rckm: I am in the process of joining the uk army.MY cousin in UK is willing to act as my point of contact but he is not able to fund or support me financially,on the other hand,my cousin who is here in nigeria is ready to sponsor my trip for the duration of six months.I have already received a declaration letter and passport copies from my UK cousin.Note that he is now a UK citizen.Currently I am not working but I used to work some 3 months ago before I lost my job and therefore I have no savings. All my siblings and parents are here and I staying with them,am 28 and still single.
I wish to submit my application to UKBA by 5th nov,2012 and I was given a deadline of 7th Dec,2012 by the UK army.Kindly advice me on the documents/proof that I need to submit to support my General visitors visa application in this case.Secondly, what are the chances of getting the visit Visa to UK.lastly, must my financial sponsor be in UK or is ok even if he is here in nigeria.

Thank you members.
eagerly waiting for your advice
rckm: I can assure you that the invitation letter is genuine.I applied through the MOD online application as a commonwealth citizen.Concerning the accommodation,I will be staying in a hostel since my UK cousin has a limited space in his house. My query is,will the UKBA accept the fact that my financial sponsor is a cousin living here in Kenya? HE is a businessman with a good bank statement plus business registration certificates.
Are you a Nigerian or a Kenyan?
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(mod): 8:39pm On Nov 01, 2012
rckm: Yes I have an official invitation letter from the UK army asking me to go to UK to complete my assessment. They told me that I am to meet all costs of travel, accomodation. To be precise,I am to fund myself. They advised me to apply for a visitors Visa even though they claimed to have no any other support they can give to the Visa office to process my application.
If you are sure that its genuine UK army ministry that is inviting you for recruitment training (Though i have my doubt) then present the invitation letter, prove of financial sponsorship from your cousin but your cousin has to give you paper evidences of his sources of income....payslip/bank statement. Tax clearance certificate (if he owns a business) etc.

If you are going to be accommodated by your cousin in the UK then he has to send you prove of adequate accommodation for you for the duration of your program in the UK.

dollypi: ‘Well-off’ university students who stole £175k of cash and handsets from 19 retail stores jailed
Alexander Okafor, Oludare Gbajabiamila and Michael Adu, University of Hertfordshire students rob phone stores

Members of a violent gang formed by university students, which went on a seven-month crime spree, robbing 19 mobile phone retail stores, have been jailed for more than
62 years.

The students, all from the University of Hertfordshire, stole cash and handsets worth more than £175,000 from Phones 4U, Carphone Warehouse (CPW), Orange and T-Mobile stores in London, Hertfordshire and Essex between March and September 2010.

The three ringleaders of the gang were Alexander Okafor, Oludare Gbajabiamila and Michael Adu, the last of whom is pictured tying up a member of staff during a robbery at a T-Mobile store in Lakeside Shopping Centre, Essex, in which two bin bags full of BlackBerry handsets were stolen.

USAMarshal: Hello nairalanders/ I like the advice being given here.

My brother wants to go to the UK for a conference on business development. He is actually not going for business. He is going for the conference. My question is what category of visa should he apply for. Business or tourist? He has about 800k in his account with a monthly income of 100k. What are his chances of getting a visa.

Business visa is what he needs, does he own a registered business, pay tax from his business earnings, invited by the conference organizers?
And nobody said all Igbo men should return to the East..
Simply relocate to safer states... Ibadan, Kwara, Ogun, Bayelsa, Edo e.t.c.. Even Zamfara sef.. But definitely not these states that have recorded bombing actions and senseless massacres..

Its like an Igbo man still living in Jos!!
Exactly!! move to a safe place first, be safe first before all these silly excuses....its difficult to move after 20yrs, i'm planning to move..bla bla bla, when they kill him then he will move from the grave
Politics › Re: Boko-Haram Wiped Out My Family - Widow by justwise(m):
tunnytox: Is he the only ibo man in the Bauch1? is their any pogrom against Ibos in Bauchi? Are there no Ibos left in Bauchi? at least some members of his family has already relocated and he was trying to make provision for them, planning for their welfare and his eventual return. If all ibos relocate to the east can the east contain them? Its so easy for you to come to internet to run your mouth but wait until you have some hungry mouths to feed without moneyy before you start to run your mouth. Its people like you that will encourage people to leave but when they get back to the east you'll turn them to object of ridicle.
Your f00lishness and lack of sensitivity is obvious so I won't waste any of my time replying you again, you and the likes of you can continue to wallow in ignorance and stupeedity.
No he is not the only Igbo man in Bauchi, he should wait until all Igbos in Bauchi are killed or moved before he does? Every Igbo man in Bauchi came from a family in the East, so your argument that if all Igbos goes back that the East will not contend them is just nonsense.

It doesn't take a prophet to know that its a life and death decision, you don't need to be persuaded, life is far more important than all the wealth he had acquired. You don't live in danger zone where people are being killed at random and still procrastinating, you take whatever you have and leave!!!, safe your life first before thinking about what to eat or where to live.

Your argument is just childish.

Fools likes you will put money first before lives of their family members, the man was planning/trying to move all his families to the east, he was still planning as remembers of his family were killed, he will still be planning until he is killed. Because he has lived in the North for 20yrs he found it difficult to move because of things he had accumulated there.

Northerners are not safe in the North let alone an Igbo man with business establishments

tunnytox: What a lame reply! provide logical steps of how you think the man should have moved to the east otherwise shut the fcck up because you're simply not making any sense.
Listen to yourself, silly cow, how many of his family need to die before he moved out? To empty skulls like you his properties are more important that the lives of his family members. Will he bring any of them back now?

Look dude you're not smart at all, sometimes you have to realise that not everyone have time like you to be dragging issues. It is not only stupeed but daft for anyone to be blaming this man, you do not know the whole story of this man, his personal circumstances but you believe you can sit down somewhere in the comfort if your own room to judge him, how daft could that be?
Tell me had the whole of ibo community now left Bauchi?
Why is he the only one who suffer this fate? And if the whole ibo community left Bauchi can the SE contain them?
Sometimes I wonder why you choose the name justwise because many if your statement usually proof otherwise.

I don't think its right for anybody here to tell you to marry him or not but the question is....is this the type of man you want? Are you happy to put up with his behavior if you got married?

If you are under age and he is the only break-winner in the family then you will stand a chance, but as an adult, educated to masters level, it will be difficult for you to argue your case for dependency.

My elder brother presently holds a british passport,so i was wondering is there any ukba visa type that covers me as his younger brother to obtain a 5year extention visa ?Im presently having my masters degree in the UK.

As regards to the family dependency visa conditions ,i suppose that is possible or maybe i am missing out something...If anyone has a clearer understanding of this stuff ,will be glad to hear your opinion.
Are you below the age of 16? Your mum and daddy still in Nigeria?

Open an account, get your salary paid directly into your bank account, you can't get any sort of visa with cash-in-hands financial situation because there is no way you can explain that to the embassy. If you want to go into business full time then register one, buy things and pay with your business invoice/letter head/business account etc.

At the moment your chances of you getting a visa is close to zero even as you have the money.

vanminister: living in ukraine as an african is equivalent to an american soldier/citizen walking in downtown Helmand province in Afghanistan without support

back up or a canister containing nuclear weapon.

Anywhere else is better than nigeria you think, wait till you get to Ukraine or Russia!

If not for the physical and spiritual bodyguards of Pastor Sunday Adelaja of God's Embassy church, one of the fastest growing church in Europe,

he would have been finished!

A plane ticket to ukraine or russia to study one lying course or the other is a ticket to the grave.

Even the mighty nigeria ambassador in ukraine will dare not venture out alone, anytime of the day!

You think that is life and living? Many africans have been sent to an early grave because of the bond girls, or should i say blonde girls of ukraine.

They boys of ukraine see it as a national insult for a monkey, so called to hold hands with their slavic citizen. Their expression says it all!

They will attack and UnCloth you. The police will say, cheers, we could have done it ourselves but as you can see we are on duty!

So if you are going there to look for fun, someone who was a victim from beyond told me to warn you with this letter!

But because some of you lots have cotton wool in your ears, all i would say right now is bye-bye au revoir safe journey!

That is a chilling line.

1. I read a post now from german embassy section and you said the transaction must up to six months
2. And the account must be in my name..please is there anyhow I can go about doing that because is the dividend by to me by my company that I want to use....Not that I did not have money for business...
Thanks
You have a perfect opportunity to build your paper work for visa application, don't rush into applying for visa without good preparation, don't be in a hurry to leave Nigeria and waste that money.

You have between now and next yr to build genuine paper work then apply.

Do you work? Own a business? Do you have bank accounts(savings and current)?
