It is condescendingly laughable to call USA into play in any issue involving trashy Nigeria.
Almost every country on earth has separatist groups agitating for self determination. Nothing unique about it.

DerideGull:
Scottish National Party is the political party/entity that represents Scottish autonomy intetest in the parliament and pushed UK to grant Scotland referendum.

You wrote the above bolded statements. Why are you now suggesting APGA instead of supporting Biafran Peoples Party (BPP). Did I sniff a form of dishonesty with above post?
Just cause one is immediately available to use as opposed to the hurdles you will run into with INEC for the other.

You can register BPP for all I care, just do the right thing.
PoliticsRe: IGBOS And The South South Minorities. by kayfra: 4:29pm On Dec 27, 2015
DerideGull:
Is the bolded not the exemplary display of idiotic African mentality? When Europeans embark on the business of separation, it is nationalist movement. However when any African embarked on the same business of separation, it baptized as separatist group. It is a waste of time educating most Africans.
Use your head along with your Internet connection. The USA alone has over 15 separatist groups, rightly named as such.
PoliticsRe: IGBOS And The South South Minorities. by kayfra: 4:25pm On Dec 27, 2015
DerideGull:
It apparent idiocy to talk about Scotland in the same frequency with Biafra. I cannot even talk about of Biafra on this forum without being banned talk less of registering a political party in Nigeria any part of the word- Biafra as part of name given to the political party. I bet you INEC will never register any party called Biafran Peoples Party (BPP).
1. You can adopt APGA
2. You can recall and vote out existing representatives and replace them with politicians with Biafran interest at hand.
3. You can lobby secession minded representatives from other regions so you both lobby for your separate interests

When all that is done. Nobody can deny you a referendum since it will be clear to every country in the world that you are dully represented. If UN comes today and just asks you how many of your representatives have filed for Biafra in NASS , the reply will be embarrassing. If they also asks even for the registered members of Ipob, MASSOB etc and compare it to the total population of Ndigbo, it will also be embarrassing.
You need to know that Nigeria is the current golden example of western democracy in Africa after Jonathan accepted defeat and no sane world leader will come close to appearing to fight for its disintegration without a valid political process. Do the right thing, nothing good comes easy.
PoliticsRe: IGBOS And The South South Minorities. by kayfra: 4:16pm On Dec 27, 2015
DerideGull:
You simply cannot have your dumbass cake and eat it. The IPOB and MASSOB have been around for more than five years. One wonders what stopped the idiotic Nigeria government from getting into dialogue with them. Instead, the government led by stiffs chose to arrest, kill and illegally detain their leader.
A separatist group is not a political party. See the difference?
PoliticsRe: IGBOS And The South South Minorities. by kayfra: 4:14pm On Dec 27, 2015
DerideGull:
Do you think the IPOB and MASSOB would have blocked roods if Biafra was granted the same status UK granted Scotland? It appears most Nigerians lacked the commonest of the sense.
Scottish National Party is the political party/entity that represents Scottish autonomy intetest in the parliament and pushed UK to grant Scotland referendum. If it was just bombing like what IRA did in the past, it wouldn't have worked smoothly.

Where is Biafra's representation in NASS is all I ask?
PoliticsRe: IGBOS And The South South Minorities. by kayfra: 4:07pm On Dec 27, 2015
DerideGull:
Per the bolded, it speaks volume about idioctic African mentality. You were the first to invoke the tolerant nature that existed between Scotland and England as well as Czech and Slovakia yet in neck of the wood such political awareness has become disturbing the peace and sabotaging efforts. No wonder Africans are looked upon very disdainfully.
When all you do is riot and call people names with no real plans for actualization of Biafra then you are just disturbing the peace.
PoliticsRe: IGBOS And The South South Minorities. by kayfra: 4:06pm On Dec 27, 2015
DerideGull:
Can you honestly point out any of the alleged political process that led to the mutual division of Czechoslovakia? The simple political awareness being generated by Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and MAASOB is being tramped to death by the enemies of progress. Nigerians are worse than typical Africans who are idiotically moronic.
Czechoslovakia dissolution known as the velvet divorce was mainly achieved by negotiations between the main political parties; People's Party Movement for a Democratic Slovaki, Slovak National Party, Civic Democratic Party and other smaller parties when the political parties were increasingly regional.

Per the bolded, is another such silly analogy always proffered in the forum. Scotland plays soccer matches in qualifiers in world cup as a country. Does Biafra even have a name in Nigeria as Scotland in UK?
Soccer. Really?

How about doing what Czechs and Slovak did?. Same political process. Nigerian constitution does not support secession and the only way you will get one in a sovereign democracy is to follow the process. UN favors territorial integrity to secession in every case outside of a total break down of law and order, which is essentially a war.

AlfaSeltzer:
Better than being a slave.
However, we do not want war whatever lies you and your Abuja handlers are peddling.
Referendum will put everything to rest. Why are afraid of asking people what they want?
Test the popularity of a referendum by asking your elected representatives to file for one or establish a political party such as Scottish National Party and use it as a political platform to push for a referendum. We are in a democracy and those are the viable processes to follow and which UN and ICJ will respect in the absence of a war or severe discrimination.

PoliticsRe: Nnamdi Kanu Should Be JAILED. (and Yes I Am A Proud Igbo) by kayfra: 3:42pm On Dec 26, 2015
Yujin:
Firstly, I hate impostors and Op you are one. Secondly, there are various people and reasons why Nnamdi Kanu may not get support from every Igbo person. Does that mean he should be rejected or condemned to death or jailed for life? NO! Do Ndigbo and her surrounding neighbours want Biafra? Only a referendum will put that to rest. You pan-Nigerians reason like bats. I'm glad we are in the computer age where nothing can be hidden anymore. What are Nnamdi Kanu's crimes? If any, why did two of your courts declare him free of the charges against him? Nnamdi might have solicited for arms to defend our people against well known murderers- the Nigerian security personnel and true to their colours, they still came out to shoot and kill peaceful protesters. We who share similar vision with Kanu are solidly behind him. You cannot jail or kill him without consequences. Our demands are not to war against Nigeria. Our demands are as clear as the sun at noon time. Free Nnamdi Kanu and grant our regions a referendum. If the majority of our people decide to remain in Nigeria, then anyone found chanting biafra again should be dealt with. Anything short of that is purely oppression and people like me hate oppression with every being in me. If and when I lay my hands on a nuclear weapon, oppressors will feel the sting. You can't cage all of us. I didn't witness the biafran war nor the events that led to it but right from when I became conscious of my environment, I knew that my people are treated with disdain. After I read the history, it came to my knowledge that we weren't the cause of the evil visited on us. This is the background on which I'll act whenever I'm empowered. Just know it that as long as you treat us as inconsequential and spill our blood without recourse to respect, we shall become deaf to your calls on that day. Always know that without justice there can never be peace. Continue your impersonation and hate against us. You will regret it someday.
You don't grant referendums out of thin air. Where is your representation? Didn't you elect people?

Hate petulant behaviors such as this.

EternalTruths:
If your colonial master Britain could allow Scottish referendum, it is time you guys stop acting like uncivilized barbarians and start behaving like civilize citizens of the free world

UN Referendum cool
There is a political process yet to be started by IPOB before a democratically elected government undertakes a referendum.

Who are your representatives in NASS?
Do you have a political platform?
How can any government or world body take you seriously?

Next time you ever mention Scottish referendum, have it at the back of your mind that they have the Scottish National Party that pushed for a referendum through a political process and you have nothing but a radio presenter.

Get serious about secession or just go away and stop disturbing the peace.

A lot of good stuff andalso dumb stuff written but I'll focus on the dumb stuff that irritates me.

1. Interest rates reflects the money supply and inherent risk in an economy and banks reserves the right to demand a collateral as part of assessing lending risk. When you grow your own business, please provide loans with no securities to back it up and let's see how long your company lasts.

2. National Marriage Commission, another wasteful government entitlement spending program!? W.T.F! Do you think we can afford another social program? We can't even manage for profit airports!

My solutions to the above:

The quickest way to fix Nigeria is a gradual return to federalism. Get rid of the meaningless "state of origin" and replace it with "state of residence" and watch tribalism crumble. Next, get federal government off resource sharing and allow the states to compete fairly and remit tax revenue to the federal government. Graduates will relocate to productive states and the not so educated can remain in the less productive states. Government can offer subsidized funds for the not so academically inclined and gifted to work and operate in farms.
PoliticsRe: Why Buhari Should Not Borrow Next Year by kayfra: 11:06am On Dec 25, 2015
Let me "borrow" your wisdom. Make a really bad situation terrible just to test the performance of his cabinet. Then borrow 7 times what you initially wanted to borrow to right the error? And you know fully well, the borrowing isn't a one time thing.
PoliticsRe: UNDERSTANDING THE LATEST TREASON CHARGES AGAINST NNAMDI KANU by kayfra:
Freedom of speech has limits even in God's own country and I am sure we have such provisions in our laws since we basically copied theirs.

Kanu can be nailed under these three:

1. Fighting words and offensive speech

Fighting words, as defined by the Court, is speech that "tend[s] to incite an immediate breach of the peace" by provoking a fight, so long as it is a "personally abusive [word] which, when addressed to the ordinary citizen, is, as a matter of common knowledge, inherently likely to provoke a violent reaction".[28] Additionally, such speech must be "directed to the person of the hearer" and is "thus likely to be seen as a 'direct personal insult'"

"Threats of violence that are directed at a person or group of persons that has the intent of placing the target at risk of bodily harm or death are generally unprotected"

2.Government as Regulator of the Airwaves

Regulations of speech on broadcast radio and television are permissible when they are (1) narrowly tailored and (2) further a substantial government interest.[53] Interests that have been found "substantial" include shielding listeners from supposedly offensive ideas and shielding children from offensive expression. The Supreme Court has limited these rules to traditional broadcasting, refusing an attempt to apply this to the internet.

3. Incitement

The Supreme Court has held that "advocacy of the use of force" is unprotected when it is "directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action" and is "likely to incite or produce such action".

I think what we need in Nigeria is true federalism. As a yoruba boy, what I'll canvass for is that every ethnic group/zone should form a mini country, manage their own resources and give a percentage to the federal government. This is the way countries like Britain is run,you have smaller countries like Wales, scotland, ireland, england which makes up britain,Each of them have their leaders or presidents. This present arrangement in Nigeria is seriously killing our cultures and our creativity.Imagine,as a yoruba boy whose official language is supposed to be yoruba, you're being forced to speak english every darm place you go.Bad enough, alot of our local languages have gone into extinction because of this trend.we hav to wake up.
Every ethnic group form their own government? Some of you guys refuse to think.

Quoting a comment

"I have come to the conclusion that the majority of the people clamoring for Biafra really don't want Biafra. How did I come to this conclusion? Their half baked actions.

Somebody please tell me what concrete actions have been carried out towards Biafra's actualization besides pissing people off by protesting with little or no impact on our leadership. The only thing you've gotten are a fractured economy in the SE, probably a hiccup in Alaba, and a few dead protesters.
What are the concrete steps you are carrying out besides saying release Kanu, who is only a radio presenter outside of his role in ipob. The struggle is said to be bigger than one individual.

When I push you guys here for a plan or tactic, the best I hear are UN and Nigeria amalgamation expired. You failed to do basic research to find out that the Niger Delta and Yoruba separatist groups have tried the amalgamation expired angle in 2014 when the supposed treaty allegedly expired just to find out by SAN lawyers and world lawyers that it wasn't the case and a weak sauce of an argument.
Did you guys even think it through that what got amalgamated was not Biafra and Nigeria but Southern and Northern protectorates? So a dissolution will mean we will have a country called South Nigeria with (SW and Edo included)!

Do you know that every country on planet earth has separatists groups! There is nothing unique about your current agitation. All the aforementioned agitations worldwide have petitioned the UN. Guess we arent churning new countries every year or are we? UN must be really powerful, treading on sovereignty left, right and center. USA alone has over 20 separatist! If you don't believe me check wiki for a sampling:

https://en(.)m(.)wikipedia(.)org/wiki/Lists_of_active_separatist_movements

And if you consider self determination as a right guaranteed by UN also consider this nugget. UN also considers housing as a fundamental human right. Wonder why we have homeless people worldwide!

Do you know the world recognizes the sovereignty of Nigeria and we are currently the model for African democracy courtesy of Jonathan's defeat and successful transition of power. Do you think any world body would want to Bleep that up?

What is common for all successful secessions? Answer: A political process.
What do you think the UN will tell you to do if you have separatist movements in a democracy? Well. They'll tell you to get political representation, hence, NASS.

If you are really serious about getting Biafra, as in dead serious. Start with one symbolic gesture. Recall one or two representative and vote someone with Biafra inclinations in. Then start a mass recall for all SE elected officials, if igbos and minorities in the SE are for Biafra, then you have the power. In the absence of a political process you are wasting your time and other people's time as well."
PoliticsRe: Five Reasons Why Igbos Can Never Succeed In Their Biafra Agitation by kayfra: 9:01pm On Dec 20, 2015
VintageCocktail:
What sort of armchair writeup is this.
1..Igbos are in may other countries around the globe and an Igbo refugee is presently the president of Gabon. Being in Lagos is like seeing igbos in other part of Africa like Ghana, Togo etc. You can't tell me that Yoruba's can't do without London.

2..We love ourselves but you can believe otherwise to sooth your ego and biased write up. OSU is a caste system practiced in the olden days and it has been completely phased out by most communities in Igboland but since the cyberworld just realised something like that used to exist, typically, it has to be blown out of proportion to what it is not.

3..Those are not Igbo elites please. Okorocha and Ngige are Igbo APC members, so I do not expect them to come out and support what will sabotage their Oga's effort. I have not seen a prominent Igbo personality that came out to speak for or against either just bunch of unnamed groups and unknown persons.

4...Arewa is made up of close to 100 different tribes in the north and nobody is baiting an eyelid but when Igbos lumps up Igboid groups in the deltas it will be news.

5..We have to find out about that since our present abode isn't working. The risk is worth taking. It is only a weakminded person that will prefer to stay back when there are opportunities to explore. The reprisal killing and ethnic profiling of Igbo tribe because of a cartoon in Denmark is enough for a sane Igbo person to start asking questions about their existence in this country.
Arewa with all it's tribes is based on a relationship of consent. Biafra and minorities in the SS on the other hand lacks consent and it's forced.
