That2: This isn't about saying "RIP", People should be held accountable for this. What caused the tank to fell? Is it bad road? Then held the government for it. Is it from the fault of the tank? Then held the company for it. BTW which company is the tank conveying fuel from? Come to think of it, these are the same people boosting of how they have so much fuel even in scarcity and now that abundance fuel is what killed many. I feel even worse, cos I know NO ONE will be held accountable. The affected people here are mostly likely the less-than-well-to-do and perhaps semi-literate park thugs, people who don't even know enough to demand justice, people who aren't even sure of breakfast the next day. And we all know what the authorities are like. Your average Nigerian is now wired to just say "eyaah, R.I.P", and move on. Terrible. |

Csami: Well, with all the speculations going on and some strong point some people presented, tyrion may or may not be a targaryen. For Jon snow, I doubt if he has dragon blood in him. My reason is this, if you have dragon blood that makes you immune to fire abi? But snow got burnt while killing two men of the night's watch that turned to white walkers. Ehh, no it doesn't. Lots of Targaryens (both pure-blooded and otherwise) actually died by fire in the past. As a matter of fact, the source of the tv show (= author) hasn't been clear at all on what guarantees resistance to fire/heat, just like what qualifies one as a dragon-rider is also ambiguous. A number of Targaryen dragon-riders were actually killed - and in one instance EATEN - by dragons! |

Methinks its his new found love for Dornish women that has changed his heart. I tire o. I'm even forming mod for him here Seun: At some point we stopped enforcing the no spoiler rule. Should we start again? Hmm, no. Gbola5 and co sure spill spoilers like nobody's business, but I have to admit the dude keeps the thread warm somewhat... Gbola5: I dont mean it as a fight like that. I just used "dance" because each Stark feels like the only one left, and there are people trying to bring them forward, more like a dance with wolves. I have a feeling that Sansa won't survive to the end... Her direwolf is dead. |
Literature › Re: Questions, Theories, And Trivia Of The ASOIAF (Game Of Thrones) Books. by kay9(m): 5:12pm On May 24, 2015 |
Gbola5: What's your favorite storyline ? Which are you looking forward to in TWOW the most. Mine's the Dance of Wolves". I'm looking forward to EVERYTHING, honestly But I think "the dragon must have three heads" line appeals to me specially. I'm with the school that preaches it means there'll be three dragon riders. Thing is, I also suspect that Aegon/Griff is the "mummer's dragon" - i dunno, he just looks too good to be true IMO (plus Varys' explanation of his survival don't look so convincing under severe scrutiny). So assuming R+L=J, who's the third rider? Tyrion? Stannis? Victarion? And here's something else few noticed: during the Dance of Dragons when "dragon seeds" were chosen, it is very likely that not all of them had Targaryen blood. Nettles/Sheepstealer comes to mind in particular. Hence my last question, how are we sure that the 3rd head of the dragon even needs to be of Targaryen decent? And who says it has to be male?? Mmmm... I can't wait to find out. One last thing... I honestly don't think there'll be any dance of wolves; the Starks (Jon Snow included) are too close-knit to fight each over rulership. The only possible exception to this could be Rickon; the kid barely knew his parents and was openly belligerent (along with his wolf), perhaps cos Ned wasnt around to instill the Stark values of into him. |

I have argued this with a law student before. And how did that argument turn out? Your statements in italics above is oozing with so much ignorance. Do yourself a favor, google "marital rape". |
TV/Movies › Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by kay9(m): 10:06am On May 21, 2015 |
ApexTitan: Sansa's case was different (it wasn't rape!) but I have to say you don't know what you are talking about; marital rape is criminalised in about 105 countries today, go to places like the US and force yourself on your wife and see if you won't be cooling your heels in prisons like Sing Sing.
And yes men can and do get raped by women. Was it not early this month that the story broke that a man was raped by 3 women in South Africa? A few years ago a business man was raped to death in Benue state by 5 of his wives. These things happen.
Open a fresh thread to trash this matter out so you don't derail this one. Don't mind the cave man. |

themodernman: You're not well informed brother...I on the other hand have been tutored as a medical student under the foremost renowned forensic expert during med school...who confirmed: THERE IS NO RAPE IN MARRIAGE....of course you can hold on to your sentimental view to gather more likes & shares here but that won't change the bitter truth...what is not acceptable is you assaulting & battering her b4 you do it...but anything sexual is legal cos there's nothing like consent in marital sex...if she's fed she should file for divorce shikena. The same way a man cannot be raped legally as it's still restricted to females for now...so even if a girl drugs & rapes you, you do not have a case! Man up & stop being sentimental. Dude what rock have you been living under? |
TV/Movies › Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by kay9(m): 7:24pm On May 20, 2015 |
themodernman: Don't mind them...ppl shouting rape are just being senselessly emotional...once a woman is your wife, you can legally have her as many times you want without proboem with the court whether she likes it or not. ...Actually, you can't. Whether your wife or not, any day she says "no", you'd be well-adviced to steer clear. Ask any lawyer. Sansa's case is a sore pickle because she willingly walked into it and stayed there to take it, even though we the audience know that she would rather not. I still think its rape, but hey that's just my opinion. Its all these folks screaming blue murder that I'm just pissed at - why didn't they raise as much hew-haw when Theon was almost sodomized and then castrated like a pig? People should just relax and enjoy the show. |
TV/Movies › Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by kay9(m): 7:12pm On May 20, 2015 |
Gbola5: Marital rape is still rape. Even though they did at at the time(and its not ancient, its medieval times). But its still considered rape whether they're married or not. But Dany started to develop from there, it became part of her development story in the show. Sansa's was unneccessary, it doesnt mean that she will also develop from there also. She's always the victim, and part of her character growth was to stop being the victim...bla bla bla Sorry I had to shorten your long grammar up there. Sansa was raped, end of story. Folks can either live with it, or quit watching. What plot point did bursting Oberyn like a tomato serve? What character development did Theon achieve by getting castrated? Heaven didn't fall when any of those happened, so whats all the hullabaloo about? Please have a chill pill, let's just watch the show for what it is: an adaptation trying to approximate reality. |

I am yet to hear from the feminists tho In a truly feudal society (which I believe the show producers are using as a template), women are often dominated. Its sad and despicable, but it remains a true fact. As for the doggy, umm, I don't gerrit, who doesn't like doggy? Ladies, make una talk o. |

Sansa is rag doll for all comers. If life with Jeoffrey didn't toughen her nothing else would. I am hoping Reek snaps out of it and dispatch that beast called Ramsay. Calm down. This is pammy they're still serving; champagne is on the way. |
TV/Movies › Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by kay9(m): 10:38am On May 19, 2015 |
ApexTitan: Honestly I think they have made Sansa suffer too much. I am going to find it hard that she will function as a normal person again - not to mention a cold and heartless individual. She would be nearing if not already suffering mental breakdown by now. Her carrying on with any other plans of revenge or whatever would be requiring us to suspend belief a little too much. Haba.
See how Theon is a shell of his former self just because of the torment he recieved under Ramsay and what he suffered, as bad as it is, cannot be matched by what Sansa has suffered in total. Theon holds the undisputed title of Most Tortured and Tormented Character in my books. Sansa is not far away in second place, but physical torture and mutilation ranks higher than psychological torture for me any day. However, (hope this doesn't count as a spoiler) in Sansa's case I think the producers have a hidden agenda; I won't be surprised to see her develop Stoneheart-traits before the season ends. So "cold and heartless" might just be the target. |
TV/Movies › Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by kay9(m): 9:49am On May 19, 2015 |
ApexTitan: Yeah I agree, this isn't rapè, she consented by agreeing to marry Ramsay. What is disturbing about it all is Ramsay insisting that Reek/Theon watch them do the do. No love or affection just pure animal taking. Kai.
Like I said earlier Sansa is messed up for life. How can she recover from all the misfortunes that have befallen her, her family as far as she knows, all murdered. The trauma she suffered under Joffery; What is left of her family home occupied by strangers; and now being taken on her wedding night in front of the man (Theon) who betrayed her family. This is all to much. The average woman would be on the verge of suicide by now after all this.
Whatever revenge Sansa exacts in the future will never be satisfactory. Let's all watch and see. You know what I think? I think Sansa needed this. I personally see this as a final proof to her that no one - not Littlefinger, not Brienne, not her father's bannemen, and definitely not her half-brother at the Wall - no one will fight for her. If she really wants to keep the Stark line alive, then she has to fight and kill by herself - the Stark way. By the way, who else still remembers that simpering air-headed girl from Season 1 who wanted to marry the prince because he was handsome and brave like a lion? Think of this is as her final metamorphosis.... into Lady Stoneheart. |
