Be very careful when buying from Cotonou. Agents, this goes to you too!
AutosRe: Cotonou Car Import - Not As They Say! by Kashif(op): 12:00am On Jul 20, 2014
I need to also add that conservatively speaking, 90% of cars sold in Cotonou have their odometer tampered with. Very sickening!!!

Car TalkRe: Should I Go For High Profile Tyres Any Advantage? by Kashif(m): 8:38am On Jul 11, 2014
jerk: I bought a tokunbo peugeot 307 and it came wt factory 205/50 r16 tyre and i noticed that the movement of the vehicle is nt as smooth as my old golf mk3 wt 185/70 r14 tyre.It doesn't absorb pot holes even the little ones and my shocks are okay confirmed by d mechanic.
My question is that should i migrate to higher profile tyres and reduce the rim size to 15, does high profile tyres makes the vehicle more smooth in driving expecially against bumps and pot holes.?
Check your tyre pressure, its probably over-inflated. Changing your tyre size while over-inflating them makes no difference. I am personally uncomfortable with tyres with high side walls.

Car TalkRe: Why Do People Prefer Toyota To Hyundai? by Kashif(m): 3:00pm On Jul 10, 2014
Toyotas are built to last much more than Hyundais. They are a little over-priced, yes, but you have much less failures. The price of 2007 Rav4 full option will get you a Kia Sorento 2011 fully loaded. But when the parts start falling off, and electricals malfunction, you will understand. A colleague drives a brand new ix35, and after four years, he has the phone number of most of Hyundai techs at Gbagada.

I have taken time to personally compare Toyota to many other brands that are 15 years or more. My finding is that they are more durable, compared to other Japs/Koreans. Older European cars (15 to 20 years hold together), but newer ones send their owners to the mechanic workshop more often. Compare engine, transmission, AC, body work/paint, finishing, etc. The 'brand new' in Nigeria are even worse!

Are Toyotas bland? Oh yes! But, I have seen more Bleep to Toyota switches by users than the other way. The resale value is also higher than any other brand. A friend has been trying to sell his Isuzu for months, and nobody has even priced it. angry

kolaaderin: its all hyping. there is nothing absolutely different in Toyotas, it just that they are built sooo empty and simple with lesser modern electrical and mechanical technology that those retard Nigerian mechanics and rewire can play kindergarten with at the expense of Good innovative technology u can find in other cars when it comes to engine performance and gadgets. and mind u most cars this days have better fuel economy.
Toyota does not use the very latest technological innovation, because it has not been tested and proven. They wait out the teething period, and that works for me too.

Car TalkRe: The Reason I Got A Toyota by Kashif(m): 1:03pm On Jul 07, 2014
ruggish10: I hear Toyotas hv uncommon fuel consumption efficiency, that is the reason i got a toyota...but to my greatest surprise my hyundai seems to conserve more fuel than the toyota for the same journey.
I hv changed out the fuel injectors and replaced with new ones but this didnt solve the problem....anybody with suggestions can advise.
What Hyundai, and what Toyota are you comparing? Do they have the same engine capacity, weight, etc?

You can't compare an Accent to Avalon you know undecided
AutosCotonou Car Import - Not As They Say! by Kashif(op): 6:04pm On Jul 04, 2014
Just as the topic goes, 90% of these Cotonou agents here either do not know how much it would cost to land vehicles in Nigeria, or simply want to lure you there, and bring on the actual cost when you have committed. I am telling you from experience. Don't believe what they say. Go there yourself and make up your mind. You may see a difference of up to 350k from what you are told.

From the boarder, Cotonou taxi will collect N2,500 from you (the N500 is for boarder settlement).

Thread very carefully. There are many rude shocks out there! Be careful!

I guess you drive Mercedes Scania bus as a private car? LOL! 'Bigger' is subjective. There is nothing like 'manning' up with a boxy vehicle.

The world's most expensive automobiles hardly seat more than four people so, what are we talking about?

Since the Pilot has this potential issue, why is it the best deal? I personally feel the Highlander is the ugliest mid size SUV around though. But stuck between looks and reliability? It is the latter!
Car TalkRe: Toyota Matrix And T. Corolla 2004 Model, which Is A Better Ride? by Kashif(m): 6:27am On Jul 04, 2014
When it boils down to emotion and appeal when buying a car, the only one whose opinion matters is the one paying for, and gonna use the car! What is feminine about Matrix? Have you not seen women driving full range SUVs?? Don't you see women driving MPVs?

There is no feminine car bro! If you are buying to please your colleagues then, you have missed it.

Ok here we go with the picture. My mechanic bought it so, I guess yours should be able to do same. You can check automobile consumable store yourself.

It may look big in the picture, but it is actually 0.5 litre can. You will need about three. Good luck!

Car TalkRe: Help, My Camry 96 Brake Malfuction!!! by Kashif(m): 9:32am On Jul 03, 2014
Regarding your brake issue, flush the brake fluid. Use Ate fluid. It comes in square blue short containers. The fluid itself is blue. I experienced most of what you are currently experiencing.

Car TalkRe: Leaking Sun Roof by Kashif(m): 2:22pm On Jun 30, 2014
You can do it yourself. Open the sunroof and locate the drains on the front flanks of the water tray. Make sure it is clear (I use broom stick). These drain pipes pass through the fron roof bars. When clear, water poured into that tray will find itself around the front door hinges.

Hope this helps.

Chrisvicmall: There is no "Kashif" in our record. Why don't you tell us your username so that we can understand why you are so bitter towards Chrisvicmall.
What difference will it make? You had your chance! It is too late for a respite now. You may do well to look after whatever is left of your dream. The last time I spoke with Elena about my delayed delivery, she said she would investigate and call me. I reminded her about all her previous failed promises. What was her response? "I will give you one year free shipping if I don't call". Did she call? Hell no! Poor soul!

I am really mad at CVM. What a mirage!

I can see you guys are in need of more cash, because you have 'diversified' into lottery. Why not concentrate on logistics? Very funny set of people. I now feel pity for you....
AdvertsRe: Chrisvicmall Customer Service (Pay Your Supplier Within 24 to 72 working hours) by Kashif(m): 7:56am On Dec 22, 2013
Chrisvicmall: When people complain about low communication from China office, we are not denying it. We understanding the reasons and there will be improvement with time i.e within next year.
In order to avoid being frustrated,
1.) Whether you are purchasing by yourself or not, place the order on time(3-7 days before each friday) so that you are sure that your product will be in our office before shipping day.
2.) If you are purchasing by yourself, always keep in touch with the supplier and make sure that you collect the tracking number and shipping company they use.
3.) For order inquiry, e.g "Whether your product has been purchased", "While we haven't purchase your product", "If your product has reach our office", do not call Victor. Victor doesn't process orders and he still has to get in touch with Elena before he can give you feedback. Call Elena directly. Also when calling Elena for product inquiry, call between 10:00a.m-11:00a.m Nigeria time. If you call before or after that time, she might not be able to give you feedback because it is not office time.
4.) To make sure that your account is credited on time, do not use email to notify us when you make payment, rather us the payment notification form on chrisvicmall.com/payment-notification Your account will be credited within 1-24hours
Here they go again! We know all those modalities. Your sins start counting after you have received all goods and have started processing! That is when the heart ache starts. If Victor knows nothing about orders, then delete his number from your website and stop misleading people!

I had told heavy importers about you and they were about opening accounts. I have gone back to apologise to them for making a bad referral. You guys are simply incredible!

bizmania: @Chrisvic good day. I know business has been very rough with you these days and you have made it rougher to us customers.

I would like you to kindly bury the pride and share with us what your problem is. Maybe we can help, probably not financially but with tactical solutions to your problems.

Honestly I sense an internal crisis in the company, which 'Victor'- the supposed entrepreneur has been unavoidably too 'weak' -either in mind or flesh to handle. It's overwhelming you and you can't deny it.

I may be wrong but that will be if you convince me that 'Chrisvicmall Logistics Intl' is a part-time job and not your regular job.....meaning you engage in a more profitable venture and consider Chrisvicmall an 'extra' source of income, hence the lackadaisical attitude towards customers.

No doubts you need more hands in this business. From observations, it's only three people.....'Victor, Elena and Ifeanyi' that run an entire company. I believe that whoever updates the nairaland thread is also one of you though, done anonymously.

Please employ people in the customer service department. Put someone in charge of issues and feedbacks on your website. Another person contols nairaland issues. Another person takes over your twitter handle and someone manages the facebook page and the most important......EMAIL department. Get a reliable hand. Companies are seeking to use these media to reach out to prospective clients and here, the little ones you have seen are leaving you. #too bad!

At least if you cannot solve a customer's problem, call him, send him five naira sms or mail him......which is even free. Please. This will make one to feel he's not being snubbed. It gives an assurance of hope even when you know there is no hope for that customer.

I sent you a mail and you didn't reply after 48 hours. I resent the mail and you failed to reply after another 48 hours. I called 'Victor' (timely) and he couldn't pick the call. He couldn't even call back.... I whasapp him, all to no avail. I whatsapp Elena, all to no avail. This is the 8th day and my issue hasnt been attended to at all at all.

Chrisvic pls tell us how we can help you and don't tell us to wait till next year before you consider delivering early and timely responses. The right time is NOW.

Goodluck....pls attend to my case. Thanks
We share the same thoughts. They run CVM like a low priority part-time job. I loved this company. I had given Ifeanyi my phone once so he could contact a customer at the airport. I had emailed them on little ways to improve their services. But, the two deadly blows they dealt me were not what I can stomach. I have lost money, no thanks to CVM. They goof big time and come back with lame apologies.

I am not sure what Victor does for CVM apart from occasional account crediting. They need to improve drastically, quit or sell the company.

@modulus, my anger is very legitimate. So many things are wrong with CVM!
Car TalkRe: Different Sizes On All My 3 Tyres! Currently Cash Strapped! What To Do? by Kashif(m): 8:48pm On Dec 21, 2013
Siena: You'll need to be clearer in your query, bro. If you read your post again, you'll find you're getting your dimensions mixed up.

Width is NOT diameter.
I know width is not diameter, I used it for a layman's clarity. To drive my variable home, maybe I should use 'circumference'. Keeping the tyre width and circumference constant, would economy be affected by installing wider rim? (assuming rim weight is negligible). Of course the side wall will be shorter.
AdvertsRe: Chrisvicmall Customer Service (Pay Your Supplier Within 24 to 72 working hours) by Kashif(m): 8:36pm On Dec 21, 2013
CVM is an incredibly lousy organisation! I have never heard of any entrepreneur, dead or alive who has survived in business with the way Victor is going. He knows nothing about orders but will fill in correspondence. He is just a failed trader trying to make ends meet. His business module smacks of utmost shallow mindedness.

He does not pick calls; only returns 5% of the calls! Once, I have had to ask him if his phone was mobile and to my chargrin, he said 'yes'! His sense of business management is very pathetic. Somebody should teach him 80/20 rule! 80% of your customers are complaining of the same thing (20% of your failure) and you are dumb to ignore it? Indeed, they are doomed!

Elena was better but now, her lackluster attitude is almost at par with Victor's. She would leave chat room, not respond to emails, not return calls, not credit account, not reply text messages. It also appears her diction has taken a nose dive lately.

Ifeanyi is a chronic time waster that only Victor can control. They are all siblings from different mothers, assembled to frustrate people!

For your sanity, stay away from CVM, they are not worth a penny! A formidable competitor should be in the pipeline, and I would love to see them shoved aside!
Car TalkRe: Different Sizes On All My 3 Tyres! Currently Cash Strapped! What To Do? by Kashif(m): 7:53pm On Dec 21, 2013
Siena is getting me a little confused. If you install a tire with wider rim (diameter), shorter walls, same width and achieve same installed diameter, does it affect economy? I was thinking the torque is transferred to the overall assembly, not just the rims.
AdvertsRe: Chrisvicmall Customer Service (Pay Your Supplier Within 24 to 72 working hours) by Kashif(m): 1:32pm On Dec 12, 2013
CVM remains the most pathetic organisation I have ever had to deal with. English language fail me with words to describe the disgust I feel about them! Lame excuses, dumb 'solutions', and a sub zero customer service!

You pay for express delivery, and after two weeks you hear that cargo plane went somewhere else. Later you are told to go to Alaba to pick your stuff, or pay fine after 48 hours. Are they not crazy? Who will pay for the troubles of going to Alaba? You pay for express because you do not want to go to that remote area, and they are morally banktrupt enough to forget the terms of the contract?

Nobody replies to emails, Victor stays away from his phone, Elena makes unkept promises. These guys are so unprofessional! If you don't know how to run a business, don't dabble into it. You call a supposed CEO 6 times at 13.00 hrs his local time and he does not deem it fit to pick or call back? I give up!
