The meteoric rise in U.S. oil production has ended, easing a global glut and driving a rebound in crude prices from below $50 a barrel, according to crude trader and hedge fund manager Andrew J. Hall.

Oil production from Texas to North Dakota peaked at almost 10 million barrels a day in February and has been falling since then, Hall said in a letter Friday to investors in Astenbeck Capital Management LLC, his commodities hedge fund. A drastic reduction in drilling rigs is starting to shrink U.S. oil output, according to U.S. government data cited by Hall.

That’s helped drive a 36 percent rally in the past six weeks, and prices will continue to rise because it will be harder for producers to ramp up than it was to cut back, Hall said in his letter. Lower crude prices have also boosted demand, while the risk of supply disruptions across the Middle East is growing amid sectarian tensions.

“We have now reached a turning point,” Hall wrote. Growing demand and supply pullbacks “rendered all the doomsday forecasts self-defeating.”

West Texas Intermediate, the U.S. benchmark crude, settled at $59.15 a barrel Friday, marking a 3.5 percent rise for the week.

Astenbeck funds were up more than 10 percent through April, and gained 10 percent in 2014 even as oil fell by more than half, according to people familiar with its performance, who declined to be identified because the information was not public.

Boko Haram militants attacked troops from Niger on an island base in Lake Chad, the government said on Saturday, in a raid believed to have taken a heavy toll on the army.

"At dawn on April 25, fighters from the terrorist group Boko Haram riding motorised canoes attacked the island of Karamga, a position northwest of of the town of Bosso held by our defence and security forces," the ministry of defence said.

"Operations are ongoing with the support of partners to counter the ambitions of this terrorist group," the ministry added in a statement broadcast on television.

The ministry did not indicate if there were any casualties as a result of the raid.

An official from Diffa, the capital of the southeast, however warned the death toll was "very heavy in the ranks of the Nigerien army," without providing further details.

State television reported that Niger's President Mahamadou Issoufou had called a meeting of the national security council after the Islamists' attack.

Because most Pentecostals and Prayers warriors do NOT believe in Jesus. They will continue to preach and pray with old Jewish mantra from the Old Testament to support their arguments and subsequent long prayers.

You have quoted Jesus response to long prayers, this is totally ignored by my so-called prayer warriors.

Everything depends on the extent of your spiritual knowledge and attainment. Long prayer is necessary when the minister of the gospel or child of God is preparing her/himself in solitude. When ministering, or handling a problem, in the public, prayer should be very short. In fact, it should be more of decreeing (Job 22:28). The decree will be done if you built up enough divine power in you while you prepared in solitude.
