CelebritiesRe: Linda Ikeji Reacts to N240M Allegation by Kennydoc(m): 10:09pm On Dec 14, 2015
natasha:
Whilst I dont love Linda I admire her work ethics. I know for a fact during the election period she posted on her blog that reps from BOTH APC & PDP were approaching her to run ads and sponsored posts with big money but she didnt know whether to accept or not.She eventually did and we saw a huge push on adverts from both major parties so even in a court of law, they cannot charge her with anything.Companies pay several millions for 30 second ads in the superbowl, Xfactor finals, UEFA CL finals because of the audience market/numbrrs.Stella dimoko did the same, Bella Naija did the same....she provided a platform for which she was paidSo pls lets be factual Furthermore the reason why its more expensive to advertise on Facebook than your local newspaper is due to the subscribers hence linda would probably charge more for ads (rightly so) Last point .....if GEJ is found to have spent 50million of food supplies for children in JC penny or on a BMW, you dont go and charge BMW for crime....why because they provided a service.

am very pleased she has released a statement to this allegation.

As nigerians, we must learn to be genuinely pleased when someone does well or succeed in life. And just maybe, the gods/God/Universe might smile on us.
If you can't be happy for someone, then dont be sad or jealous rather be indifferent. ?......or better still learn their success story and apply it.

We are all witnesses to the fact that linda isnt an overnight story.....she worked and put in years and effort 2 her passion. Let us as youths celebrate a real success story.....no silverspoon...juju things...., sugardaddy things....afrocandy things ...just hardwork irrespective of your tribe or religious beliefs.....

When I say stable i mean uninterupted also i mean a situation where by you can never have a flat battery for even year. There are times i visit my home town just for a visit and I might end up staying for weeks, during those periods come rain or shining there won't be any power outage. It has been like that for many years according to my dad. Enough said, am talking about the largerst local government area in Nigeria, Akoko edo in Edo state. If you doubt me just take a visit there for high phone users your power bank will be useless.
Please how is Akoko Edo the largest local government area in Nigeria? Is it in terms of landmass or population? If you were referring to landmass, is it larger than Ovia South West or Orhiomwon LGs, and if in terms of population, is it more populous than Oredo, all in Edo State? Let's not even talk about other large or populous LGs in states like Niger and Taraba, or Lagos respectively. My guy, stop making unsubstantiated statements.

Meanwhile, the only place in Nigeria with very stable (constant) power supply is Bonny, and possibly a few other places in the Niger Delta.
The situation you described is not even up to what we have here in Maitama and other parts of Abuja.

walexwalata:
everything to some people is politics in Nigeria. what is wrong in us having the logo what it is? If you think with your religion, you must have your way in everything in Nigeria, then you are not fair and you cannot realize your expectation. How would you see it if the Muslims too ask for holiday on Fridays to allow them go to mosque like you people do on Sunday? You diplomatically argue, mend and manipulate issues to favour yourselves rather than allowing God to have His way. We understand the basis of your question. ''no be today''

Muslims are the best of mankind!
Guy, there is no justifiable reason for it except for the Islamic dominance and bigotry prevalent in many spheres of our national existence. English is our lingua franca not Arabic.
You asked about holiday on Friday forgetting that even your Quran doesn't prescribe holiday (or rest) for you Muslims on your day of worship. I've heard an Imam preach on it before. Apart from that, our colonial masters gave us the kind of system they operate in their country, and since it was convenient for you Muslims, you keyed into it. It wasn't because you guys only wanted peace, but simply because there was no basis for raising up dust there.

PoliticsRe: Yahaya Bello Wins Kogi Governorship Election by Kennydoc(m): 1:22pm On Dec 06, 2015
takedat:
I beg top disagree with you. Faleke can claim the supplementary election that brought Bello in is null and void since he has written to INEC and APC to remove his name as a deputy governorship candidate for the supplementary election. INEC and the APC cannot force a candidate to run in an election, and since one cannot run in an election without a complete ticket it makes the election null and void.

Faleke can dispute INEC's claim based on the PVC's distributed and the difference between the votes of Audu/Faleke's and Wada's. Yes, the electoral act only recognises the registered voters but Faleke's legal team will challenge INEC to explain who is a 'Qualified Voter' on an election day. If INEC's argument only supports 'registered voters and not of the use of PVC's, INEC would have shot itself in the leg meaning that elections conducted using PVC's are meaningless and unconstitutional and as such INEC cannot force the electorates to produce a PVC before voting since what they recognize is the registered voters only.

Thirdly, can you claim Bello has fulfilled all the constitutional requirements? Did Bello take part in the more than 2,500 polling units where elections were concluded in November? Isn't that part of the constitutional requirement?

Lastly, when the returning officer for the elections was returning Bello as the winner, he did not say APC alone but said Alhaji Yahya Bello of the APC haven polled the highest number of votes and satisfied all constitutional requirements is thereby returned elected'? Did Yahya Bello in actual sense pull the highest number of votes?
Guy, you nailed it! Oh my God! That was an awesome write up there!

You guys keep making a comparison to Scotland but what you fail to realize is that the Scottish Independence movement is made up of intellectuals, academics and politicians. They provided evidence of how their country will be constituted if they got independence, from oil treaties with Norway, decommissioning of nuclear facilities. They had several bases covered before asking for independence. The Scottish people saw evidence of how their country will function if they leave the union.

It is not like Ipod run by an illiterate that goes on radio calling for the massacre of Nigerians and calling Leaders names and asking for his supporters to murder a well know Nigerian Pastor. He was even caught on video asking for money to buy arms. This is an unprofessional illiterate with no common sense.

The Scottish spent years trying to convince their people, they then formed a party - the SNP. After decades of campaigning, they got majority of political seats in the Scottish Parliament. Even after that, it took them years to convince the UK government to agree to a referendum. The whole process took over 50 years. It is a separation and not a tea party.

When Igbos are serious, they will vote for a party that wants Biafra independence, they will make them senators, HORs and governors. After that they can negotiate with the Nigerian state for a referendum.

You just dont wake up one morning and start shouting Referendum. It will take decades of negotiations and talks.
I may not like your usual stance on NL but for once, I agree you made some sense.

I'm Igbo but I don't really fancy this Biafran agitation. I believe that a prosperous Nigeria will do the Igbos better than Biafra.

My major annoyance with Nigeria is the injustice especially from the North. How can the same region that is educationally disadvantaged continually have more of their people in the civil service, political positions and the entire nation's work force?

Imagine that NW and NE recently got 25 and 26 Comptrollers of Nigerian Customs respectively, while the SE got only 4, yet the SE has at least double the enrolment into universities than either of NE or NW. This is itself is gross injustice.
Go through the entire Federal Civil service, and a similar situation keeps playing itself.
For how long shall this cheating continue, and we keep bearing it?

Fulani militants will enter people's villages and slaughter indigenes on their own soil, yet nobody can challenge them.
There are just a lot of ills going on in this nation, and many of them stem from the inability of northerners to treat other Nigerians equally.

I would have loved if we (Igbos) share the same country with only the SS, Middle belt and Yorubas. The country would have been a lot better and more peaceful than it is now. Even the Yorubas are being marginalised, though they are bearing it more than Igbos.

The best solution to the whole mess we're experiencing is a reversal to regional government. Let each region or geopolitical zone decide their fate and govern themselves, and let powers at the centre be reduced to the barest minimum. Nigeria will be a lot better, as it will spur competition among regions.

May God help this nation, even as I pray that there shall be no war, in Jesus name.

Check d trees at d front n d back of d mosque, cant u see their leaves got burnt? Or u wnt to tell me d smoke from d kiosk got to d tree at d back?
Following ur logic, how come the dark portion was just at the top of the wall, as the bottom of the dark segment is normal? What kind of fire in a building selects only the top of the walls which don't even have any wood work, and spares adjacent segments?
Did you see that the ground floor of the mosque which is in use is intact, while only the upper part (first floor) which is still under construction has that dark mark?

You asked what the Governor went to do there? Is that not what a responsible governor will do when a story like that is reported? Isn't it an appropriate move, to go and assess the situation by himself, especially knowing what a backlash from some beasts up north will result into?

And again, he most likely didn't go down to Onitsha just to go and inspect the mosque. He needed to go and see the situation by himself, especially bearing in mind that nine (9) people lost their lives yesterday. So he toured round the town to ascertain the level of damages.

So what are you now agitating for if not the total loose out in the current dispensation caused by your political miscalculation? For 6 years your own occupied the offices of Deputy Senate President, Deputy Speaker, SGF, Minister of Finance /Coordinating Minister of the Nigerian Economy, Ministers of Health, Aviation, Labour, Petroleum (by Marriage), Chief of Army Staff etc yet nobody complained that the Igbos got too much of the Federal Power rations neither did our highly placed brethren improve our lot in terms of development!

Other ethnic groups watched carefully and played their politics towards national relevance while we the Igbos got carried away and played politics of the pocket where semi-illiterate money bags charted the cause for us !

Those who have access to Aso Rock and got fat contracts sustained the lies to hoodwink both Aso Rock Gods and the Igbos. In blind response devoid of any logical reasonings the Igbos put all their fragile eggs in one basket that had lost form and shape to protect them. As the results of those fatal errors set in the same money miss roads are now fanning the ambers of secession as their next meal ticket bargaining chip while the teaming youth they lure with money and lies risk losing everything including their lives for nothing in the end.

Compare the Igbo TAN money bags and/or failed politicians to the likes of Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Femi Otedola who are hardly seen or heard playing partisan talk less of ethno-religious politics! Imagine Dangote gathering the leaders of Northerners in Lagos and imposing political party or candidate in Lagos State politics on them. Such is near impossible! The Igbos have allowed derogatory pocket politics to puncture their natural nobility as a people!

With men of honour and class like Ebitu Ukaiwe, Emeka Anyaoku, Ndubisi Kanu, Ben Nwabueze and others the Igbos should have no business listening to the likes of Ifeanyi Uba (Capital Oil), Chris Uba etc any time they talk politics!
Guy are you aware that you're deceiving yourself? At one point you were addressing Igbos as an outsider, and at another point, you were pretending to be Igbo. Who do you think you will deceive with that?

When some of you talk about this political miscalculation, I see it as sheer stupidity. Should all Nigerians have voted for Buhari in the last elections? If APC had won in all the states, what would have become of opposition politics in this dispensation? Aren't you aware that strong opposition builds a better democracy? If PDP dies completely in the SE&SS, what will be the motivation of APC politician to work, when they know that they will certainly win in the next election? Knowing that majority of APC members were in PDP, won't it be a return to PDP government, only with a different name?
So if all the former PDP members had decamped into APC and PDP completely collapsed as it happened in the North, who would they have been blaming now for the ills of the past administrations?
Can the Northern politicians who were formerly in PDP but now in APC be exonerated from the mistakes of the past, because they are no longer in PDP? Do men like El rufai, Kwankwaso, Atiku, Saraki, Makarfi, Tambuwal etc have any moral right to condemn PDP?

Can't Nigerians choose who to vote again? Must all Nigerians vote along the same line?
In 2011, Jonathan did woefully in the NW, yet they were fully carried along in GEJ's administration. Is that not how politics should be? Why does Buhari hate the SE too much?
In the same March election, SS gave Jonathan majority of his votes, not even SE. Yet Buhari integrated SS very well into his government, but SE has been totally neglected. Apart from the ministers who had to come from all the states, Buhari has not appointed anybody from the SE into any sensitive position in his government. Is that right and fair?

It's like you don't have an MTN line, or you were lucky that ur line wasn't blocked.

I duly registered my line. Even when they started sending messages for customers to go and verify their sim registration, I did, as I had to spend over 2 hours in their office to be attended to. Imagine that after all these, they blocked my line last night. I went to their office in Maitama today, and it was like a market. So many customers were shouting and complaining. Many of them said they were going to port straight to Glo.

MTN will lose so many customers after this mess. I'm very sure of that.
