Kudos to Ogbeni for his investments in education even amidst tight corners. The results will outlive him and Osun will be grateful to Aregbesola at some point. For he has made tough decisions, but he has made them with the future of the state in mind, and not necessarily his name
Osun is obviously reaping the benefit of the billions spent on Opon Imo, with their 29th position in 2015 WASSCE. Keep deceiving yourself.

The North-East has the least in term of capital project in the areas of Airport Repairs, Expansion and Construction. The three projects are the rehabilitation of Azare airstrip N41m, the upgrade, refurbishment of the Maiduguri airport terminal building at N79m and the maintenance of Potiskum airstrip at N68m.
The transport ministry also proposed to construct of railways at N90bn, waterways at N52bn and Aerodromes at N17.6bn. The breakdown and spread of these three projects were not on the budget estimate of the ministry.

However, a close look at the budget proposal of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture showed that the capital estimate of the ministry was a single line item, as its breakdown was not included.
The N47bn proposed for capital project in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture was shared between the ministry and 40 institutions under it.
Speaking, the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume said “The budget came with a serious lopsidedness in term of allocation especially in the ministry of works. We will balance it because a situation whereby you have more than half of the budget of a particular ministry going to one zone out of the six zones is not good. We are jointly working with the executive to look at the budget.”
Speaking when he appeared before the Senate committee on works, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola said the Southwest got the largest share in the area of roads to enable the federal government complete the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
“These projects have been dragging for years. Give us the opportunity to change the way things are done before and hold us responsible at the end of day,” he said, assuring that other areas would be covered in due course.

I asked myself several times if you went to school. Did you read the emphatic stress in my reply? " in the movie ".

Gosh at this point I believe when asked who the fool is between I and you. The question needs no answer.

Thanks
You aren't making any sense at all.

You picked up lines from a movie and you're trying to present a serious point with it. For crying out loud, that statement was made in a movie. Any movie producer or script writer can include anything he wants in his movie, but that doesn't mean it's true in reality.

Moreover, it could simply be an individual opinion, and not a collective thing. I had a classmate in the university who despite bearing Igbo name claimed he wasn't Igbo. There are people like that, but that doesn't mean most Igbos in Delta deny being Igbo. As a matter of fact, only a few do.

Why not present a video where a well known Nigerian from Delta Igbo denied being Igbo in real life?

alablec:
SW & SE never teamed together for election except 2011. North only trusts SE as second fiddle but voted massively for Abiola (against Tofa, their son) and Obasanjo. The truth is that it's easier for M/Belt & SS to produce president than SE except with SW support which pride will never allowed majority of SE people to think about, hence room for self determination because North will never support SE.

some from SE are wishing North rule for ever but North is wise; they can only endure SE "wahala" but they don't ever want Yoruba "wahala". they enjoy the divide & rule tactics hence their joy over Igbo - Yoruba rancour/ division. They are aware that the day Yoruba & Igbo unite, the end to their well-planned hegemony.
Saying that Northerners don't ever want Yoruba wahala is just an empty noise. Northerners have always teamed up with the available group in the South in the interest of the North. There is no fear of Yoruba in the matter, cos they understand that as long as Igbos and Yorubas remain in 'enmity' with each other, the south will never truly rise. That's why I agree with your last 2 statements.

My own point is Northerners don't think like you!
The only time there was vote bloc in North 19 states.was the last election
It's not true. You can only say that the margin was higher in the last election. In 2011, most of the states in the NW and NE voted Buhari enbloc. I'm not sure if Jonathan won in any of the 13 states, but he obviously got more votes than he did last year.

Northerners don't think like what? You are obviously inexperienced. As long as there is a northerner in the picture, you can be sure that he must win at least 50% of the votes irrespective of the party. A southerner only wins when SW and SE/SS team together and usually, they will get some NC states on their side.
Just watch out and see.

You're a tribal bigot. What has the discussion got to do with Igbos living in the South West?

Recent history has shown that the South East is advancing better than the South West, except for Lagos in the areas of education, business and manufacturing.
Obiano is far better than any of the SW governors currently, so what's your point really?

To correct the wrong impression you're making, no South easterner moves to the SW for security. It's all about looking for markets that aren't yet saturated, for commercial activities.

As good as that sounds, it is not feasible in a country like Nigeria. It has too much diversity, as there are hundreds of local languages, so how does the hausa communicate with the Idoma etc.

There would probably be an ethnic civil war if Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa gets declared an official language.

When living things age, they either age gracefully or age badly.

My 13 year old Bingo, Ruggedman belongs to the latter category. He will be 14 in November, but he might be stoneblind before then.

Ruggedman is already 90% deaf and the only way we can get his attention is by tapping him. He has cataracts in one eye, and it is already spreading to the second.

Now, my question to the house is this: is there something we can do to prevent the cataract overtaking the remaining the good eye? *sob* cry

Also, he is always coughing. He spends most of the day coughing. The vet in my area is incompetent (he collected big money to treat our Innocent, but the poor thing still died) so we are afraid of taking him there. Most of the dogs handled by this quack end up dying and we don't wanna hasten Ruggedman's imminent demise by handing him to the executioner. angry

*weep*

What can we do to help my darling Ruggedman? The perennial cough and fast approaching blindness is breaking my heart...

*wail* cry
Cataracts in humans are corrected by ophthalmologists when the affected eye is operated upon, and a prosthetic lens inserted into the lens capsule. Unfortunately, there are no veterinary ophthalmologists, so there is no way to stop the cataract from progressing. It's unfortunate, but he may ultimately go completely blind.

I mentioned "health surveillance".. Its the company's responsibility to know the health status of their staff, ergonomic abilities from time to time.
There is a limit to the kinds of death health surveillance can prevent. Many doctors, among other kinds of workers die of cardiovascular diseases.
A young military doctor in his 30's who I respected a lot since I knew him died 3 months ago of cardiac arrest. Even NL carried the story of a doctor in his 70s who died some months ago in his consulting room, in one SW state.
If doctors can die like that even at work, how much more other workers?

Working in a hot environment for 8 hrs a day for 3 years is an impending death sentence already.

Again, being with Jumia since it's inception means that he was a senior staff of some sort, at least more senior than a number of other staff there. So his working conditions would have been better than that of many others in that office.

Why go ahead and accuse someone when you have got no evidence yet?

You know what I feel? Diezani truly stole money, just like every other politician. However, Buhari is afraid to probe her because she has a lot of secrets on Buhari. It will be difficult if not impossible to produce the next batch of successful chemist in that crowded hall.
Little wonder we cannot produce employable graduates.

Nuc needs to do more unannounced assessment visit and sanctions schools with more students than facilities.
It's likely a 100 level Chemistry course. 100L courses in many Nigerian universities usually have their lectures held as combined classes across many departments. You may have all 100L students in a faculty (say 10 departments) receiving lectures in one hall. That may imply having 500 to 1000 students expected to receive lectures in one hall at a time.
The universities do it in such a way as to reduce the burden the lecturers in those departments will go through, if they have to teach the students in each of the departments that offer the courses separately.

First of all, Nigeria is in West Africa. No doubt. It could simply be a mistake by the CNN reporter.
However, as a human being, I could chose to divide Africa into two depending on whatever context I was using.
Nigeria would either be in the southern part or northern part of Africa.
Guess where it is...

And using your Benue and Cross River examples means nothing, we are not in a geography class here.
If we are to go by just NORTH, SOUTH, EAST AND WEST, where would you place a country like Central Africa Republic?
The term North Africa is a defined region, and isn't subject to individual interpretations. If you want to refer to countries in the northern half of Africa, then it must be aptly specified. A term like "north of the equator" will do.

I mentioned Benue and Cross River to let you realise that your point about drawing an imaginary line in any geopolitical region makes no sense. It is absolutely meaningless. Cross River is typically in the south eastern end of Nigeria, but it can't be described as a south eastern state geopolitically.

Central African Republic is in the Central African Region, alongside countries like Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Congo DR, Chad etc.

But then, our people usually grab irrelevant issues.
There is nothing irrelevant there.
Can you say Benue state is in Southern Nigeria because it's south of River Benue, or can you say Cross River state is in the South East, and your head won't go for it?
Why not also say that Ethiopia and Central African Republic are in North Africa, since they are north of the Equator?
You don't attempt to distort the geopolitical structure of a region and say it's no big deal.
Google is free to access, so CNN should always verify their news before giving them out. They have a reputation to protect.
EducationRe: Philip Toluwase Alabi: NECO Best Student 2015 by Kennydoc(m):
.....and he's going to read medicine....? Waste of brain. The bad thing about medicine is that it makes everybody 'equal'. Since there is no class in MBBS, there is little to no difference between all medical graduates. If he's to read Engineering, he could come out with First Class, even possibly make a CGPA of over 4.9. That will set him in a class of his own far above his mates.
I wish him the best though, in his career pursuit.

A petition written to efcc against him. He presented his own case and it was found out that the petition lack substance. That was far before he became minister.
If wike wants to know what he did with all the monies given to him, then he has all the records. Why ask him to tell him again? Who does that?
Only a blind bat will claim Amaechi did nothing as governor for eight yrs. We know what Odili left and we knew how Ameachi left. Only gullible fools will take all what wike says as Gospel truth.
Amaechi remain the best governor in Rivers history and that is a fact. A feat wike should pray to surpass.
Below are very few of what the monies were spent on.

What kind of useless bridge is that? No side pavements, no rigid side metal bars.... Why won't cars be falling off?
