Explorers: 10. Jesus Christ, son of Mary, was born in a cave, not in a wooden stable. Caves were used to keep animals in because of the intense heat. A large church is now built over the cave, and people can go down inside the cave. The carpenters of Jesus' day were really stone cutters. Wood was not used as widely as it is today. So whenever you see a Christmas nativity scene with a wooden stable that's the "American" version, not the Biblical one.
source: http://facts.randomhistory.com/christmas-facts.html
http://www.corsinet.com/braincandy/xmastrivia.html I don't believe this point one bit. Even in the days of Moses, over 1000 years before Christ was born, there were already carpenters with expertise in woodwork. Remember that the Ark of Covenant was made of wood. The tabernacle built by Moses had a lot of wood work. Even in the days of David and Solomon, the temple of Solomon had a lot of wood work. What about the ships that sailed on the sea (Mediterranean Sea) which brought precious stones in abundance for Solomon? Weren't they made of wood. Bros that point in bold is fallacious. |

Will the government be able to give a digitally controlled refinery that will equally satisfied those conditions under 7months. I think criticism should be constructive and not otherwise. The OP actually have some mischief up his sleeves when posting this article.
There is a second part of the article. I don't know if the man was saying the truth: ....said the Kaduna refinery has bad features, which are never discussed, especially the fact that Nigeria would have to import heavy crude from Venezuela to refine at the facility, because the country’s light crude is incompatible with the refinery’s technology. mandax: Okay, now Awka has flyovers. So Awka is now a big city.Lol.
Lack of appropriate understanding of what makes a city. Misplaced priority. How much traffic circulates Awka in a day? Flyover where a roundabout could have been okay. With your kind or reasoning, those who built such complex interchanges in the US and other well developed nations are crazy, since they could have built a simple flyover on top of the other road or even a roundabout, like we have in most Nigerian cities. Will a roundabout on the express ease traffic congestion adequately? If you live in Abuja, do you pass through Area 1 round about often? Do you notice the kind of congestion that occurs there everyday? Also, will a roundabout prevent the frequent accidents that happen when speeding cars on the express knock down pedestrians, especially when the roads are free? By the way, who said flyovers are for big cities? Is Sagamu also a big city because I know it has a flyover? Flyover has nothing to do with the size of the towns or cities. It's simply meant to ease traffic, irrespective of the city size. Reason guy, reason.

YerYer: Since this topic made front page twice, lemme repost what I posted the last time...
You would think "Boko Haram" would be the most searched or trending topic, instead you have people searching about the Charlie Hebdo killings. This just shows that we don't value Nigerian lives. The day after the Paris attacks I saw Nigerians on social media doing #wearewithparis or #parisstrong etc meanwhile many innocent Nigerians are losing their lives, limbs and arms to boko haram everyday and no one cares.
Seems like we love to join the band wagon just to look cool. I noticed the same thing during the Ice Bucket challenge in 2014, Nigerians on social media were doing the whole ice bucket thing to create awareness for ALS which is a neurodegenerative disease very common in Caucasians meanwhile millions are dying of malaria in Nigeria. Not sure if this is a case of misplaced priorities or just attention seeking behavior. Even our celebs were part of the short lived craze.
Value yourself or no one else will give a rat about you. Long comment, but not deeply thought out. The compilation are things that were most searched for by Nigerians this year. Boko Haram has been running rampage in Nigeria since 2009, so somehow, Nigerians are tired of hearing about BH. Most of us know the nitty-gritty of BH, so what is there to Google search about them? If you're to see such report from 2009, I'm very certain that BH will make the list. It's also a similar reason why Buhari made the list and Jonathan didn't. I'm sure that if you check the list for 2011,chances are that you may see Jonathan, but certainly not Buhari. The whole issue has nothing to do with patriotism. New and trending events are more likely to have more searches on the Internet than events that people are used to, and tired of hearing about. |
Romance › Re: 7 Reasons Why ladies Should Make a First Move On The Man they desire. by Kennydoc(m): 12:19am On Dec 21, 2015 |
Toks2008: We have heard of the stigma that comes with a lady making a first move on a man and with the African mentality, a lady would rather wait and hope that that guy that gives her goose pimples would just walk up to her and woo her but most times, this never happens and when the man who does not catch her fancy comes her way,she will bark at him so ferociously as if the guy is responsible for her "timidity"
I have actually sat down to reason deeply about this issue and i have come to a solid conclusion that judging from the happenings of today,it will be a wise thing for a lady to stop waiting and hoping that one guy she wants will just read her mind and walk up to her and i would like you all to see 7 realistic reasons why you should give that guy a green light without outrightly wooing him if you truly want him rather than wait and pray he comes your way.
1.Many men are confused and don't know what they want: Yes many guys are so confused and ths has nothing to do with imaturity. Each day, a guy sees different ladies of different ersonalities, colors, curves and beauty and just when they are thinking about dating a lady, they see another one that looks even more alluring to him and on and on he gets so lost as to which lady to go for even when he is not sure which one will say yes to him but when you give him a green light,,he is likely to let down his guards and settle for you. Guys love daring ladies and we find them amusing
2.Takes an extra effort to woo a lady: Don't be deceived when you see a dude and you start thinking he has all the ladies in the world after him because in actual fact, many guys battle with fear of rejection even the sweet looking ones. No matter how sweet looking a man is, he usually plans his moves and they know there is a possibility of you turning them down but maybe just a sweet flirtatious glance or sweet smile from you to him will make him more relaxed and feel more confident to approach you and pour out those lyrics.
3.Most responsible guys are shy or don't have that time to woo a lady: The bottom line is that in most cases, those bold and daring guys that walk up to you are playboys but the more reliable, responsible and purposeful guys are shy or don't even know how to woo a lady or are too devoted to their career to do that so if you see that sweet looking dude, just say hi to him and if he does not catch the drift,he is on his own.
4.Hard to get syndrome: Some ladies still think playing hard to get is in vogue..I am one guy that will not bother you again if you give me any strong NO body language. I believe if you want me as a friend even if not as a date for a start at least be friendly with me and don't give me this appalling attitude. Honestly there are too many ladies out there for one girl to dey form hard to get and if i am a lady, i would rather prove hard to forget rather than hard to get. Many men don't even bother these days wooing ladies because they have that mindset that these ladies will end up forming and are easily drawn towards the ones that show them a green light.
5.Every lady deserves the man she desires: As guys,we are cool with the fact that we know what we want in our lady as regards her physical appearance and when we see such that meets up, we simply summon courage and walk up to her but in the case of a lady,it is expected of her to just sit and wait in hope that the guy walks up to her and it is considered improper for her to express her desire for that guy...how partial and wicked can this ever get?. I believe that What's sauce for the goose should also be sauce for the gander and i believe it is unfair for ladies to just cry in silence when they see a man they so desire and who might just desire them with hope that he makes the first move.
6.Making the first move on a guy is never the same as throwing yourself sheepishly at him: I have heard many people use these erroneous remarks that when a lady makes a first move on a guy then the guy will not value her or will see her as cheap...you never jam babe that will make the first move and will comport herself so well that the guy will have a rethink and value her even more than he ever imagined. When you make a first move on a guy,it does not mean you will start monkeying over him or be at his beck and call and yes you can make a first move on a guy and still deny him sex wella so ladies must understand that whoring over a guy is a total different ball game and making a first move is another.
7.Economy crunch:In-fact in Nigeria, this has become number one deterrent as many guys have lost hope of ever getting a girl to truly desire them because to these, they will always believe its about money and not love. You will be amazed that the guy you are so much into is also deeply attracted to you but he has been thinking about his pocket and asking himself how on earth will he be able to meet up with "your standard" especially if you are the high class babe. But if you just show that guy a little encouragement,he just might overcome this thought and make that move.
The truth is that making a first move on a man can be done tactically and does not really mean throwing yourself at him or opening your legs for him to take undo advantage of you but you can go for the man you want and still maintain your dignity and he will respect you all the way.
I don't know if this makes sense but just thinking out loud. I like your thread, honestly. It's perfectly in shape. I agree with all your points, completely. |

That is how an responsible and commendable opposition party should function. The source of that news item is questionable. We all know that APC mostly kept quiet despite some strides made by GEJ's administration, as in agriculture, automotive policy, rail transport, education (building of new universities), even when military started recording successes against Boko Haram etc. APC said nothing about all these. Well, I guess PDP is still waiting for APC to record a real success before commending them. Yes, Dasuki might have mismanaged $2.1bn, but how much did Amaechi and Fashola who are ministers today mismanage? Why make noise over Dasuki, when your (Buhari's) campaign was funded with looted funds? |

Rawani: OP, what have FFK and Fayose said about Dasuki/Jonathan's $2.1B arms purchase scam?
Surely, a commendable opposition is borne out of true patriotism, and not just petty antagonism of a rival ruling party.
FFK and Fayose (the judge beater) have no moral authority to criticize this government. We are in need of a virile and altruistic opposition. Following what APC taught Nigerians as an opposition party, strong oppositions attack the government whenever they go wrong and keep quiet when they are right. That's what makes them a political party. I can never remember APC commending the immediate past FG on any of their successes. |

I wonder why most pple throw the 'I' away. For example: 'I am eating' shouldn't be 'am eating' cos it wouldn't make sense if u shorten 'she is eating' to 'is eating' I personally don't write like that, but I tell you, there is a reason for it. It's always in a bid to type faster, and use fewer letters.
While chatting, many people including me write things like. "will see you tomorrow", "haven't been there before", "can't try that" etc. It's just the same way that some people write "am coming" . |

At any time u pple just choose a narrative dt fits ur agenda and strts screaming aw every 1 hates u in Nigeria, why u must go to biafra. Shiioor. The mosque wasn't burnt. The upper floor was however stained by the smoke that came from the burnt kiosks and shops attached to the mosque. The Governor only helped them repaint the mosque, and probably plans to complete and roof the first floor of the building. Those are the pictures of the mosque after the alleged burning. You can see the shops around the mosque completely burnt down, and destroyed yet the mosque still standing. You can also see the ground floor looking dirty because of the work going on, on the first floor.

Heads of state are entitled to security and a pension of over 20m, but not to exotic cars, especially when the funds for the said cars were not captured in the budget. One of them (probably Obj) even requested for 2 of the cars, and ended up getting them. Isn't that corruption? I mentioned Dokpesi because he claimed he was paid for commercials that his TV station rendered. He's however being hounded because he shared in the looted funds. As former heads of state, they were supposed to ask about the source of the funds for the rides, and should have refused them if the source of the money couldn't be clearly explained. Why does FG want to prosecute NOI, Emefiele and a few other people if not that they obeyed wrong instructions. Why is Dokpesi being hounded if not that he was given some money from the loot? GEJ will also start enjoying the same benefits from next year. So, Dasuki can't hide under this excuse to explain away how he and jonathan stole and shared $2.1billion meant for hardware purchase. Well, the issue is that the money Dasuki spent was neither budgeted for nor appropriated, so it was illegal. It means all past Heads of State shared in the illegal loot. |
