Possibly, but I don't think it will be for Jon; the direwolf will be sacrificed for that.

I just remembered something... Who else saw that look on Dany's face just before Drogon arrived? The mumu girl actually held Missandei's hand in preparation of dying... Lol.

Yea yea the episode was all right, BUT
...
Methinks the director of this show is cray cray and I hate the emerging pattern. Something bad-- with a nasty shock value has to happen that ends up with a woman suffering. Nah, I don't like that...
They needn't have bothered with all the scenes involving Stannis affirming his love for Shireen only to come kill her for nothing! angry
Unless emotionally manipulating the audience is the new IT...
Reek that rhymes with freak, gleefully relieved of his 6-inch trick, hello? Robb Stark, First of his name, pregnant wife butchered before his eyes, and then he butchered before his mother's eyes while she begged and begged for his life... Lord Eddard Stark, the beheading that broke our hearts - back when we had hearts, anyway - surely you remember him?

Its Game of Thrones; let's leave sentiments for the kindergarten.

MY OPINION ON THIS EPISODE

F*ck you stannis.
Oh yeah, ^^^ this is the dude that once proclaimed Stannis as the rightful king. Eyaa... grin

He didnt have to do that. Part of his duty to the realm is to provide an heir, and he burned that heir. Do you know there have been wars over lesser things than succession. Dont you think there could be another Stannis vs Renly case...
Its an unwritten law in Westeros that female heirs never sit the Iron Throne. It was attempted once and the result was that "Dance of Dragons" that poor Shireen was reading before her sad demise - a civil war between a Targaryen princess and queen. It has never been tried again ever since.

Mmm....

What can I say? I certainly didn't see that one coming. I'll say this for GoT though, this show continuously hits a 10/10 on shock value. My usual take sha:

- When the opening credits rolled by and I didn't see "Lena Headey", I knew there'd be no Cersei this week.

- I had high hopes for the Dorne scenes; I won't say I was disappointed, but the feeling is pretty close. And since when do commoners strike royalty and get away with it all limbs intact?

- Jon Snow almost stranded outside the Wall - now that I did see coming! grin I can almost smell the mutiny in the air; the looks they giving Jon, this could be worse than what happened to the previous Commander. I'm betting that little Olly is the one going to give it to Snow.

- What the heck is wrong with A Girl? This One won't do the simply merciful task given to her, wandering off with a slightly zombiefied look on her face...

- Ahha... I vaguely remember some dude posting here that he thinks Stannis is the rightful king; I wonder what he thinks now. Goodbye, Shireen, sniff-sniff.

- Ser Jorah a.k.a Oga Friendzone finally proves his worth. Good for him. And while we're at it, who else thinks Daario is becoming really annoying? Meanwhile poor Hizah Loraq (I can never get that dude's name right) gets enough holes in his chest to float a mini armada. And our good lil Imp to the rescue! And Dany finally flies Drogon Airways...which sadly seems to have only one seat.

Ok, that's that. Now, I shall sit back and watch the internet curse Stannis Baratheon to seven hells and tear its hair out in misery. grin

this is different. This time around, winter has come! work together or die. I rest my case
One thing I've learnt about this series is that they try to mix in a bit of true human nature. And the truth is people ALWAYS resist change. Now add the lifelong fear/hate they've always felt for wildings.... Mmm, I dunno smiley

Looking forward to ep9 sha.

bro take it or leave it...when the crows hear what happened with the WW, they will all realize that Jon did the best thing any commander will do. Imagine a whole army of wildling wights...no crow will be left to judge Jon snow.
This isn't the first the Crows have heard of WW. Remember in season 1 the then Lord Commander was enlisting Tyrion's help, he referred to what they were fighting as "wildlings and...some other things", and Tyrion laughed it off as "snarks and grumpkings". Later on, two of their own brothers turned in wights and tried to kill the Lord Commander. Much later (season 2/3?) they fought wights and lost a huge number of their forces (were Joer Mormont saved Sam after he killed the WW), and were forced to trek back to Craster's keep...
YET it is still hard for them to see reason in Jon Snow's decision

Marwyn the Mage. One of the maesters Sam meets at the Citadel, the only one who would listen. That said he'd be going to Dany. Looks more a thug than maester. Met Mirri Maz Duur at somepoint. He was looking into a dragonglass candle when Sam met him.
Oh, yeah. Totally forgot him. Guess that's what happens when a series installment is 5yrs late.

I've always wondered at how GrrM seemingly did away with the Blackfyres...

And now I've started thinking about Ben Plumm... That dude has been hanging around Dany's court for quite a while. And he's supposed to have some distant Targaryen ancestor (or two); canon sources suspect his Targaryen ancestry from Aegon IV. But me thinks tracing his lineage that far should really dilute his "blood of old Valyria" heritage, yet the dragons still kinda like him. I won't be surprised if it turns out he's direct descendant of the Blackfyres, albeit from a female line. And he is also dark (brown) skinned....

Are you sure this guy isn't the "dark flame"?

It'll be a fine lovely kettle of fish if he suddenly pulls out the valyrian steel Blackfyre in WoW! smiley

Why is the show thread more active. ?!
Cos almost everything theory out there has been dissected and analyzed to pieces, nothing new to munch on. Meanwhile, Book 6 is 6 years (and counting) behind schedule. Truely, its the TV show keeping the interest alive now.

Quaithe warn Daenerys against kraken n darkflame, lion n griffin, who's the sun's son n the murmers dragon I'm thinking Quentin n Ben plum
The kraken and dark flame should be Victarion and that babalawo fella he picked up at sea. Lion is obviously Tyrion; Griffin would appear to be Jon Connington, but i wonder... GrrM rarely gives straightforward clues, it might be someone (or something) else. The sun's son (Quentyn) is already dead. And the mummer's dragon? Ten silver stags says its Young Griff a.k.a Aegon.

And if Tyrion is truely the lion, then the tin-foil theory of him being Aerys' get goes up in flames.

Abeg abeg Gbola5 this is too much! The way you are going about this is something else...

Which of these have more legitimacy, scripts written by the TV producers that are endorsed by George RR Martin himself or stuff posted by some overweight 30 something year old man living in his mother's basement?

You need to come to terms with the fact that the TV show is what it is, it is not an improvement or ridicule of the book story...

Sveen:
Over a glass (or several) of wine, Tyrion
and Daenerys get down to brass tacks.
She wants the Iron Throne, and knows
little of its games or its players. He
suggests that the surest path to succeed
might be not playing that particular
game at all; perhaps she can do the most
good staying in Meereen and ruling well.
He wisely points out that she has little
support from the wealthy and powerful
of Westeros, the same problem that has
plagued her in Meereen. She disdainfully
observes that the game of thrones is
really just a wheel—a flat circle, even—
where winners and losers rise and fall
like spokes, crushing the rest of world
beneath their conflicts.

“I’m not going to stop the wheel. I’m
going to break the wheel,” she says,
sounding every bit the revolutionary.
And sure, yelling “dracarys!” at the
injustices of the world might feel
satisfying, but it’s not a great long-term
strategy for winning hearts and minds.
As Tyrion points out, overthrowing the
system might be a nice dream, but it’s
certainly not a new one; nor can force
alone achieve it. There’s something
lovely about seeing Dany’s ambition and
idealism tempered by the cool
practicality of Tyrion’s political savvy,
like a great machine finally assembled
and lurching into motion.
...And you, sir, are almost as eloquent as Tyrion himself.

There's Ice the ancestral Stark sword renamed after the original Ice that was taking off a white walker. Heart's Bane of House Tarly. Red Rain of House Reyne. Lamentation of House Royce. Lady Forlorn of House Corbray. Longclaw of House Mormont now in possession of Jon. Ice was split into Oathkeeper and Widow's Wail. Nightfall of House Harlaw. Brightroar of House Lannister lost about hundreds of years ago before the conquest. Blackfyre and Darksister of House Targaryen (i dont know what happened to them). Vigilance of House Hightower. Orphan Maker(forgotten the House). And so on. There's also a valyrian steel arakh by some sellsword. The thing is we haven't encountered or heard of them in the show. But there are more than three. Tywin tried to buy from minor lords but, they'd rather give up their daughters.
You forgot Dawn, of House Dayne, last wielded by Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning.

But for the average show viewer, here are the known Valyrian swords in the show:
- Jon Snow's bastard sword, Longclaw.
- Ned Stark's greatsword, Ice. After his death, Ice was melted down on Tywin Lannister's orders and from it came:
- (a) Jaime Lannister's longsword, Oathkeeper, given to Brienne.
- and (b) Jeoffrey Lannister's longsword, Widow Wail. Haven't seen it since the SOB choked on his pigeon pie.

Okay-dokay.... My take on episode 8:

- Tyrion Lannister is GOOD! Damn, that guy is good... and Ser Jorah is a sucker, a walking-corpse of a sucker. Poor guy.

- Cersei is certainly getting her just desserts. This face is the last thing you'll see before - WHACK!!! grin

- Isn't Sansa just lovely? Even when she dey vex sef... Mr. Flayer dey chop better ting sha. See how she towers above Reek-that-rhymes-with-Meek.

- I have no comments for A-Girl-Named-Lana... till next episode.

- Next time someone says "Talk is cheap", just refer him to Tormund Giantsbane. grin
