More or less... mostly yes. The only plot the show is yet to catch up on are the events in the Iron Islands... and I suspect the show is cutting that out entirely. On every other thing, the show has either caught up, or diverged entirely.

All we book-lovers have now are speculations, and trust me, we've had YEARS to speculate.

They will most likely survive. There is enough snow to break their fall without significant damage. Enough Stark's have died already.

If you jump from high up enough, landing on any amount of snow is as good (or bad) as landing on a cement floor. And they did jump from really up high...

I really hope they survive - Sansa at least - but D'&'D are such sticklers for real life.

I like that music they play when Jiraiya strikes his pose. I think Pein's attack finale on Konoha was the definition of awesomeness. And I liked the way Naruto used to shout Henge!! back in the early seasons... but I wouldn't dream weaving the signs. Sorry, there's a limit.

Ok haven seen the season finale of TV series I think it's necessary that GRRM release the next books before season 6 is aired.

So we are now looking forward to the red witch and R'hllor to do their thing and bring everyone's favorite character back to life.

In a weird and masochistic way, I actually wish Jon stays dead. Would love to see how GRRM steers that storyline to something satisfactory.

But... seeing how they contrived to ensure that Melisandre rode back into Castle Black in the show, I guess Mr. Pretty Face will be singing a welcome back song one way or another.

Its just that, I've come to have a healthy respect for this show's producers... I feel like something is in store to explain Ghost's absence. Sadly we'll wait another year to find out.

Just see it as a fantasy version of real life - and real life never makes sense. Good people die a lot, bad people die a few times but generally they stay alive a lot longer. All in all nothing really makes sense... and its all the same to the Many-Faced god.

It wasn't Lena Headey doing the full body shots. CGI ish, like they did with Furious 7.

I had my doubts when I was watching it - her head seemed a wee-bit too stiff in the full body shots.. Just did a search now and it appears I was right - head and shoulder shots were her, full body shots were a body double with her face/head CGI'ed on.

I learnt since Season 2 that the producers of this show RESPECT reality. Now what I want to say next is based off the books, but humor me... You see, Stannis probably wins that battle in the books, no one is really sure yet - forget whatever conclusions Gbola5/LeytonStark has been drawing here. BUT I have long learnt that this show's producers respect reality. Why were you so sure Stannis would win??

His forces were not Northmen, badly unsuited to such cold, half-depleted AND starving AND dying, then add that horror of seeing their own commander burn his own daughter. Can you imagine what a morale-killer that is? Meanwhile the Boltons supped and slumbered in comfort. As for me, I just kept my fingers crossed - and when ep10 showed even MORE of his men deserted AND his wife hanged herself, I knew King Stannis, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and the Rhoynar, First of His Name, blah blah blah, was a finished man.

As far as the children are happy ... I can't mock them. I never celebrated my birthday as a child. I had to remind my father each year that its my birthday. Then each year he will tell me "we will celebrate next year.

Now things have turn around.... He is now the person complaining that no one calls him on this birthday.

Last year, he clocked 80 and expected us to come home and celebrate with him. OYO!!

I am presently downloading the season 5 finale... so I am steadfastly avoiding the TV show thread.

So far though, season 5 was satisfying. Of course, as book reader I more or less knew what to expect, so I wasn't as disappointed as the average show watcher. Yes, not as spell-binding as season 1, or exciting as seasons 2 and 3, but season 5 certainly has its pointers - House Lannister is finally broken, the Dornish are stirring, Tyrion has joined forces with the last Targaryen, Dany has finally mounted the dragon, and Winter has finally arrived.

Will come back when I've watched the finale.

It is particularly funny that the only thing I'd previously known of Harcourt-White is that it is one of the names mentioned in Duncan Mighty's popular hit "Port Harcourt First Son"... and I don't even like Duncan Mighty.

I'm not aware that such a thread exists. But as its name says - the front page - its contents are the very first thing that a visitor sees/reads as soon as he opens NL. So one would expect to see the most important, thought-provoking and informative threads (such as this one) there, especially as concerns Nigerians. Of course we know entertainment pulls a lot of traffic, but it shouldn't be at the expense of real substance.

@bigass, with respect to your your statement above, can you please tell us were this law is written? There have been Nigerian policemen fired in the past based solely on videos taken by civilians of them taking or demanding bribes, and none of the owners of the videos were ever procecuted by the police force for "breaking the law".

It has indeed been mentioned in the show but you probably missed, not being a book-reader and all...
Azor Ahai was a warrior said to have fought the forces of the cold darkness during the Long Night thousands of years ago. A prophecy from the religion of the Lord of Light says he will return again whenever the cold dark gathers again. Melisandre proclaimed Stannis as Azor Ahai Reborn when she pulled that his flaming sword out a pyre of made of his bannermen who refused to convert to the new religion (early season 2, I think).

No doubt many folks will not agree with you, but you are spot on: the directors lost it on Stannis.

This twist in the character of Stannis is uncalled for. He has now lost his protagonistic ambience in the hearts of the audience.

Regardless of what the plot is, this "radicalisation" of Stannis is unnecessary. We are now indirectly forced to support the "sick" Ramsay Bolton in the forthcoming battle of Winterfell.

Protagonist? "Forced to support"? And I thought you were a true GoT fan.

A show has no protagonists.

A man supports no one.
