I was legitimately upset, and planned taking it up, but decided to let go. I paid for your service again but this time what happened? Victor told me that your entire consignment was flown to Enugu, instead of Lagos! I reminded him I paid for express, and should not in any way be made to go to Alaba. At the end what happened, Ifeanyi asked me to come to Alaba! I had to drive all the way to Alaba. No apology, no refund of the express payment. That was it!

There are many other misgivings, but I would not want to go into those. You have apologised (as I choose to see it) so, life goes on.

You will fry your fingers. What I do is wait for the news to take full effect before going in. It is sweetest if it pushes the price against the main trend. That way, you will see 200 pips begging to be collected.

I spent good part of yesterday looking for dino 5w 30 for my car in major fuel stations without luck. All the weights were between 40 and 70. It was frustrating, with the sellers telling me it does not matter! I was willing to get synt as long as the weight is correct. When I had almost given up, I found Fastron gold full synt 5w 30. You can imagine my relief!! If you find your recommended weight in dino, use it, unless your manufacturer specified synt. Not my opinion, but fact. Also look at the API spec.

I have been trying to determine if the pressure pipe on my 2GR FE engine has been replaced with the recommended grade according to the recall bulletin. (The replacement pipe should have a yellow strip). My finding is that its most likely this pipe is still what the engine runs on. By physical inspection, this pipe does not look fatiqued, but research shows the catastrophic engine failure that follows should it burst.

Is there anyone who knows who can reliably determine this, and effect a change if necessary? I am in Lagos.

Well done peeps. Caution peeps! No trend continues for ever. Beware of recency bias. A retracement of up to 200 pips is possible across many pairs. You may get stopped out a couple of times, then you lose your cool and go headlong with the market. We know who usually comes atop. The market!

Some cars turn off their compressor at extremely low RPMs. That could be your case.

For P0351, this is what Toyota's repair manual says:

Trouble Area (in descending order):
1. Ignition system
2. Open or short in IGFI or IGT circuit (1 to 6) between ignition coil with igniter and ECM
3. No. 1 to no. 6 ignition coils with igniters
4. ECM

NOTE: Since yours is a 4 banger, replace all "6" with "4". But for this error though, the MIL (CEL) must be set. I dont know why your case is different.

It is the 4wd that they have. 4wd does not make any differency in floods, strictly speaking. If you have to drive through flooded smooth terrains, what do you need the 4wd for? Why would you always carry extra luggage and maintenance cost that you may never need? In my opinion, I think the OP just needs a car with high ground clearance. But, if your area is uneven and muddy, you will need the 4wd!

I have discovered something. P0420 is very generic, and include some different possible fault areas from different scanners. I would prefer to consult my vehicle repair manual, which is more direct. Yes, they all interpret it as 'Catalyst operating efficiency below threshold . bank1", but the details vary.

The scanner gave details: Mechanical condition of engine. Faulty wiring and connection. Faulty exygen sensors.

My repair manual details in order of probability: 1. Front exhaust pipe (with three-way catalytic converter) 2. Gas leakage from exhaust system 3. A/F sensor (bank 1 sensor 1) 4.HO2 sensor (bank 1 sensor 2).

You will agree the repair manual is much more helpful with interpretation.

I guess you are better off with a permit. Did mine with 15k, through a nairalander.

You want styling or reliability? Well, its your call. Where did you see a 2008 Rav4 for 2.5 - 3M? Well, a base trim could go for that, but it wont be clean. I talk from experience.

Honda Civic/city/accord 19** - 2005 are also vulnerable to to keys BOTH key and remote.
Most Cars on importing they have the sensor of the car inside the car. Best is change your Remote key.

saintjoel: it's a bloody and ridiculous lie,ive been doing business in cotonou for years and I've never seen a car with rolled back mileage unless a Nigerian is involved,in a place where more than half of the cars have their mileages pasted on the windshields.
What will you say about 99 cars in lagos with 75k mileage,if you've had a bad experience in cotonou,let's know but please don't generalize everything.
This is a simple way of calculating mileages when next you're about to buy a car.
For cars,use 15,000k mileage per year and use 25,000k per year for jeeps.
If you're buying a car manufactured in 1999,all you need to do is subtract 1999 from 2014,you'll get 15,now multiply 15 by 15,000k mileage per year,it will give you 225,000 mileage and that will give you a fair idea of the mileage.

I spent some time in Cotonou recently search for vehicles with strict specs, and what I saw was shocking! Most of the cars there do not have their odometer reading pasted. Those who do don't paste the actual. What is pasted is what the vehicle has at the moment. I started suspecting after I discovered the service record of one of the vehicles in the glove compartment. As at the last service, the odometer reading was higher by 35,000 miles, than what the car was having. With that, we went back to the Lebanese, and for a few seconds, had no defence. Then he explained that the record we saw was in KM, while the car is calibrated Miles! Can you believe that?! KM recorded is US?

At another stand, while haggling price, the white man, in trying to prove his car came from USA (we were suspecting it came from Canada) brought out the shipping papers. Lo and behold, that one too, was rolled back! When he discovered his blunder, he became aggressive and told us his price was fixed. It was take it or leave it! He was trying to prove his car was manufactured in Canada, but used in and shipped from US. We all know the issue with Canadian cars - rust!

From then, we would always ask for the title certificate, which would always have the info we needed. To my rude shock, and dismay of our agent, none was clean! Some 'smart' ones will tell you it was still with the shipping agent. I have got cars from Cotonou before, but its a different story now. One of the cars we bought was brought in eventually with the title certificate, and we discovered that the odometer was rolled back! We were very exhausted by the time we saw the car so, guards were down.

Nigerians roll back odometers, but the Lebanese have caught up. If you say we thought them, you may not be wrong. I saw a Nigerian dealer asking his friend in Igbo 'kedu onye odometer ahu?' - Where is that odometer man? If out of about 11 cars checked, only one was clean, what is the statistics? I must say though, that the cars checked were seven years and older.

My message is if you are going to Cotonou, thinking you are buying a car as is, think again!!! Users and agents beware. Always look or ask for service record and/or title certificate. Peace!

If you want to test for load handling, put them on idle. You will notice very little on highway.
