kelorm: Thanks Justwise. Really appreciate your responseAll the best, communicate more with your fiance through emails and phone calls and keep the record of those communications because it will come handy when you want to apply for him. |
Morayo747: See this is why initially people without any sort of visas were marrying UE ctcizens because EU law allows everyone to get married without proper status arguing that its against human rights not to do so. UK tried to block that by saying ok if you want to get married to a british citizen then you need a certficate of approval. But now thats been cancelled.I'm saying that getting married is not the issue here but applying for a stay after marriage is where the problem comes in. If anybody can get married and get a stay then you wouldn't have illegal immigrants in the UK. |
kelorm: Hello justwIse. U are doing a very good job here and God will bless and protect u for helping people realize their dreams. I have read through on this topic and its really educating, I got all I needed to know about tier4 visa. I intend applying for a tier4 visa next month for Msc International Applied communication at university of central lancashire starting january 21st. I wanted to get married before doing that but there is no much time and my course is costing me so much. I would like my husband to join me later maybe may or june. My mum is sponsoring me. I wanted to transfer funds in my account so we apply together but I told my mum not to bother anymore. Please can I state in my application that I intend to come back during the holiday and get married to my fiancé in order for him to apply as my dependant considering the fact that am being sponsored by my mum. Am 26 years old I hope it doesn't matter and my course is 18 months. I have every other document intact and a good travel historyYou can if you want but its not really important but in application form don't select single, any option like engaged or fiance will be more appropriate. |
thelastPope: You have cornered yourself by your own question. The white votes were closely split between Obama and Romney. Obama clearly won by the huge upsurge in black and latino votes. If the whites went out in numbers to vote for Romney, he would have won by a landslide, clearly! You said that blacks voted for Obama because he is black and i asked how about whites that voted for Obama? |
Morayo747: Agreed. The application process will not be as straight forward as someone with say a student visa i.e they will need a lawyer. However, because of the rights to family life EU rules I guarantee you anyone now married to a UK or EU citizen will be successful in getting leave to remain regardless of their immigration status before. Not true, right to family life becomes a stronger weapon when kids are involved else you will be frustrated for yrs wasting money from one immigration lawyer to another, without appropriate visa the church or registry may refuse to wed you even. If anybody can marry and get a stay regardless of his or her immigration status then there will be few illegal immigrant in the UK, people can just land with visiting visa and arrange marriage, and get their papers. |
lekkynelson: Hello Justwise and VicJustice...†ђǝ UKBA just called ♏E̶̲̥̅ naw.....i never come about anybody here saying †ђǝ British embassy called them.....pls what does that meanThey do call people occasionally for interview, either by phone or in person. |
peter2010: Urgent response needed plz!!!You were refused a visa because the ECO did not believe that the money in your account is actually available to you, if you submitted payslip as you stated (though the refusal letter did not mention that) then the money in your bank statement did not marry your salary hence the doubt about your financial capability. The ECO also did not believe that the visit will be of any benefit to you considering your situation in Nigeria. |
thelastPope: Obama won the election with over 97% of black votes and over 75% of latino votes. He won the majority vote by just 2%. He won Ohio by about 50000 votes. CNN just showed that there were over 150, 000 new voters that registered in that state for this election and most of them were blacks. So do the maths. It was a ver divisive election. Many American see what the tea party are saying. They might not like their seemingly extreme style, but people no what they are saying. America is moving towards what we in Nigeria are trying to run away from and that is an overbloated federal government! My question to you is this...why did you think that the 'whites' did not come out in numbers to vote for Romney? Are there more blacks and latinos in those states Obama won than whites? |
thelastPope: Have you ever read what the Tea-party advocate? The tea-party started before Obama became the Democratic candidate. It was not about Obama. They believe in small government and freedom of corporations. No system is perfect though but please don't misrepresent them. These republicans many of you insult, fought for the end of slavery and racial segregation while the democrats didn't want it to stop. The democrats are just playing "handout to the masses" politics. And anyone who plays that is never ever sincere. Check your history books.Whatever the Tea Party stands for, its obvious that majority of Americans are not buying it, some of the candidates are fighting to make Obama a one-term president, one may ask this question...how come many Americans did not see what Tea Party is seeing? How come Obama was re-elected even with the state of the economy? Blacks and other ethnic minorities did not even make up to 50% of American population but still Obama won the election. |
thelastPope: Not at all. Many blacks have become more racist than the whites they accuse. In the last election, blacks voted for obama en masse because he is black, not because he is a good president. All the indicators showed clearly that Obama's last 4 years was a failure. But they went out there and voted based on color. But they are the first to call whites racist. Blacks have been republican for ages. They supported Obama because he is black. Just the same way hausas vote for hausas, Ibos vote for Ibos and yorubas vote for Yorubas. That argument could go both ways, many voted Romney because he is white, no group can be more racist than Tea-Party, i don't believe that Obama's last 4yrs was a failure, he made the best of the worst situation. If blacks voted for Obama because he is black how about whites who voted for him? |
STENACO: For inquiries for your study permit requiremtn you can call deleted. I dont want anyother person to pass through what I went through that is why I am giving out this number. Strictly on the issue of study permit. ThanksCall you for what? If you can't help openly here then forget it. |
Morayo747: Wrong. That rule has been overturned a long time ago. Anyone can now get married regardless of your immigration status as certficate of approval is no longer needed.Yes but marriage certificate only will not get a you a stay, when you send in your application for a stay then the issue of your status before you got married will resurface |
Donxavier: Ok. Will it be any easier if I was on a Tier 2(General) visa or it's still the same process since am the one sponsoring the trip, I mean her being able to prove strong ties to nigeria. How does a student prove strong ties?Being on Tier 2 will help the argument on your part but that is not the only issue, she still has to prove that she will go back if given a visa, being an adult student doesn't help this case, i'm not saying that students can't be given a visiting visa, they do in some rare occasions. If her family is sponsoring the trip and they are doing well in Nigeria then that could serve as a strong tie to Nigeria |
achi4u: Nigerians is even more civil than those white mo.nkeys.Is that coming from a civil mind? |
Honestly its simple. America only allows a certain amout of people from each region "in" regardless. Its all about the "status quo". They even admit ppl from countries they consider enemies to appear to be this utopia and "rainbow nation of all nations" blah blah. Nigerian stereotypes may make up some of the reasons why Nigerians are denied in such high numbers, sure. And as someone else said, they know its because many nigerians if admitted would then turn and try to bring more from back home to join them. America does not want that. Thats soo true, in fact Look at how bad they've gotten on mexicans despite sharing the same border and despite the fact that mexicans contribute the economy and depite the fact that they help build the nation (literally!). Mexicans are family oriented and nationalistic people so they believe in helping their kind achieve the "american dream" even if it means smuggling them in lol. Americans still believe america to be a white nation - a mini europe away from europe so they want to limit the amount of colored folks that enter. And even if you do qualify, you will have to shell out hundreds or thousands of dollars (depending on where you are from) JUST to become nationalized! Lol they know what, they are doing. But i dare someone to please check the amount of europeans (anglos/germanic especially) they accept each year.. i promise you will see a huge difference....in fact i guarantee it.
I have read and listen to people make cases against America and i do see where they are coming from but your point here does not hold water, how do you mean by..Americans does not want Nigerians to bring in more black if given a visa? The same America that allows thousands of Nigeria every year to move to America to live and work through visa lottery? The reason why Nigerians are having a tough time getting a visa is simple....Our Reputation Follows Us Everywhere!! even South Africa, an African country treats us as suspects. I laugh when i hear Nigerian complaining about other countries treating us badly, click on any thread here discussing about crime and see the level of hatred some people have for other Nigerian tribes. If you don't want to visit America fine, stay back, keep your money, America will not take you to court for not applying. |
There is no need to open separate thread for this, there are two different threads here dealing on US visa issues https://www.nairaland.com/608780/usa-visit-visa https://www.nairaland.com/994108/general-u.s.a-student-visa-enquiries-part3 |

Donxavier: hmmmn, not possible she is just a student. Even with a job you said 50/50.. Is it that hard? she's in school and would definitely return....what else do you suggest? what other way is around this strong ties issue? How can a student show strong ties to naija?Using school as a tie-to-Nigeria is not strong enough as an adult applicant and as a Nigerian, considering the fact that you are also a student and she is just a girlfriend, convincing the ECO that she is going to come back after her visit will be a tough job. I really don't see any other way to go around it considering her situation at the momement. |
smartmachine: Hello all, a brief question here. All the info you need about the UK student visa is here https://www.nairaland.com/826936/uk-student-visa-tier-4 |
Donxavier: Justwise/Vicjustice,If she got a good job in Nigeria that she can use as tie to Nigeria then its 50/50. |
Stephan87: Thank you but due new rules release in July 2012 can they refuse spouse visa any of reason?, I meant about breaching the rulesIf you are honest with any offense you might have committed then they will not refuse you a visa, but you lied about any offense or withhold the info then you will be refused. |
