fujirice:You really spilled this out of your mouth? How can you enforce speed limit on the expressway, assuming it does exist? I drive within Abuja city. I know most of the roads despite being very neat and well maintained don't have speed limit signs, but majority of drivers drive sanely. Accidents rarely happen inside town, except on the expressways. It's only occasionally that FRSC, VIO or Police stand by the roads and check vehicles. Whenever they are there, they even worsen things cos they cause traffic congestion, till they leave. Many states don't have the luxury of having numerous FRSC and VIO staff, but there is still basic traffic order in the states. My dear, please stick to your own opinion. I'm done. |
fujirice:Did you see the first paragraph of the post: Thats how I was queuing for petrol on the express along alapere some minutes ago only to hear very loud disturbing sounds. My guy, don't forget that we're in Nigeria. Which authorities are you talking about? So you want FRSC officials to be stationed at every 500m distance of all the roads in Nigeria? Please be realistic! Again, do you know the time of the day it happened? Is it within the job specifications of FRSC officials to be stationed on all the roads 24 hours of the day? Speed limit is out of it cos it was along the express, if the op truly knows what expressway is, except he meant dual carriage way. See, this whole thing boils down to wisdom on the part of the drivers. Speed limit or not, common sense tells you that as a driver, you have to slow down when you start approaching busy segments of any road. Many states that are less developed than Lagos don't even have very good roads, not to talk of speed limits on their roads or FRSC officials, yet we don't so much hear of falling trucks. Now what do you say about trailers flying unto the rails of bridges? Is that FRSC officials problems too? |
maupe:Taaa! Who dash am 2nd class. Graduate wey get pass for uni dey tell undergrad how e go take study, make e get first class. |
fujirice:I'm listening |
mikedimeji:For your mind now, u sabi lie. Contunuu, God dey watch you with onyokometer. |
jomoh: ![]() |
fujirice:Authorities? Why? From the pictures we've been seeing, most of them happen on good roads without pot holes. Check out the road in that picture. Now, what do you say about those that climb and almost fall off overhead bridges? Still the authorities' fault? |
Thats how I was queuing for petrol on the express along alapere some minutes ago only to hear very loud disturbing sounds. Why was the driver on high speed, especially knowing that he was driving a big vehicle, and was driving within a busy area? Majority of these trailer accidents are caused by the drivers. Many of them drink and smoke, and thus lose their sense of reasoning and calculation on the wheels. May God save His people. |
Aufbauh:My guy, be certain that nobody will shout as long as the prosecutions are not one sided. But how can the prosecutions not be one sided when Amaechi and Fashola are both already ministers? How can it not be one sided when Obasanjo is the navigator or APC, and Atiku is BOT Chairman? Frankly speaking, most of us hate the corrupt politicians. We only "wail" when we see selective justice being displayed, especially in such a way as to intimidate us (those in the opposition) with it. Selective justice is in itself injustice, and injustice is evil. Compare the treatment of President Shehu Shagari and VP Alex Ekwueme by Buhari in 1984. That was a clear example of selective justice, which was gross injustice to Ekwueme and his folks. If the fight against corruption can't be wholesome, then let's stop the deception. |
jamalsky:All the facts you listed were evident when APC was campaigning, and yet they promised Nigerians heaven on earth. It can be clearly stated that APC won the election on false pretence, which is evil. Nobody is expecting Nigeria to be like Dubai yet, but we want to see a serious sign of commitment from the government, and we want to see an effort to fulfill the campaign promises. So far, NOTHING tangible has been done. Never forget that his nepotism has created wounds that will never heal in the heart of many Nigerians, especially those from the south. Frankly speaking, Buhari doesn't deserve to lead Nigeria in this age. He's too rigid, undiplomatic, nepotistic, bigoted, bitter and unforgiving, to lead a fair government that will prosper all Nigerians. |
gretblue:And in the same dispensation, your core north had VP, Speaker, CJN, President of Customary court of Appeal, Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Chief of defense staff, IGP, NSA etc. Of all the positions Igbos occupied, can you tell me anyone that is higher ranked than the VP and Speaker? Igbos have been completely left out of Buhari's government based on his appointments, and we've gradually accepted our fate, but to carry that height of bigotry to the civil service is extremely painful. The south East has at least double the number of enrolments into the universities than the north west, but the north west could comfortably produce 25 comptroller, 6 times of the measly 4 positions given to the south East. Prior to now these appointments/promotions have been made on a geopolitical zone basis, in a bid to respect federal character. Please don't tell me that you're justifying this ill. |
jaymichael:Are you really trying to justify this mess? Please which region are you from? That SE had just 4 comptrollers and NW & NE had 25 and 26 respectively is justifiable to you? Or you are okay that the 3 Northern zones had 69 while the 3 southern zones had only 25 just about ⅓ of what their northern counterparts had? Does it make any sense to you that Northerners have far less enrolment into the universities than their southern counterparts, only for them to fill up most positions in the civil service? It means that for example, 70% of Northern graduates get employed into the federal civil service, while only about 5-10% of their southern counterparts get the same opportunity (I chose the figures arbitrarily. The ratio is what I want you to consider). Is this fair by any means? Nigeria isn't just working, and as far as this kind of injustice thrives, then I'm sorry to say that this country doesn't deserve to survive. I personally don't support the Biafran agitation, as I believe a prosperous Nigeria is of greater benefit to Igbos than Biafra, but when things like this keep going on unabated, I have no choice than to wish for Biafra to succeed. |
My boss who is an Obstetrician and an Igala man said he'll prefer an Okun man to rule Kogi than an Ebira man. I know Okene people are Ebira, and they (Okene's) are among the most difficult and violent Nigerians I have heard of. May the best man win the case in Kogi, and may his tenure be peaceful, and bring development to the state. Kyase:Is David Mark not Idoma? How could they have someone like him, and still be suppressed in their own state? It doesn't make any sense. |
That plus (+) sign saved the day. If it had been a dot like others, the answers would have been either 24 or 55,depending on if one took the dots (.) as addition or multiplication respectively. The answer is therefore 10. |
Forwetinnah:In her story, she made us understand that she went through hell for the 6 months they were together, but in all these chats and emails, there was even no clear mention of it. Again, she was still begging for his love even after more than one year of their separation. At what point did she now develop the post traumatic stress disorder, panic attacks etc she told us about, if she was still cool with him even after moving over to the US? I maintain that even if the guy raped her, it wasn't the rape that crushed her, rather the fact that the guy dumped her. The girl is even a slůt, for her to have been involved in those sexcapades including the fellåtio experiences at just 17. I feel ashamed that I believed and supported her at the beginning. |
Aguntasolo1:Having read some of the emails between the two, I feel very disappointed with the girl. I've basically lost all the sympathy I had for her First, at just 17 years, she was already enjoying sex with a guy she met barely a month previously, despite the fact that she didn't know him well. She was even sucking the guy's d*ck in the name of bj, and she evidently relished the experience. I was ashamed reading that. Secondly, this girl was ready to get married to a Muslim and dump her Christianity, just because the guy was from an influential home. Even if she was in love, her Christian foundation was very poor, to the point that a relationship mattered more to her than her faith. Thirdly, she was still in love with him even after moving over to the US, up to one year after their separation, as evidenced by the emails they exchanged. I think she even sent her nude pics while she was in the US. Like somebody said, she might have been raped but it wasn't the rape that crushed her. She obviously still loved the guy after the rape incidents, if indeed she was actually raped. What I think crushed her was the fact that the guy dumped her, started dating and married another girl. I'm sure it was at the point of jilting her that all these bitterness about him started. I'm still disappointed with the girl. I assumed her to be a decent girl who was abused continually against her will only to discover that she was enjoying the sexcapades she had with him, and still loved him up to one year after she moved over to the US. |
donphilopus:You simply know nothing about the law. Even a consensual sexual intercourse by an adult with a 17 year old (who is obviously a minor), is regarded as a rape in the eyes of the law. Once the Mustapha guy establishes that he had any sexual relationship with the said girl when she was still 17 years old, then he has indicted himself and will go down. It doesn't matter whether she sent him any nude pics or not. Infact, even if she was the one that seduced him, he will still be charged for rape. As for the nude pics, don't forget that she already mentioned that the Mustapha guy took nude pictures of her, against her will. It was the same pictures he threatened to use against her, which made her live in fear all those years, and refused to report the rape incidents. I know the girl wouldn't be completely innocent, as some of the reports from the Mustapha guy would indict her, but as long as she was 17 years old then, Mustapha is a goner. |
PassingShot:You just had to insult me by calling me a boy. What makes you feel you're older than me? Even if you are, does that make me a boy to you? If you're not above 35years,why should you call me a boy? To your question, earlier, you called Fayose a bastärd, simply because he had the courage to speak out to the president. Throughout his address (by his aide, anyway) to the president, he never insulted the president, nor referred to him with an abusive term. He simply called him out to face the act of governance for which he was elected, and stop empty talks and propaganda. You labelled him a bastard, and said he isn't a true omoluabi. Now, you who apparently are a true Yoruba son goes about insulting the past president, calling him clueless. You and your ilks (most of whom haven't achieved much in life) have labelled him with all manners of derogatory terms both in the past, and even now, despite that he (GEJ) is probably up to or even more than 30 years older than you. Yet Fayose, a sitting governor who is barely 20 years younger than Buhari cannot call him to order, otherwise he'll be tagged a bastard. You're clearly not a very rational being. Whenever an argument doesn't favour you, you resort to calling of names. SaharaReporters called Buhari Junketer-in-chief but instead of you showing us how wrong SaharaReporters were and how important those travels are, you diverted attention to clearly irrelevant matters, and resorted to name calling. Even though many PDP supporters here are like you, it still doesn't take away the fact that you're often irrational in your defense of APC. Therefore I repeat to you, grow up! |
OZAOEKPE:I read some of your posts where you talk/mention about God, and I read other posts that reek of vulgarity, like this one. Where do you stand bro? If you want to be a Christian, then show it in your speech and conduct. Remember that God will judge every vain and foul words we use here on earth. Be wise bro. |
PassingShot:Just yesterday, I mentioned that you were the most rational APC e-warrior on NL, but I can clearly see that I was wrong. You're worse than many of them, cos your compatriots avoid threads that expose the weakness of your demigod, while you bounce into such threads only to expose your stupidity. Guy, grow up! |
arsetalks:Okay. Anyway, many politicians are devil incarnates. If you hear some details about Oshiomhole, you may hate him for life. I respect Fayose cos he has a way of reminding the ruling party that it's not everybody that is asleep or has lost his sense of reasoning. |
arsetalks:If Fayose is a punishment to Ekiti people, I wonder what Aregbesola is to Osun people? I guess we can confidently say that the devil has built his headquarters in Osun. |
tempex88:Don't bother yourself about that. If what they posted are lies, the OSGF will counter it very soon. For now, El Rufai is a shameless liar and propagandist. My only joy with APC is that after all these propaganda of theirs, they can't just afford to fail Nigerians, cos it will be terrible for them. So to protect the little trust Nigerians have in them, they will certainly work. Whether their work will satisfy Nigerians is what I can't say now |
enstack:Take time to pray and fast about him. Ask your pastor or any Christian brethren close to you to join in in prayer for a few days. When you're done, create time to discuss with him at home. Tell him about your feelings, and how you don't appreciate some of the things he does in a bid to make you happy. Tell him that he has a right to refuse you some things when they're not convenient for him, and you won't take offence. He basically does want to offend you at any time, and at the same time doesn't want you to offend him too. He probably thinks that when 2 people get married, their wills get moulded into one, and they lose their sense of individuality. He thinks 2 of you should always reason alike, want the same thing at every point in time, and do virtually the same thing always. He lacks a detailed understanding of what marriage is, probably because he's beclouded by his passion for you. That's why I said you should pray and talk to him. I talked about prayer cos you're trying to cause an attitudinal or even personality change in an adult, so it shouldn't be easy. But I want to assure you that it's still possible. Also on your part, you should force yourself to start making some moves to make him happy too. Like some people said, he's scared of losing you. He's so into you that he can't imagine anything taking you away from him. He's excessively obsessed with you. When you show him that you're also into him, and portray it in your actions, he'll be more at rest, and some of those tendencies will die down. Make attempts to initiate romance as often as you can, even when you're not in the mood. Do it as a sacrifice initially, and I can bet that with time, you will start enjoying it. Deliberately force yourself to spend time with him. Find out what he wants and start doing them when it's possible for you. Also take time to call him when he's at work to find out how he's doing. When it becomes clear to him that you're with him always, and he will never lose you, this reverence he has for you will gradually transform into a more mature love and respect. Again, don't forget that your marriage is only one year old. This is usually the most difficult part of marriage, when couples are still learning to live with one another. Don't worry, things will iron out gradually. He's still madly in love with you. You haven't had any child for him yet, so you probably still have that smashing, lovely body and figure. By the time your figure starts changing after giving birth, and by the time the excitement of love starts fading in him, the real man you desire will show up. My only concern is that by then, you most likely will start complaining that he doesn't love you again, and might even start accusing him of cheating. |
lalasticlala:In a space of 3½ years that you've been on NL, you have created over 2700 topics? That's an average of more than 2 topics every single day. Oga, how you dey do am? |
NgeneUkwenu:Sometimes, you write like someone who has difficulty with reasoning properly. In your earlier post, you talked about 8tn naira budget, even at a point when Nigeria cannot finance a 4tn naira budget. Is the FG going to borrow over 4tn naira to fund an 8tn naira budget, considering the slump in crude price? It's just the same way you all were talking about paying 5k per month to 25 million poor Nigerians, when from all indications, it wasn't going to be possible. You guys shouldn't think we're all fools or babies. |
obailala:I will only believe you when I see people like NgeneUkwenu, Demdem, Omenka, and all those NL abókis critic Buhari's government constructively, like Passingshot has done. He (Passingshot) is far more rational than most of Buhari's supporters. It's unfortunate that he'll likely be among the first to withdraw their support for Buhari. By then, he will go dumb on NL, for fear of being labelled a wailer. Anyway, nice job Passingshot. |
searching4l0ve:You keep littering all the posts on NL with this rubbish. Are you okay? Is Obiano not a governor in an Igbo state? Is he not among the most performing governors in Nigeria presently? Was Sullivan Chime of Enugu not among the most performing governors in the last dispensation? Yes, Igbos may find it difficult producing a Nigerian president anytime soon, but how does it matter? Niger State has produced 2 Nigerian Heads of State (IBB and Abdulsalam Abubakar), but it's nowhere as developed as Rivers, Enugu, Akwa Ibom and some other states that haven't produced a Nigerian president. Obasanjo was president for 8 years and Jonathan was president for 5 years. Can you list out what these men achieved for Ogun state and Bayelsa state, or for the Yorubas and Ijaws respectively. Please grow up! You enjoy fanning the embers of ethnic hatred here on NL. It will definitely consume you one day, if you don't change. |
TJhimself:Shut up there! Fix problem which GEJ created? Are you sane at all? After all efforts GEJ made in improving power production and supply with the building and commissioning of several power plants, you open your mouth and talk this trash. Was power production in GEJ's time worse than it was in Obasanjo's time? If no, then how come it was GEJ that created the problem. As for the economy being in a bad shape, is GEJ the cause of the drop in crude price? All crude oil dependent economies are struggling now, including the mighty Russia, yet you're talking rubbish. I'm sure that after 4 years of Buhari's tenure, you will still be blaming GEJ for Buhari's failure. It's 6 months already. Let Buhari get to work and stop blaming past administration. |
CACAWA:And what has that got to do with anything? Singapore has a total area of 647km², compared with Nigeria's area of 923,768km². It means Nigeria is 1427 times larger than Singapore. But considering the economy, Nigeria's GDP per capita is a meagre $2,940 or so, while Singapore's GDP per capita is a whooping $55,500. It then means that the economy of Singapore is about 19 times better than that of Nigeria. Kogi state is about 5 - 6 times larger than Anambra State, but is much poorer in all ramifications. Same applies to other large states like Niger, Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa which are all over 5 times larger than Anambra, but are all poorer and much less advanced. My question to you now is, what has landmass got to do with development? |
Segadem:Is Lagos a road? |
Even though I don't approve of masturbation, I don't however see the reason why she should be crying. If he's a Christian, then probably he's weak willed. She will need to encourage and support him, to break out of the act, if it's a habit for him. She should also know that masturbation is better than cheating, so if he did that as a way to prevent himself from cheating, then he should be corrected/advised in love. People however should know that sex and all the activities directly connected to it are meant for the married. Masturbation is a way of personally inducing orgasm, and it's a sin before God, cos you can't induce orgasm without allowing your eyes and/or mind to be saturated with lust, which in itself is sin. Young men and women, please abstain from premarital sexual activities. It pays. |

INSTEAD OF THE IGBOS TO DEMAND GOOD LEADERSHIP AND JOB CREATIONS FROM THEIR GOVERNORS LIKE EL-RUFAI IS DOING UP NORTH, THEY ARE SHOUTING BIAFRA AS IF MONEY AND GOOD LEADERSHIP WILL GROW ON TREES IN THEIR YEYE BIAFRA LAND. SOME PEOPLE HAVE EYES THEY CANT SEE. THEY JUST ALLOWED NNAMDI KANU TO MISLEAD THEM AND SET THEIR PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION BACKWARDS BY ANOTHER 100 YEARS.
