Nekky5: If you ever know the pains of loosing a father figure in your life, you would not be talking of disowning your own father just because he couldn't go on to sponsor your post graduate studies. I was expecting to read where you complained of him not paying your school fees at all. Let me tell you the bitter truth, your father owes you nothing after your undergraduate education. You should be the one to take care of your parents afterwards because they have tried their best. Your post graduate Should be a part time course for you now since your father is a pension earner. How much is 200k? Can't the man at least enjoy his life before he joins his ancestors? Do you still want to frustrate him by all your demands instead of helping him? Pls sit back and stop all these agitations because you might not like where it would lead you later. Defer that admission or get a side job. Be a man for once and hustle like your mates not depending on that old man for your needs.s one do not have father's not to talk of one who did not find a master's program.life hard ooo!!! . You people should stop giving advice from an emotional point of view. Some parents are really really terrible. Trust me, it's better to be an orphan than to have some parents as parents. That aside, it's the duty of a parent to sponsor their children's education. His father owes him nothing? That's bullshit! Let's stop saying that statement! I know it's trending but it has been abused.
Parents should be supportive to their wards. His dad did him wrong by agreeing to sponsor him then making a u-turn midway. It's called betrayer! Besides, it's not the responsibility of a child to take care of their parents. It should be otherwise. I'm not saying don't care for your parents but it's not your responsibility unless they are too old to work or sick. |

Baba, withdraw!
You Dad did you strong thing, no doubt but forget it. You have a first degree, get something doing with that.
You can be as successful as you want without a second degree.
You don't need to disown him, it doesn't warrant that. Just give him some space. |

The Copa America has lost its relevance.
World cup would soon lose relevance if it becomes bi-annual.
If Messi wins this Ballon d'or, it will lose relevance. |

Don't even make the mistake of collecting her phone number directly from her, she'll ultimately believe sooner or later, you'd ask her out. The advice is, do nothing. |

Nothing is certain in life... just pray for someone you can find peace and understanding with... then be married. Graduate or not. For saying most graduates don't have sense, you are a fool! If you want to marry all the non graduates, it's your life. Let others make their own decisions. |

This is not true.
In my alma mater, the best graduating students for the past ten years have been male. For the fact that a few female graduated the best in their school or department wouldn't change the fact that male students are still doing better.

Your GOAT is finding life hard in the so called Farmer’s league.
It’s starting to look like Andy Gray was correct about the wet cold windy night in Stoke. If Messi is finding it hard in a farmer’s league, he would get eaten alive at the Britannia stadium. The guy no even get shame. He was just lucky to be a Barcelona player. It will be very funny if he doesn't get upto 20 league goals. |
Family › Re: Do You Know Some Men Are The Wife In Many Marriages by Karleb(m): 1:05pm On Nov 02, 2021 |
bukatyne: A. A man providing some bills and moving furniture once a while doesn't look like he is doing his best.
1. Why can't we compare financial duties to house chores? I really want to understand where you are coming from.
2. I would like you to list them for better understanding and prevention of assumptions
3i - iii. You want a woman who has a successful career (not just work), contribute to the finances and do most of the chores in the house. By the way, a woman can have a successful career and still not contribute financially in the home. I hear you that a lot of women do XYZ to 'make their marriages work.' I really hear you. I have heard of women who accept threesomes with their husbands' lovers and do anal sex. A number of women will do anything to make their marriage 'work'.
I guess my question is: Why would a high self-esteemed successful career woman marry a man who can only provide financial provision? What value is this man bringing to the table? I have not read anything valuable the man is bringing into the relationship.
Perhaps I am repeating this question because I do not dabble into unproductive and parasitic relationships. Hence a relationship between a high self-esteemed successful career woman and a man only bringing money to the table is very redundant to me.
How can a marriage thread especially as written by the OP not be men versus women? Should it be men vs goats or women vs tigers? Alright. |

Hathor5: It's your child's shit after all. I see why you are better suited to lift furniture but I don't see what qualifies a wife more to wash off shit. It's not like her nose is less sensitive. If she chooses to wash them, all well and good but I would support her if she decides to dispose them. I hate washing shits, the fact that it's my child's would not change that. |

Hathor5: Changing diapers = lifting furniture
The things one reads on NL I should ignore this. But... I typed washing napkins especially the ones full of shit. Lift (heavy) furniture is just an example of what I believe a man should never allow his woman to do. |
Family › Re: Do You Know Some Men Are The Wife In Many Marriages by Karleb(m): 8:27pm On Nov 01, 2021 |
bukatyne: Ok, let me do this in theory with you since you are not married.
I do not do internet based discussions
1. Why can't you equate washing plates to paying bills? Or better still: according to your model, what are the roles of men & women in marriage?
2. Ok, how often do you think you would lift heavy furniture or go out at night?
3. Interesting. So let me picture this: you expect your wife to work & earn so she can contribute to the finances (let's say 30% based on your post) and still be responsible for all the chores (especially recurring) in the house. She would probably work same hours you do, contribute say 30% to the running of the home and still do all the chores. (Why doesn't she make the balance 70% and kick you out of the picture Just looking at the best use case for resources).
4. You would wash much more napkins than move furniture (if the man can even do it alone).
Let me wait for your answer to my first question before I ask another one. When I made my contributions, I did from the point of view of a responsible man and woman doing their very best to make their marriage work. 1. We're talking house chores here, washing diapers is easily related to lifting heavy furniture for example. You can't equate household chores to financial duties. 2. That is just an example, there are many household duties that belongs to either gender. 3. Like I said, some chores are for men only. Fine, women do alot of household chores but it doesn't negate the fact that men still do chores. 3i. I don't expect a woman to work just for her to contribute, I want her to work because their is dignity in labour, I want her to make a career for herself and the idea of a woman sitting at home has never made sense to me. 3ii. A lot of women work and still do house chores successfully, because it's their responsibility to their family. The want their marriage to work. 3iii. If a woman thinks she doesn't need a man because she supports financially and still do chores, then marriage is not for her. 4. I don't Gerrit. I believe I have talked about this in the points above. Let us stop doing man vs woman abeg. |

Kobojunkie: You think yourself smart don't you, this after your initial statement "I believe no sensible lady would allow her husband wash napkin unless he insists".
I blame nairaland for being open to even those at your level of intelligence. Since you've decided to be suffering from self induced dyslexia, I will explain to you like a kid. No sensible woman would expect her husband to wash a baby's napkin because they are always full of shit and men hates washing shit generally, unless of course the man insists. Likewise, no sensible man would expect his wife to lift heavy furnitures because women generally hates it due to obvious reason, unless of course she insist and I expect a sensible man to say no to that anyways. |
