vicade:
Wenger - We have other targets than Arshavin

Andrei Arshavin is just one of Arsenal’s targets in the transfer window.

Arsène Wenger has remained pretty tight-lipped about his reported pursuit of the Russian playmaker since the transfer window opened but, at Thursday’s press conference, the Frenchman did suggest he was hopeful about bringing the 27-year-old to Emirates Stadium. Still, a deal is not close just yet and, interestingly, Wenger added that other players have caught his eye.

“I don't think it is worth to talk about [Arshavin] at the moment because we are nowhere near signing him,” said the manager. "But he is one of the players we consider. He is not the only one we are on.

"Yes,” he replied when asked if he was still hopeful over the transfer. “But at the moment it is not an absolute worry because we have so many players who will come back soon. We focus on them.

“Also speaking about a player like Arshavin - he cannot play in the Champions League. If he comes here now he will have 15-16 games and it will take five, six, seven maybe 10 games to adapt. You don't know."

This should have been considered before we went for him at all Wenger spin-doctor.
The moment the press were all over this one,i knew something COULD go wrong.
Anyway, its one more day gradually fizzling out again in the life of gooners.
Signing or no signing,we are hopelessly devoted! cool

I have lived in Lagos all my life, only leave for vacation and whn i come back,it is places like Oshodi that makes me wanna run back.Whatever your point is,the demolition is a good exercise,no matter whose oxen is gored.
Politics › Re: Pictures Of Oshodi Market Demolition by kaypumpin2(m): 12:20am On Jan 07, 2009
Let all those that cant cope in Lagos go back to their home town rather than litter the street of Lagos.
It is inevitable that some hands MUST get burnt in this bid to rid Lagos of trashy stalls thus NO apologies.
Imagine the number of unrecorded deaths the shenanigan in Oshodi causes daily and some peeps are here
justifying the illegalities.Flea market indeed.Wares been displayed on railway tracks shocked?
Or is it driving a distance of 100 metres within Oshodi for 2 hours.

Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Sports › Re: Has Nigeria Ever Produced A World Class Player? by kaypumpin2(m): 4:11pm On Jan 06, 2009
The parameters and indices for measuring world class players aint exclusive and if we are to use the Ballon d'Or and other awards as the ONLY yardstick, then a lotta players will not even be mentioned. These awards are most times the opinions of the majority.

To say Nigeria as a nation has not produced world class player in the game of football is blasphemous.

The USA 94 team is replete with many of them, Amunuke,Amokachie,Oliseh,Okocha et al are by any standard GREAT footballers.

So funny my first post this year had to be on the Chav's thread. grin

While we @ Ashburton Groove(wonder what's groovy there anyway) are complaining about foetal inundation and proliferation amongst our rank,y'all are exasperated about the senescent nature of your once upon a time solid team undecided embarassed

Rozzi,Walcott and now Fabregas. shocked
God knows how much of difference the first 2 players woulda made as the season pans but then,

The way the other members of the big 4 are playing too doesn't leave much to desire.Maybe it's time for an outsider to snatch it,maybe ASTON VILLA grin tongue

Predictably,yet another draw!
Only A.Villa seem to be doing the job for now.
Let's await Man U's arrival to come complete the already written script.
18 games already and no one's yet to reach 40 points! grin shocked

@HNIC

Sensible of you. So many of your people here are so thankful y'all got Roma like they are just gon' roll over and let themselves get spanked without a fightgrin
Definitely your thin squad might be a problem, but if your players manage to get/stay fit, all should be well. And of course if Wenger gets his selections right.
Its the defense I fear for sef.  .  .leaves a lot to be desired in fast-paced games.
Do not mis-interprete our sigh of relief for wild jubilation. No team can be written off at this stage of the competition. In fact is it not a team in blistering form that gets complacent? Is it this Arsenal team that will get over-confident? Surely every member of this team know they have been a let down and have not given enough,so each and every match counts.

What you see and read from our posts is called RELIEF that we were not given clears throat  ahem ahem ahem barca grin grin

I am yet to hear that particular track from Alabai but i know Alabai is a witty rapper.Clever lines with top draw delivery. He's no new artiste though.
I understand where you coming from as per Mode and i still advise you get more of his songs,he's GOOD.He's improved drstically from the days of formidable and elbow room.
I like him and i like Rugged too, infact i will put Rugged above him(though not lyrically),but as per knowing and acknowledging his immediate enviroment's yearning. The beef between the 2 emcees is needless and uncalled for. Both have sweetening effects in their own ways i.e more like sugar and salt serving different sweetening effects in diff ways.

B.T.W
Try lookin for M.I's song. can get u a link to get some tracks of his. He's the shiznit.

I hope Khanye, Javatwat and Kay_Pumping are reading this. . . . .
Modenine is too monotonous. I want to see a rapper switch styles, switch the paceMix it up and let the audience feel the power.
Nigga was just rapping like Sani Abacha reading Naija's yearly budget.
Very insipid.
I am NO mode 9 phony son.I only like some of his tracks and i still feel beyong the lyrical prowess he's laying claims to,he need to do better in the area of generally acceptability and style variation. To a reasonable extent,he did that in this new album but then,he's till a shade below the likes of Gino,Ruggedman,M.I and even Ill bliss with catchy hook and nous!

It's like playground diss. . . . .If u want to battle, go for the kill. . . .
Jeeez, maybe i am too used to Canibus, Eminem and Nas spewing spine shattering disses with poetical brilliance.
I am not even professional but gosh, i would kill modenine.[/quote]Mode 9 is good no doubt but that diss track is bland and laced with too much irrelevantly personalised diss.
He's done better in the past with indirect jabs at Rugged until this over-kill,yet his fans will be so fast to tell you it's the best diss track in the world.Whatever happen to "90% of your fans walk on high heel" and 90% of your fans doenst exist" kinda diss.

But really i still do not agree with some of your points on Mode, dude his lyrically endowed, and you sayin he cant rap without pidgin is a misnomer. He doesnt even rap in pidgin till now!
Music/Radio › Re: Review Of Modenine's Album: Emphasis On Track 22:death Blow by kaypumpin2(m): 2:46pm On Dec 18, 2008
@jay blvd

Nice one there.I also find every part you mentioned funny and ridiculous.Rich and skinny doesn't always go like bonnie and kay grin

So much for been a lyricist.I know Mode could do better, but he getting personal made the whole track what it is:WATERY.

The best diss i think he made were not even on track 22,he made mention of Rugged's name in mathematical sege(he called him Micheal actually) and also the jabs in Spartan were better. Also said Olu maintain is richer than Rugged,y not he's richer than Rugged,it's kinda ludicrous.

@Sauron

Mode wasn't the one that said this:Heavy Jacket, Timberland boots and Denim pants??Only yabbed Rugged for donning head warmer in the blazing sun.
You need to listen to the track though to acknowledge his folly.
