I vehemently hate the fact that children are encouraged to stay with abusive mothers just because she feed, house and cloth them.

I have an aunt who's child have told me specifically that he prays to never have a wife like his mother. This woman is an embodiment of crisis. I have stayed with her for just a month and I can tell you that I can never, ever go to her place again unless we have a family event.

It hurts me deeply that I castigate bad mothers online and offline but my grand aunt is a typical example one, you can't have a conversation with this woman without getting annoyed. I no longer pick her calls no matter the emergency.

The OPs mother is a bad mother. It's just too obvious from the narrative unless we want to deceive ourselves.

No need to imagine @bolded, it is 100% a possibility, and i won't be surprised if these happen in no distant time,because the Scenario that would enable all of these to happen is well and truly on the way. You just have to move with the time...we live in an extremely capitalist world now and the greatest "cash cow" is seemly appealing to these demographic i.e LGBTQ, feminist etc.

It is 100 percent possible for straight characters to become gay, male characters to become female but we all know it's 0 percent possible for gay character to become straight or female characters to become male.

Well you never know oppression until you are put in the shoes of under represented minorities. There are lots of queer characters from comics to other source materials that were straight washed but no one batted an eyelid because it didn't affect us. Anne Rice threw a fit when studios tried to straight wash her protagonist in her "vampire Chronicles" series, thankfully she's bought back the rights and she will be involved in the production of "interview with the vampire" series. Comicbook characters from Mystique to Stakar to Harley Quinn have been straight washed and no one said a thing but a minor representation and we get our wings in a bunch. I don't really care though if a character is queerwashed or straight washed because at the end of the day they are all fictional, do that to a non-fictional character and I will be pissed off

That aside, comic universe and movie universe are different, though very similar. A character can be any thing in comics but in movies, there is always room for adjustments.

My point is, it's doesn't make sense to change a character that we've always know as straight to gay all of a sudden, same way it's not fair to change a popular gay character to straight. Same thing goes for feminism.

Imagine if in the next Tomb Raider, Lara Croft becomes a man, or James Bond becomes gay, or Charlie's Angels become men, or Spider-Man's Aunty becomes an uncle.

There is always room for another character, another superhero. Make them gay or black or anything but don't touch the already established ones.

Anyways, queer characters haven't existed in media since the dawn, thus we are currently living in a phase where they're rapidly trying to catch up. Umm, only few DC fans knows this but there's a belief Wonder Woman is the first gay character in media (comics world).
Wonder Woman appeals to both the feminism movement and LGBTQ community. Also the hetero world.

The day WW becomes gay in movies is the day I will stop liking that character.

I have read about something like this before.

Here in Nairaland, toxic and negative people are given the opportunity to belch out curses, hatred and negativity.


In real life, most people are full of hate and toxicity which they hide under religious pretence.


But I have succeeded in giving them the opportunity to vomit some of the toxicity and hatred which will reduce the depression which those who hate have.


Everyone who hate has depression, according to some research.


Maybe, pouring out their hatred in Nairaland may reduce some of their depression.

Why do we even have this primary 2 argument?

1. Women's consumer products like body cream, weavon, making hair, fixing nails, makeup etc are generally more expensive than men's consumer products.

2. To avoid any guy using money to get to the girl.

This 2nd reason is the most important according to my mum. A girl that has enough money to take care of herself would not be easily influenced by guys who are trying to use money to get to her.
