tobimillar: There is a mark deference between south west and south south... Why do you think PMB is handing over critical sectors to the men from south... Imagine them performing? Imagine then turning Nigeria around? Even the North will eventually have no choice Guy, it doesn't work that way. Politics plays a greater role in party presidential candidature than performance. Northerners don't vote based on performance. They vote to protect their interest by having their men in critical positions. If APC mistakenly presents Amaechi/Fashola in 2019, all PDP will need to do is to present a credible northerner as president, and PDP will take the central government back. Are you too young to understand the basic rudiments of Nigerian politics? |

78 million Naira was obviously a ridiculouslylow amount to be accusing a lagos state governor (over 500bn budget) of but these guys kept at it.
Just anything to drop Fashola to the clueless , corrupt Jonathan level. But it was LASG that brought that up. Even your revered Tinubu didn't want his nomination as a minister. So when you say children of hate, who exactly are you referring to? |

He's holding a position in this government that neither he nor the whole PDP would have dreamt of, so wherein is the ridicule? midolian: Mr. Magu was one of the early recruits into the EFCC by Mr. Ribadu. He is seen by peers as an incorruptible and courageous officer and then made the head of the sensitive EGU, a unit in charge of investigations of senior public officials.
As head of the EGU, some of the investigations Mr. Magu spearheaded include – the role of former Kwara State Governor and serving senator, Bukola Saraki, in the collapse of Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria, and James Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, who was discharged and acquitted by a Federal High Court in Asaba, and later found guilty of similar money laundering charges and jailed in the UK.
Proof that Magu is a Nightmare to the Corrupt
But trouble started for the police officer after the controversial removal of Mr. Ribadu as chairman of the commission in December 2007. The then chairman, Farida Waziri, was uncomfortable with his presence doubting his loyalty to her, sources say
In August 2008, Mr. Magu was accused of illegally keeping case files of top politicians being investigated by the commission. His house in Abuja was searched and his property carted away by operatives of the EFCC acting under the directive of Mrs. Waziri. He was subsequently re-deployed to the police after days of detention with nothing incriminating found against him. He was later suspended from the police, going without salaries for several months. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/5390-corrupt_ex-governors_block_return_of_feared_anti-corruption_oper.html
Following the confirmation of Lamorde as the substantive Chairman of the EFCC, PREMIUM TIMES learnt that he made the return of Mr. Magu to the EFCC a top priority. Both men had worked together at the commission when Mr. Lamorde served as head of operations of the agency.
In a letter written to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on March 19, 2012, and titled “Re: Postings/Transfer and secondments of police officers to the EFCC,” Mr. Lamorde put Mr. Magu as top on the list of police officers he wanted to be deployed to the EFCC.
But when the police boss was to confirm the deployment of the officers, Mr. Magu’s name was conspicuously absent.
...Until the president intervened

With the new Sherrif in town, Nigeria will always get it right. Magu's appointment is a clear sign that Baba is really ready to fight corruption, and to the end. If Buhari was a corrupt leader, the corrupt ones would have through 'magu magu', as they have always done, halted the elevation of Magu to the EFCC chairman. You all can imagine how 'corruption' will be trembling on hearing Magu is the new EFCC chairman.
The fight against corruption has just begun. And 'corruption' itself knows this.. You can quote me anywhere I guess you should pause and give some credit to GEJ. He pulled that through. He was equally concerned about fighting corruption. |

Again, you should understand that the wound of the civil war on Igbos hasn't healed, and that explains the grievance against Hausas and Yorubas. The earlier you guys realise that there is no difference between PDP and APC, the better for us. These earlier moves by Buhari stem from the fact that the country is broke. Politics › Re: How Nigeria Must Deal With Biafra - Cramjones by Kennydoc(m): 12:05pm On Nov 03, 2015 |
cramjones: I have keenly observed the current events that have led to the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the self-proclaimed leader of the Biafran movement. I have mixed reactions to the events that have transpired and have communicated my thoughts to the Nigerian Presidency. I will attempt elucidating my thoughts here.
1. I am of the opinion that the call for Biafra is legitimate: Firstly, Biafra existed before Nigeria was created. It was made up of people with similar cultures and language (with majority tribe being Igbo). It is perfectly legitimate for the original inhabitants of the country to yearn to have back their country and resources under their control. However, I do not believe that Biafra is a viable solution at this time.
2. During the Biafran war it is estimated that at least 1 million people of largely Igbo extraction were killed! This is no doubt in mind a genocide. However, the Nigerian government has made a fundamental mistake by: a. Not recognizing it ever took place, or playing down the number of those that died for political reasons, only serve to fuel violence and the call for secession. b. They have also made a major mistake by not even having a memorial day to remember those that died during the genocide - This action alone will give a sense of belonging and would foster a deepened National unity.
3. If the government does not look into the creation of a true federation whilst implementing its pseudo-federalism, and pretend that a genocide never took place, then the dissolution of Nigeria or even the metastasis of the Biafrian movement becomes inevitable.
4. Despite the premise I have laid out, I still do not think a Biafran state is viable. This is why
i. The Eastern Goverments are fundamentally corrupt; A visit to present day Imo and Abia will attest to the corruption and rot that have plagued the region. These leaders have all FAILED to develop the east with the resources given to them. If they had made the East the "dubai" of Nigeria, everyone including the international community would have taken the cry for Biafra serious. The argument would be if the "Biafran leaders" can develop their region with the "little" resources given them, it is only fair they secede and do even more for their people and their region. However, this is not the case. A Biafran state will only lead to another mini civil war, and a fight for resources and wealth among Biafrans.
ii. Since 1970 when the war ended the geo-political dynamics of the Biafran region has changed. For example the people of Rivers would not want to be part of a country where their individual tribes become a minority. Same will go to Akwa Ibom etc. This will then lead to a disintegration of the original Biafran state, and would lead to a battle for resource control.
iii. If the above happens, Biafra would essentially be a landlocked country, and this can lead to an invasion and fight of Rivers, in order to fight for port control, oil revenue etc. Igbos will definitely need the ports since most of them are international business men, and won't afford to pay regions like Rivers for all the billions of dollars of imports that takes place in the region.
In summary, an eventual Biafran state through a peaceful referendum will lead to a situation worse than South Sundan.
Way forward:
1. President Buhari MUST as a matter of urgency look into the white paper of the national conference and work assidiously with congress to make sure he implements true Federalism.
2. We must as a matter of urgency accept that at least 1 million Igbos where killed and establish a day to remember these precious lives that were gone. We must go a step further to make sure we teach this history to our kids, and not ban it from being tought in schools.
3. If the Federal government treat the Biafra issue with kids gloves, we may have something worse than Boko Haram in our hands.
4. Release Nnamdi Kanu immediately! Sit down with him and lay out your plans to resolve this issue. It would be a disservice to the Igbo people to compare the rise of Boko Haram with this present agitation, but history has thought us that as dynamic and complex Nigeria is, we MUST as a matter of urgency address the agitation of the Biafrans, before it metastasize to a problem bigger than Nigeria. A stitch in time saves nine!
Personally, I have shared these thoughts to my friend and brother Femi Adeshina with the hope that he would communicate this to P.M.B.
It is my hope that this does not destroy our country in our very eyes. First time I will agree with you 100%. |
Politics › Re: Claim that PDP Responsible for 16 Years Of Ruins - Very Logical by Kennydoc(m): 11:32am On Nov 03, 2015 |
PassingShot: I didn't know there was a rejoinder by IbnSultan. If I knew, I wouldn't do this. However, he needs to be educated on logic, philosophy and fallacies. My guy, the issue is beyond the display of logic or philosophy. It's about being sincere with ourselves as a people. You say PDP destroyed Nigeria and I ask, is PDP a human being? Why are you focusing on the party rather than the individuals that make up the party? Obj led Nigeria as a PDP president, but he had his freedom of choice. He had the power to choose either to do right or wrong. His decisions and indecisions weren't a result of party ideology. And let me state it clearly here, there is nothing like party ideology in practical politics. Those words are mere rhetorics except you can prove to me that any party official can mandate the president or governors on how to carry on their administrative affairs. You argue that PDP is a killer and destructive party yet Donald Duke was a governor under PDP and he transformed Cross River State. Sullivan Chime and Chris Ngige were PDP governors of Enugu and Anambra states respectively, and they did excellently well as governors. Even Godswill Akpabio did so much in transforming Akwa Ibom into one of the most beautiful states today. Rotimi Amaechi in his first tenure was a PDP governor and he did very well then. Majority of his wonderful projects were done under PDP. So when you say that party ideology determines the actions and inactions of politicians, what exactly are you referring to? Shehu Shagari's administration was noted for massive corruption before Buhari toppled the government. Please can you tell me the party that was in power in those years? Nobody remembers the party because it's not all about the party, but about the individuals in the party. When you talk about leadership failure, I will agree that it can affect the outcome of government, but leadership failure isn't about party but about the leaders themselves. Audu Ogbeh and Barnabas Gemade were both PDP chairmen in the past. You can't alienate them from the failures of PDP as a party in those years because they are no longer in PDP, cos doing that will mean shifting the blame for their mistakes to those who are currently in PDP today, some of whom were not there when the mess were done. For example, you can't blame Nuhu Ribadu for the ills of PDP over the past 16 years because he's now in PDP, despite that he's barely 2 years in the party, while you hail El Rufai and Kwankwaso as change agents despite that they were in PDP for over 12 out of the 16 years of PDP rule. So in essence, my point is that the focus shouldn't be on the party alone, but on the major players in those years. When we shift our focus to the major actors in those years of misgovernance rather than on the party, then people like El Rufai, Kwankwaso, Amaechi, Atiku, Saraki Obasanjo, Audu Ogbeh, Barnabas Gemade, and a host of other former PDP stalwarts who are active in APC today will stop displaying their arrogance, but rather go and hide their faces in shame knowing that we've not forgotten their history. They should also not be allowed to criticise PDP like they are currently doing, or even be involved in critical decision making in this administration, being that they are part and parcel of the decay of this country. It's only when this is done that we can talk about a true and sincere CHANGE in Nigeria. |

Ioannes: phew. bro, I hope you do better than this at work or school.
first you mentioned the last 16 years right? so which party was in power.
now that most of the actors have left for other parties doesn't mean a thing.
the answer would still be PDP even if PDP had already become a defunct party by the time the question is being asked.
the next logical question would now be: WHO were those in PDP within that period.
are you trying to say that since they are all in APC now so APC misruled Nigeria for the past 16yrs when the party was just formed last year or thereabout
your logic man Guy, let's just be reasonable, okay. The mess Nigeria experienced was never about the party in power, but about the crop of politicians we have had as a country. If it was all about PDP, how come states that have never had PDP governors like Borno, Yobe etc aren't perfect today? How come there are still fraudulent governors in APC like Rochas, Aregbesola who still can't pay salaries despite collecting bail out from the FG? Was PDP also responsible for the massive corruption perpetrated by Shehu Shagari's administration between 1979 and 1983, which led to the inglorious ousting of that government executed by Buhari himself? I know it feels cool for APC members to say that PDP destroyed Nigeria over the past 16years, but knowing that the major actors in those years are currently in APC should make them feel ashamed of themselves too. It wasn't PDP that destroyed Nigeria, but rather members of PDP. If those members are now in APC, then APC shares largely in the guilt. For instance, it's gross stupidity to transfer the blame for the failures of the FG between 1999 - 2007 on Jonathan, simply because Obj is now in APC. That's what is exactly happening now, cos people think of 16 years of PDP rule, and only GEJ comes to mind. GEJ bears the blame for everything. It's so bad that even El Rufai, Kwankwaso, Amaechi etc will come and blame PDP for the mess they themselves caused. These guys should be ashamed of themselves. |

The current NNPC boss, Ibe KaChakwu was appointed by Buhari, the PDP claimed that Ibe Kachuwu was discovered by GEJ. 6 years down d line, GEJ did not appoint him even towards GEJ's last lap of his tenure when he was making last minute appointment rush where every TOM, DICk and HARRY where appointed, GEJ couldn't remember appointing Mr Kachukwu until Buhar came onboard to appoint him only for the PDP through Olisa Metu to go to the media to tell Nigerians how GEJ discovered Mr Kachuwu. Abeg make hear word. TSA account is President Buhari's noble idea. Listen, Nigeria is broke so the FG is desperately trying everything possible to reduce leakages. That is the reason for the speedy implementation of the TSA order. I can bet you that if GEJ were still in power, he would have done so by now. Remember that GEJ initiated and implemented IPPIS, which helped eliminate ghost workers and save the country of billions. The main issue with GEJ's government is that he administered the country when crude price was stable, so like previous administrations, he felt there was money, and didn't see the need for much savings. Even the NGF didn't help matters as they armtwisted him into sharing the money saved from excess crude accounts. By the time the drop in crude price hit them, it was too late to achieve much, especially as electioneering drew closer. I'm not trying to hold brief for GEJ, but we just have to state some facts clearly. |

HungerBAD: So Jonathan is begging?
Jonathan got tired of asking others to beg on his behalf, and decided to go prostrate. Where is that man's dignity?after dragging Nigeria backward, he is now crawling on his belly to Aso Rock to beg, like something the rain dragged in.
President Buhari, please do not listen to his plea's. Did you read this part of the post: Jonathan, who arrived in a black Range Rover, was seen off by Buhari to the front of the venue after the meeting.
They shook hands, and Buhari waited until Jonathan’s car departed. Does it still appear to you like Jonathan went to beg? |

Why are you still behaving as if we are in PDP era? Was Tinubu enjoying immunity as at then despite the fact that SSS, NA, EFCC, ICPC are within your arsenal? You have concrete evidence and you can't head to court: is that not ironical?
Hope you won't head to NTA and AIT this time? I only mentioned Tinubu in passing. The focus however was on Amaechi. Tinubu has been a free man simply because all his successors happened to be his stooges. It's quite unfortunate that Tinubu will die with his corrupt practices still unexposed, because it will take a PDP governor in Lagos to expose Tinubu, and I don't really see PDP winning Lagos anytime soon. Previous governments in this country have been quite unwilling to expose corrupt persons. Jonathan came and continued the practice. I'm happy because APC has taught PDP a lesson on how to deal with the opposition, so when next PDP gets the chance to get into power at the centre, expects heads to roll in the APC. |

Ephemmm: Amaechi chooses to go; his opinion. He chooses not to go; his right. The question how many politicians in Nigeria has been pleased with the decision of a lower court without go ahead for appeal, not to talk of Kangaroo Committee purposely set up to indict Amaechi?
It is high time you wake up from your slumber! Call it Kangaroo committee or not, evidence abounds as to how Amaechi alongside Tinubu bankrolled Buhari's campaign. It was Amaechi that was able to counter Atiku's "dollarization" at APC primaries, which made it a lot easier for PMB to coast to victory. Subsequent funding of APC campaign was carried out by Amaechi and Tinubu. Amaechi is yet to answer how he spent over 20 billion naira on PH monorail, and yet what we have today are just a few concrete pillars. He's also yet to clear himself on how he used up the money he recovered from the sale of State government assets. The details of misappropriation of funds by Amaechi are with Rivers State Government. |

'All the accusations you lots have been throwing out against GEJ, Diezani, Wike etc, do you have an objective backing about them? Have they been convicted by any court of law?'
Thank you for mentioning this point. If I may ask, how many of them have been jailed? All of them has one or two allegations written against them, but have not been found guilty because no competent court of law has said so.
If allegations is to be reckoned with, all past PDP Ministers and Governors would have been jailed by now.
Get your fact right.
I mentioned that point because APC hold unto mere allegations to demonise PDP members. Jonathan was labelled corrupt and was voted out on account of mere allegations. So why should it be a big deal if Amaechi goes to clear himself from the "mere allegations" before taking up a ministerial post? |
Politics › Re: Will PDP Senators Also Follow Saraki To Supreme Court? by Kennydoc(m): 3:09pm On Oct 30, 2015 |
Ephemmm: Despite the chunk of allegations on Saraki's neck, this is the same set of PDP's Senators who did not only accompanied him to the Court, but also backed him up with authenticated Vote of Confidence. Therefore, the question begging for answer is - how does Amaechi's case different Saraki's case if PDP truly mean the business of being an objective opposition since both of them have allegations hanging on their necks?
Therefore,PDP can't use a mere blackmail/allegations to achieve their revenge mission against Amaechi just because he played a prominent role in turning the biggest party in Africa to a mere regional party of Ndigbo: they can continue their wailing till eternity.
Hypocrisy of PDP has no bond: let's wait and see how they will continue mocking themselves. Over 80 senators passed a vote of confidence on Saraki, with 49 of them being PDP senators. Kindly tell me the party the remaining 30+ belonged to. A panel of enquiry was set up which indicted Amaechi, yet he refused to go and clear himself because he has federal backing. EFCC had been written about his case, yet they haven't done anything. So which mere allegation are you talking about? All the accusations you lots have been throwing out against GEJ, Diezani, Wike etc, do you have an objective backing about them? Have they been convicted by any court of law? If Buhari truly wants to fight corruption, why is he appointing those who have corruption allegations as ministers? Why didn't he ask them to go and clear their names? Of course, he too is corrupt so he can't fight corruption. He may be slightly less corrupt than many politicians but he still oozes corruption, cos he worked under the most corrupt HoS in Nigeria, and had the mind to adjudge him to be a saint. His campaign was also funded by looted funds, which he was well aware of. |
Politics › Re: Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje Sleeping In Public? by Kennydoc(m): 2:36pm On Oct 30, 2015 |
That's hypersomnia. It's a sleep disorder, and those who have the problem are usually helpless as to how to control it. If you've ever felt very drowsy while reading at night or in church, with your eyelids drooping and you just can't keep awake despite all attempts, then you will understand what these people go through several times a day. I know a professor of medicine, a cardiologist who occasionally dozes off while consulting in the clinic. She just can't help it. It's not her fault. |

harrysterol: This is Wickedness, how will you call that thing a Power Bike?
Op btwn what you posted and the power bike (yamaha r6) below do they look alike? That an insult to Power Bikes
Let us stop celebrating Mediocrity Some of you guys are never realistic. It's really annoying. To start with, that bike there is the final year project of students. They had to fund the production from their pockets or did you read that they got sponsorship from any agency? What would have been the benefit, if they spent much money on aesthetics? The focus is not on the beauty, but rather on the mechanics of the bike. It's only if there are plans for mass/commercial production that all the relevant touches on beauty would be put in place. Again, they wanted to use only local materials so that people won't accuse them of merely buying motorcycle parts and assembling them. All in all, they deserve commendation especially knowing that this is Nigeria where even matches and toothpicks are imported. We don't expect to see a design that will match what Japanese students will produce. |
