If this is correct, then it's not the torque converter lockup. The engine should only die when the car comes to a stop. The way it works is that the TC acts like a (wet) clutch between the engine and the gear. At lockup, the TC mechanically locks the engine and the gear, just like a manual gear will do without the driver operating the clutch.

Don't you have good mechanics where you stay?

But since you scanner points to range sensor, your mechanic should know what to do. But RS killing engine in gear sounds kinda strange though.

I have a kia cerato, This morning when I wanted to go to work... I started the car then put it on reverse. The car shakes as if it's struggling to move then goes off. It starts well but goes anytime I put it in drive or reverse it moves within 5 secs then goes off. My mechanic seems to be confuse about the problem.

Very likely your torque converter lockup is stuck on.

Push the car to a forward slope. Start the car in neutral and let it start moving under gravity before engaging drive. If the engine doesn't die afterwards, it's the torque converter. A double confirmation is if the engine also dies after you bring the car to a full stop while still in drive.

In fastboot mode, hold power button and volume up to see if it can get you to recovery mode.

This procedure only switches it off. It never goes to recovery; prefers to go to PC mode instead. Thanks

Tried power+volume up and power+volume down combo.

First one sends it to PC mode, where Xiaomi's PC Suite demonstrates its uselessness. The second sends it to FASTBOOT, which doesn't do anything...

First of all, the major issue with this outbreak bothers on its contagion. Currently, its estimated that every 1 person who is infected infects two to three people. This is made more complicated with emerging facts that people become contagious before showing symptoms. These majorly(highlighting the difficulty to contain the virus) are the reasons governments around the world are taking drastic measures.

The measures taken by several governments around the world to guard against the outbreak or further spread of COVID-19 within their borders (which are not excessive in my opinion, compared with battling a full blown outbreak like China is and recently some other countries (South Korea, Italy, Iran) are doing) are the real drivers of negative impact on the global economy.

And should the outbreak get into pandemic proportions, it will get worse. The best news, in that instance in particular, naturally speaking, would be either or both of invention/discovery of a cure or vaccine.
