Say NO TO 13% Derivation. !!

If some Southerners cant accept the demand of some to have 100% control over their lands, then NO TO RESOURSE CONTROL, NO TO 13% derivation !

You cant eat your cake & have it. Control your oil & revoke the licenses of Westerners & Norherners...while Westerners & Northerners control their lands & then chase you out of their lands at will. !

Its as simple as that.
What do you mean? At the right time, we will control our resources and there is nothing anyone of you will do about it.

PoliticsUmana Accuses Akpabio Of Attempt On His Life, associates by kel4soft(op): 3:52pm On Jul 07, 2014
A former Secretary to the Government of Akwa
Ibom State and governorship aspirant in the 2015
governorship elections in the State Umana Okon
Umana has asked the National Human Rights
Commission (NHRC) to investigate attempts on
his life allegedly by agents of the Akwa Ibom
State Governor, Godswill Akapbio.
In a petition to the commission written by his
lawyer, Uzoma Ibegbulem Umana said his political
associates and people helping him to actualise
his ambition to be governor were being terrorised.
He cited many victims of assassination and
people that were kidnapped and released after a
ransom had been paid purportedly on the orders
of the governor and urged the commission to
investigate the petition.
He also accused the Akwa State Governor of
attempts on his life and that of his family ahead of
the 2015 general election.
Umanna said the petition became necessary in
order to stave off the impending breaches of his
human rights or assassinations of perceived
political opponents of Akpabio.
He said there was reasonable cause for the
intervention of the commission just as he
catalogued incidents of the said assassinations for
the intervention of the body.
The petitioner alleged that "Chief Sunny Udom, the
Director-General of the leading governorship
aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, Umana Okon Umana
was recently the target of political assassination
in his office.
"He held a press conference on Thursday, May 8,
2014 where he highlighted the fact that one of the
assassins lost a finger in the process of
indiscriminate gun shots.
"Some security agencies to which the incident
had been reported, had dismissed the reports as
mere robbery as though deserves any
glorification.
"Mr. Albert Ukpanah, a well known opponent of
Governor Akpabio's 2015 Senate ambition was
strangled to death in his residence in Abak, Akwa-
Ibom State on March 5, 2014.
"So far, anxious political associates and his family
members are still waiting for answers and fear
that like past political assassinations in Akwa-
Ibom State, it might be business as usual.
Meanwhile the state Commissioner for Information
and Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, has
described the allegations as “wicked lies”
propagated to hoodwink unsuspecting members
of the public into believing things that do not
exist.
Umanah said the state government would have
ignored the bare-faced falsehood and blackmail,
contained in the said petition, which was aimed to
taint and tarnish the hard-earned image, integrity
and reputation of Akpabio, but for the imperative
to save the public from being misled.
According to the commissioner, “the catalogue of
purported victims of political assassinations and
kidnappings cited in the petition, are merely
recycled false allegations, some of which Umana,
then as Secretary to the State Government, had
absolved the government of complicity and which
police investigative report of November 25, 2011,
endorsed by then Commissioner of Police
Solomon Arase, covering a gamut of the cases
listed in the petition, cleared the governor and
other officials of the state of any involvement in
the said crimes.
He urged the public to discountenance the said
petition, which was merely vindictive politics,
taken too far and lacking in factual substance. W
“W charge the political class to refrain from
comments and concocting fictitious allegations,
which are capable of undermining peace and
security in our state, even as we approach the
critical 2015 general election.” he said

PoliticsPDP Lawmakers Hold Plenary In Edo Assembly by kel4soft(op): 3:44pm On Jul 07, 2014
The Edo State House of Assembly crisis took a
new twist on Monday morning when the Peoples
Democratic Party lawmakers in the Assembly
gained entry into the Anthony Enahoro Assembly
Complex and held a plenary.
The lawmakers, which included the impeached
Deputy Speaker, Festus Ebea, who acted as
Speaker, and three suspended members, sat in
front of the entrance to the chamber.
It was gathered that the lawmakers had converged
at the Assembly complex as early as 7am, with a
mace and a Sergeant at Arms, overheard
exclaiming, “Mr. Speaker” repeatedly as the
“House” rose.
Ebea, while briefing newsmen after the sitting of
the four members, said the lawmakers had
resolved that the renovation in the Assembly
Complex was illegal.
He said, “It did not go through due process. It did
not pass through my table, as the Chairman of the
Committee on Tenders Board.”
He also stated that the Speaker, Uyi Igbe, and
other principal officers of the House, whom they
had suspended, should be prevented from making
withdrawals from the Assembly’s account.
Ebea said the House had further asked Governor
Adams Oshiomhole to pay the outstanding
entitlements of the recalled teachers and
instructed the 18 local government chairmen to
forward their receipts of cash disbursements to
the House, to ascertain why “most of the local
governments failed to meet up with their financial
obligations”.
A heavy presence of security operatives was
noticed around the Assembly, causing traffic
gridlock on major roads around the building.

PoliticsPolicemen Storm Edo Assembly, Teargas Speaker, Beat Up Workers by kel4soft(op): 5:46pm On Jul 05, 2014
Pandemonium ensued yesterday at the Edo State
House of Assembly as more than 50 mobile
Policemen in a commando fashion, invaded the
Edo State House of Assembly beating and chasing
away workers doing renovation work at the
complex.
The policemen who were led by Florence Joseph,
an Assistant Superintendent of Police [ASP] also
allegedly tear gassed the Speaker, Uyi Igbe,
threatening to shoot him and other lawmakers
who were there to supervise the renovation work.
She was further alleged to have disarmed Police
Orderlies of the APC lawmakers, leaving that of
PDP lawmakers who were also there to register
their displeasure over the renovation work at the
assembly.
Speaking on the matter, the suspended Deputy
Speaker, Festus Ebea said the renovation work
was unnecessary as according to him, it all
amounts to waste of public funds.
He said as the chairman of the House Assembly
Tenders Board Committee, he ought to have been
aware that complex needed renovation, adding the
roof was just changed last year and as such does
not need to be changed.
But addressing the media, the assembly
committee chairman on Information, Youths and
Sports, Kabiru Adjoto put the blame of Police
invasion on the doorstep of the PDP, who he said
resolved to destabilise the state and the House of
Assembly.
His words: “The PDP had threatened yesterday
that their members will sit at the assembly. Last
week, The renovation work informed our
relocating to the old House of at Government
House. The workers were working and more than
50 mobile policemen entered the assembly and
beat hell out of the workers.
“All the assembly staffs were ordered to lie down.
The question is who the police are serving. The
police commissioner and AIG Zone 5 said they
don't know where the policemen who invaded
here came from. These policemen were led by
one Florence Joseph, an ASP.
“She tear-gassed Mr. Speaker and they pointed
guns at everybody. The DCP came in and was
helpless. He cannot even give his junior officers
order to leave. Over the years, PDP has been
known for political thuggery. We are going to
defend our ground to the ground.

'After some members of Edo House of Assembly relocated to Government House where they tried to impeach the Deputy Speaker. The State Government has pulled the Assembly roof where they are claiming they are renovating the complex.'

The above is AIT summary of renovation work going at Edo House of Assembly complex. This is really a poor mans SaharaReporters feat. I think AIT should as a matter of fact consult SR on how to twist facts.

Just recently they (AIT) addressed Bipi as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly despite a court order restraining him.

One question: how much was paid to this once neutral media station that they are making NTA look as an Anti-Government Station?

This may not be unnconnected to him floating his son to contest for the Chairmanship position under the platform of PDP since Akarolo the incumbent is seeking for another term in office under APC.

Beside Nmeruikini has already left Gov. Amaechi since last year, it was just a matter of time before he drop his resignation letter.

In another development, I learnt Farah Dagogo has now join APC to contest for the RSHA bye election at Degema constituency coming up later this year.

Sincere 9gerian: Now that APC have significant numbers in the house of reps, they should invite all the relevant agencies and examine how the figures were reconciled and seek for answers to all the relevant questions. That is the beauty of the check and balances in a democracy.

But if you ask me, the solution to all these confusion is complete removal of fuel subsidy. If Ghana could do it, why not Nigeria?
Your last statement sums it up but, how do we trust this government if it keeps been insincere to us. The subsidy reinvestment scheme, the palliatives etc.

Quite unfortunate

I will never stop advocating for removal of fuel subsidy. Ghana has already done the needful. But tribal and negative politics has stalled the needful in Nigeria.
You should have ignored the thread if your respond was to talk about a subsidy that was never paid. Who pays subsidy? NNPC or PPRCA?.

Sincere 9geria, I don't think you voted for GEJ in 2011, maybe you are just an opportunist that find your way closer to him. I will tell you, all my expectation of him jailing and chasing out criminals in our system when he won in 2011 has been cut short.
