erico2k2:The riverine guys prefer him to Wike, but that's not enough to give him victory or the AAC candidate victory. |
Prompto:The truth is that in a free and fair election, PDP will always win Rivers. What happened in Rivers yesterday wasn't an election at all. Amaechi decided to use the military to force Wike out of office. Why should Buhari who claims he has integrity approve such rascality by his minister? Why should he endorse the wasting of so many innocent lives like that? APC is strong in Rivers no doubt, but there isn't any way the party can displace Wike not to even talk of an unknown AAC except by an abuse of military force as witnessed yesterday. |
bender79:Voting was concluded yesterday. All results have been collected (at least at polling unit levels). Suspended means no further announcing of results. After the investigations, many of the results will be outrightly cancelled and a rerun planned at a later date. Amaechi has become a curse to the people of Rivers. On a normal day, PDP will win Rivers just the same way APC will always win Borno and Yobe even without campaigning. |
baralatie:It doesn't mean anything. Igbos still build houses in Lagos and Abuja despite knowing that Nigeria may still break up in the near future. Who says a man from Oduduwa Republic can't own properties in the Republic of Biafra? Are you aware that Indians, Pakistanis and Arabs are among the biggest landlords in the UK? They own houses and rent them out to British folks as well as other people from ethnic minorities. |
Stingman:Yeah, but I was only trying to agree with him as to why we demolish old houses in the South East to build new ones, while they retain their old, 'brown-roofed' houses. They have a lot of land to spare, we don't have enough. |
Printerscanner:Don't you guys get tired of repeating this nonsense? So Ambode was better than ALL other governors in this dispensation yet he was denied 2nd term ticket? Isn't that stupidity on the part of your party leaders? The reality is that Lagos governors are all overrated. Sitting on over half a billion budget per annum, even an idiot will seem impressive as a Lagos governor if they spend only a half of Lagos budget per annum. I mean we're talking about a state that already has infrastructure that many states cannot boast of in many decades. It's a state run largely by the private sector, so the government doesn't have that many workers on it's payroll compared to some other states. What do Lagos governors even do? |
Frenchkiss564:You're right. That's a real fact! If South East becomes a country tomorrow, it will have one of the highest population densities in Africa. There isn't much land to waste in most towns and villages. |
justtoodark:I don't think what I wrote is very difficult to understand. Many of the old houses I met in my village while growing up (most of which were built by my grandfather and his contemporaries) aren't there anymore. They have been demolished and replaced with newer buildings. That's what I meant by the term "pull down". |
kayfra:There's nothing really architectural about those buildings, neither will they have any worth in terms of tourism in the future. If Ibadan were to be the South East, most of those buildings would have been pulled down with modern buildings replacing them. I remember the Anglican and Catholic churches we met when we were kids. They weren't really bad, as a matter of fact, some of them had a little bit of European church architecture. They've all been demolished today and replaced with bigger and modern church auditoriums. A few of the buildings in Ibadan could have been left behind anyway to serve as memorials, but not having a large expanse of land crowded with such buildings, with people still living in them. They are simply not worthy of human habitation in the 21st century. Fact! |
onecrate:What about the senatorial and HOR seats that APC cleared? |
Franzinni:It's not love, bro. It's called obsession. It can be emotionally draining, and it can kill a relationship as fast as nagging does. |
Naijaguy123:While I respect Yorubas for what they were able to achieve by themselves prior to and after independence, to say Lagos was built just by Yorubas is pure and undiluted lies. Yes, Awolowo was a fantastic leader of Yorubas. He did so many things for Yoruba land, but you should remember that Ibadan (not Lagos) was the capital of Yoruba (or Western) Region. Awolowo built Ibadan not Lagos, and we know how the old Ibadan that was built in those days is today. Even as at independence when Lagos had already been Nigeria's capital city, it wasn't much more advanced than any regular town today. It was only organised. Lagos infrastructure was built to be fitting for a Federal capital territory, and that's why no other city in the entire South of Nigeria has such structures and amenities. If it was about Yorubas, then Ibadan would have been close in terms of development after all Ibadan was founded centuries before Lagos and is the administrative capital of Yoruba land. |
LibertyRep:The PDP candidate he supported (Adebutu) lost the court case to Kashamu. He (OGD) then decided that instead of supporting Kashamu, he'd rather support Dapo Abiodun who is equally from Remo like Adebutu |
KingAzubuike:Why do you guys keep doing this, why? Are you the only Igbos? This annoying bragging about what the Igbos can do is getting sickening and irritating? This is one of the reasons why these online wars won't end anytime soon. Are you reasonable at all? For your information, you're not more Igbo than me. I was born and raised in Igbo land (Anambra, to be precise), and I made A1 in Igbo Language in my SSCE. |

MrAJQ:You're a hopeless being. Have you ever been to the UK? So because May's government is struggling to get Brexit right (which wasn't even initiated by her), you term it that her government is more directionless than Buhari's? You're blind and aren't aware of that. In the UK, Buhari CANNOT be the head of a security unit of an organisation. He can't last in such a post for one month even if they freely offer him the opportunity. |
LexngtonSteele:Which rituals? Is Ogun State an Igbo state? Is any region competing with the SW on rituals now? What about Internet fraud? Isn't Ibadan the headquarters now? Abeg shift joor! |
garfield1:It will be declared that APC didn't have a candidate in the election cos his candidacy would have been nullified. The runner up will be declared winner. |
Afamed:Na you suppose use your sense, that's if you have any. Sowore and Sahara Reporters have been having running battles with Saraki for a long time. Suddenly, Sahara Reporters becomes PDP propaganda tool working to help Saraki. Chai! |
Afamed:Late or early, it doesn't matter. Even if the guy wins tomorrow, the court will sack him ultimately. |
END OF DISCUSSION, moving on to the NEXT LEVEL. And The Cameroonian is still.in severe pains, He hasn't congratulated BABA till this particular moment, after every sane person in the world did! Goodluck 'Jonathan' to him!
And has your baba ever congratulated a Nigerian president that won an election? |
Afamed:Shut up! Was it IPOB that asked him to decamp from PDP to APC and finally return to PDP? If he had remained in PDP after 2014, Kwara would have remained a PDP state today. Well, IPOB doesn't care about Saraki. He was only supported because he was against Buhari. It's the same way you guys are worshipping Akpabio now despite the unprintable things he said about APC and Buhari in 2014/15. The same Obasanjo you're castigating now is the man your leaders wore asoebi to go and beg for support in 2014/15. Abeg, leave all the talk. All Nigerians have the same tendency politically. |
iRepNaija1:You see, you're the one that missed the point I was trying to make. I mentioned that I understood her annoyance because the op made it seem like he wanted to control or lord it over the girl. I am sure in reality, that's not what he was referring to. Talking about taking corrections, nobody is always right. Corrections can be given by any of the partners in a relationship or marriage. I wasn't trying to make it seem like the woman must always take corrections from the man. The question is, the few times the man points out her errors to her, how does she respond to it? I once dated a girl who used to get very angry if I made attempt to correct her over any issue. At a point, I almost started getting scared whenever I was with her and an issue arose. You see, I have had a personal experience about this and I can tell you that with a reasonable man, a submissive woman ultimately rules. I can never see myself shouting at my babe now. It's almost impossible, yet in my past relationships, I had moments of shouting and bitter exchange of words. Why is it different now? By her submission and gentility, she has brought out the best of me. If I correct her over anything, she thanks me, and for that reason, if she corrects me, I won't start proving that I was right. I simply listen to her. At the beginning, I used to be scared of correcting her cos of my past experiences until I realised she has a better approach to issues. You don't have to agree with me especially with respect to the submission issue. If you're a feminist or a sympathiser of feminists, the whole submission ish will sound like nonsense to you. You have a right to disagree with me, but I can tell you boldly that a woman who humbly lets her husband take the lead ultimately gets full control. I'm sure you've heard of the term "woman wrapper". That's what submissive women turn their husbands to (especially if they are reasonable men like me). Such men can go any length just to please them and make them happy. |
cococandy:I understand your annoyance but believe me, I can feel the op. I once had a girl like that. We only lasted 2 months and I decided I couldn't take it anymore so I called it quits. Breaking up with her is one of the best relationship decisions I've ever made. Today, I have a girl who is so soft that I have become much better cos of her attitude. This is a girl that will apologise first cos there was a misunderstanding (even when the main fault might not have come from her). As a result of her attitude, I have learnt to apologise very easily, and as a matter of fact, I now see apologising to her as a way of expressing love. Besides, she has everything I ever desired in a girl physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. In my world, she's the most complete girl God ever created. A woman who always wants to enforce her opinion to her man will lose the man and the relationship. Same applies to a woman who can't take corrections. When a woman learns to submit to her man, she will ultimately win him over and may even get to start 'controlling' the man with her submission. @Kenshinmunac, that lady is not yours. Break up with her and wait for your own. You both are not compatible. I'm talking from experience. |
zurich1010:I'm Igbo, but honestly speaking, this is sickening. Why do you guys keep fanning the flames of tribal bigotry here on Nairaland? What has this hailstone fall got to do with Yorubas? Hailstone fall is not an achievement, it doesn't call for celebration or bragging in any way. I'm really tired of all these. |
Husbandofigbos:Which villages in particular? Are you telling me that as at then, there weren't people in rural communities of the South West who were going about naked? More importantly is the fact that today, there is nothing to show for that early enlightenment and exposure. |
kehinde1588:What is the link between IPOB and Saraki? When Saraki was in APC between 2014 and 2018, he wasn't IPOB. He was a progressive. As soon as he joined PDP, he became IPOB. Nonsense! |
Shuku0kukobambi:Without Amosun's rigging, I think it's clear Dapo Abiodun will win. PS: I'm not an APC person like you o. |
Husbandofigbos:And who is that? I only know he supported Jonathan in 2011 and Buhari in 2015 |
Husbandofigbos:Who were his presidential candidates in 2011 and 2015? |
