First I'll advice you to stop driving that death trap, then find a good mechanic/rewire to take proper look at the car.

Catalyst converter can be changed in a space of 2 hours if done by expert. I can say this cause this matter keep popping up in most of the mechanic workshop around my area. Recently, a mechanic was caught at night trying to steal the catalyst converter of a car that was brought to a spray painter workshop close by. These mechanics that engage in this bad practice are evil and deserves nothing but jail time.
Yes a catalytic converter can be replaced in just 2 hours but it's impossible to remove it, empty it and fill it with those guard wires and return them back to the car in just 2 hours. That's almost a day job.

cheesy

Are you sure that wasn't how you bought it?
And if it was done by someone else, the person is envying you.
I later concluded that it was probably done at the dealership where I bought it.
Car Talk / Look What They Did To My Catalytic Converter! by Kelvin30286063(m): 8:20am On Apr 08, 2023
So it's been a while since I last posted in the car section. That is because I have found a new love and I'm just enjoying my new found love for motorcycles.
But I still want to share something that happened to me a few months ago so that you guys can learn a few things from it.

You all know I bought a 2012 ZDX early last year. The car has been amazing so far. Infact it has opened my eyes to a few things I don't know about cars. One of which is that if you have a good car, you may forget the road to your mechanic's workshop πŸ˜‚
Apart from oil change (which I only do every 3 months when the warning shows up) I don't do anything else.
That was my joy until about 3 months ago when I suddenly saw that a check engine light came up on my dash. I've never had check engine light so I immediately check the info screen and it says Check Emission System.
I literally panicked cos we all know how stubborn that problem is. Infact I've that problem on my other car and it never got resolved until now even though I threw a lot of money at it at one time.
So I went to a very big auto repair company here in Akure and complained about the issue. At first I was worried that it's something to do with the fact that someone bumped me from behind at a checkpoint recently but it shouldn't be cos I checked and there was no issue with my exhaust or bumpers.
Long story short, after an exhausting check with machines and physical inspections, they concluded that my catalytic converter is not there anymore. I laughed so hard cos if there is no catalyst in the car, I will have check engine light long before now. But the mechanic insisted that we take out the catalysts and check them. So I gave them the go ahead. My car people, you won't believe what we saw inside my catalytic converters

This people filled the catalyst with bokoharam wires. They filled it so much that it didn't trigger check engine light until it later did. And when my car was having slow pick up, I thought it was because of the cats. I didn't know it was because the exhaust can't breath well.
ONLY GOD CAN SAVE US FROM THIS PEOPLE.

I tried to trace who could have done it but I couldn't pinpoint anyone cos I don't remember ever leaving my car at a mechanic for so long for that to be done. That job must have taken two straight days to do!
At the end, I had to spend 450k on complete tokunbo catalytic converters cos somehow the car didn't work fine without them.

My conclusion is that they did this at the dealership where I bought the car. So my people, even if there is no check engine light or Check Emission System on the car you want to buy, don't conclude that the catalysts are okay. These people are pure evil.

Una too like wahala for this country. We see UN military vehicles all the time here in Ondo state. They travel in convoy of 20 to 30 and they always cause traffic on highways when they travel but we don't say anything cos I guess Ondo people are educated enough to know that Nigeria is a major player in the UN defense program.

height 40mm
Width 44m
Internal diameter 12mm.

You have a beautiful bike there
Bro, another question I've been meaning to ask is how do you record videos with clear audio on your bike. I have this problem of wind making the audio recording of my videos defective.

That's so kind of you bro. Thank you.
I checked the dimensions and it doesn't match mine but I already placed an order for a matching filter on Aliexpress. That Aliexpress is our saviour in this country I tell you. I would have said Amazon but shipping cost security fee is always too much.
I bought most of the modifications for my bike on Aliexpress.

Not that long, usually not more than 4week. If you had ordered 4wks ago you would have it by now.

You can check local motorcycle parts stores too, but be sure of the exact fit of filter.

What is the model of your bike?

Sure I know the fit, I do my oil change myself, it's not rocket science actually. Thanks bro. Mine is a beginner's bike, CBR 250R. Just 300cc but I'm currently negotiating with dealer to buy the CBR 1000R with about 1000cc cos I feel I'm experienced enough to handle bigger motorcycle now.

Just so you know Redmi is actually easier to find,as long as your location is on,you can find it anywhere using another phone
Except you don't even need location or anything on with Samsung to find it. Even if it gets wiped or deleted, as long as it's ever turned on, you'll find your Samsung phone and Google map will lead you to the exact location. I fact, you can remotely wipe, lock, delete and make it ring when there is no Sim in it and the ringing won't stop no matter what the person press until you stop it from your end.
I really don't need to talk about this. There is no argument here.

Dude, it seems you don't know much about Redmi and Xiaomi phones.

One of their major USPs is security. They have a very robust security platform which makes locating stolen phones quite easy. I'm not sure that even Samsung can beat them in that regard.

Apart from tracking, the Mi cloud/Account makes it quite easy for you to remotely manipulate and render your stolen Redmi phones useless, in the hands of a thief.

You don't think samsung can even beat them when it comes to security? lol
You're funny
For your info, I have a Redmi here at home, it's my family emergency phone incase something happens but I can't even use it cos the UI is shit.

Don't think you can successfully track it but I won't be so sure. If it's a Samsung, I can bet you can. I actually lost my Samsung S20 recently and I successfully tracked and located it on my other Samsung. It was easy and straight forward but all these Redmi, Tecno phones no get try.

kenedyx:
I got a huge contract through my brother's company.

The contract is securely in my possession now and I've been fully paid. Initially, the plan was for my bro to supply me the materials

But the issue now is the quotation he's giving me is way higher than what I'm getting elsewhere.

I've asked him to beat down his price but he's adamant. I plan on sidelining him if he doesn't do the needful.

Guys any thoughts on this?
Welcome to the world of contractors. I have a man that sources contracts for me. He's very influential so he is very important to me and my company. There's a lot I don't like about him but for someone that has made me millions of naira, whatever he wants, I give him. Eat and let everyone else eat is the order of the business or nobody will give you contracts anymore.
If you're not happy with your brother's quotations, find a way to increase your profit from your delivery. At the end of the day, if you cut him off, you don't know the connect he will have in future. Maybe a million dollars contract and by then you'll still cry to us that your brother had a chance to recommend you for a big contract but he didn't call you.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: 300k Per Month: Is This Pharmacy Job In Ogun State Real? by Kelvin30286063(m): 1:45pm On Jan 17, 2023
NNtv:
My friend living in Ogun state told me to send my details for a job opportunity in a pharmacy company that's recruiting. Although, he said the company has not made official announcement for recruitment that its just a backdoor offer since his friend is working there.

After sending my details one month ago, he called me on Saturday that I have been picked for this position. However, they are requesting that a have up to 500k in my account. When I asked him what they need such money for, he said they will use it to process my international passport, accommodation and other stuffs.
I requested to know what is the need of international passport for a pharmacy company work in Ogun state, he said that workers are sponsored to Dubai after working for 6 months.
I became confused because I have never heard of something like that. Also, what I have is only O'level certificate, and he said I have been picked for a job that pays 300k? Can that be possible?

Comrades, does a company request 500k for international passport and accommodation before employing someone?

And you're still calling him or her friend?

I know very well, just saying it will go a long way to support what she has and most lawyers who are sure of a victory in a case like this will only collect initial deposit cos they know they will get their balance from the damages once case is won.

I am surprised there's a hospital in Nigeria that can even care for premies born at 26 weeks.

Even at that, the 19m bill is outrageous.

Kilode?
No it's not, just be happy you live in Nigeria. My sister had twin in the US last year, they were both premature but they survived. Her bill after everything was $120,000. She sent the bill to us and na we come dey help her find money. In naira, that's almost 100 million. Eventually she opted for a payment program that allows her to pay the money over a period of 3 years. We don't have that in Nigeria.

We enjoy two things in Nigeria that people don't appreciate enough. Cheap healthcare and cheap education.
If you know how much debts people in US and UK always have after university education after collecting so many school loans, some of them will spend the most part of their lives paying back school loans.
I know our health care section and education section may not be up to their standard but trust me, we should still be grateful sometimes.
