Philfit: People residing in Abuja I just got information that someone was posted to the Abuja consulate for interview. All he did was to put his location as Abuja when booking. Edit: He later said he booked under category A and and said yes he has scholarship even without scholarship, hoping to explain to the Vo on the day of his interview What day did he get? Cos I'll like to keep up with this story. For saying he has a scholarship when he doesn't cos I have friends who booked that category A too. Make we see as e de Go |

olamitodotun14: I'm currently in a fix right now. Just applied for appointment at the embassy but did booking with my expired passport and I'm yet to receive my renewed passport which should be around next week. Now I was just informed that my passport number will likely change( I wasn't aware about this) as against the one I used in booking appointment. What do you guys think I should do? The passport expired 2017. Should I cancel the appointment or mail them and explain. Nothing to worry about. Just go with both passports. Don't cancel and rebook cos there are a lotttttttttttttttt of people who booked since last week and haven't gotten dates yet. So just go with both passports on ur date. And show them to your VO. normally, ur new passport would carry all old information. Someone here has done that before, and is currently in DE |

Ellaheart1: I applied for the international masters program in geology. I wrote a test but it was online, the test was basically to formulate a possible 6-page thesis proposal for a potential masters project in my field of geology. They gave me a week(including research/reading time) to do this, at first I panicked but all went well eventually.
From what I've heard, LMU is quite notorious for rigorous admission procedures but keep pressing on and I'm sure all will turn out well. Good luck on the results of your exam! Oh wow that's serious. Well I got admission in TUM already so I'm not really putting my mind on lmu anymore. But I guess we'll sha see in Munich |

Ellaheart1: I was told by my course coordinator that LMU's international office has started sending admission letters, within the next week or two they should arrive but it depends on when you applied, your department and the complexity of your paperwork. To give you an idea, I applied since February, sent all documents for checking around early April, and only got my admission this month. Not sure about Siegen but all the best, hold on just a bit longer and I'm sure you will soon have cause to rejoice. What course in lmu did you get? Ecology just wrote their exam at Goethe institute last week. Epidemiology still pending. Did you write exam for yours? |

A bag of garri, dried Egusi, palmoil, salt, Ogbonor, dried fish and okporoko, Abacha etc (I for put ogiri shaa but make I just leave am to avoid public disgrace) coupled with all these shoes and clothes go near 70k.

These are the basics, bring as much as you can!. The red oil sold in African stores is trash in my opinion .
While cooking Nigerian soups here, you can always use spinach as your vegetable. Abeg eh, this dried bitter leaf, won't they think it's weed and detain person Lol |

Missmi: To be safe, since the instructions are so confusing, I'd advise most people to go through category B (unless you have zero doubt in your mind that you belong to A) especially with this Paulinus we keep hearing about. This new system may make him even more annoying. At least with category B, even if you were supposed to go through Category A, you'll still be granted entry for your appointment. Yes but category A is treated with high priority. Meaning them go fit get dates before B are considered. Thats why everyone wants A |

I saw the question asked by basalt on can someone save up-to 10k euros a year. Almost Everyone who replied him were either mean or trying to make him look stupid. It's totally wrong. Someone say they want to jump very high. Instead of you to tell him he shouldn't cos he head go nack ceiling or he may be cut by the fan, you tell the person he shouldn't jump Except e wan die or he shouldn't jump cos nobody has jumped that high. No offence, all I saw were pessimists. Now, my childhood friend schools in Bavaria which has the toughest educational system in Germany as many people have confirmed. He works Two jobs. One pays 450 euros, another pays 960 euros after tax. He lives in a 250 hostel room. Pays 90 euros insurance, spends 60euros on food as he still has food stuff and goes out once in a while. Can you see that he used just about 450 euro? He still has 960 euros. He goes to school very well sef. Just that he doesn't have babe there and he drinks once in a while. Save that 960 X 12 months? It's over 11k So whoever is being pessimistic and trying to weigh that basalt guy down, keep your lack of ambition to yourself. Finally, there's a saying "if people don't laugh or shout at your dreams, they aren't big enough. This example I gave is real life One. He's been in Bavaria for two years now. Just to add, let's do a calculation for you if you're still in doubt. If you have a 450 euros job. It pays 10 euros per hour. You work 11 hours every Saturday. That's about 450 a month. If you have another job that pays 12 euros per hour. You work 5 hours a day Monday to Friday that's about 1200 a month. Let's say they take 300 tax. You have 900 a month. If you pay 300 rent. 90 insurance and 60 food. That's 450 a month. Your student card covers your semester transport ticket. The remaining 900 X 12 is 10,800 euros. Let's say you use 800 euros for semester fee every year. You still have 10k euros! So what are you guys saying? For the fact you haven't done it, doesn't make it impossible. I've seen people do it. Everybody ginger no be the same. Shalom! (in honorable seyis voice ) |

hadassaheke: Getting a job that pays that amount is possible, especially during the holidays. Get here first and you'll find out about tax and the rest.
As for job sites and registrations, there are some sites and in some cases, you only need to send an email but you also need a German address. I'll advise you take it one step at a time because even if you register now, you won't be able to work until you arrive here and also get your work permit, address and residence permit.
And yes, it is cheaper to get a house in Freising and in Garching since our semester tickets covers them, but you'll have to decide if the long travel distance (between 30 to 40 minutes or thereabout) would be an issue for you or not. Like I said earlier, one step at a time. Alright dear. Thanks a lot for all the information. I sincerely appreciate. Looking forward to coming to Munich . |

hadassaheke: 1. Uhmmm, it all depends on the type of job, but you should be able to find something to keep body and soul going. 2. My campus is in Garching, but I live in Munich (Its just 40 minutes away by train (which the semester ticket covers) 3. Accommodation is one of the problems we have in Munich, so I'll advise you apply as soon as you can to studentenwerk. Try contacting some Nigerians here and check online too on wg 'gesucht', but do not pay for a room without proper verification as there are a lot of scammers out there. Alright thanks so much dear. Hope you don't mind me plenty questions. This information is priceless. About the job, is it possible to get a part-time job that will keep body and soul going for €1000 a month? And are there any special application process or places people register for job updates, availability etc? And how heavy is tax? Then for accommodation, is it best and cheaper to live in the outskirt like garching or freising and come to work Or school in Munich? My campus is in Munich And please hope you don't mind if I contact you too when I get stuck? |

Philfit: Very nice analogy! It can be more and better . Wikipedia is correct but I think it’s not the same every where, I know someone who’s gross is about 48k , meaning 4K every month but his net salary after tax is about 3450. That means his tax is about 550 euros per month. I don’t know how that tax system works but I feel it varies place to place Biko what city is he. So I can apply for admission there? Or look for work there after school? |

That 35 is quite rare tho But STEM RESIDENCE permit is low cause of lack of professionals in that sector in Germany Abeg is this 35k after-tax? Or before? spicyuzo: Hello everyone, I have a quick question. Everyone takes their docs to the embassy for validation, how about Notaries? Is there something unique about getting it done at the embassy? I live in Turkey and there are Notaries around, the embassy in far from my city so I was wondering if my docs will be rejected for using a notary.
Also, I want to apply for an Msc (2nd) in Business Analytics or Data Science. I'm currently on the brink of completing my thesis and I have my transcripts from my current Msc, will I still need to submit my Msc degree(note I don't have it yet), or should I just apply with my BSc as my latest degree (creating a huge gap between 2013 and now).
Finally, I get the message ( "For this study request, the university has not yet approved the application phase. Therefore you can not create an application yet" When I try to create an application, I think it's cos the schools are yet to commence application cos I checked their website, I was just wondering should I forward my docs to uniassist so they can start processing while I wait for the application to start on the 15th? I don't know if anyone replied you but let me say the ones I know to the best of my knowledge. 1. Most schools accept notary public certification. Only few schools insist on embassy certification like FAU and Jmu Wurzburg. So your notarized copy would fly 90% of the time. Please go ahead. 2. Yes some schools accept transcript before completion. Just check the requirements and possibly send them an email to confirm. The distance between ur Bsc and now doesn't matter In most cases except it's for daad scholarship. 3. Uniassist usually makes the school or course you're applying for available a week before application period starts or the day it starts. So kindly Wait or check constantly. Good luck |
