Gbola5:So Barristan was written off, and that qualifies as "the show kills off characters just for shock"? My friend you are too fond of sweeping statements abeg. Who else have they killed off for shock value? Or you are just upset they deviated from the book? Ser Barristan is over 70yrs old and has served 3 kings by the show's count; how many 70-year-old knights will survive that attack on him? I think the circumstances of his dying off are highly understandable, if I may borrow your words. |
ApexTitan:You are on a loooooooong thing. |
I actually like the GreyWorm+Missandei pairing, after all nobody is unlovable. I think I now understand what he meant by being ashamed... See, he's supposed to be fearless even in the face of death - cos he doesn't have anything to lose, he's Unsullied, he only lives to serve. But then he develops feelings for Missandei, and now he's suddenly face to face with death and he realizes he is not fearless after all - he fears not seeing Missandei again, a very stup!d fear considering he doesn't even have the "rod and stones" to enjoy her... That's why he's ashamed. Eeyah. ![]() |
ApexTitan:Bro, she's Targaryen - and the Mad King's daughter to boot! True-born Targaryens (especially those born of brother-sister marriages) are naturally unstable. |
Gbola5:That's your own interpretation, bro. Same thing people have been screaming since Lady the direwolf died for a yeye prince...and Ned Stark lost his head... and Robb Stark knifed and butchered...and Oberyn Martell's head burst like a tomato. It ain't gon' neva stop. |
Now for careful analysis... Flashbacks at the beginning showing Maester Aemon talking to Jon (from season 1, I think) ---> Well, more reason not to compare book and show; Aemon here is actually late Aerys' brother (and not grand-uncle as in the book). So guys, apologies, I was wrong to correct y'all before - Maester Aemon here is truly Daenerys' uncle. Does anyone else think Ramsay The dude is a monster, yes, but boy! he certainly nails his role perfectly. But the way things are going, I just feel that between him and Brienne, one of them will not survive this season. And how about that marriage proposal? Lol... I think that GreyWorm-Missandei scene was just a tad-bit forced. I will certainly miss Ser Barristan Selmy a.k.a Barristan the Bold. Read up on him if you can; that man was a real commando in his youth. Oh, and of course, Drogon winging it silently over old dead Valyria. I think Tyrion and Jorah have really good chemistry. I rate this episode 8/10 |
ApexTitan:Badt guy! I think say na only me see am! ![]() But I think its the dress sha, sewn to hug her package like a sports bra. But that gurl fine sha! |
Okay..... ![]() I downloaded episode 5 since morning but couldn't watch till just now, and you know wat? I liked it! Guys, see, you have to stop comparing show and book; you are just killing the fun for yourself. Think about this, assuming there wasn't a book first, can you be honest and say this episode wasn't cool? As for me, the show is most certainly keeping to its nature - killing off characters when you least expect. Its just that I'd really expected to see Jaime, but hey, I'm not complaining - I really really thought it'd be him kicking the bucket in this episode! ![]() |
Gbola5:Actually, this episode written for television by someone new, and was directed by JEREMY PODESWA. Was first thing I noticed. |
Natasha247:Evil Cult?? I think that's the movie I'd watched when i am bored already... the degree of dumbness and weirdness in it is guaranteed to lighten you up any day. |
Nice. Very nice. Molestation-themed stories are always a hard read for me, but this one...this one went smoothly. Well done! |
Hugo Weaving was more of an anti-hero in V for Vendetta, but that movie is his best for me. His articulation and elocution in that movie would put any Obama speech to shame. The way he said that line, "Good evening, London..." ![]() I even recommended it to one of my kid bro when he was preparing for his WAEC English exam last year! |
Truth is I honestly shouldn't be commenting - I'm not really a fan of nollywood movies, see... Its just that whenever I hear "nollywood action movie", I remember that Basketmouth's comedy skit... - oh you have shot me! - yes I have shot you! - now I will die... - yes! die!! - oh, I am dead, awww... *makes dying sounds * ![]() |
tonywirelex:I tellsss you! ![]() |
Dnarvaez:Young man go and upgrade your cussing skills. In the meantime, just click "un-follow". You're trolling the thread. |
Mmmm... I know Cary Tagawa better as Shang Tsung (from the Mortal Kombat movie); I don't think he's ever played a good guy in his acting career. Jet Li is just blah jaré. His karate is top-notch no doubt, but his acting skills leave quite a bit to be desired. Craig Parker as Darken Rahl was quite fun to watch - the guy had class! Sadly the rest of the show was just blah to me.Well, everyone knows English guys make the best movie villains - so Hugo Weaving and Statham are no surprises. I haven't seen Fast7 so can't comment on Statham really, but Hugo Weaving...mehn that guy is a genius. It was his portrayal of Agent Smith that first showed me the importance of a well-written movie script. P.S: Hey, fun fact, did you guys know Hugo Weaving was born in Nigeria?? And in 1960 too! |
Dnarvaez:You claim the show is for kids, yet you keep commenting on the discussion. Aproko + Joblessness is a very bad condition. |
Hey... who remembers that funny YouTube video where one fat guy sings "I gat t!tt!es like a woman..!" ![]() |
tpiadotcom:Well, look who it is... ![]() |

All this talk about women who initiate relationships being unreliable just plain irritates me - you guys just don't give women enough credit. And the worst is, the women folk can't be bothered to correct that impression. Here's a fact of life: a woman who will "port", will "port"; whether it was you who approached her, or she approached you, has absolutely nothing to do it. And see, let's fashi all this woman-phobic line of thought sef; what about the guys? Last I checked neither me nor my band of drinking buddies passed the "perfect gentleman" test. Any guy that wants a perfect woman should become perfect first. All I'm saying is, nothing in life is absolute; that 80% of women who initiate relationships end up cheating (and thats not even true!) doesn't mean that the one who approaches you will cheat. Live free, bro. |
missclasssy:Correct! Please PM me your number and bbm pin sharpish. We have family things to discuss. |
skylane:Its not what I have in mind, buddy - I'm not the one dating her; you are. So be straight with yourself: Does the woman match your desired vision of a partner? If no, then better do the needful. How you do it is totally irrelevant in the long run. But if you are interested in how I would do it, well, I'm the straightforward type: Sit her down and be honest - honey I want out. If you want to add grammar: I have decided we have irreconcilable differences. And if you wanna add flair: Honey, its not you, its me. ![]() |
I stopped reading at "she always demands money..." Dude, I think you already know what to do. |
missclasssy:Ma'am your comment scores 10/10. Abeg are u married? |
Csami:voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate... ![]() ![]() |
MzzTega:No wonder.... Indomie pikin. |
MzzTega:Yes, horror. I've watched lotsa horror flicks in mytime and i don't rattle easy. Did you ever see that (online) video "2 Girls, 1 Cup"? Well I did, and my biggest response to it was just a slight grimace. But Passion of the Christ? Mmm. that movie gave my chain a big yank. Abeg na horror film. |
Gbola5:Yeah, well whatever. Either way no raven-mail for the little 'uns. |
Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ. Mehn, that movie na horror film. |
