armadeo:Maynard Plumm IS Bloodraven. Been a while since I read The Mystery Knight , but I figured it out as soon as I read the story the very first time. If you still don't get it, try re-reading the story and pay attention to Maynard's choice of words at the camp fire and the impression Dunk has of his "features" when he meets Maynard in the night during the fight. And of course, the dude disappears into thin air right before Bloodraven shows up with the calvary. As for Bittersteel and the Blackfyres, I'm afraid that'll take a full history class on post-dragon-era Targaryens. If my memory serves, the whole Blackfyre rebellions stemmed from Aegon IV who had so many royal bastards and then legitimized ALL of them on his deathbed. Bloodraven and Bittersteel were both royal bastards (and thus half-brothers), but Bloodraven supported the crown prince, Daeron (who became king), while Bittersteel supported their popular bastard brother, Daemon (who then rebelled and crowned himself Daemon I Blackfyre)... and thus the Blackfyre uprisings began. The Fiddler in the story is the son (abi grandson? I don forget) of Daemon I Blackfyre. I'll recommend you read 'em up in the TWOIAF book... or you can ask Gbola5 for one of his usual "pro-bono" lectures. ![]() |
Smh... You know what? I dont have strength. Tpiander, please come and abuse this OP for me. |
zube01:Some I already knew, while some I was glad to read for the first time... but "real life" Drogon was the best piece! ![]() |
winetapper:Me too! Lol.... So Drogon the dragon in real life is just an extra-large kitchen mop painted green?? ![]() |
bronzegoddess:Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but yours is just terrible. If the man is question was your brother, would you give this advice? Or better still, how about a guy keeps you close.. You know, just keep you close but not necessarily date you o, just keep you close. Yeah, very good idea, if I say so myself. |
Do NOT marry someone you are not physically attracted to. How do you even contemplate marrying someone who doesn't excite you passionately?? Or do you imagine God will come down from heaven and instill the desire for hubby into you on your wedding night? Smh... |
I'm no expert at screen-playing, but this looks good... And it reads good too. And that twist at the end, text-book perfect! ![]() Sholay, are you involved in movies/entertainment? |
So I was a lil bored and thought to go look up my old love, the ASoIaF/GoT thread... Anyway long story short, I was spurred to go dig for new news ![]() Aproko from the Grapevine #1: Winds of Winter could be out by April '16! I for one really hope this turns out true; I'd really prefer to read the book first before season 6 premieres. Aproko from the Grapevine #2: Season 6 has already begun shooting... and Jon Snow is back!! Ok, perhaps this particular bit didn't surprise me that much, but it still feels good to have that confirmation. The Wall won't be the same without his dour face constantly reminding everyone that Winter is coming! Aproko from the Grapevine #3: At last, Tower of Joy is coming to the small screen!! Personally this is best piece of "aproko" for me -Sean Bean will likely make a return... Lynna Stark, Howland Reed, plus the last Sword of the Morning, Ser Arthur Dayne! Eye candy!!! ![]() Aproko from the Grapevine #4: The Crow's Eye might set sail Casting calls for Season 6 supposedly includes one for a "hard, cunning pirate"; mmmmh.... anyone else had the name Euron Greyjoy flash through his brain? P.S: As usual, I'm too lazy to bother posting links. Find your own spoilers and spoil it for yourself by yourself! ![]() |
raayah:Raayah, surely you have a better grasp on events than this... I won't hold brief for racism in Russia cos it certainly exists, but your statements in bold are just, i dunno, disappointing. On which news channel did you read/watch that any of the black victims had weapons? Which one of them was the attacking police? Anyway, I'm derailing... On the US crying wolf over Russia's stepped up attacks, I think that's just kettle calling the pot black. The only true victims here are the Syrian people. Sure the U.S works hard to maintain world peace, but anyone that thinks they're doing it cos "America Has Such A Big Heart" is the biggest fool of all. Name ANY crisis at all in Africa or in the Middle East; the CIA has its paws all over ALL of them. Perhaps America meant well, perhaps it also tried to help while secretly exploiting to maintain its global dominance; whatever it's original aims were, the simple and honest fact is that everywhere the U.S enters, it leaves in a WORSE shape. So what gives them the right to poke fingers and thumb noses at Russia? Nothing! Because Russia, like Tony Montana, doesn't play "pretend". And Russia, like Tony Montana, doesn't give sh!t what anyone thinks. Sure, Putin and his troops may or may not succeed, but who is America to judge? What was the real reason behind Desert Storm decades ago? What of Bush's Iraqi invasion and the "invisible" WMD? What of France/NATO's activities in nearby Niger Republic and North-West Africa, protecting their uranium sources from Islamists (or dont you know of those)? Look...The U.S and its allies are just good @ the Pretend game, Russia on the other hand simply doesn't give a flying f!!ck. The only people, the only faction that my heart goes out to, are the ordinary Syrians, men women and children who will suffer and probably die before all this is over.

tpiander:May I ask why you think so? I may not agree with you, but your views are usually interesting to read.- |
SSpeter:I don't believe I've heard the "igbati" described like that before. ![]() Still though, raising your hands to wifey is a no-no for me. If I ever have to do that, I might as well call the lawyer to prep the papers cos my respect for her is gone... and I can't live with someone I don't respect. |
I apologize bro, but I really have to laff small first... ![]() Ok, now to be serious: Dude, do yourself a favor and ignore folks trying to tell what you should or shouldn't do - listen only to your own heart. And if your heart says "I've changed my mind about so-so", by all means listen - you owe nobody any explanation. And if you end up making a mistake, fkk it, at least then you have stories of youthful "mis-deeds" to tell your grandchildren. Now on to your desire to taste the forbidden fruit .... the most important thing is, Never Ever Skin-dive - always use protection (that means a condom, by the way); the extra skin-skin pleasure is NOT worth multitude of complications it is possible to generate. Secondly, please don't set your expectations too high - mind-blowing first time sxx only happens in Harlequin novels. Take it gently, allow yourself and your partner time to adjust to yourselves, engage in plenty of fore play, and for heaven's sake please stick to Missionary style - don't try any crazy thing and embarass yourself! ![]() Uhh, yeah lastly, watch your partner's body language afterwards; some females like to cuddle after the "deed", some don't, but whichever way make sure you dont initiate it first. And complement her afterwards - make a light joke or something - it helps to ease that first time tension. By the way, umm...just an after thought: please dont have your first time with a hooker; it rarely ends well. |
Feraz:And it never occurred to you to TAKE A GAWDAMN PICTURE?? Gawdamn Bloodmoon meets gawdamn Supermoon, and not even one gawdamn pic of it from Nigeria. ![]() |
I'm surprised you included Russell Crowe's character from Next Three Days , but left out Gerrard Butler's (evil) genius from The Law-Abiding Citizen. And while we're at it, it's just that your title says "TV"... Movies/TV shows are yet to truly capture/depict Bruce Wayne's intelligence; his comics version is so much smarter! Otherwise I'd have expected Batman on this list too. |
chocolateme:I didn't realize the girl was a property. Perhaps the guy should get a proof of ownership too while he's at it. |

@luvinhubby, can you provide this? https://www.nairaland.com/2583589/straight-belgium-honda-engine-needed-port <EOD 04 v6 engine needed in Port Harcourt> |
If you are a Honda parts dealer or you know someone who can provide the above, kindly call 07046173224. It's kind of urgent. |
And I thought we had jungle justice in Nigeria... Two Indian sisters 'sentenced' to be raped and then paraded naked around the streets with their faces blackened in another example of India's scandalous 'village justice'.Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/11832399/Indian-sisters-to-be-raped-as-punishment-for-brother-eloping.html cc: Freiburger r231 Sisikill Tgirl4real |
sevule:Apologies for digging this up again, but I've only just seen your post... I'll admit, your Answer1 is reasonable enough. The GMD does have that authority, and even new-born babes in Nigeria know that NNPC badly needs pruning. But your Answer2 is HIGHLY debatable - due process done and dusted in under 2 weeks?? And for the sake of argument, termination of appointment without due process DOES happen in civil service/govt-administered firms. 2 Cases in point: the striking doctors in Lagos State who got sacked in 2012, and the lecturers at Rivers State UST sacked by ex-gov. Amaechi. My point in all this: NNPC needs serious restructuring, but two wrongs don't make a right. I don't agree that retiring someone who still has over 12 months in his contract is fair or legal. As many have said on this very thread, there are LOTS of incompetent and poorly-performing personnel in NNPC; these are the ones who should be properly weeded out, because they are the ones WHO ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOBS. They are the ones employed based on "man-know-man", totally unqualified and unfit for the positions they occupy. Now if it so happens that some of these ones approaching retirement are also compromised performance-wise (i.e. are incompetent), THEN that would be a FAIR reason for retiring them early. That is the due process which I doubt Mr. Kachikwu has been able to do in less than 2 weeks. Gerrit? |
FUCKINGNIGAZ: laudate: ![]() Relax, the guy was just being silly. I know a tongue-in-cheek tease when I see one. |
obailala:No sir, I do not think I am jumping to conclusions at all (in fact, I think you are the one doing that). Mr. Kachi made a public announcement, so please, how is it a "premature conclusion" when I'm just commenting on something he actually said? Secondly, your own argument is terribly flawed; first you ask if I have "imagined" that "this could be a process that has been on for a long time..."; then you go on to say "I'm almost sure this exercise is not totally the handwork of the new GMD". If you are a simple and straight-forward person like me, then you will admit that your statements are all based on imagination and conjecture (assumption). Yes, I certainly did NOT imagine that this process may be something else bigger or whatever, because I have no FACT or VERIFIABLE REASON to imagine so. As for the whole thing not being the GMD's handwork (as you put it), well if that is so, then I'm sorry for him. I don't go around trying to guess or imagine or assume or presume... A man's word should be his bond. And mind you, if there is indeed a previous recommendation lying around that Mr. Kachi simply acted upon, then laudate's initial demands for "proof" becomes justified! |
laudate:You are very welcome, but really, no thanks are needed. I always try to read (and listen) objectively. And to be quite honest, I personally think the current batch of directors at NNPC (including the new GMD) are compromised in one way or another - top of my head, I would suggest contracting a reliable and proven management/audit firm to take charge of NNPC and do a comprehensive clean-up. But then, it's just my opinion and no matter how strongly I feel about how things are with NNPC, the truth remains that I do NOT have all the facts. So... there. ![]() |
smokes:I don't mean to defend laudate's demands for "proof", but the very fact that the new GMD hasn't even been in office for up to TWO WEEKS and already plans to sack 1,000 people... bros me, something is NOT being properly done. Yes, NNPC is over-bloated with lots of "white elephant" personnel, but you can't tell me that in just a little over 1 week, Mr. Kachi has done a comprehensive appraisal of all concerned staff AND identified all those that are under-performing. C'mon, let's be realistic here. It was also mentioned that people due for retirement by December 2016 will be laid off as well. Like seriously?? Eziokwu?? Please someone should inform the new boss that doing that is actually a crime, and that the laid-off workers will have a VERY solid case in court. So unless his real motive is to sink the NNPC into an even bigger mess, he should re-think his strategies. And what about disengagement packages? Or, does he intend to sack and continue round 2 in settlement courts? Anything worth doing is worth doing well; the NNPC needs downsizing, yes, but it must be done right - fairly and equitably, on the basis of low performance indices and non-qualification for the given role - not by a knee-jerk pronouncement. |
ddaammyy:And you've never heard of google too? |
