now are either working at the cash register, bagging products at a factory or doing care job. Her own na 80%, mine na cool 99%. They keep encouraging me, and I keep hesitating cos I just can't do that. And yes, they also hardly see or have time for one another..as one person dey close for one shift, the other dey resume him/her own. Majority of ppl are leaving, and they still communicate with us back home, so it isn't hard at all to see the patterns and know what's what. Everything Poco said is consistent with what my contacts there are expert to a T. And I'm talking about over 200 people. You have contacts of over 200 people who left Nigeria in the last 1yr and they are all struggling? Let me ignore my thought about that claim and ask you this? Do you know how many years it takes an average immigrant to settle in the UK? |

pocohantas: Lol. All this money to go do care jobs and barely see one another? I am very pro-japa, but this whole UK thing is beginning to look like an organised scam. Damm!! i read posts here and keep shaking my head at the level careless comment here. So its only care job are available to people relocating to the UK? Even in that care job do you know how many jobs that are available within that sector? People don't see one another? Some of the things people living abroad tell those in Nigeria is just away to avoid financial demand or other favours because if you paint a rosy picture the begging plate is out. Definitely not everyone relocating will succeed because of poor planning and over expectation. |

hustla: Did they give any warning in 2012?
And did it apply to everyone or those just coming in? It affected mostly those who are here already, unless people are given two years warning else it going to affect those at the beginning of their courses and those mid-way. In 2012 a year warning was given |

Unrelated: That is exactly the question I always ask moaners.
Recently someone was asking my advice on whether to move and was telling me all sorts of horror stories their relative had told them, to support the stance that UK is bad and Nigeria is better.
So I asked 'Oh does that your relative live in Lagos too now?'
No prizes for guessing the answer lol. In 2018 i travelled to Nigeria and a friend visited me, while we were chatting he asked if i have investments in Nigeria i said no and explained t issues i have with investing in Nigeria. This brother started telling me why its important to invest in Nigeria and not the UK and one of the many reasons he gave was that...one day the white man can decide to strip all foreigners of their citizenship and ask us to leave, no place like home, you are a king and lion bla bla bla Last year he contacted me asking for info about relocating to the UK as Nigeria situation is unbearable...i remembered to ask him about his comment few years ago but i held my peace. My point is..no place is heaven but where ever you found yourself make an effort to enjoy it else move... |

I have been working in a care home since I arrived here 6months ago on spousal visa. I studied mech engineering in Nigeria. Please what do I need to do to be able to work as an Engineer. I asked you before when you will be returning back to Nigeria considering your opinion about the UK. I know the answer to that question as i have come across a lot of people like you before They have nothing good to say about the UK but they will never leave, they blame everything on racism apart from themselves. Everything doesn't have to be linked to the colour of our skin, we need to know our short comings and work on it rather than always blaming someone else even when we failed because we are not good enough. |

Her kid play the roughest I’ve seen. One time the little boy had his lip almost cut off when he fell.Ambulance/police arrived and boy got admitted for a week and came back home.Mom swears at them and cussing their dad’s publicly.Infact she was delusional.
The Zimbabwe guy was a normal black guy, minding his business but the day one of the kids unfortunately rolled down the stairs, there where no physical injuries .He personally took the child to GP for checks That was the beginning of problems.2sec they involved safe guarding and police, the zim guy flared up,because he felt it wasn’t that serious.2sec they changed it to angry black man. Long story short ,they took his 2 kids and he had to battle for months to get em back. There is nothing in this story that justifies your claim that white hates blacks. If you hang around people with this mindset then you will struggle to survive in this country . No race is perfect, look for something positive in people and not always focus on negative and conspiracy theories. Are we blacks love and care for each other? Good luck |

Nobody will be happy to take out time to type their ppr then it gets deleted cos someone reports it as fake due to their feelings and unsatisfaction, cos one thing, one thing is missing.

Please let’s not derail this thread arguing about fake or no fake PPR, when you see one that looks fake just report it, don’t quote the post, I will sort it out.
And to those coming here to thank agents that helped you in private…I will remove your posts because that is considered as an ad.
If you contacted an agent privately and pay for his/her services then thank the agent privately too when you get your visa. Please don’t come to promote the agent .
Thank you |

rayralph: You clearly need to sit back and understand the subject matter before rushing to provide a response.
For instance, I have a poultry business in Nigeria. I can still manage it virtually from the UK (student visa)
Isn’t that self employed, how does it concern home office ?
Or if I sell my beat making skills to producers and artists in Nigeria.
The only thing here is to avoid offering service(s) to anyone in the UK
You cannot be self employed(run a business) IN the Uk No you need to understand this case from the beginning. Go back to read it because your analogy here is off point as it got nothing to do with freelancing |

you expect an individual to ditch his naija based consulting business because he’s holding a UK student visa ? This got nothing to do with your previous answer. And to your question… yes I expect the person to read the student visa rules before considering coming to the UK to study and if the rule says no self employment then it’s what it’s else consider other countries with favourable student visa rules. If you get caught working as self employed then your interpretation and excuses here hold no water. |
