Hathor5: I hope you will say the same thing when people pressure women to marry early because women also take care of their children and husband. Yes. I would. The only issue is some women might have issues securing a husband if they don't marry early. But I hate marriage pressure, either for man or for woman. |

The struggle of being a man is something you can choose how to go through.
It's why the idea of early marriage for an African man is ridiculous.
Imagine just entering adulthood and now you have to take care of other people because you are now a father. |

Gerrard59: Just saw your Leetcode dashboard. If you can increase the number to say 700 and have them spread across medium and hard, getting good jobs wouldn't be difficult. I don't know your discipline in school or work experience, but my friend here who graduated spent time learning and cracking leetcode every day and got four jobs. He even replied one that the salary should be increased, which they did. Then, he told them to increase it again, which they refused, and he declined the offer. He also declined a $3K equivalent per month offer and opted for a $5K equivalent offer where he is a senior engineer and one of the three black guys at the company.
One Japanese, this guy does not know. He has spent more time here than me, but I speak, listen and read the language better than he does.
Crack the Leetcode very well. Best wishes! Thanks man! |

UjuJoan2: Oh yes blame the women, punish them for the have committed an abomination?? That's how you want them to reason before they are just?
In that culture children are a gift and can never to rejected. They are treasured by the family they were born into, and will always be loved. They will a father irrespective of if their mother is married. You cannot come from nowhere to claim a child just because you donated sperm. It doesn't work thag way!! Okay o. |

MT: I doubt this.
Otherwise he would have killed her in Nigeria.
Dude possibly gets frustrated and enters into depression. He starts to suspect his wife.
Most men suspect their wives once they are broke. It might interest you to know that some women get killed by their husband in Nigeria too. |

MT: This is what extreme frustration can do.
A trained Engineer doing a security work in the cold, he will definitely gets frustrated.
The wife might even be taunting him for not bringing enough to settle their bills, which will aggravate his frustration.
I assume he was earning good money in Nigeria as a trained engineer before moving to the UK.
This is one of the dark side of relocation which people do not pay attention to.
If you are in the middle class in Nigeria and earning averagely good money, think twice before you relocate. You can only relocate if you are legitimately getting married to your spouse who is a legal resident or you have a job which pays better as a middle class over there.
The grass is not always greener at the other side. Or maybe he is just a horrible human being with murder tendencies. |

dacool1: Don't let anyone decieve you into court cases regards child custody. If it's Lagos state you won't win. But the only thing you can do is to fight for visitation rights.
NO court in Lagos will give you custody after 7 years. The mother will have custody of the child till he is 18years old.
Be ready to pay child support up to 25% of your income. Best thing is let them be and just be calm not desperate everything will work well later. I really don't get when men gets scared of child support. Is the child not yours? Na wa o. |

UjuJoan2: Impregnating someone doesn’t make you a father, else all sperm donors can lay claims to their offspring’s.
The culture was set up to protect women from being abandoned in pregnancy and it has worked for them. You have no right to judge people and their beliefs and culture! So now that he wants to father his son, why stop him? If it has been working then why is this dude not paying the lady's bride price? The correct tradition would be to ostracize women who gets pregnant out of wedlock, don't you see how it hurts the child more than the lady that willing had sex with a man that isn't her husband? The culture is wrong and archaic, it should be abandoned. I have every right to judge what is wrong, whether it's your culture or not, that one no consign me. |

Oracleee: If I'm the dude or his lawyer, it makes it interesting and easy. I will jail the lady and every member of her family who knows how the child travelled abroad. As a fact, even the man who received him abroad will get burnt as I will officially petition the country and brand him a kidnapper and child trafficker. They will tell me who signed the right for the boy to be taking abroad and if paper works are shown, it's forgery which is another case on its own.
If only you guys knows the law ehnnnn.
I once witness a case like that. Man and woman never got married, aunty took the child and travelled to UK with man getting to know. Omoh man go police station report for Juvenile welfare centre (JWC). They invited aunty family members back and forth they wanted writing the embassy and matter was suppose to go to court. Aunty abroad was first forming one kind, when they turned up the heat she realized she might loose everything and even get repatriated her family just start dey beg man. Table turn man say e must see him pikin before anything. See begging o even case never even reach court na police station jwc but I suppose the lady got legal advise early. 3 month after aunty had to come home with the child and she was even bailed as she took the child to the station as directed by JWC OC. One woman DSP. Las Las na beg for guy to drop case. I think after a while bro calm down and they reached an agreement on the child rearing. Bros ehn! We have very uninformed people here o. It's like majority are typing from the remote part of their villages. They are saying it as if the guy raped her. Imagine having to rear a child alone when you can do it with his father because of one tradition that was made by probably an uneducated folk many years ago. Always funny when I see people ready to do anything for part of their culture that puts them in bondage. |

UjuJoan2: Is your name on the birth certificate as the father?
In that part of the world, if you don’t pay dowry you cannot lay claims on any child. The child born out of wedlock belongs to the girl’s family and will bear her father’s name.
If you want your son, marry her. If you don’t want to marry her then let go of the child. It's a wrong tradition. The child belongs to both parents. Did the family impregnate their daughter? Not court will grant him the sole custody of the boy, unless under certain circumstances, but he doesn't have to marry the lady to be involved in his son's life. There is culture and their is law. Law is above cultret. |

pansophist: All the Western zombies on this forum, either paid or ignorant, or stupid, or all of the above. You see what your beloved US is doing to your country?
Meanwhile, Russia is giving you free grains, is not imposing anything on you, doesn't interfere in your internal affairs, have never enslaved and colonised your ancestors, and the people you see in the street of Nigeria are the Chinese building stuff.
What Nigeria owes China is so small, but it's evident by the infrastructures they are building.
But we borrowed more from the west, but can someone point anything built with that money? I don't even want to mention the interest that takes most of our forex.
But somehow, Russia and china is your enemy. It's very costly to be daft. You go suffer. US have a way of going against anything good that doesn't belong to them or their friends. They have had nothing good to say about El Salvador for example, they keep criticizing Bukele's method of dealing with criminals in his country, which has worked well for him by the way. Thank God say that bros dey vocal and he speaks and understands English. Sometimes I just look at them and wonder which kain wahala be this. |

Gerrard59: The true taste of marriage is after its first five years. Men should marry those who like genuinely like them and their immediate families. If I was the man in question, I would keep a grudge. We men have a way to dating and marrying women who don't love us. In fact, anytime these miscreants push for such to happen, I would write to the British embassy in Nigeria and the British Council to disregard such a plea.
